My advice goes along with the website get there early at 830am and stay late till the fireworks at 8pm or just before. Expect to spend quite a bit of money but the whole event is so much fun.

First time I d ever been to the Renaissance Festival. It was a bunch of fun!

The vendors are hilarious and will yell things at you, take it all in good fun.

The food is okay, a little expensive but worth it. There s also such a wide selection of types of food, from different areas of the world.

Check out the jousting. It s hilarious.

Each time I go, it's always a different experience! There are plenty of places to eat, shop, and enjoy!! Definitely bring plenty of cash! You're going to want to spend money on things you've never spent money on haha great time to spend with family and lots of fun shows!

Of course we enjoyed the experience, but sound systems were horribly insufficient the Arena, Odeon stage, and Falconer's Stage (every stage we say a show at). We particularly enjoyed listening to the Texas Brass Ensemble and Celtic Mahem.

Always a great time. They ask that you wear a mask while in all the shops. And at most shows they have every other row blocked for social distancing. A few shops were not open , but in all it was a great time . Photos were from last year. Sorry

It's ok.. I didn't feel it was very kid friendly as far as food choices. There were thousands of bees out there and children were getting stung. EMT had told me when we went to see them that they had over 23 cases of kids getting stung and that was at 1 pm..

I've gone to ren fest every year since I was 11 (I'm now 18) and it gets better and better each year. If you live in Texas, you should definitely experience this place at least once in your life. I also camped for the first time this past weekend and it was a blast. It's only $25 per car so I'd say it's totally worth it!

Well organized for parking with plenty to see, do and unique shops. Be prepared though to spend $$$$$ as food/beverage stands are pricey. Be sure to pick a nice day to go since everything is outdoors.

Husband and I have gone two years in a row; 2019 and 2020. Our plan is to make it a yearly tradition. 2019 was very overcrowded, but so much fun. We went for Viking weekend in 2019 and Barbarian weekend for 2020. This year due to COVID, there were less people which was actually kinda nice. We had a great time both years and of course always enjoy the mead. The costumes for sale at the festival are expensive, but very detailed and beautiful. Both times I have gotten wooden weapons for my son which he loved and this year I bought some fairy wings for my daughter which were very well made and sturdy enough for a toddler.

I have always greatly loved going to the Renaissance Festival and, while the strictness of the police has gotten worse yearly, the quality of the shows, fireworks, and food have increased dramatically

Loooooovveeeeedddd iiiiiitttttttt, my friend got crazy drunk off the mead and wouldnt stop falling. Amazing place where you can walk around in your homemade gear and get tips and tricks on how to improve.

one of my favorite places to go. we take a trip as a family and doi it once a year, costumes and all (I fully recommend dressing up). the food is great and the shows are better (awesome shout out to the comedy group who did improv). please be prepared to walk as the grounds are large. strollers are more then welcome, as are wagons for kids.

the reason for four stars is that it is pricey. between tickets, food, and goodies to buy you can easily spend 100 per person.

Texas Renaissance Festival. Once a wonderful place to spend a day or two, have loads of fun whether dressed for the period, in your favorite fantasy getup, or just walk and people watch, and was reasonable in price. Now many years later, merely an expensive tourist trap. Visit the shops - but get their business cards and visit their real shops or websites. There's not much real fun anymore, and they've made the park so large... Wear some comfortable shoes! Still fun to people watch, and spend lots of money. Good food, plenty to drink. But be ready to spend a lot, especially if you're visiting as a family. Ren Faire may or may not be fun for you, your mileage may vary.

After dark Ren Faire camping has now turned into an X-RATED tecno music rave that is ear piercingly loud with the most obscene language you can imagine. WARNING: NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!! ESP IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!

Very sad for us, especially since our family has been coming here since the early 1980's. Miss the bonfire with drummers so very much. Ren faire is RUINED!

Ive been going to RenFest for over 10 years. It never gets old. They add new things almost every year. The first couple of weekends are the more kid friendly ones. I would keep your kids at home for the Barbarian weekend just saying! Plenty of shows, musicians and dancers everywhere. There is something going on at every minute of the day. This is the biggest renaissance festival in the nation and has been around for a long time! Don't miss out. You can get tickets cheap at participating locations rather than paying full price at the gate. Kids are cheap. Tickets truly in my opinion, are a steal. For what you're seeing and getting to do with that ticket, its worth is tripled. For those who say its boring, either they didn't really want to go in the first place and got dragged along, or didn't know really know HOW to experience this! The costumes are fantastic. People work all year on their costumes. Everyone is sweet and polite and the employees "actors" never break character! I would recommend this to anyone of any age or size. Prepare to walk, A LOT. Have fun!

Friendly staff everywhere. Very polite merchants. Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. Amazing entertainers. Great for people-watching. Tons of free parking. Phenomenal security. Bring cash for tipping for each show and the food merchants. Also, avoid the Atm's and bring extra cash.

I absolutely loved it! Have been going to Scarborough fair for years and decided this year to make the trip down to the texas renaissance festival. Was impressed with the size ( defiantly need to days to even get close to seeing it all). A lot of the shows were longer than other places ive been ( closer to a hour a show ). Will be returning for another weekend this year!

It's a great way, as an adult to spend the day in costume.
However, with that said this year they have made every Sunday a kid's free day.
Had I known that I wouldn't have willingly gone on Sunday, October 30th.
It took 2 hrs to get thru the tiny town of Magnolia and after the lovely traffic delay it wasn't exactly my dream to be in midevil Disneyland.

Fun
