The hotel is run down, severely aged, dirty, and poorly run. The rooms are more like a motel 6 and desperately need extensive remodeling. There was foul odor coming from the bathroom. Bedding and Mattresses are severely worn. As you walk around you can see things aging and not being properly maintained. The level of staff is also not on par. This is not a high end hotel by international standards and is more of a hotel for locals.

This is one of the most well-known hotels in Tagaytay. They do offer an excellent view of the lake. The lobby and restaurant look nice but once you get to the the rooms which is in a separate building, things really start to show their age. The rooms and elevators badly need an update. The floors are scratched, some king size beds are just two beds put together, etc. The food is so-so. There's a standard bit of variety in their buffet and menu; most are just OK, nothing outstanding. Overall, this is a hotel with a reputation larger than the unremarkable experience it offers.

They have a good set of food. Local cuisines and desserts are sumptuous. International dishes, mostly Mediterranean and Spanish, are palatable as well. A local trio band serenades the guests as well; first song is free, but if you request a song, it is implied that you have to give a decent tip for their performance.

The buffet was excellent... The room in the mountain wing is fine (should try the lake wing, looks more enticing)...service was prompt...beautiful gardens...courteous and efficient staff...recommendable!

This would have been a five star if it weren't for the following:

I ordered amaretto coffee...too bitter. I also could not taste the almond essence that is supposed to come with amaretto liquor.

Crowd control - during peak season, there should be more people to keep the ambiance in place, thus staff should remind their guests to keep the noise down.

We went to the hotel for coffee and dessert, and we were pleasantly surprised to have been serenaded by talented musicians! Their presence in the area (that was becoming increasingly noisy and rowdy because of undisciplined children) saved our experience!

The original room we were assigned was a bit of a disappointment. Must say that their room and wing allocations are bit misleading. Lake wing does not mean that you see the lake at all. In our case the garden view was actually a balcony looking onto a wall, decorated with a view plants. Luckily the ladies at the reception were helpful and managed to show us a few other rooms allowing us to change. Rooms are comfortable, though the king size bed was very hard, but must say I slept well. The hotel has a fantastic view and is well maintained. Breakfast buffet is great, but I noticed that on the day we were there the hotel was full and I'm that case the restaurant is too small. The entire lobby is occupied for the breakfast. Not a fantastic set up as most of the lobby chairs are relaxing chairs/sofas not immediately comfortable to have breakfast and you are far from the buffet. We were lucky to sit out. On these occasion they should look into other solutions so that people can have a comfortable breakfast, maybe use a function room. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

View is good and staffs were polite (talking about their lounge and bar, however, their catering services was not good. I think they need to improve their events coordination especially for a corporate or business gatherings. But when it comes to weddings and family getaway, I think they're doing a great job!

Below international standard hotel. Need to improve housekeeping. Dinner food is OK but way of service need training. Breakfast was not impressive. Only the view can be the reason your staying.

Why it was good.

Why it was good.

Staff were lovely, Upgrading rooms was easy, Views were good. hotel is very clean. Beds are comfy. Everyone was helpful no matter the time.

What was bad

The food! Not the kitchens fault. But a toasted, stale BLT sandwich. The bread tasted like it was past expiration, None of the flavours went well together. The bread was small, and was overall not worth more than 90 pesos. Taal vista hotel could be a core centrepiece if they operated the kitchen a lot better and invested in it, even getting outside attention just for food.

Pizza, Once again, not worth the price. 4 cheeses, And the cheese wasnt enough

2 drinks, These were good. Amazing in fact

Overall the hotel really needs to work on the food put out, You shouldnt need to goto the coffee project to get a really good BLT for less money then the hotel.

- if you were to stay here, Id suggest bringing your own food or getting some delivered. Hotel food is very bad. Probably has turned us off going here again.

Very nice hotel with a multiple restaurants. I tried the buffet which was well stocked and had a variety of dishes to try. Definitely come with an appetite if you plan on eating there.

The foyer and the rest of the hotel was clean and aesthetically pleasing, definitely worth a visit just to see the island and volcano. I unfortunately came on a rainy day and was not able to enjoy the outdoors as much.

Sure worth the time and money
Very friendly and courteous staff. Well-maintained rooms. Great entertainment. Parking is not a problem. We spent the holidays without the hassle. Except for the traffic going to the place itself. Safe environment for the kids.

The location of this hotel was perfect! However, I feel like there are a lot of things that can be improved. The hallways are all dimly lit, and when we got to our room, it smelled a bit moldy. Upon checking, I realized that the side tables had mold in them that were not wiped. The pillows smelled horrible too.

We were moved into a room that was much nicer, and we asked for bathrobes but they never arrived. The pillows were still smelly of course. The sliding door in our room wouldn t close properly, and there was a weird smell in the bathroom. In our 3 days of staying there, our room wasn t cleaned even once.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the nice view of this hotel. I don t think the price tag is justified though, the service really needs a lot of improvement.

The efficiency of the staff more than compensated for whatever they lack in terms of toiletries and other room amenities. Around 2am, our air conditioner in the room started leaking heavily that it almost flooded the whole room. Called front desk and after 5 or so minutes two technicians arrived and started fixing the problem. Trouble shooting was done in less than 20 minutes and everything was back to normal, they cleaned up the mess and was out immediately. Though we have to ask for toilet paper several times at least the quick response more than makes up for it. The view of course was fantastic.

Viewing deck had an amazing view of the crater of Taal Volcano. The lake was breathtaking and having a Lakeview room definitely was a plus as there was a wedding anniversary party doing a photo shoot while I was checked in here.

Facilities are beginning to show their age as the a.c. in the gym was not working when I went to work out. However, a call to the operator (there was no attendant in the gym at the time I was working out) got it sorted out quickly.

Had no issues in my room with Wi-Fi connectivity, but did come across some dead spots throughout their sprawling complex.

A welcome drink and snack were a surprise as were the free drinks in the room. The included breakfast buffet was satisfying but nothing screamed out as a reason to eat there. The cafe in the lobby had an interesting array of munchies and the strawberry cheesecake I had was great, but not exquisite enough to be declared the best I've had in my life.

A big bonus is that it is right next door to Skyranch. That means you can hear the screams, yelps, and ambient noise from a theme park at random times of the day.

Had to park my car myself but they do have valet services and they do validate parking so you don't pay a single centavo. They also have basement parking, where I ended up parking after a brief trip out of the hotel. However, they need visible signs to indicate where a certain passage leads you, as it was quite easy to take the wrong passage. As I was checking out, I did find out that you have to be checked in first to avail the valet parking, which I think is something the guard at their security barrier/checkpoint should have pointed out to a frustrated driver who ended up parking her car a few meters from the main lobby entrance.

Overall I had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

What a find! The flabread pizza is good. The bacon is awesome. The Beef Stroganoff is divine, with hinta of truffle oil. Not to miss is their famous Olive Oil Ice Cream. Must visit when in Tagaytay.

Such a majestic place to be in.. We were able to bring my uncle on a wheelchair for sight seeing but the place needs more update on the ramps. But overall experience is awesome... Wish to comeback again...

The place where is the Hotel is great. In fact you can enjoy the scenery around and admire the Taal Volcano. The hotel is very large. Inside there are large Lobby and various Rooms. It has lots of rooms. The only flaw is its corridors. The latter are long, sad and give you a feeling of closed and tight. As for the rooms okay. Clean rooms etc .. The Taal Vista Hotel also has a restaurant where you can have breakfast. The restaurant offers a wide range of foods to choose from. Obviously the traditional cuisine is the predominant one, but there are also elements for a western breakfast. All in all the hotel is not bad, but I expected better.
