Manny and Steve were great! They made the buying experience smooth and fast. They were easy to work with and I was satisfied through the entire process. I would return to Stew Hansen Hyundai in the future if I was in the market for another Hyundai.

Well I went to go get a used car and my salesperson was Jason Hansen he did an amazing job was very patient got every car I asked for we looked around quite a bit which was a few cars and then I started to look at a new one which I honestly didn't think I would be able to get in everyone was very patient with me that was amazing Jason just did an outstanding job I never felt pressured in any way . Jason know I really wanted a new car and he made the deal happen and I'm very thankful for you Jason .I had a great experience and that's where I bought my last car that's why I went back this time like I said I didn't expect to get a brand new car but I am in love with it I really appreciate the patience and quality of the knowledge of the vehicle that Jason has . overall I just had a great time picking out a new car and I would definitely highly recommend that all my friends today go there thank you very much!!

My wife and I just worked with Nate on purchasing a used vehicle from this dealer. We live out of state and was able to get a lot of the details in order before we made the trip out. His communication was awesome and when we test drove it with him he was very knowledgeable and able to find answers to the questions we had. We never felt pressured or rushed to make the purchase. Excellent customer service.

Luis in financing was great to work with as well. He was very flexible and able to work with some special circumstances we had.

Overall we had a great experience and it was totally worth it to travel to this dealership

Brian Flugge was my salesperson. He was an awesome guy to work with. However, I had firmly stated that I was not interested in exceeding a certain monthly payment amount. He then called me to tell me that they were able to get it all worked out in the monthly payment range I had requested; however, after sitting there for one hour waiting on finance to go over and sign the sales docs the monthly payment was $60 more per month than what I had said was my max payment amount, which was $86 more per month than I paid for the vehicle that I was trading. So that part of the sale/service was a bit underhanded and sneaky.

My salesman, Dennis Halupnick, was awesome. He spent a great deal of time with my husband and I explaining and showing us all the features of my new 2017 Tuscan. He went over the warranty and manual with us also. We were very happy with the service he gave us, and will recommend him to any one interested in buying a new Hyundai.

After spending all day Fri at SH I worked out a deal on a black Hyundai Elantra with black leather interior. I had to go get kids and discuss it more with my wife. I told the sales man we'd likely be back the next day, Sat. I went home with a proposed deal and information about the car. I called my Credit Union late Fri and got pre approval on way better financing. So Sat morning... The weekend of Christmas btw... I called the sales man back and said we'd take it but it had to wait til Tues... the day after Christmas... because my credit Union couldn't complete the loan paper til then as they were closed. But I had their verbal pre approval. Tues came... I took the information to my Credit Union, and financed the car. Which as part of the deal also paid off our old car loan. I also insured the car. With the loan completed we went to the dealership. We completed all of the paperwork there, turned over the check and the keys to our trade in. The first sign something was wrong was when trying to set up the blue link service. The guy assisting us had a different Vin# than the one we were given. He checked... And said they had given us a different car, but it was exactly the same with all the same options. My response was that this was the one I'd already financed and insured. While this was annoying... I figured it was still ok. I called the Credit Union and insurance companies and informed them we had the wrong Vin#. Not a huge deal at this point, but it meant redoing the papers at the Credit Union the next day. We spent all afternoon at the dealership again that day... Just waiting around for something to happen. First waiting on the finance guy... Who had no one in his office. Then waiting on someone to show us how to use the car. They said ours was being detailed... Cause it wasn't ready... So they'd show us on a different one. Waiting to set up the blue link. Finally... After it was good and dark out... They took us out to take possession of the new car. Had our plates on it... Ready to drive away. This was NOT the car I'd looked at... This car had grey interior. I said hold on the car we looked at had dark interior. I was told this was the dark interior... Pft..Ugh..No.. That is NOT what I looked at. So we went back in. They tried to pressure me into taking a car I didn't want. I told them if they had one or could get one with black interior we could still work it out. Well that wasn't happening. All they really offered was 300 off on the rustproofing package I'd already intended on getting. So ultamately we took back our check and our plates and went home in our old car. We had to rescind the deal at the cu. Stew Hansen had already sold the car on that previous Sat. Nobody bothered to tell me. They let me finance the wrong car and tried to shove their choice of car down my throat after it was dark out. I see no other reason why we waited around all day... Other than they hoped we'd take possession after dark and drive it home. Then we'd be stuck. Someone at that dealership had to have known the car I was coming to get on Tues was gone. Someone made the decision to just give us something else rather than make a phone call and say "Hey that car sold... But we have another similar one." I bough the same Hyundai Elantra from a dealer up in Souix Falls SD about a week later. I actually got a blue one with black interior which is my ideal first choice over the black one. But now I can't trust Stew Hansen's even for service work. Obviously they don't have any ethics there. So I purchased an extended warranty thru the Credit Union that isn't tied to a Hyundai dealer. It's a shame that we are beholden to such a shady dealership as the only Hyundai dealer for miles around. Hyundai's are good cars. And I'm sure SH knows they have people over a barrel. Too bad we don't have a better more reputable local dealer. If Stew Hansen's really chose to "Hear you" as they claim, they might take note of all the negative reviews listed here and change some behaviors. They hear you, they just choose not to listen... Less than 1 star.

Absolutely the worse place I have ever gone to get a vehicle. They sold us a vehicle without telling us it was in an accident and it has had a lot of problems since we bought it. They also don t provide any rentals when your vehicle has to stay overnight for repairs they failed to fix the first time we took it in.

Just bought a $50,000 car from these guys. Experience was generally ok. When I first got a price quote they automatically included some kind of GPS tracking thing for an extra thousand bucks that they removed when I asked but keep an eye out for that kind of stuff at any dealer you go to. They did not try to hide any other fees but they did discount the agreed upon purchase price the amount of the prepaid oil changes because I guess they really want to sell that package. Whatever.

They were very accommodating when it came to test drives, even giving me the car over the weekend even though I had not purchased it yet then they refilled the gas tank and detailed it.

I've only owned the car for a day but at this point I would not have any reservations buying another from them again.

I hate having to buy a new vehicle. It's very stressful for me. It's a very personal experience.
Nate, Alan, and Luis, made this very easy. They understood my financial concerns and didn't try to oversell.
I was a little distracted by the extended expense for warranty coverage. I didn't anticipate it. I am thankful however that Luis took the time to explain this to me and kept him tied up for an hour asking questions.
This goes along way with me.

They were real people with obvious concern for their customers. I left feeling I had new friends.

Highly recommend!

Thank you Stew Hansen Team!!

Professional, courteous and thorough.
Highest praise of all...they didn t push us. They were firm in their offer and in their efforts to do business, but I ve experienced very bad tactics with other dealers and this was very different. Initial contact with Diego Aquino is what led is to go to dealership, and we were able to get a fair deal and get the car we wanted. All in all, good experience and worthy of a recommendation.

I took my sister with me too purchase a vehicle just to have an extra set of eyes and ears, questions I might not think of etc.... my salesman Izzo was very knowledgable, helpful and I also felt like he went the extra mile to earn my business. I purchased a vehicle with far less than perfect credit and while I wasn't jazzed about my final interest rate I can't blame the dealership that my credit is poor. They quoted me Pymts and interest rates and then the finance Mgr did even better than the original quote on the final deal.
My sister was so impressed with the integrity and honesty of the dealership and the price/quality vs cost , she returned the following week and bought the exact same car- different color. Now 4 months later my sons car went belly up and I have raved about my car so much and the great mileage I get - plus how this dealership is willing to work with you - that we went up today and now my son is the proud owner of the exact same model car. I originally did not have a personal post - just gave 5 stars because while I was overall quite happy with my own experience, I just usually don't write reviews.
Now 4 months later after visiting with my sister about her car purchase experience, as well as accompanying my son for his new car purchase- I just feel that I have to give some honest and probably overdue Kudo's. Can't say enough good things about Hyundai's Elantra and Stew Hanson Hyundai dealership.

I feel weird giving a car dealership five stars: like by their nature they have to have done something wrong.

I bought my new Elantra here closing on a year and a half ago with Izzo (I hope I remember that spelling right. Really nice Bosnian guy). He was really personable and patient. It didn't at all feel like "this deal only lasts today! Buy nooooww!" and I happened to nail like three or four promotions going on for like a grand each: so the option was there.
The buying process was smooth and I feel like by KBB I got a good deal.

Post sale Izzo made sure the 3/4 tank got filled up by personally meeting me down at a gas station a day or two later: a small touch I would have easily overlooked or cared about. The included services bundled with the sale have been smooth and professional, they treat me just as well when I'm getting free services as when I was dropping twenty grand on a fancy trim. And, I've gotten a good deal of follow up calls just making sure everything's going okay, from Izzo.

My birthday recently rolled around (more than a year after the sale) and I got a call from Izzo saying happy birthday and making sure everything was still smooth sailing.

So, it feels weird to give a dealership five stars, but they've well earned them by me. I don't know how long I'll stay in Iowa with these six months of cold darkness, but if I'm here when I'm buying my next one it'll likely be here.

My wife and I changed our minds several times over the process of purchasing our new Vehicle and the sales staff was so helpful and patient with us while we weighed our decisions. Nate and Steve worked incredibly hard to find the exact combination of options we wanted and then continued working to get us a great deal.

Thanks again to everyone for the great job.

My boyfriend bought a car from them a couple month...

My boyfriend bought a car from them a couple months ago and he had an okay experience. I went in recently as I was in the market for a vehicle. test drove a car and the one I was interested in the car wouldn't jump start and the hood wouldn't stay open, yeah I had to hold open the hood so the sales rep could jump it (THIS WAS A NEW 2013 Tuscon!) When I started to talk numbers with the sales rep and they gave me a quote for trade-in value for my current, I mentioned that I could sell it myself for more than they offered. The rep started to get defensive saying "oh you know you car isn't worth that much." (we sold the car for more than their offer btw.) So the Tuscon was listed online and sticker price for a certain amount, when he presented me the offer he said I did not qualify for any discounts so it brought the price up $4,000 more than what was listed. I told him I didn't accept the offer, he went and talked to a manager, came back and handed me my paper and basically walked to me to the door so I could leave because he had to help another person who was actually buying a car. Worst customer service ever. Also don't give out your phone numbers. He started texting me, he wanted to "earn my business" but continued to tell me my car isn't worth that much. Will never buy a car from them!

Excuses, excuses, after excuses. Slow or no replies to messages from sales. I left a voicemail for the GM, but he just had one of his lackyies call me instead. I was trying to get this done remotely due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The people at Stew Hansen's kept wanting me to come to the dealership. No offers to bring the vehicle to us to see and test-drive.
All in all they just acted like they didn't want to sell me a new vehicle. I'm guessing that I will see some half hearted apology following my review.

Very happy with my purchase. My sales consultant, Kristina Husidic, was knowledgeable, friendly, and a real pleasure to work with. The negotiation process was a lot less stressful than I had thought it would be and we negotiated a more than satisfactory price for the new car. My buying experience at Stew Hansen Hyundai was completely satisfactory in all respects and I would recommend Stew Hansen s as a very good place to purchase a used car.

It s hard. Please extend your shuttle service to a more reasonable distance. Thank you.

I stopped by without my husband the first time I visited. Randy was helpful and comfortable to be around and didn't make me feel pressured to buy. When I returned with my husband to have him drive the Santa Fe Randy was great. He understood it would be my car and treated the visit as such. I was surprised how fast he was at finding the exact vehicle with all the features I wanted even though he had to search in another state to get it for me. I was given a time frame to expect delivery and they had it to me in less time which was a pleasant surprise. When we finalized the paperwork Randy was great. I appreciated that he spoke to me about the vehicle and didn't direct the conversation to my husband. It is my Santa Fe and he treated me with respect by deferring to me with the information he was imparting regarding my new Santa Fe.

Love Stew Hansen Dodge and Hyundai but Brody Willrich is not who you want working on your car. He may not even be a mechanic but saw him around my vehicle so I assume he was the one working on it. Was a simple fix yet took several trips back to get it fixed. Just ended up taking it up the road to Stew Hansen Dodge and they took care of me. I don't think Stew Hansen Hyundai is a bad place, they just happened to hire someone who doesn't represent their strengths and values. Just ask that he is not your mechanic and I'm sure you will get an awesome job done on your vehicle.

poor experience. they lost our vehicle on their lot and thus cancelled our scheduled service appointment. Yes, THEY lost it. I could never get the people on the phone I needed to talk to and they failed to return my calls after telling me three time they would do so. Made us wait another full day before working on it, after finally deciding they did in fact have our vehicle. When finally getting the car fixed (two days later) they attempted to charge me for a bill that belonged to someone else. The only bright spot was the very helpful and kind assistant taking payment over the phone. Overall experience, YIKES. They may need a complete overhaul of their system and process. Wouldn't recommend using them until that is complete. Ugh.

Heard such good things about this place. Got approved at Stew Hansen Dodge, went to Stew Hansen Hyundai by acciedent, not knowing there was more than one Stew Hansen. Told salesperson Izzo who I was looking for, and what vehicle, and that I was deciding between two after he asked. He had one kind of the vehicles there. He asked if I wanted to drive it. I loved the vehicle. He then told me that if I was approved at once than I was in the system for all of the Stew Hansen's. He made me fill out another credit application because he said it was a different vehicle than what I got approved for. During this time I was waiting for approval all over again, he could have went over the vehicle with me. He was more worried about getting the vehicle over to the detailing.
When I went to sign my paperwork, I was in Phil's office all of maybe 20 minutes.(It was recorded so there's proof of the time.) He barely touched base of what I was signing. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the "fee's" of about $4000 that would have made a difference in continuing with the paperwork. I then realized after checking my email when I got home that my credit was pulled 6 times that day (two must have been from the same bank) which was proof that he was dishonest about my information being in the system for all Stew Hansen dealerships.
Look, I understand they are pressured not to let the sale leave, if the salesperson takes the time, is honest and willing to put the time in for the sale, he's not going to lose the sale in the long run. I just spent a lot of money on a vehicle there, I love the vehicle, I'm scarred by the experience. Maybe the commission should be based on the overall experience including after the sale.
It wasn't all bad. I worked with Alen and another gentleman a few days later to show me features I didn't know about during the sale and to get an owners manual since it didn't have one, they were fabulous and very helpful.
Moral of the story....when selling a car, do the right thing. Buying a car is not like buying a cell phone. My horrible experience is everywhere I can put it. Including Facebook!

This dealership sold a car to a 79 year old widow named Marilyn Brown. She complained the new car had a toxic smell. The dealership came to pick it up to take back and check out and supposedly / allegedly got into an while test driving it with a bale of hay and tried to give her back the same car weeks after promising her a new replacement. The ABSOLUTE WORST PART OF THIS is that they KNEW she had recently lost her husband as they tried to play this on her. Shame on the owners, managers, and anyone else working here that knew what was going on and said nothing. I will make sure Hyundai Corporate hears about this. Everyone else just search online "Marilyn Brown Stew Hansen Hyundai" and make up your own mind.

I came here to browse the certified preowned vehicles and they wouldn t let me leave until I bought a brand new car. I moved to a different state shortly after buying the vehicle and the communication with Stew Hansen has been a nightmare. They forced me to buy extra things for the vehicle that I didn t need because it was the end of the month and they wanted their sales to be up. Getting title and registration figured out from my trade in was much more hassle than it needed to be. They made ME go to the Polk county treasure office to return my plates for a refund, which was a waste of time because Polk County wouldn t take the old plates. Stew Hansen made me drop the plates off at the dealership and told me they would handle it from there. I was actually suppose to keep my old plates in the end and they had to mail them to me across the country because my temporary tags were about to expire, which was only a result of me constantly calling them and asking what the heck was actually going on. I m confident they wouldn t have even sent them if I didn t nag them about needing plates to drive around legally. Ive had even more issues since then, and they won t return my calls. When given the chance to make things right they miraculously end up screwing things up even more. I ended up paying for brand new registration, title, and license fees for plates I didn t even receive. I was promised a refund check that would reimburse my original payment but it was only for $11, which doesn t add up to the amount I originally paid. I tried to call about this issue but of course they didn t answer. Let s see if they actually call me back this time. This google review is the last place I want to be complaining but I just don t know what to do at this point. I feel taken advantage of and treated unfairly throughout this process and will not be recommending anyone to shop here.

I just wanna say i had a GREAT experience with stew hansen hyundai !!! We had been looking on and off for a new/different vehicle so we had been to many many different dealerships in iowa and just really didnt have a good experience at any of them until we came upon stew hansen's hyundai . i had orignally emailed kris regarding new hyundai elantra's and he was always very prompt on getting back to me with any questions i had and i had told him that we wanted to come down and look at one but wouldnt be able to set up a time and it would most likely be last minute/spur of the moment because we just never knew when we would have time. So thats exactly what it was i had got in a accident which ended up totalling my car so we were pretty much forced to go look . So i called kris on our way down and unfortunately he wasnt there but he told me he would contact matt and he would be able to help me. As soon as we got there we were greeted with a friendly smile. matt went over different cars with us and took his time makeing sure we got what we wanted. They didnt have my color of car i wanted there so they ended up having to get a car from a different state So we had to wait until that following week and we were able to go get the car shortly there after. Bryan helped us with our financing and made that fast and as painless as possible !!! The only down fall i had was they had forgotten to put my remote start on my car but that was made all right because matt came up and got my car from me in ames gave me a loaner car to drive and brought my car back the next day with a full tank of gas, washed and ready to go !! THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD !!!!! WILL DEF RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE AND WILL DEF BE GOING BACK !!!

We were extremely surprised at how easy and stress...

We were extremely surprised at how easy and stress-less our experience here was. We knew we needed a newer vehicle and were not looking forward to the "song and dance" that usually happens at dealerships. Here, were treated fairly and respectfully. We originally started looking for cars in Nov 2019 and came here just looking. Drove some cars, but the salesman, Kris, never pushed us to buy anything and encouraged us to think about it. He followed up, but was never pushy. About a month after our first test drive there, he called to let us know about some vehicles that might fit what we were looking for. Again, we drove them and we didn't make a decision that day at the dealership. We were not pressured to buy any of the vehicles and because of the fact that we didn't feel forced to make a decision, we ended up choosing to go with Kris and a Hyundai Tuscan. And we don't have buyer's regret either, because we feel like we weren't pressured to buy the vehicle right then. We had time to talk over what was right for us and make an informed decision, not an emotional one. Overall, buying a car is stressful and exciting, but dealerships and their people make all the difference as to whether or not you have a good overall experience. We feel good about our choice of vehicle and were are VERY pleased with the fact that they didn't pressure us into making a decision that may not have been right for us. I hope if you are looking for a vehicle and choose to come to this dealership, you have as good an experience as we did.
