I've taken classes at Pralaya with Robert, Andrew, Sam, and Zach. All are fantastic teachers and I appreciate the detailed instruction. If you're used to flow classes with traditional asanas, get ready for a new view of processes that will expand your practice experience.

If you are looking to grow your practice, this is the place. Robert and the other instructors are extremely intuitive and offer assistance with some of the more tricky poses. Robert talks you through everything your body is doing the whole time. I like it. It's not your standard mainstream flow class. This is very personalized. I will be making an effort to go back!

Quality yoga and professors! i have been practicing yoga for up to 10 years. Whenever i travel i always love to find a good yoga studio. This is THE YOGA studio to go if you wanna get good FOUNDATION for your practice, and for your day to day body functioning since walking, sitting and yoga practice. Robert Boustany is an amazing and over 43 years experience yoga teacher. The other teachers are also great. I really recommend this studio, and if its your first time, you get 3 classes per 30 usd for a trial period. The studio is clean, spotless and the staff really friendly. Plus location is near the hip Montrose area, and Westheimer Rd, with great restaurants and coffee places.

The sense of community and the welcome with a bright smile brought me to ease the first time I came. The level of the class work with all of the teachers here keeps me coming back. The best part of my day is always coming to this studio for class! Different teachers provide expert guidance on different styles so there is something for everyone. The hours vary as well so there is always a time for practice. Definitely worth it to check out!

I've been doing yoga for years and have gone to many yoga studios. Pralaya is hands down my new favorite studio. It's serene, peaceful and the energy is amazing in there. I took Robert's class and he fixed all my lower back problems. He's takes time to show you the correct way and also answers questions during class, which I love. I absolutely recommend Pralaya to beginners to advance students!

Love this studio. People are so different here when they practice here. It's not about what you wear and what you can do to post on IG or to brag with your friends. They go deep into yoga philosophy, I love that. The teachers here are a different breed.

Robert Boustany is truly a Master Yogi! He wakes your inner being up through practices that not only strengthen you physically, but mentally and spiritually! There are no words for how incredible his classes are! There's another Master yogi there name Scott Clark! He is a light of fire! They are the only two healing practitioners that I connect with. I enjoy learning and evolving out of his class as well! I recommend Pralaya to all of my friends including the ones from out of state who are looking for a spiritual yet physical challenge. The Prana is intense in his class and it doesn't feel like you've spent 90 minutes in the room! I LOVE PRALAYA! Thank you for existing!

I am in LOVE with this studio. Robert Boustany is a great Yoga teacher with over 50 years of experience as a Yogi + a teacher. I'm taking yoga teacher training here and if you're really serious about Yoga this is the place to be. If you've been seeking a teacher who has knowledge, wisdom, and kindness- he's here. I've learned so much, and I'm continuing to grow. I also recommend this place to beginners, as Robert teaches you how to do Yoga safely so that you don't hurt yourself. There are also plenty of other classes and other yoga teachers here- and you should check them out too!

Edit:
Attended a back bend work shop 1pm -4pm... it was transformative and really helped me understand how to work with the back end on a emotional and physical level. Classes are continually astounding me.

PRALAYA IS EXCEPTIONAL: authentic, academic, and accessible for anyone.

About me: I began my yoga practice in San Francisco which undoubtedly has some of the best instructors so my standards were unknowingly high when I moved home to Houston. I was a member at nearly every studio inside the loop for a year period before finding Pralaya in mid-2014. I took one of Robert's evening classes for experienced students and signed up for teacher training the same evening. After spending more than 300 hours at the studio between teacher trainings, classes, and workshops, I know and love this place.

PRALAYA YOGA SYSTEM
Robert has a Masters in Physics from Rice. He's been teaching for 45+ years (including at The Houstonian and across Western Europe) and has trained with BKS Iyengar, Ana Forrest, Dr. Vasant Lad, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Swami Muktananda, Swami Ranganathananda, Vethathiri Yogiraj Maharishi, and Swami Satchitananda.

Robert created Pralaya (his unique yoga system) from an unparalleled understanding of physiology and energetics. Pralaya's application extends far beyond what most would consider for traditional yoga. I've witnessed Robert meaningfully improve or eliminate chronic pain in countless people in under an hour. The same is true of other senior instructors at Pralaya who have studied under him.

TEACHERS
Teachers truly develop their own practice. Everyone I've taken from at Pralaya has shown me a pose that I have not seen anywhere else from anyone else in my 6 years of practice.

Robert: He's 68 and he is stronger than anyone I've ever witnessed, just from doing yoga. My favorite thing about class is his jokes, they have a way of revealing the humor in perceived stress.
Scott: It sounds rather cliche but Scott truly floats. He brings an indescribable levity when he walks in the room. He is amazing for beginners (my 69 yr old dad with arthritic knees adores him) and experts alike. Great, dry humor.
Adam: He is a physicist by training as well so he brings a unique interpretation of Robert's teaching. He is attentive and kind, always ensuring that your experience in his class is optimized.
Amanda: I followed Amanda from two other studios. There, she taught challenging and fun flow classes. She is quite familiar with yoga literature so she's a fantastic resource if you're looking to learn more.
Andrew: He runs the yoga program at The Houstonian. His classes are challenging and unique. From push-ups in wheel to arm-bound squat walking, you'll work and laugh.
Lindsey: She is a PA in oncology at MD Anderson so her understanding of anatomy and illness is admirable. Her free outdoor flow classes at Discovery Green are such fun. I can't recall seeing her without a smile.
Larry: I followed Larry from two other studios before he began at Pralaya earlier this year. His flow classes are always an interesting and fun challenge; they made me noticeably stronger in a matter of months. He is down-to-earth, relaxed, and upbeat.
Zach: I took yoga from Zach a few weeks ago and then had a private pilates reformer session with him at another studio. His cues were different than anything I'd heard before and gave me immediate insight that I could use to deepen my practice.

STUDIO
Pralaya is a one-room studio with natural light beaming in from windows on two sides. It is a 2 block walk from Montrose hotspots (i.e. Common Bond, Agora, Cafe Brasil) which makes it an essential Saturday morning stop - if not for the yoga or the extended meditation for the *free unlimited* tea.

I go to Andrew's classes on Sundays at 11am and they are the best classes in town in my opinion. The front desk employees are always nice, welcoming, and smooth in checking u in for the class
