The Boon Group is a rare find in this industry. I appreciate their focus on innovation and more importantly how much they care about their customers. I have been working with them for a long time and I trust their leadership. They are working on some big improvements that will enhance the customer's experience but also will bring some needed changes in the health care system. I highly endorse working with them.

The Boon Group is a great place to work and do business with! Working here has been a great learning opportunity for me. I love the dynamics and the positive energy I am surrounded with. Management is always there to promote and value the employees.
They are always working on improving the customer experience and providing a better solution.

Try to contact their "customer service" two hour wait and twice disconnected and constantly being told your next. Now when you call you get recording saying that due to heavy call volume your call will not be accepted. The only thing the Boon Group accepts is your money.

Worst insurance company ever! I contacted the benefits eligibility department to ensure coverage for a doctor's visit and was told that I was covered. I received a letter from Boon Group a week later stating that my visit wasn't covered. I contacted customer service and was told that it should have been covered and they would resubmit the claim to the claims department. I was also told that I'd receive a phone call and a letter in the mail regarding the issue. A month later and I have yet to receive anything. I've been on hold for over an hour just to speak with someone.....waiting...waiting...waiting......

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I had e ekg and blood work. It cost $1700.00. the bill I get said that only $120.00 was pending. They should have paid at least 80 percent. Not pleased at all. I will look for another insurance. I got this through employer.

This company only takes your money. Had annual preventative visit & screenings done 7 months ago. Clinic submitted claim 4 times via electronic, email & paper....still 7 months later my annual preventative visit isn't paid. Now I'm being told they don't cover screnings for things such as cervical cancer or HPV!! I asked when claim would be paid & was informed to be patient & it was being processed. Customer service told me claims were high & with upcoming open enrollment that it was impossible to say when my claim would be paid. To think that I pay my monthly premiums for such horrible service. I have nothing positive to say about any service that the Boon Group provides.

Horrible company, good luck on having them pay any bills. They don't even cover anything to do with pregnancy, my wife and owe over 10grand because they suck. Then don't go to the ER or Urgent care they will stick you with the Bill and not cover crap. They are horrible as the other reviews state stay away, unless you like medical bills up where the sun don't shine. They will not return phone calls from anyone and take a large portion of money out per paycheck not sure what this goes towards, but not towards insurance.

In looking at pretty much 100% of the reviews with complaints that are stating that "The Boon Group is a horrible insurance company!" or "All they do is take your money and not cover you for anything!" Well for those who do not know The Boon Group is a Third party administrator for the insurance companies they are NOT the actual insurance company.Meaning they pretty much work for the insurance company to administer the benefits and process claims. The actual insurance gives YOUR employer benefits to choose from, at this point the EMPLOYER will choose a list of things that THEY want to be covered and things that THEY want to be excluded, also all money being taken from your check does in fact go to your employer to pay the premiums to the actual insurance company, your money does not go to The Boon Group. At that point The Boon Group receives these lists that were created by the employer and this is what they are reading from when you call in to see exactly what is covered under your plan. The Boon Group has no way that they can alter or "push through" benefits so that they are covered. Again The Boon Group is NOT the actual insurance company and have no say so in what benefits are covered under each group's plan. I hope this helps others to understand how it works there.

"ZERO STARS" This company is the administrator for my husbands employer health insurance. We called for an approved provider to have a test done - we used the provider given - then they denied the claim because we used the provider. When I called to find out why the claim was denied I was even told the previous person made a mistake. Now I have to pay for a $4000 test. Filing a complaint with US Dept of Labor - they should not be able to get away with this.

I'm sitting at dentist office, waiting to get a same day crown replacement. After the office manager was on hold with boon for 15min, they answer and let us know I have to wait 12 months from diagnosis to get a crown. How does that make any sense!? I'm furious. It's one thing after another with this company I'm forced to use through my employer. Its unreal the mistakes they have made on thier end and now I'm paying with my time and money. I paid a premium every month that I have email proof of. Turns out 8 months in to paying they finally let me know. They let me know when I called to get some procedure codes priced and they tell me I'm inactive! This company is terrible. So unfair. I'm reporting to the better business bureau.

This company probably has the worst customer service I've ever experienced, mostly because it's nonexistent. It is impossible to get them one the phone, and they provide no working emails or phone #'s. I have to use them because my insurance is through my employer, otherwise I would have left long ago.

If you have a choice, stay far away from Boone Group.

All the reviews are true to my own experience. They are taking peoples hard earn money and not providing the services they approved, leaving people in huge debt. Do Not Sign Up For The Employer Insurance With Boon Group First Health Network. You Can't Op Out Until Open Enrollment, Leaving You Paying For Insurance That They Never Intended To Give Despite Approving The Service. So Basically You Are Paying For Services That Are Nonexistent.

Beware very aware. I had over 760$ a month taken from my pay check for this supposed health insurance AND MY CREDIT CARD BECAME MY HEALTH INSURANCE. I had alot of claims from Dr visits er visits etc. Each claim was denied because according to them (I HAD NO COVERAGE!!! AND HAD NOT EVEN BEEN A MEMBER). I called repeatedly for over a year and they said " the mistake was because of a computer update". The kept sending new insurance cards every 3 months or so to my coworkers and I with the same info on it? . They even sent reps to my work place to straighten things out and never did. My Drs kept asking if I changed insurance companys or if I even had coverage?
As a result I had over (10,000$) taken from my paycheck for a plastic insurance card ( NOT HEALTH COVERAGE). I had to pay out of pocket rates to drs for health services which amounted to over (20,000$).
BUYER BEWARE THEY ARE THEIVES THAT DENIE THAT YOU ARE EVEN A PLAN MEMBER AND LEAVE YOU WITH MEDICAL BILLS THAT CAN PUT YOU IN BANKRUPTCY!!!!
In the end of 2018 they called and said they had straightened everything out with the Drs payments and they would be sending me a statement showing the corrections. However it's been over a month and I have yet to receive anything of the sort. However I did receive another insurance card from them and I haven't had there insurance in over 2 months because I got a new job with another company?

If I could they would get no stars..... In fact maybe minus 2 . If you ever see them offered by your union or employer, run. They are garbage. Paid out of pocket for eye exam and glasses OVER A YEAR AGO now and STILL waiting for a 90$ reimbursement. Emails to supervisors, probably close to 20 calls. All the same result. Nothing. The best thing about this scam will be when I hear they go out of business. Scumbags

Had benefits through them. No way to find out about your account. They don't issue statements or have online access. In order to find out anything you have to be on the phone for an hour before you get a human. They lost my check - yes, you heard it right, you can only pay by check!!! - and I lost my benefits. Someone was supposed to look into it and call me back in 24-48 hrs and guess what? No one called me back. Avoid at all cost.

Forced to have insurance because of AHCA. So I got the bare minimum required by law and got stuck with this company. Went for a covered preventive physical at a in network doctor over a year ago and they still refuse to pay the bill , claiming the doctor is out of network even though he is listed on the website they send you to for a primary care physician, even the people that run the website said yes its a network doctor. If things don't get resolved soon ill report them to the department of insurance and higher a lawyer at their expense so they do what they are obligated to do by taking my money each week for a service they are not providing.

Antiquated technology (like 20 years old), incompetent support, inconsistent messaging, untimely internal processes, over priced, and inflexible in their ability to meet any customer needs. It took me 7 phone calls over 4 weeks to figure out how to pay them. Would recommend, quite literally, anyone else.

I have yet to have anything covered by them, at least as far as I can see. Dupliacte documents showing payment and non-payment for the same visit but the non-payment dated later??? My work uses them, so I feel I'm stuck. $1400 owed to Quest now because Boon Group covered none of the blood testing ordered by my doctors.

Well, I understand why this place has the reviews it has. My company, Clifford B Finkle Jr has chosen this company to be its healthcare company. They decided to take our health and welfare money out of our checks, the check before Christmas. Surprised everyone, no notice. When contacted, they said this group must have never sent out the packets. All the information we need is in the packets, that we've never received. Bang up way to start!!! Excellent customer service??? Where's my packet????

DO NOT USE!!! This is the most ridiculous employee insurance I have ever encountered. Nothing is paid while they deduct money from your hard-earned paycheck. There is no way an employee should have to pay thousands of dollars in bills because supposedly in-network doctors/clinics are deemed out-of-network when you use them. If the doctor is in-network and works in a clinic, then you pay out-of-network pricing. I believe this should be considered a scam. I work doubly hard in order to pay for the things I need (ie. insurance) Therefore, I do not expect to be ROBBED!! But this insurance is doing just that! DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE!!!

IF I COULD ONLY GIVE "NO STARS" ! BIG RIP OFF ! STAY AWAY ! My hospital billed out a claim and they sent it back stating it was rejected due to the hospital not being in the "network". Hospital responded by stating it was in the network and the BOON GROUP said to resend the claim.
The claim was resent and then to my dismay was rejected AGAIN, stating it was past the deadline time to file , leaving me stuck with the entire bill.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT! JUST READ ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS HERE !

Horrible. They are diligent in taking your money for premiums, but the coverage is basically non-existent. You have a claim submitted, they will find some foolish reason to reject it. You ll end up paying out-of-pocket as I did. Even if they tell you over the phone that your provider is in-network & covered, they will still find some reason to not pay. They know every loophole in the book to get out of covering services. I m sure they do their homework & hire lawyers so they re refusal to pay is technically legal , but their practices are unethical for sure. Once open enrollment came up, I couldn t get rid of them soon enough.Please do not sign up with Boon.

Absolutely worthless! It covers less than Medicare in a lot of cases, and I've been trying to find doctors willing to take it for over a year with no luck - several have told me they flat out refuse to work with this company because they are so terrible and don't pay out.
I'm so sorry to anyone else who's stuck with this through their employer!

Horrible insurance group.
I have a so called preventive plan through my employer. Which I found out after the fact.
Upset at my employer too for considering this company.
It was the only affordable plan available. All other plans were over $1200 a month.
The only preventive part of this plan is that I am prevented from going to most doctors. They won't pay a lot of claims and are continually changing their policies.
Most of the doctors in this area work at or around the Regional Hospital.
With this policy if any claim that has the word "hospital" is flagged and not covered.
So this forces me to have to drive hours away to see a doctor. This makes this plan unaffordable due to travel expenses. Totally ridiculous.
If you can look around, before even thinking about this insurance group.

I had boon group ins. through my job and every week for years boon gladly took money out of my paycheck and then I went and had a colonoscopy and the doctor found a growth in my colon and so I had partial colectomy surgery and the growth and part of my colon was taken out and the hospital bill was $115,000 and boon only paid $5,000 of it saying everything else is out of network and refuses to pay anymore and now I am stuck paying the rest and now the hospital has sent my account to collections and the state insurance commissioner and attorney general said there is nothing they can do,this company is worthless in my opinion

Company is a JOKE! Had coverage with them with a previous employer and they hardly cover anything. I specifically asked the representative if they covered urgent care and she said "absolutely". Over a year later I got a bill for my urgent care visit and when I called to get it sorted out I find out its actually not... Customer service SUCKS! I was on hold for over an hour just to get denied! Please go anywhere else then with this company!!!

NOW AFTER A YEAR BOON IS CLAIMING THAT INSURANCE WAS TERMINATED FOR A YEAR. LACK OF SIMPLE COMMUNICAITON.. THEY SHOULD LOSE ALL THEIR COMPUTERS AND EMAILS AND WORK WITH PENS AND PAPERS ONLY..

You'll notice the only 5 star ratings are from THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES! Google allows this? Cause Yelp sure doesn't. HORRIBLE company I am forced to use as my insurance through my employer. It's SO terrible, I'm looking into another agency just to get better insurance. Called multiple times about benefits and was told something different EVERY SINGLE TIME. They use every loophole imaginable to not pay full benefits that they clearly state you have in your benefits summary. They need to be sued and reported for the fraudulent denials they are issuing. Yes, it's THAT bad. Instead of just Google, also file a report with the BBB and with your state insurance department.

Worst administrative insurance group ever. The people tell you how to locate in-network doctors, then lie to you and tell you that the doctor's aren't in network, even when you have pictures to prove them wrong. Complete ignorance. For cream on the cake, they never answer the phone. It is nearly impossible to contact these people. Run fast.
