Constantly phoning and complaining about missed bin collections up Grotto Road. Fill the complainant form out on the internet, it won't submit because I apparently don't know my own email address as it's invalid?
If it's not the black bags not being picked up it's the recycling!
How can one lorry manage to get up the road but the other ( being the same size) can't!!!!!
It's beyond a joke T.D.C.

They dont listen to the electorate (goodness knows where the ciuncik tax goes). Graffiti everywhere. Rubbish everywhere. Poor toilet facilities (especially in Botany Bay). Vans and Caravans parked all along Palm Bay in the bays (no road tax?? ). Generally a terrible parking policy and enforcement. I could go on

What a joke these lot are. Council tax is more expensive than London, but heaven forbid your bin isn't pushed the whole 5 foot down your path, because it won't get emptied. Litter, leaves left to rot and collect in footpaths, a nice little haven for the lazy selfish dog cack dispensers to hide it in. Especially brilliant near schools. Can't wait to move out of Thanet. Shall we supply dog mess bins and clean up the numerous amounts of cack? Nah...

What is point of this council? I have just called a number on their website which informs me that it is unmanned and tells me not to leave a message as it won't be answered!!..the message goes on to give me another number which is only answered by another message telling me to leave a message!!. Oh dear pathetic isn't it? They are supposed to be working for you! They are supposed to be public servants. However, they act like you are a problem that they really don't want to deal with...while they build FAT public sector pensions on the back of shoddy service and un-sackable indifference!. Councils like to blame national government in order to divert you from their own sheer incompetence when we know nothing is as incompetent as your local council....they don't work to a bottom line so obviously don't give a fig. Shame on them and shame on us for putting up with it.

Absolutely useless I've not had a kitchen for nearly 2 years, I have contacted them 4 times now and along with there useless contractors still nothing, I can't seem to get any maintenance done to my council flat in Margate, they let this flat out to me in this condition with the promise of work going to be done and still nothing, it took Mears 4 weeks and 4 different guys to fix 1 shower I wonder how much they charged the council, sounds like there is something dodgy going on with government contracts,

Where to start!!!! Bins emptied mostly all over the Road where i live, so i have been out picking it all up, if you call they don't care. Towns and small businesses are on their knees due to high parking charges driving business away. High council tax for no service, no Police, - They now tax empty properties if you own an investment property saying this has been an success ( its only a success because if you don't you are taken to Court or you get a fine) No other County/areas Council does this as far as im aware. They are a disgrace and all you have to do is drive around Thanet to see what a mess it is... there is plenty more to say but just read the comments on here and make up your own mind.

Margate has to be the dirtiest place I have ever seen

I literally heard someone had answered my call, then smashed phone finishing call. When I tried another time no one answered for more than 3 minutes. Recycling and bins sector.

Just visited Margate for the first time in years and it s a disgrace. What are the council spending money on because it s definitely not cleaning. Disgusting place. Rubbish everywhere on many streets.

I need a licence to work and this council are stopping me from doing so because they are completely incompetent cant get through to anyone.
I left a review yesterday (See below) which has been replied to by some one not giving me any details of who or how to get in touch with the responder ...so i call the council today only to get exactly the same response as i did yesterday and also their main switchboard is "experiencing difficulties" according to the message on their main phone number..so i can't talk to anyone at all!!! .I suspect its friday so they cant be bothered to talk to anyone just in case it involves them in some work which may take them close to knocking off time...Seriously? their web site is very poor. their phone system is down who the hell is running this place?

I called in at the library, as I was told to claim HB there, I was told I needed to do so online, and someone would help re the computer, but I couldn't get any help, so I asked for a paper form to complete, was told can only claim online now... ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no care or compassion... ..

I am the manager at a business in Broadstairs high street, we pay for our commercial waste to be removed by Thanet District Council, they have failed to respond to us on several occasions and are ignoring our complaints, there is no one to speak with directly, we have left messages and completed forms but still no response. We have no where to store waste and the bins are overflowing.

Today out riding my horse in manston I came across two "gentlemen" driving a R-reg Toyota and both clearly wearing Thanet Council embroidered fleeces.
They flew round preston court blind corner and had me and the horse been another 15ft up the road it would have a very different ending!
He then continued to drive at me at speed so i waved my arm at him to slow
(Baring in mind im wearing hi-viz and riding a horse over 17hh you cant really miss me)
As he get closer he slows but continues to drive towards me ..
At this point i ask him to stop his car so i can get past as if you havent noticed hes not the smallest horse (sarcasm at its finest)
His response was "ill stop driving when you get road tax for that thing" then forcing me and the horse off the ridge of the road!
This is a single lane country road and these are people that work for the council!
Had I been on a spooky or young horse or less experienced rider the situation could have been so much worse!
So dangerous, shame on you TDC for having people like this represent you.

I am surprised at the hostile reviews, I never find the people with whom I deal at TDC anything but helpful and friendly

So many people are complaining about the lack of bin emptying around Thanet. It's really disgusting that services have been cut so much considering that this is a tourist area. Disgusting

What use is a council that can't even clear the rubbish?

The staff are rude, and constantly lie all the time!

Margate council should be ashamed of themselves.. a lovely town has garbage laying on the streets because the council just won t do there job and keep the town clean.. what the hell do they think they are doing to let the streets get into this state ?

Enforcement officers discriminating against disabled people who use blue badges absolutely disgusting and illegal

Twice this month and twice last May they have failed to empty my bins. How difficult is it to follow a route and empty all the bins put out???

I would just like to thank the business support team, they are doing a good job getting businesses ready to bounce back after the restrictions are lifted. Just attended an on-line session which was productive and helpful. Also the grant support which has allowed us to continue in business without support businesses would not be able to continue. I am sure Thanet will be the place to be when restrictions are lifted such a great place to live and visit.

Rubbish council. Have been waiting 25 for anyone to answer my call!!!! My food bin has been missed two weeks on trot!!!!! Used to be under Canterbury Council they were so much better

If I could give zero stars I would. There is a saying TDC lives by; 'If a job is worth doing we won't do it!' Bin collections; street cleaning; high rates and even higher parking charges along with mismanaged projects and stalled projects mean that TDC's half arsed management have excelled in mediocrity.

Aweful bin collection record. Last 6 months only about 30 percent collected on collection day. Bins in Richmond Road and Marlborough Rd Ramsgate uncollected 2 weeks running. Smelly and putrid contents now. Been ready for collection for weeks. Don't know why I pay council tax.

Try getting hold of someone to talk to is an absolute nightmare. Moved into the area a month ago set up a direct debit for council tax but then get a demand for unpaid tax. No sign of the DD we set up...... canceled our old DD to Dartford council on the same day got a refund no problem. Can't even get our post code right so what chance is there ?? need a kick up the backside big time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The garbage collection in this area is disgusting left my bins within two metres of the gate and the bin men are too lazy to take them out of the gate.
The bin has been full for more than two weeks now and is becoming a health hazard does anyone else have this problem?

Thanet District council are a disgrace I have had connections with Thanet for 60 years I have never seen it so run down and neglected -the council have no idea they remote bureaucrats who can t look beyond their noses - I remember the wonderful hotels of Clifftonville -the packed and vibrant Winter gardens -the area had a buzz about it -it s just gone downhill under successive councils with no vision or forward planning

Absolute shambles! I never known a organisation that mismanaged millions of pounds of taxpayers money. The service they provide is shocking at all levels! There way of cutting money is closing public toilets and community projects whilst revamping thier offices and sharing wage increases for their executive management team. Shame on you! One of the reasons I do not live in the area any more!

I reported a "fly tip" near my house at 2.30pm 2nd October 2019 (a large mattress blocking the pavement) and it was cleared by 7am the following day 3rd October. Great service from TDC.

Did not collect bins two times. I phoned them and they said that they will send back the car but all week passed and there was no collection and there comes Friday - again no collection!!! The worst council I have lived in.

Its imposible to do anything with them, they have no idea what they are doing over there, they cant even point you in the right direction when you ask for information

This has to be the worst place I have ever lived, for rubbish collection . I have given 1 star as I am unable to give 0 or -1 ratings. I have lost count of the missed collection that have occurred over the past two years and I have no idea why the person who is responsible for running this department still has a job!
All I have seen since moving to Ramsgate is endless rubbish and filth blowing around the streets. The recycle collection was missed, again last week and as a consequence there has been cardboard and paper products blown around for the last 7 days. Added to the endless bags of dog waste that are dumped on the streets I am surprised that we still have visitors and tourist from outside the town. Bad for residence, Bad for business and Bad for the well being of the Town. On the plus side someone is being paid a nice salary, from our taxes, for doing a pretty sub standard job.

Recycling Bins have not been collected for the 2nd time, 2 weeks ago they were not collected and again this week. I have no more room to recycle, complaining gets you no where and trying to speak to anyone on the telephone is a waste of time

The council has been ripping down hedgerows with mechanical flailing machines at the waterfront during nesting season. This is in complete disregard to the country s climate emergency declaration.

I could leave no stars trust me i would Thanet district council helped me with temporary accommodation but unfortunately paramount property services aswell did not come out and do the repair work so i moved out of the area

Try calling them ..and you will issue them with 1 star review..Disgusting automated service.."Due to high call volumes"....or lack of employing people....Very frustrating.

Awful council, expect good service for the council tax they charge. Only got 1 star as you can't award nil.

i have lived in thanet most of my life mainly ramsgate it used to be lovely place to live but now ifind it dirty. the refuse x
collectors are rubbish they spill everything all over the road and do not pick up after themselves we do not have the road sweepers any more so if you want it to look acceptable outside your own house you end up sweeping outside your own place. is there anything that can be done about this it is no wonder we do not have many visitors anymore. surely it would be advantages to sort this out and then concentrate the things that will cost a lot more money

I'm so cross!!! What is the point of us all recycling if they just come round with the one section van and chuck it all in??!!! That's my black bin/blue bin and red bag all mixed and contaminated now! All to overflow landfill... great one thanet council!!!!

It's a poor, run down area which always votes Tory. Now with a bit of ukip thrown in. One of the worst performing on the country. The people of Thanet have the council they deserve until they vote this rabble out.

Unhelpful and defensive. I realise people may shout down the line but I wasn't one of them. It felt like the lady on the switchboard hadn't been given any information to help people in times of crisis and because of this, she felt stupid. Either way, phoning your local authority should be useful this was a bad experience on all accounts

The bin men have been this morning ,how do i know this ! because there is a trail of litter up the entire road,that wasn't there earlier.Disgusting!!

Just horrible situation ,nobody collecting rubbish over 2 weeks ,maggots ,fleas ,bad smell around and it's happened not one or two times but periodically ,somebody HELP to clean up Grotto Road in Margate !

Thanet is like a third world country, filthy disgusting streets, pot holed roads, graffiti everywhere and feral kids roaming in gangs smoking joints probably supplied by their deadbeat unemployed slacker parents. South East Kent is the toilet of England with London Councils now buying up all the farmland and building houses for the unemployed families they don t want living in their area. I have traveled most of the UK and have never seen such a filthy place as South East Kent. South East Kent is definitely not part of the garden of England, you struggle to find any trees or farmland because they have been chopped down and built on.

They are simply not helping the residents of Thanet in any meaningful way, in fact it appears we are not much more than a commodity.

Lived in Thanet for over 20 years before moving a year ago to Derbyshire. TDC is by far the worst local authority I've ever had to deal with in my almost 70 years living on the planet. Long phone queues plus dour, unhelpful staff when finally connected. Completely unfit for purpose.

Thankfully my current local authority (South Derbyshire District Council) is truly excellent and shows what a local council can achieve - phone calls answered promptly by cheerful, friendly and helpful staff with issues quickly resolved. TDC take a lesson!!

Where to start? Our local services have gone downhill to the point that my refuse collection has not been made correctly for a year. I'm either e-mailing them or on the phone to them on a weekly basis and still they can't get it right! Also no road sweeping service for months. There slogan is "Let's sort it out". If only they would!!!!

I want to thank Thanet District Council for their swift response for an overflowing litter bin in a local park in Birchington. It is clear that Thanet compared to other councils does have its work cut out for them, limited funding and an increased population are all factors. In the end education and a sense of community is needed for real change and this is something we all can embrace. Lets all try and keep the isle clean and respectable and lead by example so we can make change happen.

Loads of fly tipping around Margate that needs sorting and generally messy appearance of streets

Thank you to the Council Tax department who helped us fill out a form online and then turned everything around and got a new bill to us within a week. Very efficient and friendly service.

Really good council despite the hit of Bob #leaving. Post daily useful updates on there Instagram account telling #residents about the news and happenings on the Isle. Probably the best local council in the Thanet area.

They have got an app that you download from the Play Store my Thanet . Which is excellent to report dumped rubbish bad road signs except you need to try it to help get Thanet it better

Does its own thing. Doesn't listen to its residents who pay their Council Tax to them. Ignores the notion of democracy and rules with a secretive Cabinet. Behaves in a highhanded and arrogant way.

We attract holiday makers with millions of pounds put into dreamland and the Turner? But our kids are left to kick balls in a concrete cage for a community centre and parks where the local smack heads hold their daily rituals with their 500 pound PIP money a week.

Don't come to margate the morale is so dead our own council don't even care anymore.

Thanet may have its faults, BUT it is climbing a long hard road back to a brighter future, l know there are still a lot of things that need addressing but in-time one hopes that action will take place to deal with them

I ve been let down by poor service at council in the past - but this new non-service is a whole other level of uselessness - if I could give minus 5 stars, I would. Website terrible & the confusing info did not answer my very straight forward questions. Council want money for making enquiries - which are now called pre-applications . Funny how all the councils are paying salaries for this non servide, yet the rest of us are scrabbling around trying to find work.

Having visited a few times for about a week at a time , shame to see Margate centre shops , so many closed down , very large shopping complex just out-side , but no atmosphere , as you would get in the centre .

Without a car , the out-side precinct is very large and spread , how you would carry shopping around beats me .

But there is one shop we go to regular , having tried others , to eat .
THE BEANO CAFE 107 CANTERBURY ROAD , oposite the old Spa Hospital.

Staff friendly , helpfull , prices quite fare , FOOD GOOD , why we always visit it . Always nice and clean .

Hope it stays in same ownership . for our next visit ?

Thank you Craig@TDC. And Thank you Thanet council. I fall under those that have to self isolate/ shield themselves for 12 weeks as advised by government and NHS. A few weeks back I also notified GOV.org That I consider myself vunerable and at increased risk of severe illness. With outside support near zero.
Today, I had a phone call From Thanet council. Asking if I was coping, If I needed help with prescriptions or food. Or if there was anything they could help with, and a number to call for support if I need it. Genuine kindness felt.
