SSSSSOOOOO TASTY!!! Fast service, delicious brisket and even better pulled pork! I wouldn't recommend the coleslaw though.

Much better brisket elsewhere in Austin. Great name though!!
A show and a drink with a chopped bbq brisket sandwich. I'm with it. Hotel across the street is a major plus. All In walking distance from anything you want in DT Austin. Check it out.
No reservations were required for my Monday lunch, although the place was busy (but not full) right about noon. This was my first visit, and I happened to enter through the bar. There's no greeter stand, and I wanted to eat outside, so I walked on back. There was a momentary confusion as one of the staff, who was maybe helping out the assigned person, got me squared away, but I appreciated her willingness to do what needed doing. She brought me a menu, and my server was over a second later. Marcos was polite, and when he saw I knew what I wanted, we got the order-taking done in a jiffy, and I buried my nose in the paper.
He was back with the food faster than I expected. I got a pork sparerib plate, with collard greens and their serrano spinach. The 3 ribs were meaty and well barbecued--sauce is tasty, not too sweet, could use a smidge more chile for my preference, and is served on the side in squeeze bottles. As far as I saw, there's only one sauce variety. The meat portion was *maybe* a little small for the price, but not excessively so. The collards were well-prepared and spiced. The spinach is diced and mixed with a spicy cheese sauce. I'd never had that kind of preparation, and liked it very much, though I wouldn't have thought diced spinach would be a good idea. It turns out it is.
Marcos checked on me the appropriate number of times to communicate good service but not cross the line into pestering, and brought the check right after someone else noticed I'd finished and took my plate. Overall a very fine lunch with minimal fuss.
I can't speak to the food because I just went to see Cold War Kids. Show was awesome and the venue didn't get in the way. That's pretty ideal, if you ask me.
A depressing excuse for a barbecue joint as well as a restaurant. We ordered our food and brisket was good, but everything else was completely over cooked. The coleslaw tasted of rotting cabbage (probably because they made their coleslaw and let it sit in a Cambro in their walk in until the cabbage at the bottom began to rot, thus permeating the rest of he food with that moldy flavor.), and the potatoes in the potato salad tasted scorched and bitter. After we fought our way through this tragedy of a meal, our waitress clocked out and left to which we were transferred over to another waiter. I watched him and all of the other waiters proceed to take whiskey shots behind the bar before he gave us our bill. Once we paid I went to their restroom and watched another waiter go in to take a leak, then proceed to not wash his hands, and go back to work. This place is an overpriced garbage pile that makes money off of what it may have once been and completely ignorant tourists. Any local with a brain would avoid this place like the plague and so should you.
Great food, great show. Always a guaranteed good time at Stunb's!
Great venue area! Just saw a show (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard) and it has a lot of space to accommodate a bunch of people. Heard the food is amazing; I've yet to discover this, so update to come!
Didn't go for the food, instead went to see a show (Local Natives). The venue was nice and open, good sound system, and security. I would go back to see another music act there.
Undoubtedly the best concert venue in Austin. The outdoor stage provides a nice breeze in the summer and the surrounding buildings block out wind and cold in the winter. Be sure to get there slightly early to get a spot under the canopy. Look up at the during your favorite song ( the canopy resembles the underside of a blue whale, in my opinion) and soak in the serenity as lights reflect off of the imagined ocean landscape while melodies fill the cozy, open space.
If I only could give more stars to this place.
The bbq is astonishing: I got brisket and chicken (2 meal plate). Huge portions, enough to feed full grown human.
Plus amazing live bands even in this covid times. Cannot dream of more.
Cool little BBQ joint. Friendly staff, great food.
Good food. Sunday Gospel brunch was fun. Good outdoor music venue for nights. Great bbq.
Great venue for BBQ and music. We're there for a private party and staff did a great job. Ribs were very tender and the homemade sausage had great flavor.
Solid atmosphere, big bar area, and live music downstairs. Really good BBQ, but you've likely had better. Sides were really good.
Great food and cool little joint with live music... Excellent barbecue beef brisket!!
I am from Kansas and that is some of the BEST BBQ I have every had!!!!! Great service and great atmosphere!!!!
Went here for lunch on a weekday trip. The food was fair but very overpriced. The decor was fun and Texas. The waiter was good and answered several out of towner questions. Was disappointed to see them fill the sauce container from a retail sauce container. At least I thought the sauce would be made on site since it is supposed to be famous.
I didn't feel so welcome in this place, despite being well attended, so I still have 5 stars. Beautiful decoration, I liked it very much. I like the buffalo wings, but I need more hottness.
Meh. I suspect there are better BBQ spots in Austin. Am working my way through them. Mashed potatoes and collared greens were tasty. Had 6 different meats. Only the turkey was moist and flavorful. Pulled pork, angus steer brisket, pork rib were all dry and not very flavorful. Chopped brisket was okay.
Food was good. Got there about 7pm and there was very few choices of food. Guess you should get there early. Had sausage and brisket which were good. Only one Choice for bbq sauce.
The food was wonderful and the singing exceptional Bishop Briggs was so fun. They invited people on the stage to sing. It is definitely worth the trip!
The customer service was also very amazing. Someone in the balcony dumped a drink on my fiancee and without asking her meal was comped and she was offered a free tee shirt. They even fixed her another plate.
This was my boyfriend and I first time there. Server was very nice and food was great. Especially the Ribs. They just fall of the Bone and the Brisket was soooo tender... Will b visiting there again
The truth is you eat very rich and very good tried by the employees and most importantly there are staff who speak Spanish I recommend it
1st time visit. Arrived approximately 11:45am and it was not overly packed. Did not have to wait to be seated. Host and waiter were attentive and friendly. They made sure we were taken care of during the visit.
Love the ambiance of the restaurant. Classic Texas BBQ joint with wood floors. Overall, it was welcome and clean.
Overall, this is a must stop on anyone's BBQ tour of Texas. Definitely gonna stop by again.
Side note: Gonna try something here. First off, I took this picture of Mike Ness of Social Distortion last night at @stubbsaustin In Austin Texas. Let's begin.... If this were a game of pool, I'd be the 8 ball, corner pocket, at the final More
Cool place, definitely Texas and definitely Austin. The sauce is unbeatable, just a little crowded is all.
Quintessential Austin, Stubb's is a great venue to go to if you're visit or just moved here. Love.
Cool place to hang have a beer listen to music and eat bbq
I've only been in here for the music, but it's always a blast! Free week was awesome.
This is the most Austin bbq place to visit. Live music and amazing food. Located right in the heart of downtown Austin within walking distance to the famous 6th street and several other points of interest. This restaurant is the description of Austin. Check out the website for a list of upcoming concerts.
Went to see King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard at Stubb's, their venue was cooler than I expected of a BBQ joint! It was a fantastic show, never got to try the food though
Visited 2017-12-10 and ordered the Stubbs Major. Chose Collard greens and beans as the sides and Brisket, pork ribs and turkey as the meats. Overall a letdown. Lacking the smokey flavour you expect from BBQ. Best part of the meal was the greens.
Staff were friendly.
For a better BBQ check out Freedmans or Le Barbeque
I recently saw Flock of Dimes and Sylvan Esso at Stubb's and let me tell you, this was hands down the most organized concert I have ever been to thanks to the staff. Everyone was well informed, friendly, and helpful! The doors even opened a few minutes EARLY, which in my experience is usually the opposite problem with most concerts. Such an enjoyable time and I will definitely make it my goal to see more concerts here!
I visited this venue to see Greta Van Fleet perform. Show was awesome. The music venue from Stubs is all our doors with a general admission and a vip admission. There is no seating for general admission. Want a good spot close to stage? better get in line a few hours early. Plenty of beer stands with porta potty restrooms. Very litte shade for day shows in the summer. This venue is very well run. Plenty of staff to help.
I highly reccommend the vip tickets. You get an air-conditioned area with personal bar and restrooms with seating. Free bbq is also provided with vip. You have 2 private balconies. One close to stage and one elevated in back of venue. Great times here!!!!
Great Venue. Might be tough to see for the vertically challenged. But, at least the beer is cheap.
I've yet to see a show at Stubb's since I've lived in Austin, but the food is pretty decent. It was my very first intro to Texas BBQ and my first time trying to figure out why we got white bread with pickles and onions (now I know it's the only way to do it!). I would always come back if in the area.
Was there to see Social Distortion. Great Venue to see bands play
First rate chicken and sausage but the brisket is not as moist as other joints.
Wonderful smoked BBQ. Not too smokey and bbq sauce is on the side. Great meats and sides!
I had high hopes coming here, big fan of the sauces and marinades. However the food was not up to par compared to other local establishments. The mashed potatoes were cold. Man n cheese was luke warm, but tasty and really creamy. The brisket almost needed a knife to cut. While this would pass as acceptable in most places, it doesn't in Austin.
Amazing BBQ restaurant, there was an option for all you can eat, but I had the 3 item platter with an appetizer and it was more than enough food for me. Would eat there again!
The coleslaw was awesome, I had the brisket and pulled pork where melt in your mouth good. The service was fast and hot for carry out. I will stop again on my way through Austin.
Not the best BBQ in town, but the employees and service is excellent.
The food was good but the service was not that great, felt very rushed to leave so they could close.
Staff was great and atmosphere was nice too, but seriously do not go here if you are looking for food Texas BBQ- can t even taste the smoke.
The name Stubbs is well known for BBQ sauce. However, the venue of Stubbs is arguably the best place to catch a concert in the love music capital of the world! Come early for a bite and stay late to catch a show. Only the best groups pass through Stubbs and any show in their outdoor stage is worth your time. Stubbs is not just BBQ, Stubbs is an experience.
The brisket here is hit or miss. The sauce is slightly sweet and tangy. I enjoyed the cornbread. Service is average.
Nice venue & workers. Rating the bbq & bbq sauce against others in Austin this place is ranked last.
The venue is fantastic, the view and acustics are great from wherever you are!
This is not a place to go for the food (it is decent enough thou) but for the whole experience. Great music and really nice staff.
Classic gospel blues, great BBQ brunch. The BBQ sauce is the Texas standard for me. You can find it at the supermarket. Great service too. Variety of top notch musical acts play there.
Stubb's is pretty amazing. I absolutely love it. I've visited Stubb's a million different times for a million different reasons and they have always been great. Concerts are a blast, food is always delicious. Now I'm planning a private event for our office and I'm sure the Stubb's will knock it out of the park again!
The interior is like something old. As if from the 1960s. The tables and chairs are like camping, wooden long tables for mixed use - you can find yourself on a long table with a bunch of people you do not know. The food is delicious, although there is not much abundance. Too expensive for such a cheap type of restaurant. For example, 1/2 lb of porcine ribs is $ 7, which is about $ 25-26 / kg without a garnish. Veal is a bit more expensive to 8-9 $ for 1 / 2lb, turkey $ 7.72 for 1 / 2lb (pure meat). Do not eat in plates but on sheets of paper. The restaurant is self-service. You get it in some old plastic crates.
Decent ribs (tender) but lacked a punch. Not a fan of pinto beans (need some honey baked beans). Potatoe skins were the best part :)
From dinner and drinks to concerts this is one of my absolute favorite venues! BBQs great and not a bad seat in the house!
J Mascis on stage and a mushroom on my brain.....one of those perfect nights
I love the gospel brunch. Its a great Sunday experience. The barbeque is also great.
Food was great. Lobed the atmosphere. Waitress wasn't friendly or attentive. Maybe she was having a bad night. I would recommend going though. Food was awesome.
