Had car serviced for a recall and to repair window...

Had car serviced for a recall and to repair window switch, called us to say it was ready, drove car half a block and the engine light came on. Had to wait on additional repair of the throttel body which should've been noticed when driving the car around for my pick up. Check engine light was on and the car wouldn't accelerate.

My wife and I drove from Cedar Rapids to check out a Santa Fe that Stew Hansen Hyundai had in stock. I called and talked to Matt Conrad to set up a time to check out the vehicle. When we arrived that Saturday morning the Santa Fe was sitting there waiting for us to test drive. After driving the vehicle, and satisfied with its features and the ride quality, we sat down with Matt to make a deal. Matt never pressured us in any way, was courteous and very professional. One of the best car buying experiences my wife and I have ever had. I highly recommend Matt and Stew Hansen Hyundai for your next car purchase!

I had an unfortunate situation yesterday where I was no longer able to drive the car I had, the team at Stew Hansen Hyundai were great at providing me with top notch customer care..I didn't feel like a customer more like a family member! Today I worked with the fantastic gentlemen of Stew Hansen Hyundai used car dealership and once again was treated extremely well, they genuinely cared about my needs as a customer and made sure to help me into a newer car! I'm so thankful for the honest, caring people at Stew Hansen Hyundai!

I had a great experience, I noticed alot of people piping in about this register write up. I understand that things can happen, and people can rush to Judgement.. However I had an amazing experience the whole staff was great Dennis was my salesman as well as my dad's who just bought a car from him last week .... Things happen, sure they could have handled it better however whats done is done. and noone was hurt. I would recommend purchasing a car there great deals quality cars and Like I said I have had great service.. I think there are alot of people that thrive on negativity....

If I could give the service department zero stars ...

If I could give the service department zero stars - I would. I have a 2012 Hyundai Azera with 20,000 miles on it. The air conditioner stopped working last week (9/3/13). I brought it into their service department, and after an hour wait, they came out and told me that they needed to order a part, and they could fix it on Tuesday (9/10/13). Of course it was nearly 100 degrees every day while this was happening. They said they would call me on the morning of 9/10/13 and let me know that the part had come in. First reason for zero stars - I called them at 10 am. "Is my part in?" They respond, "Yes, bring your car in." I called them, to find out my part had come in. I doubt they would have called me, like they said they would.

I brought the car in, and left it there. 2 hours later, I get a phone call. "We have your car taken apart, and its actually not the part that we ordered behind the reason the air doesn't work. Its the air compressor." We have to order more parts, can you bring it back in on 9/12/13? I asked for a loaner car. They didn't provide that kind of service to someone that bought a $40,000 car from them.

I have dealt with the same service guy both times, and I'm sure its not him under my hood, but whoever is getting under the hood has no idea what they are doing. I'm going to get rid of my car the next chance I get, purely for the reason of terrible service after the sale.

Zero Stars is my vote for Stew Hansen Hyundai.

I had a terrible experience here. Took my car for service here and they screwed it up totally. Charged me 250$ for nothing. Absolute zero technical knowledge for the service technician. I had to take it back again..just to ask them to put it back the same it was before service. Never go to this service center. Keep away and be happy.

We had an excellent experience at Stew Hansen's. Matt was the first one to greet us and he did so with a friendly face. He proved to be very knowledgeable about the vehicles we looked at. He was patient with us. He had a laid back style that put us both at ease and even had a few laughs with us, (or maybe at us ha ha). Our experience never felt pushy or rushed. They even fed us :). The whole place seemed to have a welcoming atmosphere. The whole team worked together to get us, we believe, a great and fair deal. We would definitely recommend Stew Hansen Hyundai! Thank you again for a great experience!

My wife and I live about 2 1/2 hours away. We did much of our car shopping inquiries via online and over the phone prior to coming to the dealership. I feel our needs were met prior to our visit and were confirmed when seeing the vehicle for the first time in person and asking questions about the vehicle during the test drive. I also appreciate that due to weather we could not make it down to Des Moines when we had previously scheduled our visit. The dealership was very understanding due to the winter ice storm as to why we could not make it and were happy to reschedule at a different time. It was very appreciated that I was told right up front that the dealership usually does not hold vehicles but was willing to make an exception knowing that we did not live close to the dealership. All of the about reasons plus having the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport we were looking for with a few additional options and a lower prices is what led us to Des Moines.

Horrible. Had to have my Car serviced 5 times for the same issue and the last time they 'fixed' it they broke a different part of my car. The best park-- they delivered my car back to me with 4 lights on my dashboard and my steering wheel controls not working. Did no one check their work? Also my Windshield was covered in grossness. Not sure what it is, but when we clean it the towels we are using turn black. I do not recommend purchasing a Hyundai or having service at this location.

I went into stew hansen got a pre owned vehicle that had problems within the 1st 2 days of getting the car, then they tell me they want $135 just to diagnose the car & they want more down payment after they even told me if i didnt have one it was fine minding i already signed the contract and all and telling me they NEED the car back. Will never come back and dont recommend coming here at all.

A very pleasant and hassle-free car buying experience, but once the vehicle was sold, things took a turn for the worst.

At 22k miles the steering column failed and was not covered by warranty; the implication from the dealership being that I somehow wrecked the column myself. Unable to contest, I shelled out $1800 for a replacement, and when I got the vehicle back, a entirely new set of issues were introduced. Now the vehicle won't shift properly, has difficulty starting (requires multiple attempts to start) and the braking and steering become loose and unruly during extended driving.

I loved my Kona up until recently. Once it started having problems however, the warranty proved itself to be useless, and additional issues were introduced during the repair process. Vehicle was in the shop for a couple of weeks already, now it's going to need to go back and I'm hesitant as I don't want to be blamed for these *new* issues as well (and subsequently charged additional replacement costs). The vehicle has not been abused, but warranty service is at the dealers discretion and if they think your problem is too 'unorthodox' or 'just shouldn't happen', (regardless of the actual circumstances) then expect to pay.

The dealership and its staff have been generally very nice and helpful, but the warranty I bought has proven worthless already and I'm very concerned this vehicle won't make it far without becoming a money pit.

I'd recommend against the Hyundai Kona at this time.

They did everything they could to get me into a new Hyundai when i needed a car so i thought they would do the same thing for a used Camaro i really wanted but i was wrong they got me approved with money down i told them i didn't have the money to put down on it i would have to pass on the car then they kept on me saying they would keep working on getting me into the car this back and forth of them saying they were going to get me in the car and me telling them i didnt have money for down payment and them telling me they would keep working on it went on for a week before they finally just sent me a letter denying me credit i wouldnt have minded so much if it wasnt a car that would have been more then just any other car to me and they would have just let it go after the first time I told them i didnt have the down payment but to drag it out for a week saying they would keep working on it just to deny me credit was a little unprofessional not to mention a very big disappointment

My husband and I were in the market for a new car ...

My husband and I were in the market for a new car and did our research online to narrow down to a couple different cars. One of the cars was a Hyundai's Sonata/Hybrid. We stopped in late afternoon on a Friday to take one for a drive and see if we liked it. Danielle Storm was our sales representative and was super helpful and not pushy. Unfortunately for her the manager, Andrew was very aggressive, rude and pushy. We had our own financing and he questioned where it was and who we were working with. He kept quizzing us on it which almost caused me to walk out as I was interesting in buying a car not being interrogated about our financing. We did not buy the car that day to their dismay but went home and did more research and found a cheaper price for the same car a couple hours a way. We called first thing the next morning and they saw the price online and agreed to match. When we got there they questioned how someone could offer that price and said in order for us to buy the car for that price we had to give them 3 names of people who were in the market to buy a car and sign up as an uber drive so they could receive a discount. Again Danielle was super friendly but the manager, Andrew was not. They told us they signed people who were 75 years old up and had no problems. That is very concerning to me as I am sure the they did not know what uber was or what they were signing up for. I sure wouldn't want someone to do that to my Grandparents. They insisted we had to sign up as an uber driver to sell us the car at the price even though they made no mention of it over the phone. Not feeling like they were upfront and honest with us and not liking the way we were being treated by the manager we decided to take our business elsewhere. We called the dealership that had the car for the price we wanted and the sent us a purchase agreement that day for the exact price they quoted on the phone! When we got there to sign the agreement and pick up the car there was no funny business. They were very direct and respectful.

This is the best car buying experience my wife and I have ever had. We purchased two vehicles; a new Hyundai for my wife and a new Silverado 2500 Truck for me. We both were pretty sure in what we each wanted. They immediately found a vehicle my wife fell in love with. My truck took a little longer. Alan Bahic and Brian Oselette did a great job in not only giving me choices within my price range but ensuring that the truck met all my needs...and a few extras! Buying two vehicles at once was a big decision but Tommy Huynh made us feel great by giving us a great price on both vehicles and our trade-in vehicle. They also offered a great service plan at an affordable price. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. This is the dealership our family will be using from now on.

My car buying experience with Stew Hansen Hyundai was flawless. I live in the KC, MO area but found the exact vehicle I wanted at Stew Hansen Hyundai. Our salesperson, Kris Kremin, was both professional and personable. He made sure he had the exact vehicle in stock and furnished photo's of it and the window sticker to insure my confidence. After agreeing on the purchase price we made arrangements to drive to Des Moines on a Saturday morning to pick-up the vehicle and the staff had the vehicle ready, washed and gassed up. The credit manager, Phil, was ready for our arrival and, after a test drive, had all the paperwork ready for us to sign. Kris then spent as much time as we needed walking us through and demonstrating all of the technological features of the vehicle so that when we hit the road to return to KC we were completely comfortable with the vehicle as we are now completely comfortable with Stew Hansen Hyundai. I would recommend Kris Kremin and Stew Hansen to anyone wanting to purchase a Hyundai.

Great experience! Looked all over des Moines for a used car but extremely picky. Trying to find a vehicle with more seating than my 2 seat manuals. While being set on a used car because it would be too expensive for a new car (I was wrong). Got sat in a brand new Hyundai veloster r-spec which was actually within my price range. Had my extra seats, great price, and brand new in double digit miles with plenty of warranties. Very willing people to help me buy my first brand new car and finance through Hyundai.

I only gave them 4 stars because it's so hard to get a vehicle in at the last minute for an oil change. They need a Quick Lane station for those who can't plan 3 weeks out to get an appointment. I don't mind waiting in line, what I do mind is having to take a day off just to get my oil changed!

Salesman told me the credit check was a "soft hit." I knew better, but allowed it anyway. When I got the notification of the credit check through my monitoring agency, before I singed the paper authorizing it, I should have stopped and used that as leverage.

Standard pushy salesman tactics, won't stop calling even when told, "I have your number, I'll be in touch to let you know yea/nay when we decide."

Wants to try to sell us a new car with ex the payment I'd been looking for. Told him I'd consider a new car, but would probabmy want a used one to be in my monthly payment range.

I told them how much money I could put together at signing and my budget for monthly payments going forward and they found a way to make it work. I leased a new Elantra at a very competitive price. I recently traded in my hyundai elantra for a used chevy cruze at the stew hansen hyundai dealership. My experience at this dealership has always been great, i would regularly bring in my elantra for routine maintenance and they have always been prompt and nice when i had brought the car in. I had been receiving emails from the dealership about wanting to purchase my elantra. I hadn't given it much thought and decided maybe it wouldn't hurt to go and talk numbers. I met with Randy Crabb one of the sales consultants and he did a great job of showing me some different options and working with me on what i wanted and where i wanted to be at price wise. The car i wanted to look at was not on the lot so he showed me some other options to see if anything interested me. I came in looking for a used chevy sonic they had on the lot which was out as a loaner so Randy showed me the cruze which I really liked. He did a great job of making me feel comfortable about my purchase and the reasoning behind why i wanted to trade in. I had only bought my elantra the previous year so still had the majority of the loan left to pay off. Tommy did a great job of helping me get the right price for the cruze while also offering me a great deal on my elantra and working it out so that the remainder of my loan was paid off. Bryan was also helpful after he had me sign all the paper work he hooked up my phone to the blue tooth capabilities in my new cruze. My experience, even though lengthy was enjoyable i never felt pressured and I always felt they had my best interest at heart while going through this process. I highly recommend Stew Hansen Hyundai and Randy Crabb for the wonderful job they did and how much they helped me through this process!

They told me was pre aproved was there at 10 am at...

They told me was pre aproved was there at 10 am at 3pm they said they can help then ask can you send check stubs so I did and the still can't help I mean you do a credit app and they still can say sorry can't help but no they say oh everything looks good when can you come in sooo dissatisfied.

SO I GOT THIS LETTER IN THE MAIL SAYING WHY I WAS DENIED CREDIT AND I QUOTE CUSTOMER LIVES OR WORKS OUTSIDE OUR NORMAL LENDING TRADE AREA SO ISN'T THE DISCRIMINATION

This place was amazing! My family is growing and we have started doing foster care for some sweet little girls and we desperately needed a bigger vehicle. My husband and I are young and don t have great credit and all we had was a car to trade. I spoke to a sales person named Jacob Padgett he called me because of my search on the website. I explained to him right away that I don t have good credit, I don t want my credit ran many times, I don t have a down payment and I can t afford a payment over $300 he was just ridiculously understanding! He listened to me and he told me about all of their vendors and that he will not push my credit through unless we can agree with a payment that fits my family comfortably. He assured me that Stew Hansen is on my side and he will do everything that he needs for my family. We set up an appointment and when we got there even 15 minutes early , Jacob was literally outside to greet us! So during the time we were there Jacob showed great hospitality and offered us drinks. He got in and found us vehicles that fit our family and we picked one. They started the process in trying to get our payments to match our budget and it was a very long process and it was really stressful but Jacob was still checking in on us and getting us drinks and cupcakes I had my toddler my 5 month old and one of my big kids with me so it was stressful for about 3 hours. We then got bad news that our payments were way out of our budget and so we said thanks but no thanks and was packing up to leave when I noticed Jacob quickly and eagerly scrolling on a website and he came across a van and had his finance guy look at it and stopped us from going and my goodness! I swear it was a blessing that Jacob was our sales person because he found us a great vehicle that fit our family and was perfectly in our price range and was in great shape!! I m over joyed that Jacob worked so hard for my family and got us what we needed! The Stew Hansen Team should be blessed to have someone like him! He doesn t give up! He listens and he cares! Jacob even went out of his way to do a follow up call and that had NEVER happened before! I m soo happy and highly recommend Stew Hansen Hyundai and Jacob Padgett! Thanks so much! God Bless!

Jason Hansen was a great salesman and comfortable to work with. He found me the car I wanted when we didn t find it on the lot. I am very happy with the new car and I appreciate Jason s attention to all the details in the process.

The only part I didn t care for was the sale pitch on the extended auto coverage through Tim. A customer should be able to say upfront that they are not interested instead of forcing him or her to listen to the sales pitch.
