Favorite property in Phoenix area. Very nice rooms and pool
Attended a professional event at the auditorium. The staff was very pleasant and eager to assist us. The Continental breakfast was well done and the whole event was very organized. I left impressed by the experience.
Beautiful views of Phoenix and great rooms. A relaxing place with a big pool.
While the overall age of this establishment my date back to the 1970's, they have done well to keep it modern and fresh. The rooms are very standard and up to date while the layout is cookie cutter and typical.
The magic of this location is when you step outside. Everything from the pools and hot tubs (yes, they have multiple hot tubs and pools) to the landscaping and lighting, and the breathtaking views from the many vantage points overlooking the area makes this one of my go to choices when in the area.
The resturants, room service and even the mini Starbucks on site offer selections which are unique and delicious. Plan at least a dinner or drinks onsite to take full advantage of this hotel and its amenities.
While yes, the rooms could be updated, the location and landscaping are beautiful. The pools, water slide, and hot spa pools are set into the side of rock and have a wonderfully inviting feel. Complimentary fresh brewed coffee and water are a nice touch.
No blackout curtains, the door had a gap 1 on inch between the bottom of the door and floor. The property access door for staff was directly across the hall, and it had no soft close mechanism on it. So all night banging of the door. My wife and i at 8 am just checked out. Ruined our planned day. after no sleep and bright sunshine coming in the room and staff door banging all night, i will not be spending money at that hotel again!
This hotel was very nice. Lobby was fantastic with water feature. Views were amazing. Food - even in the lobby bar - was delicious. Definitely recommend a stay
I was not a guest. I was there with an officer during an unfortunate event.
I was there for a friend's 21st birthday, and had a sleepover with a group of friends there. It's definitely one of the nicest hotels I've been too. Very clean and comfortable.
Awesome resort! Beautiful grounds. Only negative is just a tad dated, and the Halls are very long.
The venue is very nice with amazing views, last year the food was amaxing, this year it was just okay. The wait staff is extremely helpful and polite. I didn't need any additional accomadtions, but for those who did, they were quickly taken care of (vegan).
Great location. Friendly staff. Property is beautiful. Rooms are a bit older (loud AC units, always running)
The 6100 block of rooms are in kind of a crappy area. Lots of bugs and a funky smelling water collection puddle at the bottom of the waterfall that is right outside the door to the rooms.
This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The fitness center was large with a very good view. The food at the pool bar, main restaurant, and breakfast buffet were very good. Pool was very relaxing and clean as well.
Looks like an amazing place to eat at the restaurant but we drove an hour from home just to eat there and showed up over an hour before closing time from what the websight said and they were already closed. It was a ghost town! But was able to get some nice sunset photos and enjoy the view but just wish we could have had the nice dinner & view experiance that we went there for! We were ready to have a nice $pendy Dinner it was just a bummer that they closed early!
Nice place to get away from it all. One of my favorite staycation spots in the valley!
Been to this hotel several times.my only complaints is their probably the only hotel that still charges for wifi. And it's 15 a day. Also I noticed anyone can park and walk into property and enjoy everything I'm paying for. No security
Took my fiance for her birthday and it was awesome. Food was excellent and the staff was great. The views are breathtaking.
Room had a leak coming from the ceiling and we had to be moved. Next room had a bad odor in it.
Food in the restaurant took over an hour and was very mediocre. They apologized but the exact same thing happened again the next night.
We heard nothing but complaints from other people who were staying there as well.
Would NEVER stay there again.
Hot tubs weren't warm. Rooms and hallway had a wired smell.
This was an exceptionally nice hotel, and the price was reasonable for the quality of the rooms.
Unfortunately, while most of the staff was friendly, there were also several that didn't seem interested in having me and my friend around. We just wanted a nice dinner after a long day of driving. So we went to the main restaurant, where we were given dirty looks by the hostess and interrogated about what room we were staying in (as if we didn't belong). We ended up eating at the bar instead, and walked away 100 bucks lighter after a few drinks and mediocre entrees. Our bartender was super friendly, though. After that, we decided to spend our money off campus for the rest of our stay.
This place is gorgeous and seems very family friendly. Just make sure you belong with their usual clientele.
We ate at the restaurant and the food was great! Sat outside, and the view was amazing! Definitely recommend for a nice date night out!
Wonderful food and view. HOWEVER, there is only a very long ramp to walk to restaurant for handicapped.
Beautiful views. Nice hotel. Fantastic staff. Great service and overall stay. Only issue was that the internet (even the "premium" $18/day version) was always either extreemely slow (like dial-up modem slow/unusable), or didn't work at all, for me or any of my other travelers.
Had lunch here and the waitstaff and atmosphere were very nice. The host sat me near a window with a great view. I didn't feel like the singler diner I usually do here. They treated me like I was just as important as any other table. I had the fish tacos. They were delicious. I feel like they were a little pricey but that's part of dining in a hotel. Overall great experience. Kudos to the staff especially. I will be back.
Been coming here for years. Great place to relax with the kids. The rooms are always kept up year after year and the pool / slide is the best part
The pool closes way too early. Makes an unpleasant experience
Have to give it to them...Phoenix has one of the most unique and inspiring resorts I've ever visited. When you come here you are literally transported somewhere you can literally trick yourself into believing you aren't really in the middle of a megalopolis. Crazy but awesome!
I stayed here for business trip. The employees are super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is clean at all times and had no problems staying here.
We've eaten at the restaurant twice and had a fantastic experience both times. Order the Ribeye. You won't regret it. One of the best steaks I've ever had. We will be back!
Beautiful desert landscaping in the heart of Tempe/Phoenix. Gorgeous resort with magnificent views in need of some minor updating to make a truly unforgettable experience. Rooms are nice but need to be renovated (old layouts, popcorn ceilings). Pool needs to be resurfaced. Large cracks in walkways and skybridge. Staff is friendly but not knowledgeable or entirely customer focused. A little bit of polish would make this standout among the many gorgeous resorts in Phoenix.
Sunshine, pools, great service, lots to do. Great food. Fun poolside bar.
Service, rooms, atmosphere and scenery were great. The only down side was type of food that were served for the professional event. But I guess that was a decision made by my company and not the hotel.
Great rates tremendous views awesome pool area very friendly and competent staff
Ok, but not great, pool was nice, rooms need updating, but still not bad
Awesome views. Valet was wonderful.. offered waters and suggestions. Front desk was just as nice.. gave an upgrade due to my birthday..unexpected surprise. Even housekeeping acknowledged our presence. All around solid place.
This place is Awesome. Loved it all. Will definately be coming back again. See photos below. Food was at the cafe on site. Bartenders Rock
Just a very nice place to stay. All the staff have been great!
I can t say enough good things about this place. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. Their customer service is fantastic. Everyone I encountered here went above and beyond. The rooms are big and spacious. The products in the bathroom are top-of-the-line and even give you shower gel (I hate soap). There are reading lights on the headboards. Finally a room with enough electrical outlets for me to charge my technology! Shower pressures is good. They even have a fridge in the gym w cold wet towels if you get overheated.
Family friendly resort. Perfect for staycations or weekend getaways.
way over priced! When resorts charge a lot usually they are awesome. But this place is a Rip off, don't ever do a wedding here. We met a gentlemen to help us to our room, he was awesome. After that was a joke. Many people including the Bride got food poisening, meat was raw and un cooked. They charge gratuity so don't tip! Wedding planner they have is a JOKE. Obviously her first time. She was asking us what to do? Lol wow.
$34 for 2 small cheeseburgers. Didn't even come with frys. I don't smoke cigarettes, but was charged $250 for smoking in my room.
These people are greedy, and will suck as much money as they can. It's not as nice as the money thy charge.
And last but most important. It's dated. Choose a better destination next time. If it weren't for family being together, I would have made a big deal out of this. Our family was the ONLY good part. Just don't do it.
Outstanding service. The pools and jacuzzis are to die for.
Stunning hotel with great scenery and views. Lobby was breath taking
Great Wine, staff and scenery. Rooms are fair, food service is great. Secluded location.
Very upscale for the 80's. Vintage water features, expensive food.
Omg this resort is so beautiful! Great views, great service, beautiful pools. I spent only one night but I had great time there. I want to come back there again and again.
Place is very unique, very different from other Marroits. Views are outstanding and staff was incredible, very accommodating. Rooms are a bit dated but everything else makes up for it. Highly recommended walking the grounds at sunset or sunrise.
We had a company meeting there. Nice place, great appetizers, and very polite staff.
Food at the cafe was delicious but overpriced ($21 for a chicken beast and mashed potatoes).
Great location. Some unfriendly reception staff. Very lovely bar and restaurant staff
Great hotel with a big super fun pool for the kids and multiple hot tubs around the property. I have stayed there a few times and it is always great.
Beautiful hotel ... very scenic...
Customer service sucks.... My worst nightmare experience and horrible Marriott customer service
While getting out of the cab at Marriott my wallet slipped in the cab. Soon I realized and went to front desk for help. I called Cab Company but nobody was picking the phone. So I asked the front desk to help me out to go to Airport lost/found area to find the cab (luckily I had the receipt), since I had no credit card or cash with me at that time my only hope was Marriott. I had advance booking at this hotel for 2 nights (I always stay at Marriott when travelling for business). Marriott had my credit card on file and the organization name which has 3 days event in their resort and STILL THEY DID NOT ONLY SAID NO TO HELP ME OUT and ON THE TOP THEY DID NOT ALLOW ME TO CHECK IN THE ROOM AS NO ID MEANS NO ROOM. It was 11:30 pm so I had nobody from my organization or participating organization to call to.
Luckily one guy saw me in the situation at MARRIOTT and figured out I am a genuine guy so he let the Marriott staff use his credit card on file for me to get a room.
I will never stay at Marriott again. Can t believe the hotel I used to recommend to others became my worst nightmare .
Just to let the readers know . I found my wallet the next day cab driver gave it to the cops and they returned it to me.
The staff is outstanding. We stayed here in the honeymoon suite and loved the huge windows with a beautiful view. The pool is enormous placed on the side of the mountain! You won't be disappointed.
Very nice Marriott. Salt water pools with poolside service. The rooms are comfy.
The service there is amazing. The staff there is always up beat too.
Clean and quiet. Well layed out and a great place to get away
Terrible experience. Hosted a large group and dinner event for business. Hotel walked more than half of our group to an airport hotel. Unacceptable. Reccomend you look elsewhere if you are planning a meeting/event in the area.
This is an amazing property withe very large pools and many Jacuzzis through out the mountain side
Come here every year with my family. Amazing hotel. Wonderful, helpful and kind staff. Pool side service is great. Pricey but worth it.
It's really convenient to get everywhere. Room was nice and pool was great!
My favorite place to stay. Easy access to interstate without interstate noise. Forget Scottsdale. This is thee place with quick Uber to ASU area and clubs. This property offers so much that I didn t even leave the grounds for 3 days!
The rooms are fantastic, spacious and we'll kept. They provide a hookup point so you can hookup your laptop to the TV and stream vids or what have you. They charge for internet access, 11.95 a day for the 'lower' tier, and 14.95 a day for the 'faster' tier, though I had trouble streaming Netflix on the faster tier. If you are a reward member the lower tier is free and if you are a silver/gold/Platinum member the 'faster' tier is free.
The hotel is very luxurious and not that expensive. It's carved into the side of a mountain so it's very unique. I recommend staying there.
So, it's a nice place over all. But.. the parking is unnecessarily costly, the property layout is weird, the beds aren't great, and the rooms aren't even as nice as a Holiday Inn Express. If you can get a decent rate, it's worth a stay. But there's no way I'd pay over $200/night.
Not much to review, just went to a brief event and left.
Beautiful site and surroundings but rooms need to be desperately renovated. This place is showing its age.
Clean, comfortable and well priced. The pool area is clean and spacious.
This place has some pretty amazing views! Only a few select locations in the valley to get really fantastic Vistas like these and none are the same! A local landmark, Camelback Mountain stands elegantly to the north only 20 minutes away by car with two of the most famous hiking trails in PHX!
Professional staff and beautiful place for a business meeting.
Spread out luxurious indoor outdoor amenities, especially their breakfast buffet with a view.
DO NOT WASTE $260 FOR MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH HERE, DRIED SALMON WITH BROWN RICE, VERY FEW POACHED EGG ON AGAIN DRIED ROAST BEEF CUT, ASPARAGUS SOGGY, CHEESE PLATE YOU CAN GET FOR $20 AT FRYS. ALSO NEXT DAY MORNING WE ALL GOT FOOD POISONING FROM EATING HERE, OF COURSE THEY SAY THEY CANT FIMD IT CAUSE THEY THREW THE FOOD OUT THAT MORNING. CANT STRESS ENOUGH DONT EAT HERE.
The rooms were a little dated. The staff was helpful but not super accommodating.
