There are some great exhibitions along with a mix of spectacular, fun and interactive pieces. Borderless is a great experience for kids and adults alike. Just prepare yourself to stand in a couple of long lines, for up to 60 minutes in some cases, for some of the more popular rooms.

Any Tokyo visitor should not miss this. Amazing high-tech art with a full immersive experience that will not be forgotten. If you travel with kids, this will be their ever favorite visite. Worth paying the extra bit to enjoy the tea drink experience.

It s a fantastic immersive experience to wandering around in an illuminated world of all major works by teamLab. I wonder how they manage to handle such huge amount of projectors and servers not to mention the humongous living contents (digital creatures) that interact with audiences. Amazing!

Excellent interactive digital exhibition. Lower floor is mainly passive consumption/enjoyment whilst upper floor is a huge play area with tons of activities. Hence, this is very suitable for kids of all ages. We stayed for a couple of hours and were probably able to explore 30 percent of the exhibition only.

This contains a lot of stunning digital art. Sadly the experience has been somewhat ruined by the number of tickets sold and the lack of customer management. Once inside, it is very crowded. There are very long queues for some exhibits. The crowds generate a lot of noise. Some of the exhibits are more or less obscured by people sitting/standing on them and taking photos. It's a gallery managed like a theme park. Not worth the price. We left without seeing everything.

Ignore the statement that this museum closed, it s still open!

This museum is amazing, the art is more beautiful then I could have imagined! Most of the artwork is interactive. There are some exhibits you are meant to climb on, some you stand and interact with, and some you re not meant to touch.

They first room you interact with is the flower room . The walls are filled with digital flowers of many vibrant colors all moving around to create beautiful patterns. Standing still to take a picture creates a mosaic of colors on your face, creating a wonderful picture opportunity!

The other rooms are hidden around the exhibit. The lantern room was one of my favorites! The hanging lights in a mirrored room gave the illusion of infinite lights, it was beautiful!

Every room I stumbled into was amazing! The hanging meat was a great experience too! Not really photogenic, but not for observation.

This review could never do this museum the justice it deserves. If you go to Tokyo, this HAS to be on your bucket list!

Good exhibit. This was the first time I've been to a Digital Art museum and it met my expectations. This exhibit is located in Odaiba, Tokyo
--near the Teleport train station and a very busy tourist area. Easy access to the train system if you do not like driving. Also, a parking lot closer to the Ferris wheel/mall. We went when the exhibit first opened in late Jun. on a Friday night. There was not a big crowd so we were able to do/go to majority of all areas without hassle. The only line was for the Crows Nest (amazing) and Forest of Lamps. The tickets should be cheaper for the exhibit (I payed 2,800 yen) but I understand the "WHOA" factor.

Wish I could load more videos of our trip but it's not feasible.

One of the best interactive and immersive exhibits I've been to. It's a maze of magical rooms and sensory experiences. Tip - if you touch the rabbit or frog on the forest projection they turn towards you!

The concept is good, but ends there. Half the visitors appear to be foreigners, but the staff do not speak other languages. For the price charged, one would have expected a lot more. The lines are long like a cattle herd, the whole goal is to keep the line organized and usher you inside. There is no provision for strollers or disabled people. There is no explanation, not even instructions to download the app by QR code that you see posted on the wall. There is no list of the exhibits, and it says there are no routes to follow upon entering. It's so dark inside that you cannot find your way around. It's like being in a maze and you have no idea where the next exhibit is or if you saw the ones you wished to see. On top of that most of the exhibit lights create disorientation and anxiety, only a few are soothing or interesting. I did not see anyone leaving with a look of satisfaction or a smile.

A new art form through light, image projection and sound. Very cool. There are rooms with different theme and many of the exhibits are interactive. Book your ticket online as it can get crowded. Make sure you come to the right location as there are several TeamLab exhibition across town

Trippy sprawling art installation with interactive elements. Good for a couple of hours wandering about, don't miss the room full of stage lights! No walk ins on the day I went so may be a good idea to book tickets in advance.

The most unique museum I've ever seen. On top of that, they have English translations, which is surprisingly uncommon in Japanese museums.
Taking a star off because there is a long line to get in, and then equally long lines (even 1 hour in one instance) to view the more popular exhibits.

First off, the exhibits are awesome. Many of them are immersive and beautiful experiences, while others can be a little goofy but are still fun. The issue with this place is the waiting. It'll take you anywhere from 30-90 minutes to get in, depending on when you arrive, and then even once you're in, some of the exhibits have lines from 40 minutes to an hour. This place could be a 5 star attraction if they had timed entries or limited the number of people, but you're likely goin to spend more time in line than actually enjoying the technology and artwork. Mainly just avoid the floating nest installation if there's a line. It's a 40 minute line for about a minute of video.

Brilliant! I would recommend it to everyone. Tips: purchase your tickets online in advance and go there early especially during the weekdays/holidays as there may be a queue for ticket holders.

I'm giving it a 4 star review since I personally think that they could have at least created a certain route so that you're guaranteed to be able to visit each and every room. It felt like a labyrinth to me and with some of the art work constantly moving/changing, it took a while before I realized I have gone to almost all the rooms.

Spent three and a half hours in there. Loved it. Got crowded toward the end, but that's to be expected in one of the most popular museums in Tokyo. I would suggest getting there early so you don't have to stand in a long line. No line or crowd could make me think less of this place though. I absolutely loved it! The art was so amazing!

Epson's experimental and experiential exhibition (that's 3 ex's!) should be seen to be believed. Utilising their projection expertise to take immersiveness to the next level, you will definitely come out of this awe inspired but semi-dazed. The only negatives would be their policy of not marking out clear directional signs as well as the disappointingly few interactive areas. I still do believe people of various ages have something to experience at teamLab Borderless.

Very crowded and had long lines up to 50 min within the museum for certain rooms. The lights were also notably lower resolution and pixelated up close.

That being said, very creative experience. Going at least once is recommended.

This was one of the highlights to my Japan trip. I honestly would travel again just to go to any other teamLab exhibits. All of the exhibits are technology based and interactive, this felt like the future I thought we'd have by 2020. 100% awesome, you should absolutely go.

Too many selfies, too many cellphones. Could they think about a cell phone free time people could go and not stumble over people taking photos.
This is a place to linger, but so many people rushing thru with phones it's a real shame.

I would have given this art exhibition a full five stars but it's semi disorientating both good and bad. The lack of borders/guided museum path is interesting but also makes navigating a slight challenge. So make sure you have time to explore.

The infinity room esque exhibit is gorgeous along with the crystal vine room.

The most interesting for me was the interactive phone app that changes wall displays and the athletic forest toward the back. They even have exhibits for children of all ages and a comparable real life Katamari Damacy experience.

I hope to visit again as it was a cool experience.

Need to get tickets in advance. Make sure to go to all the rooms. Some rooms are difficult to find. Almost missed the crystal room. Incredible use of lights and darkness. It's a bit out of the way in Odaiba. But there are other things to do and see there.

Absolutely amazing! Great experience. Big queue to get in but it moves very quickly so don t be put off by it. Only downside is go to the floating lanterns first on the decline floor as this queue can very long and add an extra 45min of queuing.

Beautiful set of projectors and illuminations fill in the space with visual effects and motion. It is very crowded during peak hours and seasons. I truly recommend waking up early. Don't go in the evening otherwise you won't be able to see everything, you will have to stand in the waiting line and the museum will close before you check them all. So early in the morning is the best.

It s a fine experience. It s really pretty. Exhibits change slightly every hour. The inside is a bit confusing, and it is very easy to get lost or miss exhibits. Buy tickets online in advance, they rarely have any at the door. More than anything though it is feels especially designed for kids. Adults can look at exhibits, but the actual experiences like climbing and sliding around are kids only.

I'm not an art or media nut but this was a really cool experience for me! I hadn't even heard of this until my friend brought it up as something he insisted we had to visit during our trip to Tokyo. Once you enter the space you just then realize how massive it is. It took me about 2 hours overall to thoroughly enjoy each portion. The different uses of technology and mediums for the exhibits were really interesting and brought upon a variety of feelings. There was a lot of creative pieces and a lot of places that made for good photographs. I highly recommend this experience if you're looking for something different and abstract!

Google time is incorrect. Arrived before 10 and there were people already inside. Really cool and something new to experience. Go early to avoid the crowd and long queues into each viewing rooms. Place is dark and could get a bit confusing however that is all about the expereince - being 'borderless'.
Made it easier to pre-purchase reserved tickets online for a specific day - they will send through the ticket via email 24 hours before your reserved date.

The most amazing modern art and technology place i have ever been in. There are no words to describe this, you just need to experience it. Your senses will be stimulate for weeks after visiting.
One thing that i would like to see improve is that i wish there was a type of map or explanation on how many areas and rooms there where before entering.

Unique digital art. Amazing immersive experience. Get your tickets online and go early, at least 30-60mins before it opens. We were let in about 30mins before opening time and got to enjoy many of the exhibits without having to queue or cram around others for photos.

Fantastic art exhibition, I got there at 10am and spent the whole day there. There are some queues once inside however I really enjoyed this experience regardless of having to wait for some artworks.

Definitely worth going to. Make sure to wear comfortable (flat) shoes or you will have to rent a pair for safety purposes. Rentals are free though! I'd recommend buying your ticket online in advance since it isn't uncommon for days to be sold out. It's super easy to get lost in this place. It took us about 2.5 hours to get through the whole thing while taking our time. The only disappointment was the lantern room. The line is generally pretty long but they shuffle you through super quick to decrease the wait time. Other than that, it's a really cool place to check out.

A waste of time. If you want to spend hours queuing, unable to move because of the selfie takers, this museum is for you.
One hour wait to get inside, one hour wait for each popular room...
Im unsure why borderless sells the tickets for the day, they should sell in blocks of 2 hours to reduce the overwhelming overcrowding.

If you have kids this is great, there s loads of interactive things for them.

Bring snacks and water to wait in line.

Must visit for anyone in Tokyo!! Still had to line up despite buying tickets online, which demonstrates how popular it really is.
Extremely fun and unique digital art installations that are interactive and pretty too. The ticket recommended going after 3pm to avoid the lines, so we went at 4pm, but we felt as thought we didn t have enough time(as it closed at 7pm) to see everything, missing an entire level which is a shame.

High expectations and an expensive ticket for a museum that offers a show that is much better on the pictures than in reality. To see the main attraction -the forest of lamps- there is a long cue and only a few counted minutes to enjoy it (among quite many people). Nice, but not as wonderful as expected.
It's not a 3 star attraction, but not even a 4. I'd use a 3,5 if i could.

This exhibit is far exceeded my expectations. The displays are amazing. Worth every cent. I was concerned we would only spend an hour or so, however there are so many amazing rooms. Even an interactive tea room. Your cup of tea is part of the exhibit while you drink it... Truly one of the highlights of our trip....

A must for Tokyo tour. Avoid peak time, otherwise you have to wait quite a bit and there are many many visitors. Also plan at least 4 hours to fully enjoy the beauty of this place and some installations only allow certain amounts of visitors inside.

The creativity and good interactive digital arts are hard to find and impressively made at that. The museum has a good size, not too much and not too few that you finish in an hour. The arts extends the variety also for children to enjoy. The only minus to me was that it was really too crowded and too long queue even inside to visit some rooms. Location was good so I could visit the Odaiba area around as well.

Way too many people. Avoid peak days/hours if you can. I preferred the "Planets" one but "Borderless" has a large playground that might be perfect for kids of all ages. Actually, plenty of adults having fun there too!

Absolutely amazing, however it does get very very busy. Probably best to come later during the day, especially if you have a reservation, otherwise you'll never get a clear and empty picture.

A must visit place if you're ever in Tokyo. Exhibits were very innovative and to experience it first time will put you in awe and the art arrangements changes over time and everytime you re enter the room, it is slightly different. Be prepared to spend at least 3-5 hours here to see and experience almost everything and lines for some exhibits can be long. Picture and video taking is allowed and you can get some Instagram worthy pictures here but do look up from your phone to fully experience the art pieces through your own eyes instead of through the lens of your phone camera.

A MUST VISIT PLACE WHEN YOU ARE IN TOKYO! Super nice lighting exhibition. The price is good, also please book prior to the visit. You can spend 3-5 hrs in there. Please eat something before entering the place as well.

Must see - make sure you arrive BEFORE the open - the line up gets insane if you come after it opens (we came 15 min before and there were already at least 50 people in line). Also, buy tickets online in advance!

Brilliant experience, totally unique, very Japan!

Brilliant experience, totally unique, very Japan!

After 5 minutes the kids were "bored" apparently, after 3 hours they were happy to queue for 40 minutes for the Lantern Room (which is possibly the best room but still possibly not worth the queue as you only get 3 minutes in there!)

So many things to explore, we were there for about 4 hours which is unheard of for us. No maps or route, just wander, but you get an idea of where things are quite quickly.

Floating Nest was brilliant (30 minute queue, only other room with a queue), butterfly room smells incredible, kids loved the slide in the Athletic Forest and the interactive room through an arch there is incredible.

The tea room is a must - chill for a bit in definitely the most relaxing but interesting tea room I've been in, order different teas for different light shows and dont forget the ice cream....

Very busy at times, we went at 1130am and had a shirt queue on a Sunday, but no queue to get in as we left. Get tickets in advance.

Once you're in you're in, nowhere to buy food inside or out, but part of the Venus area which has loads of places to eat.

Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing and quite unique modern art exhibition, normally I'm not that keen on modern art, however this place was something else. It also has the selling factor that it changes constantly due to it being based on computer algorithms, so no two visits will be entirely the same. Well worth a visit, especially as there's heaps of other things neighbouring it.

Caveat emptor. Beware that for the high price you will receive no consideration or customer service. We purchased tickets online four days ago as they are only available 2-3 weeks in advance. Now, two weeks before our ticket date Aug 30, we won't be able to go and they will not give a refund.
