It was an awesome adventure. My family and I had a great time. It would have been 5 stars but it was really expensive. Everything was way overpriced. Even the stuff that I buy every year was way more then usual.
Oh, it is just wonderful! They expect all of their people to really play their parts! I would go everyday if I could! I always knew they were simply fantastic, but after seeing other places' take on a renaissance festival... Well, they certainly have nothing on our own!
Super fun to go to! I went with a few friends on a school trip and had a great time! There are a lot of games and things to see like live shows and songs. So many people where dressed up which game the entire place a really fun atmosphere! Everyone speaks with accents which was interesting. There are plenty of food options but there is usually a really long line. A great place to take kids especially since 12 and younger get in free!
Employees were so rude. The food was not great, the shops were very expensive, and the items from the shop are pointless. Very boring and they didn t even provide any maps. I don t recommend going here.
I go every year during pirate weekend! This place is a must. Amazing food!!! All kinds of entertainment, shops and events going on. Adult friendly, kid friendly, please camp! Stay the weekend! I cant say enough good things about this place!! Just fyi, get ready to walk and walk and walk. It's a huge area to see a lot of beautifully made hand and crafted things and every step is worth it! Enjoy!
Had a great time at the renaissance festival. The kids enjoyed the rides and attractions they offer their. Even us adults enjoyed the attractions with the kids. only thing I advise is that when it comes to the fireworks show.people don't respect social distance. I had that distance for.my kids by putting my stuff in front of me on the seats so my kids had that distance this may look rude but its for.my and kids protection. Some people did try to maintain the distance others didn't really care. I advise to be cautious on this part. Due that alot of people don't keep the distance and not wearing their mask at all.
Family fun, plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied for the day. That said, the only other real attraction is the market which is spread throughout the festival. I found a second visit somewhat dull, but if you have the money Im sure you could enjoy yourself.
I love the Texas Renaissance Festival. My friends and I drive down every year. There are lots of wonderful shows to watch, great music to listen to, great food to eat, great spirits to drink and a lot of wonderful items to purchase. To give you an idea of how much fun it is, this will be my 40th consecutive year attending. Make sure to bring a good amount of cash for tips.
We go about once every other year. There really is something for everyone here at the Texas Renaissance Festival. The vendors bring there best to sell, the shows are fun, & the food is delicious. Bring your checkbook but set a budget & remember to wear walking shoes.
Always fun and eye catching! Great treats and delicious turkey legs! Jousting recreation shows and so much more. Definitely recommended, great fun for everyone!
I will never not recommend the Renn fest. The theme weekends are always a blast, even if you don't attend in costume. The shops sell some really cool and unique stuff, and the quality of that stuff is very high. Many shops offer lifetime guarantees, and quickly replace items v that do break.
My first Renn was about 5 years ago. My wife, my sister, and 3 friends went together, and we were all instantly regulars. The food is amazing, the drinks reasonably priced and readily available, and the shows are awesome; definitely check out the falconer.
Three years ago, we went on the weekend after Thanksgiving, the final weekend of the year. It was cold and drizzly, so the crowd was small; it was awesome. The whole ambiance of the park was really cool, the entertainers were able to give more individual attention to their audiences, and lines were short. What I'm saying is that bad weather is actually a Pro if you're thinking about going.
A lot of fun! Affordable experience, friendly patrons. Great people watching!! Variety of vendors, great camping accommodations. Beers were pretty expensive however.
I work as the front gate Jester that takes photos! And if I've had the distinguished honor of taking your photo, please, let me know! :-) I, was the only one there with the colored socks! Blue and green to be exact. On the way in I took photos, and on the way out, I was the deep voice guy that told you where to take the orange tickets to the booth. And since this was my first year here, I've had nothing but fun! :-) Every time I think I've seen it all, something else more fabulous, or tremendous, comes through that gate! Thank you all for the experience, conversation, joy, happiness, respect, and the whole thought of being who you are naturally, that you've all brought into my life by stopping to allow me to take your photos! :-) because some of those were the best costumes I've ever seen in my life! :-) so to all of those that I had contact with, thank you, and keep saving the world! :-)
The workers were not friendly, they seemed like they hated their lives. The bearded pickle guy was talking trash to everyone who walked by, calling one young lady a redneck. The sword guy was also unfriendly and talked trash to me personally. Don't interact with the workers if you want to have a pleasant time.
I would give high marks for the performers, except for the Tarot card reader who told my daughter about being gay and going to a strict Christian school and, I assume, his overcoming their oppression. What the hell does that have to do with ANYONE'S reading? I didn't give this guy $35 (might have been $30) to talk about himself, especially if it has nothing to do with his ability to read tarot cards. I was too angry to confront him without being arrested, so I didn't. The rest of the performers and vendors I interacted with were courteous and talented and very good at their craft. Unfortunately everything is ridiculously expensive. I get it, they gotta make a living, but damn. Last time I attended was 16 years ago. After this second time I have no desire to return.
Just an okay place as to me their is not a whole lot to do for kids and if you have been once that is all you need to go as it is the same thing year after year
My very first renaissance festival turned out to be largest in the country! It was a great experience! Activities, souvenirs, and jousting! Friendly atmosphere! With or without a costume, it's a good time, but I recommend costume!
It was raining but the shows went on. Has to be one of the cleanest places I've ever been. There had to be at least 10,000 people camping an no trash anywhere on the 250 acre campground. The same can be said for the inside, the bathrooms and the portapotties on the entire property. I wish I could go more places like this. I would attribute the cleaness to the crowd of people that attend. Can't wait till next year!
BEST TIME EVER!!!!! On sundays kids younger than 13 go in free, which was perfect for me. My kids enjoyed watching all the shows they had. Be prepared to walk, because its HUGE but beautiful and a amazing experience. Kids didnt want to leave, also the food was soooooo good. I think that it's worth the price.
I love this place and our family always has a good team when we go, there is something for everyone.
We normally share a few different foods so that we can try more stuff always getting a turkey leg. We have gone dressed up but most time we just go in conferrable clothes.
If you go plan out ahead of time what show you would like to watch every hour. You don't have to watch any of them but if you are ready to watch a show it will save you lots of time.
Also download the app it's helpful for walking around, it's a big place.
I was brought to the Texas Renaissance Festival for the first time for my 14th birthday...and I fell in love. I've been coming back ever since and the people there have become family. Easily one of the most accepting and amazing places.
This is my home away from Home.. every open weekend you will find me there, it's magical and such a great place with many vendors and so many performers it's no wonder it's #1 Renaissance Festival... Hope to see you there .. say Hi if you spot me :)
We went on a Sunday and while I had been before in past years, my husband had not. He mentioned it was better than expected. Kids get in free on Sundays and we got adult tickets from Costco so that saved a good amount on the entry price. It is expensive for food and drinks, but I did not think all the activities were super expensive. There were plenty of options for the kids for $2 each to keep them entertained. The most expensive thing I saw were elephant rides for $10 each.
Wear comfortable shoes! The place is huge and you will walk a lot. Also, great people watching
If you've been, you know why it's fun. If you haven't, you should try to go. I could write an essay about this place, but really you just need to go and see for yourself. I suggest staying until after dark to watch the fireworks show.
5 year in a row. We always have a wonderful time. It was hero,s and villains week. These two where pretty cool for the picture. FYI visit the shot bar... High quality whisky.
Wish they had more beverages for kids like Hawaiian punch or hi-c. Nothing but soda and they should have more good brand water like Voss or deja blue water instead of tap water or non name brands.
Definitely a must see tourist attraction for visitors. Also great just to kill a day or 2 and enjoy the people who dress up, the different live shows that perform everything from musicals to trebuchet competitions to firework shows and everything in between. I would definitely bring some money in with you for spending as most of the attractions cost a few dollars. If your thinking about camping at night, I would try to avoid bringing children that are still in their glass box because the night life can get a bit rated R but you could also just hang out by your camper and just rest up for the night if anything. I always love to visit every year as I just love the atmosphere there, the people who dress up, and seeing my favorite show, the Cast in Bronze
The buildings and shops were really cool and the shows were amazing. Only downside is you have to pay for everything including the program and anything worth buying from the shops is extremely expensive.
Kids, grandkids and friends joined us for our annual jaunt to Todd Mission, Texas to celebrate my birthday by enjoying the wonderful music, amazing food, unique shops and beautifully costumed crowd you just can't find anywhere else but at the Texas Renaissance Festival! Seemed to me that more folks dressed in costume this year then ever before. We always begin with the family favorites: Scottish Eggs and steak on a stick, then head over to the Globe for a show. The kids love the Fairy Garden and Neptune's Swing- and we always end up at the end of the day at The Agora for gyros and to watch the kids join the belly dancers on stage! So much to see- every year we arrive earlier and stay later and still want to go back for more. We shall return! Huzzah!!!!
We have been going to the Texas Renaissance Festival "TRF" for 5 years and we can only say good things about it. It is a very friendly place for anyone from single people to family groups. There is always a great vibe and friendliness in the park and campground, lots of security and staff willing to help out with anything. In these five years that we have been going we have never encountered any issues with the crowds. This is the reason why we keep going every year and recommend to friends and family. Huzzah!
Fantastic. Never gets old! Friendly people, good food, and better drinks. Entertainment is not to be underestimated. Cool that you can walk from show to show and be honestly occupied the entire day. Of course the artist get paid by the crowd that add money in te hat/basket/bucket they pass around during the shows so do remember to bring cash. Clean and efficient bathrooms. Lots of seating when you want to concentrate on eating your snacks. A bunch of artists supplying just about anything you could hope for. You are allowed to return to your car, just make sure to get a hand stamp! Makes buying anything heavy or bulky totally worth it. If you have a topic of interest, chances are you'll find a knowledgeable person if you just ask. Awesome experience. I haven't done an over night or "after dark" program as they now offer but I'm sure it's wild and worthwhile. Make sure and read the website. The advertising team is doing well updating for construction impacting travel routes. Huzah!
