I sent my son to Cal Farley's Boy Ranch for the summer to explore a different life. My son told me that he has a wonderful summer in the Boy Ranch. He learns so much and grows as a loving, tall and strong boy after the summer. My son said that he is going to miss the nice house parents, his good friends and especially the delicious lunch & dinner from the ranch. Cal Farley's Boy Ranch gives the kids the healthy buffet lunch everyday. The Ranch always makes sure that the kids have enough proteins ( meat or fish), milk, fruits and vegetables everyday. The house parents cook the healthy dinner for the boys every night. There are 2 big refrigerator in the house's parents that are always filled with milk, fruit juice, bread, cheese, for 10 boys there. The house parents teach the boys responsible for their success and failure. The boys are taught to respect women and adults, obey the rules at the house. The house parents love and care about the boys. They make sure that the boys are safe and free from harm. The house's parents only go to bed after all the boys slept. The food and medicine are inspected carefully before giving to the boys.
Cal Farley Boy Ranch is not a juvenile detention facility or treatment center! So the Boy Ranch won't just take any boys. This is the place where gives the young people the love they deserve. Cal Farley Boy Ranch helps raising the orphans or children from the single parent who needs the basic needs, safety, achievement, power and adventure. Unfortunately, the boy has to meet the Ranch's requirements to get accepted by Cal Farley's Boy Ranch. The process time is 6 weeks.
Your child is going to be safe and have a great life at Cal Farley Boy Ranch. The Ranch hosts its own K-12 school that is approved through the texas education agency. The Ranch also has its own museum, doctors, little hospital, big swimming pool, horses......There are about 250 boys and girls that are from 7 year old to 17 year old who live in the Ranch now. Most 16 year old and 17 year old boy/ girl came to the Boy Ranch since they were young. So they can be trained well and stayed in the Ranch until they turn 17 year old. The Boy Ranch doesn't take the boy/girl who is older than 15 year old because he/she is too old to train!
My son has a happy summer in the ranch. The Boy Ranch teaches him how to ride the horse, do his own laundry, clean his room, pick up trash at community service and wash cars. My son told me that he is going to miss the fun time to swim and play video game with his friends in the ranch.
Thank you very much Mrs. Lori Pletcher (intake specialist), Mrs. Courtney Corrales ( case worker) and the house's parent of Cal Farley's Boy Ranch for turning my son to a wonderful young man after the summer. He learns so much about life...my son now appreciates me much more than before. He knows that he is lucky to have me as his mother. Many thanks to Cal Farley's Boy Ranch for teaching my son to choose right from wrong, have more dreams than memories, more opportunities than chances, more hard work than luck and more friends than acquaintances. Thanks for watching over my son everyday to make sure that he is happy and safe. We promise to come back to visit and support the Boy Ranch when we have a chance. I recommend Cal Farley's Boy Ranch for the children from 7 year old to 15 year old who needs the basic needs in life like love, food, education and place to live. This is not a treatment center. If your child has mental issue, or emotional unstable or drug problems or criminal record, this is not the place for your child.

This place is doing a really good thing helping young men and women become strong adults. By giving them a full and great up bringing that many of our youth miss out on. What's even more impressive is that they don't just toss out the kids to a cruel world. They help many of them u til they can function in the world. Even if a few never quite grasp it fully and need help for their whole lives. With housingfor graduates scholarships and a food pantry. With so many helpful friendly people in the staff this place is a real contribution to their community and the entire world. Thank you Cal Farley, Thank you to all the great folks that followed his dream. Many of lives are better due to your work.

One of my nephew was accepted into this program during high school. He was never a bad kid, but had some trouble with different influences and struggled in some classes/subjects.

At Boy's Ranch, he blossomed and exceeded the expectations of himself! Sometimes, as people we tend to limit ourselves to our environment and what we think we can do. Outside of that environment, one learns that the possibilities are endless. He thoroughly learned this lesson. He completely turned his academic record around and became valedictorian of his graduation class. He also rode bulls in the rodeo (an idea that is so foreign to a kid from the suburbs of New Jersey), earned his drivers license, traveled to Colorado, learned how to ski and became a responsible young man and role model. He earned a scholarship to attend university and will be graduating soon.

Much of his success is attributed to the hardwork and dedication that he set forth here after his homesickness wore off. The staff members are caring, patient, positive and stable/consistent towards the youth at the ranch and school. Many praises to this institution!!!

About Cal Farley's

Cal Farley's: Providing a Safe Haven for At-Risk Children

Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch is a non-profit organization that has been providing a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk children since 1939. The residential community is located in the Texas Panhandle and serves boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 18.

The mission of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch is to provide children with the tools they need to become successful, productive members of society. The organization believes that every child deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.

At Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, children are surrounded by caring adults who provide them with structure, support, and guidance. The staff includes teachers, counselors, coaches, and mentors who work together to create an environment where children can thrive.

One of the unique aspects of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch is its focus on education. The organization operates its own accredited school system that provides students with a high-quality education from kindergarten through high school graduation. In addition to traditional academic subjects like math and science, students also have access to vocational training programs in fields like agriculture and mechanics.

Another important aspect of life at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch is athletics. Sports teams are an integral part of the community culture at Boys Ranch. Students have access to state-of-the-art athletic facilities where they can participate in sports like football, basketball, baseball/softball as well as track & field events.

In addition to academics and athletics, Cal Farley's offers various extracurricular activities such as music lessons (guitar/piano), art classes (painting/drawing), drama club etc., which help students develop their talents outside the classroom setting.

The residential community also provides opportunities for spiritual growth through weekly chapel services led by chaplains who offer guidance on faith-based issues while respecting each student's individual beliefs or religion.

Cal Farley's has been recognized nationally for its innovative approach towards helping at-risk youth overcome challenges such as poverty or abuse/neglect situations they may have faced before coming here; it has received numerous awards including recognition from President Ronald Reagan himself!

Overall Cal Farleys' commitment towards providing quality care & education combined with strong values makes it one-of-a-kind place where kids can grow up feeling loved & supported while learning valuable life skills along the way!
