I spent a day with my children and my grandchildren. And my loving wife and it was awesome! The joy of watching the wonder in the eyes of my grandchildren. I went to the very first festival with my father about 43 years ago, Ibelieve.

Had a great time at Middlelands. Extremely disappointed that TRF decided not to host again next year. You are breaking the hearts of tens of thousands of people to please a few hundred locals when there are many ways to resolve this in order to make everyone happy.

There are a lot of things to do, for teens and adults. There are a few things for kids. It's a huge place with tons of food and drinks, people, music (renaissance style), plays and games such as archery, axe throwing and large swings. Valet parking is available as well as reserved parking close to the park, but you have to pay extra. Currently, because of covid-19, tickets are only available online and in limited quantities. There is a fireworks show at the end of the day (7:30 PM), but try to arrive at the stadium area long before to reserve a seat. The final show is very entertaining.

For the life of me I cannot comprehend the overwhelming number of approbations verses admonishments I ve read regarding this event. The Renaissance was a time of art, intellect, and education. The inappropriately christened Texas More

The Texas renaissance festival is a huge gathering with so much to see and do. You can eat all kinds of delicious food see animals including elephants, camels, and horses. Tons of old time shops with high quality wears to help with a costume to show off and have fun. You can camp out for the weekend or just go for a single day and it's fun either way. There's alcohol for you to try and shows to enjoy with a variety of acts and the people are very friendly and helpful with a few exceptions of insult comics that lounge about. If you've never been it's good exercise and an experience you won't soon forget.

First time I attended and it won't be the last! Traffic is the only drawback of this experience but it's extremely worth the time so long as there aren't any accidents. Dress for the occasion! Carry cash! $100 goes a long way for a date. Update '17: Had the best time! Advice to have fun; dress up, bring your water, buy a book, plan to attend shows, have cash for tips.

Love the renaissance festival. I go every year. It's a family thing. The shows. Shops. And food. But I guess as I get older 2 things bother me. 1 people smoking. Should be a designated area. I cant stand people smoking around me. Makes me sick. And 2. I think some of the food and drink prices are outrageous. 2 beers $16. Really!? That's ridiculous. No more drinks for me. And some food prices are kinda high too. Not to be cheap but it is a little high. But overall we had a good time. Still gonna go back next year.

My friend and I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival on the 9th of November. I have been to other Renaissance events and this is by far the nicest I've ever been to.

The ladies and gentlemen at the Moresca booth were as amazing as they were 20+ years ago when I bought my first outfit. It will last decades when properly cared for. They worked with me on finding myself and my friend the perfect corsets, chesims, and skirts. It took a few hours to get exactly what we wanted. Everyone left happy and smiling.

These Ladies and gentlemen are inclusive of all sizes and shapes. I felt like all my questions were answered and I was put at ease. I wasn't just a sale I was encouraged to be in love with what I tried on.

Amazing! That's all I can really say. If you are a person with any interest in history / roleplaying or just want to have a fun time, go ahead and take the drive over! The turkey legs are to die for.

Amazing grounds, wonderful people, delicious food. It's like stepping into a time machine, and instantly being transported into the Renaissance Era. I camp EVERY weekend of the festival and will continue to do so for many many more years. For the full experience make sure to camp. Bring your drums, and go to the Bonfire after dark. Its a great time for everyone.

You have to visit this place at least once in your life. The experience is like no other. Lots of different foods and beverages. A variety of shops to get you started on your own costumes. Come out, dress up and have fun

Had a fantastic time. There's so much to see and do that 1 day isn't really enough. Good food fun for all ages, and we were surprised at howany people were dressed up. It's a lot bigger the when I went years ago.

Love stepping back in time at the Renaissance fest...

Love stepping back in time at the Renaissance fest. There's really something for every taste, & every age here. You can take the family & take in all the children activities, my grandson enjoys the rides, which are all manual as they were then, they're fun, & games, long bow target practice, etc. They have Llama & elephant rides. You can also make it an adult outting & enjoy the pirate bar, Ded Bob comedy, etc. If ur up for weekend party I suggest you bring a tent & camp out on the Ren Fest grounds, their weekend parties are notorious for get 1 big community party.
There are scheduled of events online, my personal favs are the jousting, (though they overstage it), Belly dance, pretty talented girls, the sky ribbon dancer, def Bob shows pretty funny, & they end the fest with fireworks,(probably coming from the weekend campers, lol). Jk, it cost a bit, $40 per ticket, kids r free, But if u find a royal gown, fairy outfit, witch hat, pirate garb, put it on, you'll fit right in & have a great time. Suggest u get there early, but it's not necessary, they have parking directors & golf carts that take u from your car to the entrance. Go step back in time & get away for a day

I've been going to the Texas Renfest for about 30 years. It's always a blast! There are so many things to see and do. You could spend hours walking from booth to booth (and a fortune!) And still not visit them all. My only complaint would be the high prices but these people work hard to provide quality food and merchandise. Over all, it's worth the trip!

Nice, but would be nicer if there were more walkways that were not just plain dirt. A lot of people get dressed up and have nice costumes, etc. dragging all over the dirt all day. We all had to wash our shoes when we got home. Some attendees feel the need to attend half-dressed (or less) when there are a lot of families and small children. Perhaps a family friendly (enforced) dress code, or certain "adult" only days could fix this?

Its a fun experience for those that have never been. If you have the opportunity to camp out, I recommend doing so. The drive from San Antonio to the festival took about 2 and a half hrs. So plan on leaving no later than 830am to get there with enough time to enjoy the shops, shows, rides, games and more!
Staying until 4 or 5 pm was Plenty of time for us to see all that we wanted to see and arrive back home aroind 830pm, of course one can stay much later as the night brings on a whole different side to the fair!
Enjoy!

Great festival, very well organized. I was horrified by the use of llamas, horses, ponys and elefants for entertainment. There are many more ways we can entertain kids instead of using these poor creatures as rides.

I recently visited the Renaissance festival for the first time. It was fun and people seemed to be having a good time. It was when I saw the area where they had elephants, llamas, and ponies that I was very bothered. The ponies were used as children rides. They had no space from each other and were riding in circles as if they were a carousel. One pony s head was in the rear of a bigger pony. All day under the heat, it was 90 degrees last week. Each horse looked miserable. And the poor elephants...I think these attractions do not make the festival any better or different! Please stop it, they were in such bad condition.

Home away from home. I have been coming here at least once per season since I was 12 years old. My only complaint is how ridiculously expensive everything is (strip club beer prices) and how crowded it is... but neither of those issues has ever stopped me from coming. They expand and/or improve every year, what more can you ask?
