Good food and drink. Service could be better but they are always busy. Classic Texas BBQ.

The food here isn't very good at all. I have lived a half a block away from here for 3 years and never eat there but once a year when I have to remind myself why Stubbs is so bad. The Queso is an embarrassment to be offered on a menu in Austin in which Queso before a meal is almost a tradition. I really hope tourists don't get their Austin Queso experience to come from Stubbs, it is nothing but nacho cheese and horrible. The BBQ isn't that great either with a rather uninspired sauce in arguably one of the best markets in the nation for BBQ. Save your money and your Austin BBQ experience to go somewhere else, I have eaten at pretty much every BBQ place downtown multiple times and Stubbs should be your choice only if it is the only place open to eat.
Consistently disappointing live music experience. Sound is awful, always, unless you're in the tiny area in front of the stage. If you look at the venue on the map (satellite view) you can plainly see how careless the setup is the stage More
Delicious as always! I got brisket, turkey, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes which are always perfect. The mac and cheese was better than usual, not as watery. Their salsa is AMAZING and queso is delicious! I can't wait to go back!
Surprised, greasy brisket, not happy with that. Way to much grease
I got the brisket and ribs from here and they were both dry as can be. It s like they had been sitting out for half a day or completely over cooked would not recommend
The bbq was tasty but the sauce is better then what you buy. I was very satisfied visiting here.
Delicious and awesomely priced! Four people and a toddler ate for under $50 with tip. Food was so so sooooooooo good
Not impressed. Sausage and brisket were good but chicken and pulled pork were dry.
Seeing a show here can be kind of annoying if you aren't super close to the stage. You literally can't see the band playing.
We so very much enjoyed the food, but he atmosphere and the customer service
Food and service was great. I have a better bar selection at home than Stubbs offers for lunch. Prices were a little high for the quantity of food received.
Been to a few concerts here. Good outdoor venue. Never sampled the food but I'm told it's good.
Great outdoor music venue. Big acts and local there is a restaurant but I've never eaten there. Heard good things about it
Came here in the evening on 4th of July. We were promptly seated and orders taken, and food didn't take very long at all. Staff was very friendly, food was tasty with good portions. Coke was a little on the flat side, but no complaints otherwise
Had a conference gathering at Stubb's BBQ. The food was great, along with the servers, bar tenders, and musical artist.
Very generous portions, great price and awesome food
Very tasty bbq. Friendly and fast service. Price ok
Has a small stage but good views at times plenty of places to buy drinks free ice water the wait for merchandise can be long at times depending on the band
Can only speak about the venue but amazing for concerts.
Good BBQ with good portions and friendly service. Would be better had the meats served warm.
First called to ask about the dining situation in the restaurant, saying that there was no need to wait, but it took 30 minutes to arrive at the scene.
After sitting down, I also said that we could order directly, or waited another 30 minutes before someone came to order.
The serving was pretty fast, but the meat, onion rings and other side dishes were not hot, and it felt like it had been there for a while.
The food was average, not particularly tasty, and very small.
There are many staff, each looks busy, but the service is not satisfactory, as if busy.
Would never return and it is not recommended.
Excellent food. The sides were amazing and the value for money was great.
Came here around 7pm and my party of 3 were seated immediately. We ordered two of the "3 meat, 2 sides" combos and it was a good amount of food for us. At $20 each combo, the pricing was not bad at all. The brisket was soft and juicy, as was the chicken. The chopped beef was alright, but should have gotten double the brisket instead. The mac n cheese, potatoes salad, pinto beans were solid sides. The serrano spinach was okay but would not get again. All in all, a solid BBQ place that I would revisit if in Austin again.
Saw a concert here. Enjoyed it, but was freezing out in the cold! Maybe spread some heaters around in winter :)
Great barbecue. Behind the restaurant is the Waller creek amphitheater where they have live shows. Food cost and show cost are usually both pretty reasonable. Be aware that although the restaurant and venue are pretty safe there has been an uptick of crime in that Red River and 6th street neighborhood area.
Amazing brisket and sausage. Fall off the bone ribs. Biscuits the way you would expect them in texas
The cobbler was great, everything was really good, after touring BBQ joints all day, I expected it to be commercial and kind of over done, but I was pleasantly surprised, not one thing we ordered was less than a 9/10. Really good experience, loved the staff, thought the live music was cool too. Glad to finally get this one checked off the list, I've been a big fan of the sauces for a long time!
Awesome indoor and outdoor music venues. Top name artists.
1st time visiting... the chopped beef, the brisket & ribs were very good! The turkey was moist, tender. None of the meat was overly seasoned. The potato salad was good. Most times potato salad at BBQ spots are either heavy on the mayo or heavy on the mustard. My hubby also like the mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes were REAL potatoes.
25 to 30 Minute wait...
They need more seating...
Didn't get to eat there.
Huge waterbug on the wall while having dinner. Food is just okay
never had the food; venue is probably my most hated in town; terrible sound and can get dusty, always has terrible crowds
It might have been the word of mouth build up but to be truthful - it was just ok.
The brisket was dry and the sides were ok.
Service was friendly but a little slow.
If in Austin I would recommend going to Stubbs for music but for bbq there s lots of other places to choose from.
Not the best place for BBQ by any measure, but the outdoor venue is great.
I was reading some of the reviews and someone compared Stubb's to Bill Miller, I have been to Bill Miller and it is hands down the worst BBQ place I have ever been too, its like going to a cafeteria... horrible. Stubb's in my experience had good service and the more important, the BBQ was pretty damn tasty. Brisket and the Sausage moist, tender and good smoky flavor. Parking on the other hand might be hard to find,, only street parking available.
Stubbs is a BBQ name that anyone is Austin would recognize. Many nearby music venues boast of "BBQ from Stubbs" and "Ice Cream from Amy's". They are both very well known and loved Austin names.
This is a good place to come to. It does have an old Austin feel to it.
Elle King & Barns Courtney show! Great show, Great outdoor venue. Actual BBQ and other food is nothing to write home about.
Still loving their brisket and bbq sauces. One of the best in Austin.
Traditional Texas BBQ joint with a great music venue. Brisket was Prime quality with an even smoke flavor and nice bark. The Turkey was moist with the right amount of rub and even smoke. The sides are your standard sides can't go wrong with potato salad and coleslaw. As always don't forget dessert!
Awesome place to see a killer show or eat some smokin BBQ!
No need to book, nice staff but not the best bbq I've had either..! Brisket and fried okra where the fave, fried chicken started far too dry.
One of my favorite places to attend concerts in Austin and enjoy some delicious BBQ while I'm listening to music. Good prices as well.
Classic restaurant in the city of Austin, selling typical Texas dishes
VIP area is a great place to be for concerts. Free food and short bar lines.
Went to my first concert here the other day and had a great time! All the shade from the trees made the outdoor venue surprisingly pleasant in the summer heat. We stood stage left on the raised platform. It was nice because you weren't in the huge mosh but had a great view! The beers are obviously expensive but it's a concert venue so you can expect that. They had sinks for the port-a-potty's as well and free water in coolers so a win on both accounts!
The legendary live music venue also serves up some tasty food. Highly recommend the Gospel Bruch
Great Texas barbecue and sides. Clean and fast service.
Excellent and delicious food and BBQ. Amazing portions. Very friendly staff and cozy little place.
Great concert venue, but won't even serve cups of water to designated drivers. They charge $3 for a bottle of cheap Nestle brand water.
Went out to the world famous stubbs during sxsw and i know its crazy with the amount of people from out of town & them working longer hours im sure but thats no excuse for how me and my guest were treated. from the initial walk into the door the greeter had an attitude, we probably should have left then but we were starving & wanted to try the texas bbq. After being seated we order our food it came out fast within 15-20mins. Now the quality of the food was decent i really was expecting a little better but one of my guest did not like her ribs at all & asked the waiter if there was an option to replace it with brisket. The waiter immediately got mad and demanded the food back without exchanging for the brisket. Well we told the manager and he apologized and reduced our bill but i would never be going there ever again when i go back to austin. Its corporate bbq, i will be stopping a real down home bbq spot next time im in austin.
Awesome venue, fantastic staff, delicious food. Catch a live show and you have it all. Highly recommended!
I personally love this venue. I don't love the merch booth though :(
