Long queue on entrance so should buy a ticket online beforehand. The place is light and colorful, more suitable for kids.

Amazing firts time visit here. Just don't go here on weekeds because lines unbearable for young kids
This place was almost overwhelming with how much there is to do and set! There can be a bit of a line depending on when you go, but it's amazing!
Amazing experience. Speechless. The exhibition Is wonderful, and I fully recommend It.
Too crowded, you will never be able to get the kind of pictures they have promoted on the website. Some room the lines are so long and you will get to stay only 3 minutes then asked to get out.
They should have limit the number of visitors per day not to let everyone get in.
There are kids and babies everywhere and some parents let them crawl on the dark floor that could cause accident.
Nice art exhibits. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to see all the exhibits. Came on a weekday but the place was still really crowded. Be prepared to wait for certain exhibits.
My husband wanted to go to this exhibition. It was so good. I saw it at Ward Village in 2017 but this one was way bigger.
The rooms and displays are amazing but good luck trying to move around with the crowds inside. It was ridiculously packed. No chance of getting good photos without having another 50 or 60 people in the shot. There were 100m lines inside too just to get into other rooms. That was midweek. I can't imagine weekends. My tip is to wait until the hype is over and visit then.
Very special and beautiful place. We can spend all day here.
Must do ! Not really a museum though, it is a one if a kind satisfying experience.
I can't remember having a better museum experience than this! The exhibition is so involving and creative and we spent 3-4 hours here. This is a must-do.
Sometimes I feel like they could have done a lot more with today's technology, but it's still a lot of fun and you won't regret to have gone. The exhibition is huge, you'll need about 3 hours to see everything.
Loved the art installations and everytime we go back to the rooms, the art pieces changes. Very crowded over the weekend, try to go early in the morning as to avoid the crowd. Line up for the rooms first instead of spending so much time at the main ones.
Mesmerizig visual effects and a huge place to explore. Wandering inside randomly and losing one s sense of direction is part of the fun, while admiring the optical and digital exhibitions. Try everything!
Access is not bad with local transportation, although finding the entrance could not be the easiest thing as there are not so many signs around.
I'm not a fan of art of galleries but the digital art was amazing to see. From a forest of lilly pads to the beautiful digital waterfall. There was so much to see and experience. Some even made it seem like you were floating in space!
Fantastic free-range digital art museum with super interactive installations. It's fun to explore the large multistory space and try to find all the somewhat hidden areas.
Only downside is that it can get very crowded, so you may need to wait in queues once inside of the space to get into certain exhibition rooms.
There are bathrooms inside of the exhibit area. We spent three hours there. About 45 minutes of that time was spent waiting in lines for the more-popular exhibits that they meter to keep them less crowded.
Overall it's a super unique experience well worth the money. If you come to Tokyo you need to check out this or the Planets variant.
Amazing and well worth a visit. Buy a ticket online and visit earlier in the day to make the most of it.
Pretty cool place, good entertainment for a couple of hours. I recommend that you arrive early before opening and start queueing because some of the art inside will build hour-long queues around mid day, and in my opinion, wasn't worth queuing an hour to experience.
Such an amazing experience! So many things to see and do, you could easily get lost trying to explore everything. The idea was so innovative and the displays were all so visually stunning. Definitely a memorable visit from our trip to Japan
I've never been more moved at a museum. It's beautiful.
Really fun art exhibit. Try to go early to avoid some of the crowd and don't forget to explore for the hidden rooms!
Make sure you buy the ticket online before going. Although we waited 30 minutes to get in, it's not overcrowded inside. It's pitch black inside with projectors on every wall and floor. It would be difficult to take pictures with a cellphone, so bring your DSLR. Set your DSLR to manual, 800+ ISO, F2, 1/30 would work for most. The musuem is like a maze, there are two separate stairs going to 2nd floor. Go up if you happen to see the stairs or you will be walking around later and won't be able to find a way up. You can easily spend 3 hours in there as each exhibit has multiple variations.
Amazing experience. Great for getting instagram able photos. Might make people interested in art again.
Perfect light and sound projection. It was really awesome.
You can come with your friends, girl/boy friend, family, whoever you like!
you can have fun at here.
I'm for sure.
It wasn't that cool apart from the athletic area where you can actually play something. Mostly projections, also a lot of people :(
WOOOWW the most impressive and amazing concept I have ever seen!!! A NEED TO!!!
It doesn't feel like you or others are there to interact with the arts. Be prepared for many people and photographing spots. The place is beautiful though so I understand it
Immersive experience in art. Spent 3 enjoyable hours there. Not wheelchair friendly especially at the undulating terrain on level 2.
Unbelievable museum. Absolutely transports you to another planet. Expect to spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours and you could easily stay there all day. Truly an incredible unique experience and a must see if you are in Tokyo. Buy tickets online in advance as it sells out often.
Amazing, but get there early to avoid the crowds. It's a lot more magical when you're not focusing on not punting wild toddlers.
Always skeptical of visiting these famed instagram places, since United States is riddled with these new x museum, that are just these big installations to take your perfect instagram photo.
Although there was the fair share of people taking photos for their instagram, the museum exhibits did a fantastic job at immersing users in the moment. Everything was so well done and dazzlingly beautiful.
From a programming and design standpoint I m blown away by all the interactive projection displays. Can t imagine the creativity and labor this took/takes.
Loved the visual and audio experience in here. Few good place worthy of Instagram. But try not to go during peak holiday season as some venue might need to queue quite long.
What a beautiful place. The exhibits are well done. The music and the visuals are truly incredible.
You will spend your time in queuing if you want to see the main attractions. In addition the price is so high for the experience.
The result is actually better on the phone while taking pictures than standing in front of it with your human eyes.
It's okay. It really depends on the person how fast you go through this place. In my experience it was quick to explore. Also considering the fact that there are no restaurants, but a small tea corner, there is rarely any further motivation to stay after you see the three main exhibition areas.
teamLab is inevitably crowded, so pre-booking and being prepared to queue are musts. It s an interactive experience with a number of rooms housing digital exhibits where you can touch or change the projected images in different ways. It s diverting...also swarmed with instagrammers and difficult to navigate through at times. It s fun. It is not great art, and diminished by smartphone social media behavior.
It's as great as it looks but be prepared to wait in a long line to get in. It's hard to take photos bc everything is so dark so expect low quality photos
Don t have the chance to get jn the forest of lamps... the waiting line is up to 1hr. This is a amazing show when you think oh~ this is it? It s just ok and some hidden rooms show up, which is another level of show
I've never seen anything quite like this museum. Beautiful, constantly changing, and there always seems to be more to discover. There were a ton of people when I went, but other than a few areas with long wait times this place is stunning.
This is one of my favorite places on my trip to Japan, you spend around 3-4 hours enjoying the different rooms and shows that they have. Don't miss the show of birds flight (2 on different places), it is amazing.
Amazing - never seen anything like it! We have no idea if we saw it all as there's no map or guide but we loved the lights and can't wait to go again!
I was a bit skeptical going. But my wife told it's a must see attraction. She was definitely right. No other place like it in the world. ever room is so unique and different with it's digital art. the lines were a bit long getting in, took us about 45min. But well worth the wait. It's a must try if you are in Tokyo
Absolutely fantastic venue. I highly recommend going upstairs to the athletic forest for more interactive activities. We spent just under 4 hours viewing everything. If I ever come back I'll be going again with friends that come with.
Amazing place, we had such a great time and would definately return. Fun for all ages.
There was a lot to do so allow yourself the time to properly explore. We spent at least two and a half hours here. There is a train station close by as well which makes this, like everything else very accessible. Be on the look out for secret rooms
Beautiful art experience was great friendly and helpful staff. Lost my pasmo and they held it at information desk until I was finished
Awesome place! The exhibits are so unique and breathtakingly beautiful! It's truly an amazing experience worth having.
Absolute must visit attraction if you're visiting Tokyo. Enjoy hours of fun inside and the lack of defined routes eases any crowding and congestion at any single exhibit
When we visited there were several rooms with fun interactive art. Seemed like it attracted all ages, something for everyone. There can be long lines and wait times during peak times.
One of the best places to visit in Tokyo..... People who are into photography will love this place
Really great exhibits amazing for photos and I recommend checking out the tea house. Their green tea is delicious
Compared to teamLab Planets, this place is huge (and complex, meant to be wandered and explored, always finding a new things, and not seeing everything).
You'll need to queue a lot, but some smaller rooms are free from queues and crowds. If you are trying to pick between Borderless and teamLab Planets, if you want to spend 6 hours, pick Borderless. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend going to Planets - some of the same exhibitions with smaller crowds around, and significantly less queuing.
Despite long queues no long waiting times. Rooms are impressive!
Hands down the most amazing place I ve ever been. It s like a 3 hour trip!
Artwork is pretty interesting. But the place is over commercialized. On a regular Tuesday the queue for one of the item is massively long. Had to skip it.
I would rather be denied entry during prebooking than get in and squeeze about and skip certain items because of massive lines.
Good stuff:
- one of a kind projection mapping wonder. Recommend that you read the description of each exhibit before proceeding to get the maximum experience out of it.
- toilet and vending machine and break area are sufficient for you rest through out the exhibit.
Bad stuff:
- they let in too many people and is too damn crowded to move around. This is on a regular Tuesday ( literally ) with no holidays.
- some exhibits lights are too bright giving me and guest a throbbing headache.
- screaming children really ruins the experience
- lack of map means you have to figure out the maze yourself and chances are you could miss out some exhibits.
Simply amazing
teamLab Borderless is a museum, an installation, an experience... you walk around several rooms and lights, smells, sounds... touch your senses. It's best if you discover it for yourself.
The only drawback is that we didn't buy tickets online. We got there around 10am and we bought tickets to get in at 4pm.
Fusion of art and technology. Interactive exhibits. Amazing
Beautiful light show and has a whole floor of interactive areas for kids. Although lines may look long, it moved quite quickly. Would recommend to families but be sure to hold on tight to children as it is quite dark in the exhibition area.
Bring your wife and she'll be happy. Be completely ready to be her personal photographer. I thought it was a little expensive at first but there's enough to do and felt like the price was justified (3200 yen).
Very crowded but overall there s quite some stuff to do. Not that easy to take a nice pic without the crowd but it s worth the patience to do so
Definitely worth going. Very stimulating. Go early around 10. Minimal waiting time. Starts to get crowded towards the afternoon.
If you've been to Meow Wolf and enjoyed it, you'll love this place. Not as interactive or trippy, but very enjoyable. Plenty to explore and see.
It's an awesome place to enjoy the lighting arts, which is absolutely fantastic. Plan a tour for at least 2.5 hours because it's so big inside. We spent around 2 hours there yet not enough. It's very crowded although we went there on a workday.
The watchout is that it's very dark inside and not friendly for baby. Moreover, the exit sign is almost invisible. It makes you feel like in a maze, which is good if you only want to enjoy arts but terrible if you need to take care of kids. I can't imagine what will happen if there is a fire or emergency. They don't allow strollers inside either. The most ridiculous is that they turn off the escalator and only put staircases in use.
The administrative matters of the similar exhibition in Singapore are so much better than this one.
The best experience ever. Buy tickets online a few days in advance as it is very busy. We had to wait 3 hours to get in. But worth all the wait.
Worth the line up, just wished I had longer to explore. I suggest getting there early, it's an entire day's activity.
Great experience, but even though you have to buy tickets in advance we still had to wait an hour, so only 4/5.
If possible go on weekdays
Beautiful place can stay there the whole day and not be bored. Great for kids and adults. Didnt buy tickets in advance but got in just short line that moved fast.
Fantastic and immersive projection mapped museum. Unbelievably cool, the photos don't do it justice. A must see if you are in Tokyo!
I never see something like this before. Amazing experience, prepare your time so you can enjoy all of the performances. Be note that it will have many people. The second floor is for kids
This digital visual arts museum is extremely nice; the concept of projecting nice pictures from Epson projectors on dark walls and floors and be prettier than imagined... but it s super duper crowded!! For real.
Even arriving there early before opening time (we came at 9:30 AM to be among the first ones) won t save you neither from waiting in line to get in neither from queuing up inside to get into the most popular rooms like the floating nest or the room with the notorious lamps.
Note:
- We waited about 60 to 70 hours each on average to get into those rooms.
- Bring time. We calculated to stay maybe 3 hours max. But ended up staying 5 hours due to queuing up...
- Make sure to bring drinks. There are a couple of vending machine rooms in there, but the drinks are expensive... you re only allowed to drink inside those rooms btw.
No idea about food restrictions, but most definitely also only inside those vending machine rooms
- For the room with the lamps: you queue up for about 60 minutes and they allow little groups of 20 to 30 people to enter; they ask you to leave the room after spending 5 minutes in there
Audiovisual museum. Interactive and sensorial estimating experience. I recommend to go as early as possible because one can easily spend more than 4h playing, taking pictures or simply queueing to see/partake in some activities available. Suitable for families, small or large groups.
Tickets must be purchased prior to the day you're visiting teamLab Borderless. 30 min up to 1h long queue to get inside. Totally worth it though.
Such an amazing experience! Remember to book your tickets online in advance because you can t buy them on the day!
Also, head there early to avoid queues and large crowd inside.
It's amazing experience, truly remarkable maze made of sound and lights downstairs and interactive art exhibition upstairs. And their tearoom is one not to be missed.
I can honestly say this was one of the most amazing places I have visited. Really just spectacular. I would give it 6 stars if possible. They crowds are very well managed and move quickly. You have plenty of time to wander and explore this one of a kind exhibit. Watch your steps though in the Athletic Forest...easy to take a misstep there. Should be a must-do when visiting Tokyo.
What an experience! Tho what your not told is that ul que outside in all weather to get in, that's with a ticket.. Think it took us over an hour.. Bring food with you, its hard to find the cafe but there are places to stop and eat if you're prepared.
Absolutely worth it. My 17 year old son and I spent about 4 hours here. So much fun
If you re into digital art/electrical engineering then this is a must see! My sister also came with me but she rates it more of a 3. It depends on where your personal appreciation for art lies I think. If you re more into tradition art then this might feel like more of a night club to you than anything else. It s very crowded so the art IS harder to enjoy. It s a unique experience and worth seeing if you re heading to palette town for the other sites.
If you can visit at the lowest traffic time of the day do it! Beautiful displays. Photos really can't do them justice... Unless they were taken by the teamlab folks before opening :) lines to exhibits during busy times.
Superb ! However ,it s crowded when I arrived in the afternoon even on Monday . Some of the exhibitions had to wait in line around 15-25mins ...
We were fortunate to buy the afternoon tickets but we only had one hour in the building before it closed. Tickets were expensive but worth it. I would recommend lining up early, it s a very popular exhibit.
Once in a lifetime experience indeed. Must visit if you are in Tokyo.
Queued for 45 mins to get in, saw 4-5 exhibits on the ground floor, then got told we had to queue for an hour to go up to the next floor. Nice exhibits, but not worth the wait.
Very cool concept. An experiential digital museum. Ideal for kids, but as an adult I really enjoyed it as well. It awakens your sense of wonder and exploration of the environment around you. Some rooms have long lines.. we waited almost an hour for one. I would skip the lines and go explore other rooms which are equally interesting.
Great experience. Be there when it opens to avoid really long lines for some of the exhibits
Good time here, amazing works, you get a little "lost" but discover new things.
This place is amazing. Just go in and wander, take your time.
Nice digital arts presentation! Engaging and interactive at 2nd floor exhibitions
Really cool LED works! Would recommend going as soon as it opens or after 3pm as it can get very crowded and lines are long. Other than that, such a different interactive experience! A must see in Tokyo
Absolutely a must!!! So HUGE with plenty to amuse you for the whole day! Definitely worth the price. Best raining day experience in Tokyo!
Beautiful place as recommended by many others. Do try to come as early as possible (before the opening time) to ensure that there will be less people, as it can get quite crowded as the day goes by.
