We ended up here last minute and I m so glad we did. On Sunday there are two seatings - 10:30 and 12:30, and we arrived at 12 and we re pretty close to the front of the line. There was a gospel brunch downstairs which you could pay extra for to see the stage, but we opted for upstairs seating which didn t require a reservation. The food was buffet style and absolutely delicious.
They're doing well and working efficiently with the new testing entry setup and Covid protocols.
A wonderful Austin institution serving some of the city's best barbecue... I'd say ignore the hype but there are some other great bbq places in ATX but none of them have the history that Stubb's does not to mention any band worth mentioning has played a gig or 20 here at their outdoor amphitheatre that borders on Waller Creek hence the name 'Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheatre'... I recently mentioned it but last month I saw freakin' WEEN play an absolutely epic show out there!!!! And if that's not enough to put the place on the map WEEN themselves even released a live album recorded at this location and in my opinion it's one of the best live albums ever put on a sick of any sort plastic or vinyl and in this case BOTH!!! Check out Stubb's, and then do yourself another major favor and purchase the WEEN album LIVE AT STUBB'S... I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ON EITHER COUNT AND I BET YOU EVEN COME BACK TO THIS REVIEW JUST TO THANK ME!!! That being the case, let me just go ahead and say "you are so very welcome! "WEEN FOR PREZ/VP AND STUBB'S FOR BBQ OF THE YEAR".. Of course if you like to wait for 6 hours standing out in the weather for decent bbq that you can brag about having wasted an entire day procuring come Monday morning at the water cooler then by all means take your trendy ass over to Franklin BBQ... (Keep in mind I have nothing against their food, but if I'm going to wait that long for BBQ it's going to be because myself and my friends spent those hours drinking beer around a pit of my own.. just my own personal $0.02... You are welcome to your opinion and I encourage that, although I'd be very tempted to hire a homeless or less fortunate person to do the line standing for me, I like to believe that my time is worth much more than that. Great BBQ, lots of history, concerts and music out back, When you go to Austin you have to eat at Stubbs.
