Beachwalk Cafe Review

My husband and I went to Beach Walk Cafe recently for our anniversary and it was WONDERFUL! The service was outstanding, our server Betty was very attentive and polite, she never let our glasses run dry. The food was AMAZING!! We shared the caprese salad to start, the grilled Maine lobster for our main, which was the best lobster I've ever had, and the creme brulle for dessert. The wine list was also great! It was an overall wonderful dining experience!! We will definitely be back next time we're in Destin!! Five stars!!

Fantastic experience! I brought my girlfriend there the eve of Sept 26. We were escorted to a great table on the spacious deck outside and received excellent service and dined on great food! I had the seared tuna and my girlfriend had the lobster tails. We toasted the sunset from the beautiful view off the tiki torch lined deck...almost storybook! Beautiful atmosphere! Made a reservation at 7pm for 2 people a week and a half before the date, called to confirm the reservation and the lady on the phone told me the reservation was confirmed. Well on date night, about 45 mins before the reservation, called and told them we were running a few minutes late, lady on the phone told me they didn t have a reservation. Way to ruin a date we set way before hand.

Unprofessional. Assumes people of certain ethnic groups can't afford to eat there and treat them accordingly.

This place is awesome!! The food and service are impeccable!! Total 5 stars!! The outside seating at evening is breathtaking!! I proposed to my girlfriend and the staff was unbelievable in helping me make it come true. Hats off to Brooke our waitress !!

This was my third time eating in the restaurant and honestly, this was the worst experience. Not because of the wait staff or the food; but because of the manager. I came in a Sunday evening and the manager for that night was kind and helpful, I think her name was Vicky. So I decided to return. I sat at the table closest to the door and this manager I believe he said his name was Michael. He is not a good representation of this Fine Dine Restaurant at ALL. I won t be coming back and my sister and her wife, who I gave a good recommendation about here came for there honeymoon two weeks ago share the same sentiments. I can t tell if he is straight up rude, sarcastic or condescending, but it s not good. He even speaks to his wait staff as though they are beneath him. My sister said after they expressed that they were a couple his facial expression was distasteful and he went to the back and they overheard him make a comment and the servers came out one by one and looked at them. If this is how I ll be treated after spending so much to fine dine. I will NOT have it. And I will be writing more about this. No way.
GREAT FOOD HOWEVER.

This restaurant was outstanding. Both the food and service were exceptional. Mike the manager is truly an asset and went out of his way to be accommodating to our family. The views were breathtaking.

I Love This Place. Hidden Gem. The View Was AMAZING. Service & Food Was Great. We Sat Outside, They Handed Me A Comfy Blanket To Keep Warm. Even Had Free Valet Parking. They Ended The Night With A Rose. So Romantic.

Wonderful dinning experience! We were seated immediately and the staff was great. All courses of the meal were great and my Venison was cooked perfectly. My wife even got a rose after the meal. Bonus points for me! Thanks for a great evening!

I have been there multiple times, and it used to be my favorite restaurant, but recently the food is not as good as it used to be. It is almost like it is microwaved at the last minute. Service and Location are still fantastic, but food is not worth the money any longer. Sorry

Went for Easter Brunch and was disappointed for the price paid. Buffet was in very tight quarters and not a large selection. Butter was in pre-pack pad . For $40 a person not acceptable. Dessert was miniature cup cakes. Food and service was good. Would not return next year.

My husband and I booked reservations here several weeks in advance as we were Traveling to Destin In a few days to celebrate our Anniversary at this particular restaurant. I randomly thought to call today as I always follow up on my reservations prior to arriving and got no answer via phone. I then went to their website and learned they are temporarily closed due to Covid19. I respect they are taking safety precautions however, someone at the restaurant should have had the courtesy to call all guest who had reservations to let us know they have been canceled.

We are now stuck with no where to go for our anniversary because most places are now booked due to it being last minute. A common courtesy call would have been nice. This was a special night for us that has been ruined due to lack of professionalism from management who could have simply given us a courtesy call in advance informing us of the closing and cancelled reservations. We literally are coming in town in a couple of days with no plans and no alternate options at this point.

Excellent restaurant located in an excellent inn! We recently celebrated our engagement here, and we couldn't have picked a better place! The dinner was delicious, the view was superb, and our wait staff was incredible.

The service and ambience were great. However the food was sub par for the price. I would pay half the price for the quality of the food. Coming from DC we are used to paying top dollar for meals so this isn't about money. The special grouper was tasteless. For a delicate fish the accompanied flavors seemed to neutralize the grouper completely. The ribeye cap was one of the most boring steaks we've had at a restaurant. I've had a 22oz bone in ribeye for half the price that knocked the socks off beach walk cafes ribeye cap. If this restaurant wants to charge these prices the food has to be better. Otherwise cut prices in half because that's the food your serving.

Such a fabulous Birthday dinner! Loved ever dish we ordered. The quintessential local spot that serves good food with a side of good customer service. We loved our server and how personal she was as well as her recommendations when it came to narrowing down the menu. We will definitely be making this a tradition for Birthdays/celebrations to come!

My husband and I had dinner here tonight. EVERYTHING was WONDERFUL! Our server, Melissa, was great! The fried eggplant with crab meat appetizer was excellent (my favorite thing of the night)! Save some bread to dip in the sauce... outstanding! My husband had the twin lobster tails and he loved them! I had the scallop appetizer for my entree with a side of truffle risotto, both were delicious (I had to box up the risotto because it was a very large portion). Then, we split the chocolate souffle and it was incredible! Really, everything was fantastic! We can't wait to go back. My new favorite restaurant in Destin! Call to get a reservation.

An edit: we finished the truffle risotto tonight and it was better than last night! So flavorful! Next time, I will just plan on ordering it to-go.

The pork chop was delicious! Clean bathrooms and great service.

Chef creates wonderful dinners and the cinnamon crunch cheesecake and key lime pie were to die for!

My wife and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary there the other night. We were on vacation from Michigan, and I did my research for best romantic restaurants in the panhandle Florida area. Beach Walk came up first with the highest rating. To keep it short, we couldn't have been more pleased! Our food was the best we have ever had! The service was so good as well. Setting, service, and food was exemplary. Thanks Beach Walk, for making out anniversary so special!

Great setting with the ocean as your backdrop. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately the kitchen ran out of three signature items that me and my husband were looking forward to trying our last night in Destin.
We ended up enjoying our lobster tails and tuna entrees and hope to come back and try other options whenever we visit again.

My husband and I went on a date here on Friday June 14th. We absolutely loved it! The food was fabulous and our waiter Sam took really good care of us and has a cute since of humor. We definitely will be going back again.

Had dinner with my wife. Inn town with family and her birthday. The staff was wonderful and the food to die for.

Steak was overcooked and the manager didn't replace it! $200 meal for 4 ? Wow

We had a great late dinner experience last night. We were greeted promptly at the front desk by the hostess and were seated at our reserved table minutes later overlooking the Gulf. Michael Macintosh and his associates provided excellent service including wine and food suggestions. The fresh catch of the day was expertly prepared. We will definitely be going back. This time a little earlier to see the sunset.

Never been treated that badly in my whole life

Decided to take my mother-in-law for a lovely brunch experience. Unfortunately, we had the audacity to bring our two-year-old with us. Only after we showed up, (we booked our table three weeks in advance) were we told, quite rudely, that little children are not welcomed at this snobby establishment. They were willing to sit us, but mentioned that if our son will have any incidents we would be asked to leave. Because other people pay a lot of money and we were not to disturb them. I guess its only fair, considering we wouldn t be paying for our three adult brunches???????? The final straw was when our table turned out to be in an uncovered area in the searing Florida sun. Never mind that we had a two-year-old with us, and placing a toddler in an unprotected environment like that is almost criminal. No-one else sat close in the sun, so I suppose we were not allowed to sit close to the precious pay a lot of money -guests. When we asked for another table in the shade, the host claimed he had none.

By then my mother-in-law (a Miramar Beach local) had had enough and declined their gracious offer. When he was escorting us out, I saw at least three vacant four-top tables in the shade. They bullied us into leaving.

Being from Germany and having dined all over Europe, I have to say I ve been to some fine dining establishments, but this is the ONLY one that has treated us, as paying customers, in such a disgusting and cruel manner. I don t know what kind of hideous person would put a little child in danger of getting a heat stroke. Disgusted.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Destin. Try the venison. The crab cakes are stellar. Great wine list. We come back year after year and always look forward to it.

Working in the area and stopped for directions and grabbed a quick bite. Great food and great spot. Thanks for dessert.

You have to search hard to find a place that maintains this level of snobbery. My mother, wife, young son, and I were greeted by the valet as we exited the car across the street from the hotel. He advised us that they offered valet service and that guests had received citations for parking on that particular piece of public road with no posted restrictions. We thanked him for the heads up but typically I only require valet service if I have not already parked my own car. Inside, I informed the 3 ladies behind the front desk that we were there for brunch and what name our reservation was under. However, they were unable to assist and told us to contact the host stand 10 feet across the room. I guess they leave the heavy lifting to the seasoned pros.

When the host appeared, he leaned in with a hushed tone and a wince to tell me that they were an "adults-only" establishment. "People pay a lot of money to come here," I was told. Does the extra condescension come with a reduced price menu I wondered? I was somewhat befuddled. Perhaps the opportune time to inform a guest of such a policy would be when I had made the reservation 3 weeks prior. I suppose my reservation "for four, well three and a half actually" could have been misconstrued.

But alas, "I am willing to seat you, provided the little one doesn't have an incident," our kind-hearted host announced. Our son hadn't soiled the rug for years so surely we'd be fine. We were led out the back door onto the deck to the only table in direct sunlight. Given the 90-degree heat, my mother inquired about sitting in the shade as she motioned at the 4 empty tables under the awning. Again with a wince, "I'm sorry, this is all we have."

We decided to forego the heatstroke. It's a shame that two mothers with their sons couldn't enjoy a Mother's Day brunch at Destin s ONLY fine dining located directly on the emerald waters of the Gulf Coast.

Amazing food, beautiful scenery. We are here for our anniversary and it was a great experience.

Me and my fiance came here thinking it was going to be some spectacular place. We both ordered filet mignon that came with lobster mac and cheese and asparagus. She ordered her steak medium well it came out looking as charred and well done as my steak seen below. She said something because you couldn't even eat it it was so crunchy you could break a tooth! It came back the second time still well done and not as much charred but bad enough that it had grisel around it. I've had a WAY better steak for less 3 times less at outback or any other restaurant by far the worst steak I've ever had in a restaurant. Secondly the lobster mac and cheese was basically just mac and cheese dont expect a lobster tail underneath or anything fancy I maybe seen a few tiny tiny pieces that looked like bacon bits of lobster meat. Nothing great that's for sure. Next the asparagus was overcooked and oily and half of my finances asparagus was the bad ends you throw away..... the view was nothing great you had to duck under the banister on the deck and look through the cable to see the ocean which had alot of people still on it at 645 in the evening let alone the kids that run and make noise on the walkway to the beach which is less than 50 feet away. MIND YOU THE FILET ALONE IS 48$ THIS WAS NOTHING FANCY.... save your money and go to chic fila and if your really in the mood for a good steak. Try Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

This may be my new favorite restaurant! Everything my wife and I ordered was amazing. The staff and manager were very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back.

One of the finest high-end restaurants my wife and I have ever experienced.

A delightful experience for food lovers. A beautiful facility with a great view of the beach and Gulf of Mexico. Residents in the area are very lucky to have such a great restaurant. Everything was perfect except at the end of a great dinner we had an uncomfortably long wait for our check. Servers are very friendly. Highly recommended for those willing and able to spend a substantial amount for a great dinning experience. Our dinner for two wIth a good bottle of wine was over $200. Valet parking only, but just a short five-minute stroll from the new and luxurious Henderson Beach Resort and Spa.

The service was fantastic!!! The food was amazing. And for dessert, bread pudding made with Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!!

This is as good as it gets for fine dining along Miramar Beach. The service is impeccable, and the food is prepared to perfection. This visit, we started with the cheese display, then moved on to to a spinach salad. Our main entree was a sesame crusted tuna complimented by a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We finished with dessert and a cup of French pressed coffee, then left feeling happy and once again convinced we'd come back next year!
My wife and I dine here at least twice every year, and the experience is always outstanding.

Great food and the service was excellent. We will return and even consider staying at the inn.

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary here on Saturday 23rd November 2019. We have celebrated every year for the past 4 years at this restaurant. And also dine here when we have family from overseas visiting as it has always been our favorite place. We could never fault the excellent food, service, views and hospitality it offers. No other restaurant has ever come close. It is a little over priced but it was worth it.
I have always recommended to family and friends for special occasion dining.
Unfortunately i m sad to say Saturday was an exception to the rule. The food was average and the presentation was far below their normal standards. Our waitress was very pleasant but the staff seem to be less professional and casual. I feel the prices have jumped considerably too.
I had the special, red fish and scallops. I informed the waitress that their was grit when I ate one of the scallops. She mentioned she would inform the chef. But the issue was not addressed.
Unfortunately it was so disappointing as this was meant to be a very special dining experience for us both it being our 35 th wedding anniversary and our go to happy place and will not be returning or recommending.

Food is not good. The views are amazing, but it is not worth the price. Fish is unseasoned and very dry. You are better off doing a picnic on the beaches

Excellent!!! Would give more than 5 stars if I could, it is perfection.

We had the VIP "Toes on the beach" service last Friday. We were told that we would have a dedicated waiter for our table and that is indeed what the Beach Walk Cafe website says. Unfortunately we did not and service was lackluster. We had two appetizers but we left before ordering entrees and taking the remainder of our wine with us. The concept of a $300 set up fee for a table on the beach $100 minimum per person with a dedicated waiter is nice however the execution was just not there. If you pay this much money you shouldn't have to look for your waiter only to find them with another table.

Best restaurant in Destin, very romantic with a beautiful beach view. Small, quite and the food was amazing. Better make reservations in advance. The best part was the staff, very friendly and accommodating. Also has valet parking complimentary.

Just excellent. Limited menu but something for everyone. Pricey but worth it. Our server, Candice, was just the best. Every one of her recommendations was spot on. The Banana Creme Pie, and the Key Lime pie were so very good. Plan on returning and also sending friends there.

Me and my husband had dinner at Beach walk cafe celebrating our 3 year anniversary, it was very romantic and our waitress Candice was super friendly and sweet, she recommended us a wine which was amazing and the food was delicious. The view was just beautiful. Valet guys where nice too, I definitely give it 5 stars!

Had an amazing experience this evening at the Beach Walk Cafe. Everything was top notch, my fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food, staff, and ambiance was 5 star. Dustin was our server and we couldn't have been more happy, his personality fits the place to a T. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a special beach dinner.

We did the Toes in the Sand dinner, and I felt like royalty from the time we arrived to the minute we left! We actually showed up 30 minutes early than our scheduled reservation (we were planning for heavy traffic and didn t have any) and nobody on the staff even skipped a beat! We were seated right away and had our every need catered to! Brandon even did a mini photo shoot with my iPhone for us! We watched the sunset, and even walked along the beach in between courses! The Key Lime Pie was awesome! If you are looking to do something really special, you will not regret splurging on this experience!

I had bought a groupon and drove from crestview. It is well worth the drive. Food and service was excellent. Ask for Jim for a waiter. Ignore the negative comments. Theres always someone bitching about something. I would definitely return.

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant a year ago. As before, the view, the service, and the atmosphere were wonderful. Unfortunately, the food was not. The lump crab meat in the appetizer had bits of shell in it. The snapper was overcooked, and the shrimp so overcooked that it was tough. We wonder if they've lost their chef. At the prices they charge, they need to do better.

My friends and I ate here over the weekend and had a great meal overlooking the ocean and under the light of the moon! Our waitress was wonderful and the manager,Michael,was top notch...not only did he provide history and knowledge of the area but he was able to give us great recommendations on food and drink! we can't wait to come back!

This place is absolutely great! My girlfriend and I had dinner here on 6 Sept 2014 and before this day had never heard of the place. Our server was Elizabeth and she was very nice and did a great job. The manager that night was also extremely polite. The food was phenominal and since it was my girlfriend's birthday her dessert was on the house. They also gave her a fresh pink rose after we were finished eating. It is pricey but well worth it and the gulf view is very romantic.

We had the chicken, it was fantastic. Cheese tray, asparagus and spinche salad. All very delicious. Little expensive but worth it. Waitress was very sweet and attentive. Very helpful with ordering. The view and beach were excellent, definetly will go back!

Absolutely the best meal we had in a while. My wife and I both had fabulous crab cakes, thai fried shrimp for appetizers & Mahi Mahi for our entree (which was the special) generous portion. Incredible banana cream pie & chocolate souffle for dessert. FYI we just came for dinner but this place is a bed and breakfast and we are coming back. Oh and no kids allowed.

Location excellent, on the beach with views of water. Our food was mediocre & very pricey for what it was. Cesar salad was tasteless. The grouper dish was good and was served with a sweet sauce on the plate, earning the 3 stars. It was a signature dish. All items are priced separately. "Fine dining" category but there are plenty of restaurants in the area with better prepared seafood. Only street parking, not allowed to park in their hotel lot even though you are eating in the restaurant.
Would not dine there again.

We came to the Beach Walk Cafe to celebrate our friends 40th anniversary.
The staff was very friendly. Our waitress Luanne was incredible. She was very helpful in helping us make our dinner choices. Luanne was very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the scallops and the Thai Shrimp appetizers, delicious. We all had a salad, the ceaser and the wedge, both were fresh and delicious.
Then we had the Grouper, the Shrimp with Grits and the Chicken Marsala. It was all served fresh hot and delicious. Our 6 o'clock reservation lasted until 8 o'clock when we were finished.
I forgot to mention the view, breathtaking!
I would highly recommend the Beach Walk Cafe.

I am not one to complain much when it comes to dining but I was very disappointed with the experience I had here. Me and my girlfriend would be in Destin the first week of June so I made reservations for a table outside on the deck a couple months in advance. I wanted to take her on a quiet/romantic date but this was far from that!!! We did get our table outside as planned but what we didn't get was quiet or anything close to a romantic evening. There was a banquet of some sort with a buffet set up right below us with atleast 50-75 people eating and drinking being very loud and some very loud and obnoxious. You would think an establishment advertising a quiet romantic experience would not allow this to happen but guess I am wrong. Atleast give your guest that have reservations a call and give them the option to change times or date when you decide to schedule some loud ass banquet!!! I gave one star cause the food was ok but nothing special for the money your going to spend. I would highly recommend going to Boshamps,Harbor Dock or Dewey Destin's for better food and atmosphere.

The Caesar salad was ok but nothing special. The snapper special on the other hand was amazing. I loved the crab meat and white wine sauce. One of the better fish dishes I have had. The service was average for Destin.The views are amazing and I highly recommend getting an outside table if available.

This is a super romantic restaurant with amazing views. Our food was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Service was spot on. Make sure to book a reservation in advance because they fill up.

My wife and I celebrated 13 years together with the VIP toes in the sand dinner. I cannot say enough great things about the service, food, and evening! Brandon was AMAZING and attentive, funny but not overbearing. The food was delicious and all seemed to be well orchestrated. Wine pairing was fantastic. Atmosphere is....well, its sunset on the beach! An absolutely perfect evening and meal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

By far, this was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had. The only reason I didn t flat walk out was because of my wife. But, I ll get to that in a second. Let me explain my 1 star review

(Reservations was at 7:30pm)

7:20: Arrived! Had the NICEST Valet attendant ever. This guy was super friendly, very chill and immediately set me at ease. I think I gave the guy a $10 but I wish I had given him a $20.

7:25. Walked in and was immediately seated! Again, this was experience was starting out phenomenal. As we were sat, it s impossible to not be welcomed by a beautiful view on the patio. (We asked to be seated outside.)

7:40: The waitress showed up 15 minutes later and took our drink order. Even if it was only 15 minutes, I was okay with this. My mood was still good.

7:55: Another 15 minutes pass and the waitress shows up with our drinks. At this point, my wood was starting to dwindle. But! My wife, still being in her good mood and wanting to avoid any negatives vibes said it was fine. Afraid we wouldn t see her for another 15 minutes, we gave her our food order.

8:15: The waitress shows back up and gives his bread? This was crazy to me that we d be here 45-50 minutes and now she was giving us bread? I didn t even know they served bread! I mean, I saw the cute olive oil container sitting in the center of our table, but still, this redicoulsy. While there, I asked if she could refill out drinks because we hadn t see her since 20 minutes.

8:30: Drinks are refilled! And the waitress assured us our food was on the way. She explained that the chicken is baked to order so that was what was talking so long. I guess hour wait times were normal here. At this point, I was ready to walk out. But! Again, my wife told me it was fiiiiiiiine, that we dressed up, (and my two daughters 13 & 16) and she d read that the food was exceptional so the wait was worth it. Though, since it was
8:30 and I was starving, at this point, I should have asked for another slice of bread.

8:50: Food shows up! And check this out! So, another waitress shows up and only brings my daughters their food. But! She holds both plates in her hands because she cannot serve the plates until our waitress shows up and she apparently went a different way. All of us look at each other awkwardly.

8:55: Our waitress shows up with our food and my daughters get their plates as do we. And the food is? Just okay. To say I was super disappointed was an understatement. The risotto was so el dente to the point were I feel it was like undercooked rice. The steak was eh. My daughter didn t like her chicken and I had to switch plates with her. The lobster mac was okay, I guess. Not something I d write home about.

9:15: Yeah, waiting on our check. At this point, I ignore my wife, go to the front desk and ask if I can just pay them because I m ready to leave. They inform me they were find my waitress and send her to our table with our check.

9:20: Waitress shows up! Only, instead of handing an annoyed family our check, she instead cleans up our table. I almost snapped at her, but somehow found my inner strength, to give us our damn check. She did so, only I didn t let her leave. Who knows when I would have seen her again. I gave her our card telling her to cash us out.

9:30: Finally, we were able to leave this place.

Super amazing food and service! Sunset dinner on the patio is a must! Make reservations early, they are busy. The lobster tomato soup is a show stopper. I don't even like tomato soup! We had nothing that wasn't better then we expected.
