Our visit to Stubbs was a good one. Really nice decor and warm welcome. Food was tasty, just wasn't the best we tasted while in Austin. We had the pork ribs, brisket and a portion of wings. The pork ribs didn't fall off the bone enough for my liking, but the taste was good, and the brisket was moist. The wings were also very tasty. Would recommend, but make sure you visit other bbq joints in Austin as well. There is a wide range of gifts you can buy here as well. Definitely worth a visit.

They served lemonade to kids in cups with lids but no straws. Workers lack common sense. The groups of intoxicated homeless people nearby didn't help the atmosphere either. The food was ok. We won't be going back.

I've eaten here a couple times, and the food is okay, but I think it's not worth the price. The real reason to come here is for the music, let's be honest. I've seen some of the best shows here, both inside and outside. By far one of my favorite music venues in Austin. I've been countless times to see my favorite local bands and I'm always stoked when I see "bigger" acts are playing outside. The option for food here is nice, but the musicians they host are the reason to come.

Stubb's Bar-B-Q is my favorite outside music venue in Austin. The tickets prices for shows are fair and no matter where you choose to stand you will have a great view of the stage. The food is great and the drinks are not overpriced. I highly recommend this place!

You can find Stubb's BBQ sauce in grocery stores all over the world. If you did not know, there is also a restaurant located in Austin. Stubb's actually started in my wife's hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Even President Barack Obama has stopped in here for lunch. The next time Obama was in town, he stopped at Franklin Barbecue. That man loves his barbecue. It has been a while since I have eaten at Stubb's. The last time I ate here was on a Sunday during brunch. You have to make a reservation to attend the Gospel Brunch. The brunch buffet features items like brisket, migas, catfish, and enchiladas with a live band for entertainment.

It was freezing cold outside when I went, but it was nice and toasty inside. I got the three-meat plate with the Texas trinity of moist brisket, ribs, and house sausage with sides of serrano cheese spinach and hand-cut fries. The brisket had a thick red smoke ring. The meat was tender but lacked favor, and the crust had a creosote aftertaste. You can get creosote with too much smoke, stale smoke, or a dirty smoker. Air needs to flow efficiently through a smoker. The sauce did help mask the taste. The rub on the ribs tasted good and were also smoky. The ribs were soft but were dry on certain bites. The sausage was fine. It was heavy on black pepper, and I liked that. The casing was chewy though. The hand-cut fries were great. It tasted fresh and was a nice change of pace. The spinach was similar to a thicker creamed spinach with spicy undertones. It was served lukewarm but was tasty. I was so full after the meal. There was an all you can eat option during lunch. I would be useless at work the rest of the day if I had done that.

If you want to grab a quick bite when you are downtown, Stubb's BBQ is an okay option. For locals, it will probably be a disappointment, but for tourists, it might be one of their better BBQ experience. Amber and I see a lot of concerts here. It is not best venue to see a show because it can get hot outside. The beer prices are not bad, and they serve barbecue sandwiches. On the way back to work, I drove by Franklin hoping for a short line because of the lousy weather. To no avail, I kept on driving.

I love the gospel brunch here! Make reservations in advance and get there a few minutes early to get in line to get a seat near the stage. The performers are always great and the food is good down home cooking. The Bloody Mary bar is a must as well!

Gospel BBQ Brunch on Sunday! Can I get an AMEN? I don t know if I got the Jesus bumps from the fantastic gospel music that had the spirit moving or the all you can eat sliced beef brisket- whooo! Can I get a witness? Stubbs is having church at 10:30 and 12:30 every Sunday- and clearly an historic BBQ joint figured out how to have church the right way before the church did!

I haven t had a chance to eat here but attended a live concert (Hippie Sabotage), so all my experience therefore photos are about that event. It s a great outdoor venue with appx 1,000+ capacity. Sound system is not great but definitely enough. Many stalls for drinks and food are very convenient. Venue is perfectly located, not too far and just about the right distance from downtown (Rainey Str and 6th Str are all walking distance. All in all, a great venue.

Went for a late lunch (1:30) Friday after a flight into Austin. The place was pretty much dead. I ordered the brisket (on the bartender's recommendation). It was overcooked, dry, and a bit bland. Bloody Mary was weak as well (could barely even taste the tomato juice).

Really loved the gospel music. The venue is really cool and reserving balcony seats is a must. Unfortunately, the Stubb'e BBQ part of the deal is very average. The brunch was just average. A damn shame that the music dwarfs the food so much.

1st time here. The food is good. The gospel brunch was right on time. Nothing like eating and praising the Lord. Great end to my birthday weekend. A friend recommended this place and she was right. I love this place will be back again

One star only because I can't give a negative, the worst I've ever had. The ribs were dry and bland no seasoning at all, the sausage was cold and greasy. Water dripped from the ceiling onto my wife. Never again!

The good: We got a table right away, at 5:30 in the afternoon.

The bad: Barbecue is pretty sorry, pulled pork, brisket, sausage all left me asking myself "How does this terrible BBQ exist in Austin, TX?" So beyond the food, the service was pretty sorry. The price was pretty expensive. Last but not least, Obama at here, that should tell you that it is going to be pretty crappie, if Obama likes it, I probably don't like it.

Final Verdict: I wouldn't recommend you or anyone every visit this establishment.

I've been here multiple times and never had a bad meal. The service is excellent and the BBQ is top notch. I wish I was in town longer to catch a show. Maybe one day my timing will work out. Can't wait to be back at Stubb's.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm a Cook!" that's what the label says on the bottled goodness. The marketing for the BBQ sauce is great and the location is clutch. The food isn't anything spectacular besides the sauce and the waiter my party had was efficient but didn't seem to be interested in waiting tables at the time. Go for a show--Stubb's is a great outdoor venue--or just dinner for an authentic Austin experience.

BBQ was okay but nothing special. But if walking from downtown (just two blocks from our luxury hotel) grip your wallet and purse tightly because it becomes a rough area quickly and don't dare walk it at night. Take a pass and try Lambert's on the other end of downtown. Yes we are tourists, but stay safe.

Since they make the family-favorite BBQ sauce, this place was not to be missed. And it did not disappoint! At mid-afternoon, we were seated immediately, service was prompt, and food was served quickly. The brisket and onion rings are musts.

I was disappointed with this establishment. We bought tickets online with fees and all to see Tyler Childers. We rented a hotel in walking distance and all things said spent around 400 for one night stay, concert, food, drinks, etc. We kept up with weather reports and we're aware the concert might be cancelled or rescheduled. So we went early, asked questions, watched the establishment Facebook site all stating that rain or shine the concert would go on. We put on our rain gear, showed up two hours early, waited in line, got our spot and were excited to enjoy the show. The sound quality was terrible. Right as the main entertainment was to perform an announcement came on that storm cell was coming and we were to leave the venue. But no talk of refunds just for us to wait outside of their property and when all was clear they would reopen the gates. We attempted to enter the restaurant but the waitress said only vip we're allowed inside and they locked the doors. We were locked out no word, no rain, no refund. Finally after one to two hours the gates were opened and the crowd scrambled towards the stage. A few songs in my husband and I looked at each other and left. We could not believe that we actually waited and waisted our hard earned money on this. Stubb's had no care for our personal safety, just so long as we didn't get hurt on their property that was obvious. Stubb's offered no refund, horrible sound and rude staff. Except for the stage security, who was a great guy, he is the only reason I put any stars on this rating at all! Not returning.
