Poor customer service over the phone. Not flexible to work around schedules.

Brian and Brooks were very professional and friendly. Brooks was sick part of the day, and the new helper was also professional and friendly. They arrived on time and kept me informed of progress. Provided review of everything once work was complete. Final product was as advertised. Very clean and well sealed crawl space.

Had my crawl space sealed off and a dehumidifier installed. The crew from Tar Hell basement was Kenny, Raul and Juan. They were very professional and did an outstanding job. I recommend them if you want crawl space sealed off.

Spoke with Tim Martin who was awesome. He explained the entire process and answered all my questions. I feel like we are in good hands.

Robert Wall and Robert H are the hardest working guys I've ever seen. These guys carried buckets full of concrete for days! The job looks amazing and we could not be more satisfied. So nice to find a vendor that does what the say they are going to.

My husband and I had a concrete slab front porch that was slowly shifting and causing water to run toward the foundation of our house whenever it rained. They came out and did an estimate for the necessary work to relevel the porch. We had estimates done by 3 other companies and theirs was by far the best! They arrived early to our home to start the job and stayed late, working through their lunch, to complete the job in one day. The project required a lot more work and materials than they had anticipated, but they happily did the job and guaranteed that we would only be charged the estimate price we had agreed upon, despite the unforseen additional cost. They were hard-working, courteous, and highly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them!!

I priced several other companies in Holly Springs area. One asked me to hire their engineer 650$ And wanted $22,000 for the job. Overpriced and over rated. Called Tar Heel met with Drew Nicol ,very professional. He pinpointed everything that engineer pointed out and then some that the engineer missed. Drew is not an engineer but obviously is extremely smart, well trained and knows his stuff. He gave me a scale drawing to perfection of underneath the house. Not even the engineer did that he gave me a lame report that was short and looked like a lot of cut and paste. Drew gave me Better price 12,000 and better long term solutions. The day of install and lift George was here on time and he and his crew did a great job. Drew came early to check in with me to calm my nerves. Hutch supervised above and below. He was sweet and looked out for my house. The owners must be proud of this hard working and honest team. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend them.

Skeptical at first but addressed all my concerns. Very professional. From the salesperson to the installers, I was very impressed by their attempt to do a quality job. Had the system for several months now and though it seemed like a lot of money, I have come to the conclusion that I received my moneys worth. No issues at all and a dry basement. Needs to be more companies like Tarheel !

Our condo association board and a unit owner have had an ongoing difference of opinion on how to fix a ground level bedroom slab that has settled, and who is responsible to fix the slab. The board contacted TarHeel Basement Systems. Several of their representatives visited the site at various times. Each was excellent, very knowledgeable and very patient, especially Mike Jones. The Board believes that the TarHeel PolyRestore system is the perfect solution to level the slab at a very reasonable cost. However the owner hired a contractor and removed half the slab preventing use of the PolyRestore System. Even though Mike knew that the owner had already had half the slab removed, at the board's request he inspected the remaining slab and confirmed that after having seen what is under the slab, the PolyRestore process would have raised the slab. He could have just said "there is nothing now to do," but instead he went the extra mile to look at the half removed slab and the supporting dirt to confirm that the slab would have raised just fine. Mike refused, on behalf of TarHeel, to be paid for their substantial time saying "visiting and bidding on jobs is part of the company service." Wow!

I was sure I had the worst basement Tarheel had ever seen. Their technician Bret Eldridge came out and did an assessment - truly, I was ready to sell my house before he suggested a series of solutions that worked. After lots of pumping my basement was fully encapsulated with a sub pump that included a back up battery. The water is gone, the house feels safe and dry again. I can't thank them enough. Out of the three quotes we got Tarheel was the best. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Tarheel.

We ve recently purchased a house, and were under the impression the basement had been waterproofed completely. During a heavy rain storm, we realized that only 2/3rds of the basement had been waterproofed. So we contacted TarHeel Basement Systems since they had serviced part of the basement. They contacted me the day I made the inquiry, set up an appointment, and before the appointment the engineer, Seth Brown, who quoted for the original job contacted me. He made a special appointment on a Sunday to get out there ASAP and give us a quote for the remainder of the basement. We ve scheduled for the work to be done much sooner than their schedule would allow. Haven t had anything but great service from TarHeel Basements so far!

Matt, Steven and Boogie did an amazing job with installing a drainage system in our finished basement. They arrived on time, worked efficiently and kept a very clean and tidy work environment which was super important as we wanted to minimize the affects on our family room and limit the follow up work we had to do. Matt was knowledgable and showed up with all the information needed to start the job and I felt confident he was well informed before arriving which made me feel at ease from the start. He was patient and flexible and most importantly kept us informed as to the status of the project which was completed in 2 days allowing life to get back to normal more quickly. Tim was very professional. He called before he arrived and arrived early (very important to me). He was straight to the point, and very knowledgeable about what the issue. He took detailed pictures and explained in simple terms what was going on. Would give more stars but 5 is the max.

I can't speak for the quality of work but I can speak for the customer service I received. I called asking about a general estimate. I was asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment to have someone come out to give an estimate. I responded that I didn't want to schedule anything quite yet but I wanted just a general estimate for them to install a vapor barrier in a 2,000 square foot crawlspace. The representative responded in a rude manner: "Well I'm sure you can find a local handyman that can give you a hand along the way. Thank you, bye." and hung up the phone. I wish I could remember his name. I called the company back to try and find out who it was but they don't have a way track my call. With out the representative's name there isn't anything that can be done. Call was made on October 23rd at 11:39 AM.

Updated 11/27/19: So after a few months of getting things sorted out with Tarheel, all issues have now been taken care of. The last team to come out (Kenny, Juan, Rual) were great. They had everything installed in less time than we anticipated and were even able to install the steel beam without having to move any duct work (a win in my book). We also appreciate all of of the help we received from Nate and Anthony to determine the best course of action and get everything scheduled.

One thing to note, if you have a choice between the two, I will say the new Raleigh team has better communication than Winston-Salem's.

Orville and his crew did an outstanding waterproofing the finished basement at my house. They were clean, efficient and communicative during the whole process (which didn't take nearly as long as I was anticipating). Very professional company with great employees and never any headaches. Tarheel Basements did an excellent job of mapping out all my options for how to get rid of ground water seeping into my below-grade basement. Drew Nicol spent more than two hours investigating the house to eliminate other sources of the water, drawing a map to scale of my basement, and explaining the finer points of the proposed solution: an indoor drain with flush ports and pump plus a barrier material between the cinderblocks and drywall. The installation crew of Robert, Nathan, and Dale arrived on time and completed the installation in the scheduled two day timeframe. They did a great job of removing all the debris and leaving the house in great condition. When we discovered that the below grade walls were wet higher up than originally thought, I made a change to increase the height of the barrier material. This resulted in more work, so Tarheel Basement sent in another crew on the second day to ensure that the work was completed on time. I would highly recommend Tarheel Basements to anyone needing to waterproof a below grade basement. From the people who answer the phones, to the project manager (Drew), to the installation crew - ALL of them have excellent customer service skills.

Ian, Shawn and Boogie completed my basement waterproofing today. Ian called and stated they were on the way and would arrive @8:30. They were on time and ready to go to work. Ian did the walk-thru with me, while Shawn and Boogie unloaded tools. They were very personable and professional. They worked very hard all day and were very observant concerning their mess and keeping a clean and safe work space. Work was done inside and outside at the same time. They were kind enough to fill in a couple of air spaces in my basement wall/ceiling gap and even took away some of my pre-prep debris. All of them would take time to explain what they were doing and why when I had questions. I kept track of their progress all day which was very strong pace considering most of the work is backbreaking and done on their knees. At completion, they cleaned-up including wiping the floor with towels and mop. Ian and Shawn did final inspection with me (Boogie was sweatn' loading the truck). We signed off on the receipt/work order and they were on the way. I could not be happier with the quality of work or the professionalism of the crew doing it. The crew just left my house after being here for two days. My experience with this company has been excellent, from sales (Alex) to the install team (Zach, Edward, Erik, and Brandon). They installed 19 huge braces to stabilize by basement walls. The crew cleaned up before they left and made sure everything was okay. I had a very positive experience with this company and would recommend them.

Tarheel encapsulated my crawlspace this spring. Last week the power went off during a storm so my sump pump couldn t operate. I decided I needed a battery back-up pump system installed in case we had any more power outages. I contacted Seth Brown and within 24 hours Seth, Tyler, and Bobby came out to my house and installed the system on a Friday evening. I really appreciated their quick response to my problem. They went out of their way to help me. I appreciate the great customer service.

Great company with great result. We have a large concrete pool deck with several inches of settling over a large area and Tar Heel Basement systems repaired this problem in one day. They also repaired a similar problem with a concrete walkway. Would highly recommend.

The crew, Orville, Ken, and Kyle, did a great job. They worked quickly and well. They were very helpful and professional. They explained exactly what they planned to do and then they completed the work well. They afforded the opportunity to see exactly how the system works by showing us, at key points, what the installation looked like.
They were very careful to cover the work area, it is a dusty job after all.
I did note that they were all utilizing the correct protective equipment for the work. To me this is a sign that a company that values their employees.

Tar Heel Basement Systems is an awesome company to correct leaky basements.. Starting with Alex Gutierrez, who initially came to look at the basement, diagnose the problem and explain how it could be corrected. He was very personable and took time to explain how the Tar Heel Basement System works. I asked if I could speak and see work at customers who have already had the work done. After visiting and speaking with several customers who have have the work done between 10 years and a year and a half ago, I was excited about making the decision to go with Tar Heel Basement Systems. What I saw was in good shape with no hint of the areas smelling like a basement. All customers spoke highly of the work ethics and process of the company. Staff was exceptional. The Project manager for my work, De'Vonta called about 45 minutes before arriving each of the days of work. He and the workers were neat, personable and knowledgable. De'Vonta went over each step of the process. They worked together like a well oiled machine. My personal belongings were securely wrapped in plastic to prevent dust coverage, De'Vonte was not bothered by what might have been the smallest question. The area was actually left neater than it was found.

The company's inspector made a visit to check over the work and took time to ask whether or not I was satisfied with the work so far. Even my plumber said that he has know Tar Heel to do great work. My family and I were surprised at how the system was able to dissipate the dampness and basement odor.The inspector, De'Vonta, the foreman and his staff as well as Alex all made the project a pleasant experience. I have a fresh and usable space again. I am pleased with the guarantee, financing and followup plan, if needed. I feel so relieved without becoming overwhelmed at the possibility of rain. I would recommend Tar Heel Basement Systems.

Tarheel employees Brian,Juan and Leo just finished digging and installing a french drain and sump pump in my crawl space. I am very impressed with their quality work and how professional they were, they even covered my patio floor while working so they wouldn't track mud on it Upon completion of job Brian thoroughly explain all they did and how sump pump works and told me to call him if there are any problems in future. my whole experience dealing with Tarheel Basements has been pleasant everyone has been very courteous and professional and I highly recommend them for any problems in crawlspaces

Tar Heel basement systems raised several portions of my sunken sidewalk today. They did a great job!! I recently contracted Tarheel Basement Systems to fix my flooding problem in my mountain house on Bald Mountain in Banner Elk. Never would I ever have thought I'd have a flooding problem as my house is sitting on the top of a ridge with water only being able to go down hill. However, I have really learned agreat deal about sources of flooding and other potential hazards associated with uncontrolled water flow from Tarheel Engineers.
All of the emoloyees who helped me from the estimating process to helping me prepare for my project as well as those workers who performed the work were so thorough, knowledgeable and considerate to deal with. They have gone way out of there way to make sure I have been comfortable with their preparation to ease the impact of the contruction process and have convinced me that their goal is make sure they do an excellent job on my project, make my flooding issue gone, and leave my house in a condition better than they found it.
My hat's off to Geoff Kelley, the estimator engineer; Henry Hacker, my job supervisor; and his co-workers, Jeff and Charlie, who all were the finest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
I have been through three house renovations before as well as new house construction. Never have I been so impressed with the dedication, manners and courtesy, and delivery of promises, the lack of which is the number 1 issue of contempt between all customers and their contractors, as I experienced with these fine gentlemen. They all were exceptionally awesome!

I had a very big basement job. They started on time and finished on time. My basement is cleaner than it has been in years! System installed in 2018, have had a few updates to the original work. This last team with Foreman Robert, Co-Foreman Henry and Installer Gerry arrived promptly, were knowledgeable and friendly and made sure everything was tidy before they left. Hoping this update can handle days of deluge as we saw last month.
