Wonderful stay, even during the slow summer season. Excellent service from every single associate, clean rooms and detailed housekeeping. Great food from Top of the Rock restaurant, the pool bar, and the lobby restaurant. Very well maintained landscape and pool area with great views. We will definitely be back!

I have stayed here approximately 10 times over the past 25 years the customer service and the entire staff are always excellent. The atmosphere is always beautiful, the mountains the waterfalls, the pools and the American Flag flying high on top of the Mountain gives you a good feeling inside. The reason only 4 stars is the patio style room, that I always choose, was renovated for the worse. The unique design of a semi open concept was walled off supposedly for privacy. They removed the saloon style doors and replaced them with nothing?? The wooden half wall which was stylish was replaced with a full length wall making the room look just like any other hotel room. So disappointed! When I questioned this there answer was "SOME" People complained. My response SOME people will always complain you ruined the unique look and the reason "MOST People choose this room.
Negatives -Roaches ( I have a picture, going to try and attach it to the review) I am super afraid of roaches and so when I woke up to go tinkle I was terrified! -Rock hard beds (Really really uncomfortable could not sleep on them) -Full size beds -No seating at the pool
Positives -Nice Pool - Lots of parking -Beverages at the pool area were delicious -Check in was friendly and quick
I laughed at the comment posted by Angie. If you feel like you are getting ripped off at this place, then it's way over your budget and you should be more worried about paying what you can, not selling your 401k for an anniversary trip and expect to be treated like a king/queen. It's a Marriott, you get what you pay for (and you're a small minnow my dear, you don't pay anyone's wages, you're entirely insignificant to a multi-billion dollar corporation). This hotel is one of the most popular in Tempe for a reason. It is clean, the staff is friendly, the food and entertainment are absolutely worth the cost, and the management obviously cares about its tenants and their needs.
As a hotel, it's decent. The rooms aren't amazing, it's a bit dated, but still comfortable. However, it's a great place for a close affordable weekend get away in the summer. The pool complex is great and the service is great. It's a bit pricey, but that comes with the territory of it being a resort.
Service has went down since COVID...I use to rave about this Hotel before my recent visit. VERY under staffed. I hope the service gets back to what it used to be ...it's a very pretty hotel
Overall a great stay. The drinks at the pool and dinner at the restaurant were very good. The room was a bit small, and there was a problem with my tv.
Resort style hotel with ample facilities for both business and pleasure. Great pool, tennis courts, spa and half way decent fitness center. Property is well maintained and similar architectural style to Hawaii type resorts. Excellent destination for large business meetings with a variety of "spaces" for special events. Combined with a location that is within 10 minutes of the airport... Hard not to be in contention
Great hotel with nice views and interesting integration of the building with the landscapes. I would imagine kids would love the huge pool! Somewhat dated in general. Great service.
The resort is amazing and the staff is super friendly but it was a very disappointing stay. Restaurant was always full so they suggested we get room service. They also cater to sports teams so we had hallway parties all day and night thanks to the teenage soccer teams and the baseball teams that were on our floor. Spent 3 nights, finally got to clean our room at 6pm one night and 7:30pm on Sunday might. When I complained they simply said they were busy.... Won't be staying here ever again.
It was beautiful inside and out. Valet was friendly. The only problem i had was the road going into the hotel. But the staff was friendly and the place was beautiful
The location is great for a view of the city and surrounding. Wait staff was friendly and professional. The parking is well below the restaurant and it's quite a hike, so plan on using the valet for the best experience. Average is around $60-80/person and the food matches that. Halibut was great and the steak melts in your mouth. Great dinner, date, and celebration spot.
Beautiful place. Loved the location and surroundings. Beware, the restaurant "Top of the Rock" is very pricey but food was good. The bread and butter was the best. Actually, I had a $15 Cosmopolitan. Yikes!
The pool and rooms were really awesome. The food at the Top of the Rock restaurant wasn't the best. Most of it lacked in flavor, very bland, except for the mushroom ravioli was the best. Overall, I would have rathered had food at the bar area.
It's a beautiful and unique resort with a couple nice restaurants and a big pool. The only negative thing is it smells musky and strange sometimes. And at times there is some riffraff at the pool, it may be because of the area of town it's in.
The best views of the valley from The Tequila Room and the great food!! Our practice christmas party is held here. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing. Would stay here again.
Given that it is only a 3-star hotel resort it is phenomenal. Central location. Very special ... Built into mountains. Highly recommended oil experience Smackdown in the middle of Metropolitan Phoenix.
Very nice facility ... A friend was staying here while in town and it was definitely one of the nicest resorts in Arizona. Very desert Esq... But unique and different .. overall awesome.
Had dinner at top of the rock restaurant, it was great. Spectacular view of the city lights at night. Would highly recommend the chicken donut appetizer, it was a favorite for the whole table.
check in went fine and they were nice enough to comp 1 parking spot for us, however it was disappointing that there was a resort fee and parking fee associated with the room. Then upon inspection of the room there was did left in the fridge. I called down and they sent someone up to the room. They offered to move us to another room but I was already unpacked and didn't want to pack everything up again. They only gave us the other resort fee and parking fee . I feel there was more they could have done to make up for this unacceptable error in cleaning. They also told me the room had sat for 48 hours which means the room had the food in it for at least 3 days.
The conference rooms were nice, not great, but get the job done. The food we had was stale cinnamon roles and crumbly breads. The orange juice was good.
One of the best gems to find in all if Phoenix. Amazing pool, hiking on grounds, and wonderful food. Oh, and do not forget about the plush bed. Best sleep of your life. The rooms are very clean and super nice. I have loved this place since I was 5 years old.
I went to my prom night and he located me in a room on the second floor. It was very elegant and very beautiful. I had a lot of fun I would like to go many more times.
The hotel is very nice. There are 2 medium sized pools. Hotel is built into the side of little stone features which adds a lot of character. Rooms are slightly outdated for the price. Staff is very nice, breakfast is nice, is a good spot for a relaxing weekend where you can sit by the pool. Kid friendly, has a water slide which is fun.
This property is very dated and worn out. If I had to guess, it hasn't been updated since the 1980's. I travel a lot, and this hotel doesn't even compare to other Marriott properties. It needs a desperate, complete renovation. I felt so grossed out that I could not get any sleep when I stayed here. I ended up transferring to a newer Marriott.
Located on 2nd floor room with patio. The room was not as clean as I'm used too. There was empty mini alcohol bottles on the floor and the coffee machine was dirty.
