Great views overdone halibut, small portions, big Bill.
This place is nothing less than breathing taking. The staff promptly aided and assisted me in my specific needs and last but not least the view from the 5th floor is spectacular and its a must see. I'd recommend this to anyone that's a fan quality and comfort.
My husband and I were going to stay here but after having lunch at the market cafe we were decided not to. Our server was okay, but the food!!! The charcuterie appetizer was awful! There was only one cheese that tasted good and the meats were disappointing as well. The tortilla soup was fine. And the Turkey BLT was very sloppy. Hardly any bacon just a huge cut of dry Turkey slices, unseasoned and super salty . I thought if anything the coffee would be good but that was like drinking coffee flavored water. Honestly, I thought Marriot had higher standards but it seems like they are just relying on location over quality.
Great hotel with friendly staff and an awesome pool!
Excellent time! Everything was covered and the staff was extremely friendly.
What a weekend! Staying at the Marriott Resort Tempe at the Buttes was a complete treat. I mentioned to the Front Office Manager, Elizabeth, that my wife and I were really into volleyball and she was kind enough to let us use the volleyball courts and even put us in a room near them as well. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, true high quality hospitality. The kids loved the warm pool with the water slide. We also appreciated the 12pm noon checkout time. I feel like this location has something for everyone and I would recommend it to anyone, especially the Spa Package.
Really great place to work, nice and welcoming staff
What a beautiful experience. The place is well kept and clean, plenty of space and solid amenities. Only issue I have with Marriot is the fitness center. It really is only geared towards people who run or use machines and as a lifter, it really limits my workouts when I travel. Just my 2 cents, throw in a bar or a rack!
I really like the rooms and the service. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were nice and big
Place was very easy to get to from highway. Room was average but comfortable while bathroom was very nice. They were updating the facility when I was there so I imagine it will look a lot different in a year. Staff was friendly & accommodating no matter who I talked to. Restaurants all served good food. The place wasn't full of kids but it is a family resort so keep that in mind.
Gorgeous setting built into a butte. Large pool and spacious rooms. Outdoor bar staff is well below average but service is excellent at indoor and patio bar.
beautiful place checking it out for venue
but very expensive!
I was at a job fair. It is a very clean place. One thing a little inconvenient is parking. I had to walk to the top of the hill to get to the event
If your looking for relaxation and beautiful sunsets..you've just found it.
a disaster, without warning they charge $ 5 per package received, after how much one pays for a room.
Very nice place with a comfy retro feel. A little pricey, but all the friendly staff makes up for it.
View beautiful but not the quality Marriott service I'm used to as a Rewards member. I called to request that my son check in early. He was added to the room but could not check in. I was fine being told over the phone that no rooms were ready when he arrived, but was a bit upset when I then was told he could not check in at all because he wasn't 21. The attendant asked me if I had told them he was under 21. I indicated that I had not since the previous day's attendant hadn't made me aware there would be any restrictions on his stay. I mean who would have mentioned someone's age out of the blue? Needless to say, I was not happy that, instead of waiting for us at the airport, he spent money to get to the hotel and couldn't get into the room. They did let him use wifi. When my husband and I arrived, we received free parking, which we appreciated, although they never really said much about the check-in issue. The connecting rooms we had were next to the pool, one of them clearly a former reception area. The bigger room was very spacious, but definitely loud because of the pool and there were no blackout curtains to block light. Finally, when we wanted to get a late check-out, the first thing I was told in denying the request (something that has never happened to me before) was that the next guests for those rooms wanted to check-in early. Then I was told that the attendants had been told not to let anyone stay late. Finally, I received a call saying we could stay in one of the rooms until 1 pm, after waiting to hear from a manager who has not called even now a couple of days after checkout. I don't think it helps to tell one guest they won't be accommodated so that another guest can be accommodated. It left a very bad taste in my mouth, which is why I asked for the manager. All the hellos and welcomes from the outdoor attendants did not overcome the negatives of the desk attendants and inattentive management, but at least it helped me give the hotel a 2 and not a 1. In the past, I have tried to stay in Marriott hotels when I can, even when they are a little farther away from where I would like to be located, because I thought I could count on the service. Even when something has gone wrong with the stay, the overwhelming response has been to try to make it right. I won't go out of my way any more after this stay.
Showing its age in some sections. Sprawling layout makes it a hassle to get around. Great views from Top of the Rock restaurant.
Service was good, smooth check in but confusing layout
Went there for a work event. Beautiful venue also the staff was very polite and friendly!
Ernesto the house keeper supervisor Is amazing. Going above and beyond to help me find my lost bluetooth speaker.
I am very happy with the administration and the service. Also the place is very pleasant with natural and very exquisite atmosphere. The food is very good too and the rooms very comfortable.
Fun place. Staff in the pool area pass out popsicles, take orders poolside etc. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Beautiful grounds & fun desert rock theme! The only reason I'm giving a 4 and not a 5 is due to some small amounts of deferred maintenance in the outdoor areas and the slightly dated rooms.
Conference center was nice and quiet. Setting and restaurant were both good as well.
We went for valentines day to the top of the rock restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the views were also great. The food was okay. We might have to check out this place when you can choose from their regular menu as opposed to their valentines day menu. There were a few choices on the valentines day menu but for the price it was meh at best. Probably will try it again but not rushing back anytime soon.
Very beautiful place, super nice rooms, GREAT customer service
Room was welcoming and clean, morning coffee was a welcome delight. Pools were ample fun and clean. Prices are a bit steep but then again, staying at a resort.
Had the turkey sandwich for lunch. Delicious x and not over priced considering how nice the restaurant is.
Always the perfect summer staycation. You are tucked away in the mountain and hear none of the traffic, but still get amazing views of the city.
Great views! Overall, this place has great landscape, beautiful views, and a wonderful dining area. However, I didn't like the room, it felt as if it hasn't been fully renovates in years. Therefore, I didn't spend a whole night there and there's other Marriott hotels that offer more amenities, then this one for less then the price I was going to pay.
Staff very personable and accommodating top to bottom.
Friendly service, great views! They have two awesome pool areas. Some amenities closed due to Covid-19.
I liked the service. All the questions I had answered very quickly. Everything was very clean until Los Banos.
All of the staff have been truly amazing and helpful. The rooms have a lot of space and the resort itself is beautiful.
One of the most beautiful hotel which stays true to Arizona landscape. The only thing is rooms are on the lower level and sometimes during summer you have to be careful if you are a senior citizen.
The room was ok but the location is fantastic. Very pretty landscaping and relaxing atmosphere.
Beautiful location and very accommodating to needs. The rooms are very nice everything was clean and they didn't bother us.
Soent Christmas day dinner here while traveling. Great location excellent view. Food was decent, service decent as well.
The Friendliest Staff & the Cleanest Hotel in the Valley!
We booked a room in advance through Priceline. When we arrived they asked for a security deposit. We had no problem paying the extra cost. They would not accept our debit cards or cash, and we did no have a credit card on hand. Our debit cards are temporary and don't have our names on them (our fault). It was 9 pm at night and we were an hour away from home. They cancelled our stay. We were extremely excited to stay there for a birthday get away and we are greving the loss of a family member. They're terrified of fraud and vandalism, so they lost good customers, and it was a horrible experience. Lesson learned, bring a credit card everywhere. Luckily we were able to get a refund through Priceline. I think we were still charged a resort fee...on the same card they wouldn't accept. The location looks nice though! Wish I could have left a better review. I hope in the future they can verify a temporary debit card. We've had the bank accounts for 12+ yrs, and our bank could have easily confirmed that.
Nice and friendly staff. Pools / hot tubs and slide were great. Rooms were nice but was expecting more.
The staff were very professional and courteous. Slightly older building but computer friendly. Slow wifi. Had lunch there, good. Loved the mashed parsnips.
Nice upper class place for familys gave it 5 stars until ..then the Marriott let non guest in my room returns 2and half hrs later to find them in my room no one at the front desk knew who called or y ....to find out they went ahead and let them in the hotel treated me poorly after I had a life event happen to me there ...I will never stay here the employee ask personal questions they shouldn't in front of staff and guest. I was dumb founded a non management asked what they did in front of guest after they told me I had no dog I came with ....I will be contacting Corp..Marriott in regards to my issue . Resulting in my rights being broken bad by them ... treated like it was my fault and ask to leave ..
Solid place, goregous around, hotel is clean, huge pool and hot tub. Decent pricing for food and drinks for a hotel bar. Made me laugh that you get WiFi for free in the lobby but you pay for it in the room and conference Hall though. Seems ticky tacky
The food was delicious. Portions were kind of small in relation to the price but filling.
The view was absolutely amazing!
Great service, good food. Very romantic and beautiful view, Guillermo was a great waiter.
Resort-level service and facilities. Staff was personal and helpful. Concierge left a personal note and card thanking us for our stay with our bill.
We plan to skip the Bahamas and go back to Phoenix instead.
We enjoyed our anniversary staycation here for the weekend. Breakfast buffet, and poolside service are good. Dinner at the Top of the Rock was excellent!
Nice, clean surroundings & exceptional value you'd expect from Marriott.
As a platinum premier member I stay at a LOT of Marriotts. After a while all the properties become very similar. It's the people who make the difference. Katie was exceptional. She went out of her way to make sure everything made for the best get away we have had in years. I highly recommend this property.
Good place good service for not being a 5 star it's nice
Nice pool . Gym is too small considering the size of the hotel. Bedrooms are OK only. Don't match the price tag of an high end hotel
Absolutely beautiful location. It felt like a campus with pools and spas tucked into various nooks of the hillside. Extremely friendly staff and spacious rooms. It might have been in the middle of downtown burr it felt like it's own private bubble tucked away from everything.
