If the warranty didn't come with the car, I would never come back. Maintenance side of the house is borderline a joke. They're just there to sell you parts. Wal-Mart does better oil changes. They'll even set your scheduled service indicator. Something that you can't find at the dealership.
BE AWARE THAT ALL CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLES ARE SOLD WITH A WARRANTY FROM A THIRD PARTY. Stew Hansen used this party as an answer to all of my problems. I drove my car into Stew Hansen Hyundai to have it inspected after it started running strange. I was told it needed a full new engine and when I asked why; They did not have an answer. They suggested I have a warranty inspection so they could get to the bottom of what was wrong with the vehicle. While Hyundai decided whether or not they were going to cover it under warranty my car sat at Stew Hansen Hyundai outside for three weeks with the hood open and the engine half disassembled. I have a video of it coming off the tow truck to show the condition I received it in. I didn t receive any paperwork other than a receipt. I was told over the phone that my camshaft was misaligned. I was very upset with how my car was returned to me. When it arrived it dumped gasoline all over my driveway. They offered $100 off my bill, a free tow, and employee priced parts only if I changed my review from a one-star because it affects performance based reviews. That is not something I knew until Tony told me. Tony was very attentive until I changed my review to 5 star. I reached out to Stew Hansen's and between Tony Pelham, the service manager and Scott Brown, the general manager it took me eleven attempts by phone and twice in person to receive any documentation on what they found on the inspection. All I received was a completely different diagnosis and it was written on the back of a business card. Scott Brown said he would send documentation over to me twice but it never happened. Tony said he would no longer honor the employee priced parts because of how annoyed he was with the situation. He claims the only reason he offered me those deals was to help me out. My experience with Stew Hansen was completely unprofessional. I have dates for all of this line by line. Tony deleted my last review because I described the free tow, employee priced parts, and $100 off my bill as a bribe. I am positive no one knows why my engine started acting strange because no one at Hyundai is interested in why my engine failed but instead how they can deny my warranty and yours too.

Nick in your service department was great to work with. He listened
to all my concerns and questions. He also knew I was from SW Iowa and was only going to be in Dsm a short while which meant a second trip to pick
up my car. My phone rang 1 1/2 hrs after dropping off my car, it was
Nick informing me my car would be ready in the next 15 minutes! Kudo's
to Nick for quickly calling me before I had left town. Details of everything
they had done were explained before I left in my shiny washed car.

I had an appt to test drive a Palisade and it was a very busy day. The sales person I was scheduled with had one of his team take me for the test drive. Everyone was very courteous and committed to providing excellent service at a time that was busy and completely out of their control. I walked in at 1:50 for a 2:00 appt and drove home with a new car at 5:15. Very impressed.

Sales and finance staff were all excellent to work with - helpful, patient in answering questions and covering options, and went out of their way to make a deal that met our needs. Found a truck on the used lot and took it home the same day. Kris and Luis were awesome and took care of us - will continue to come back to Stew Hansen for our family s vehicle needs.

Jordan Ingram did a great job. He greeted me quickly and called me when my car was done. I dropped off the vehicle and took the shuttle to work. The shuttle driver was great to talk to on the way there and back. My appointment time was actually for about 9am but Jordan called me at about 8:30am to let me know my car was done even though he knew I was not picking it up until after I returned from work at 5pm. That made me feel great to know they were able to get it done way earlier than expected and I knew my.car would be ready when I returned. I truly appreciated the phone call and detailed information. The vehicle was vacuumed on the front floor and clean on the outside. I was glad to see they did not forget the resetting of the oil change marker. Great experience.

Extremely mixed experiences here. The sales staff are great, but some of the support staff and mechanics are mind-blowingly incompetent, something I've learned over months. I'm torn about ever going back, as I love Hyundai's, but don't ever want to go there for warranty work.

Good experience buying a used car. They wouldn t go down in price, but offered some oil changes.
Losing one star because of a sneaky charge. Beware of a $900 charge for a anti-theft package. This was never discussed until I was signing the final paperwork. When I asked what it was, they brought it down to cost... which was still $500. They said that you have to buy it, and would cost more to remove it. That should have either been included in the price or discussed before the final minutes of the transaction.
Otherwise I m excited for my car!

My buying experience was great! I was really worried about financing without a co-signer because I had to transfer over some negative equity from my previous car to my new loan. They stayed right around my price range and I am pretty happy! My salesman, Richard Goudy, really listened to what I wanted to help me find the right car for me. He was very honest and was not pushy at all like some salesman can be.

My only complaint is that my maintenance light came on when I was on my way home, which I feel should ve been checked in detail before handing the car over. I took it to O Reilly immediately on my way home because I was too far from the dealership already and it was late at night. They checked my battery because a check charging system notification popped up on my dashboard, and I am in need of a new battery. I will he taking it back to the dealership today to see how they handle the situation.

Maintenance light aside, it was a pretty good experience!

First of all, I really dissapointed your services center.

I bought a car last time 2013 hyundai ELANTRA through your dealership

Since I bought a car, services were really bad

I can't expain all of things that your dealership did

I sold my car, and I bought used car through other company 2012 Hyundai GENESIS

In order to get full inspection, I visited your dealership, and I paid around $100 to get services.

and I waited around 3 hours in your center

After finishing full inspections, your engineer said your car has no problem

But, I already know about problems with Tires, but they didn't tell me anything about this

So, I just asked about this, he said "GOOD"

I showed tires what it has peoblems, they said Oh you have to replace this

And also I knew problems with parking sensor and criuse control

I also asked about that, but your dealership said "DID WORK"

Also, I showed those of things, and they said you have to replace those of things

For checking everthing, I paid around $100, and also I waited a lot of time

your dealership just said "GOOD"

I can't believe it....

Our Korean Association bought a car throughout your dealership "2013 Genesis, 2014 Elantra, 2013 Elantra,2014 veloster"

However, every students said Services are bad

consquently, this dealership is bad

Don't expect to get your car repaired here unless ...

Don't expect to get your car repaired here unless the check engine light comes on and stays on. Otherwise nothing will get done. My fuel gauge hasn't worked accurately in over a year (the fuel gauge may suddenly drop as much as 1/2 tank or more and the average miles per gallon on the trip odometer will reset 3 or 4 times every tank of gas.) But because there's no trouble code stored, there's "nothing wrong" with it. (It even did it before I got pulled out of the dealership after being told that.)

So after a year with still no trouble code, I expect to be putting up with this problem for the remaining life of the car. If there was anywhere else I could take my vehicle for warranty work I certainly would.

Matt Conrad is an amazing salesman and helped me get a deal, however there are individuals present that should be avoided. It's rather frustrating to see promises made to customers and they are never followed through with. If you're of Indian culture or descent you're better off finding another location to do business with as behind your back you will be called a "Patel" and not genuinely welcomed as any other customer. This is a common occurrence and term used on the used side in an effort to delegate that you should be avoided and are going to either waste someone's time, or grind for a deal.

I have used Stew Hansen Dodge for many years and my care has always been vaccumed before it was returned. I was disappointed because it came back to me dirtier than when i dropped it off.

My wife and I have been looking for a little over a month to purchase a new vehicle. We had actually purchased a sorento from kia of DES Moines and had an awful experience and actually had taken that vehicle back due to poor customer service and being lied to. So my wife and I had about given up. We had visited about 6 or 7 dealerships and decided on a whim to go to Stew Hansen Hyundai. Words can not explain how helpful and how great their team is. Throughout the entire process they made sure my family and I were comfortable with purchasing our vehicle. They went above and beyond any other dealership we had visited. If you are looking for a great experience with no pressure with wonderful management I definitely say shop for a new vehicle through Stew Hansen Hyundai. They will try their best and make sure you have nothing but a great experience throughout your buying process. Thank you Jason and Alan!

Purpose was to drop off our 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited for recall notice. Greeted by service person named Jordan who was very courteous and help getting the car checked in and answering questions. I got a courtesy ride back home and they will call me when it is finished.
Quite a different experience find the first time I walked in the showroom A salesperson made a derogatory statement because I had bought the car used car from a private as opposed to from them. Thanks to Jordan I have a completely different opinion about the dealership at this point.

I had a negative experience in January and was gunshy to go back to Stew Hansen's. However a call from Nate Eastman inquiring about my past experience changed my opinion of Stew Hansen's. Although it was not his fault for the past experience he apologized and asked that I give them another chance. I reluctantly met with Nate. So glad I did! He was smiling and clearly enjoys his job! He was extremely helpful and a joy to work with! He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Steve Westra, manager, also apologized, again not his fault, and asked for another chance. I appreciated his honesty on my past experience. Kyle Brown, finance, was also amazing and made the paperwork process enjoyable.

Excellent service from start to finish! I'm happy to say that Nate. Steve, and Kyle have completely changed my negative experience into a VERY positive one!!! I highly recommend working with these three wonderful people!!

Horrible customer service department. I had a recall on my vehicle I bought from there in 2014 new and they just keep giving me the run around. They even said they would fix it so I took it in and waited 3 hours for them only to tell me they are waiting a part. They said 4-6 weeks several months ago. When I call they keep dropping my calls or transferring me to someone else that can t figure it out. Always say they will call me back but never do.

As I am reviewing the paperwork that is handed to me after purchasing a new car, I am becoming aware of the lies that I was told in the financing office of this dealership. Beware of the digital signature pad! You do not see what you are signing before it is final. Ask for everything you are asked to sign is printed on paper. Kyle, the finance guy told us that we HAD to pay an additional $400 for a safety feature on the windshield of our 2017 Tuscon, this sounded sketchy but we trusted his information. Never did he say that this was optional or a warranty. Any time we heard warranty we declined, so I guess Kyle moved on the a lie. This is the second lie that we have discovered that came out of this financing office and I am disgusted! We will not purchase another vehicle from Stew Hansen.

They would send me emails on wanting my leased vehicle and when I would go out there they would offer me outrages payments for something different. I have bought 5 vehicles from them and they still want to take advantage of me. They told me they would have the manager contact me and I am still waiting almost 3 weeks later. I will not buy another vehicle from them. They like to have you drive all the way out there and waste your time. I wanted to do a lot of it online so I wouldn't waste time going out there and they told me that I would walk away with a new vehicle for less. I also have been in the shop to replace a tire sensor 4 times and it still doesn't work right and they try to charge me for the reprogram of the sensor when its their fault it doesn't work. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT STEW HANSENS!

Do NOT buy a used car here. They will tell you things like theft protection ($500) and maintenance ($150) are included but then charge you for them. I told them I didn t want either of these things. They said don t worry they are included. I took my car home and one of the keys didn t work in the ignition. I had to go back to the dealer, wait for 45 minutes and was promised they would get me a key. Three months later and countless phone calls and I still don t have a key. Save your money and time and drive to a different Hyundai dealer.

They have been unable to find and seem ready to give up on a fault in my cruise control, which drops out with no notice - like no brake lights to warn the semi behind you. I will go to corporate about that. The local dealership service crew is otherwise very nice.

Worst experience I've ever had. I made an appointm...

Worst experience I've ever had. I made an appointment for a specific repair to the suspension. After dropping off my car, I received a call to go over the service to be performed, to my surprise, the specific reason I brought my car in, was not included in the list of repairs/recalls. And not only did we not have it scheduled to be repaired, we also do not have the parts available, they will take 2 more days. In the meantime, while fixing the other recalls, they somehow managed to break my windshield wiper motor and the motor for heater/air unit. So while waiting for parts to come in for the original repairs requested, I had to drive my car with my young daughter and pregnant, in winter conditions, freezing rain, 35 degrees with no wipers or heat or defrost. I left endless messages for manager and service rep to notify them of these new issues and neither would return my calls. Finally I just had to go there directly to request a loaner. This is the 2nd Hyundai I've owned and would consider purchasing another one, but since this is the only Hyundai service dept in Des Moines, I will never purchase another Hyundai or get my vehicle serviced here again. Worst customer service experience I've ever had.

We were MAJORLY lowballed on our trade. Stew Hansen Dodge had the same van with a cheaper trim model than ours, selling for $13,000. We have a DVD player and less mileage and they offered us $7750 for ours which would've put us upside down $4000 on our existing car loan. That's totally ridiculous and insulting. I would advise to take your trade somewhere else. Sounds like that's how they do business. I'm sure buying a car here without a trade is fine. Everyone was very friendly.

I purchased a Hyundai from a different dealership three weeks ago and that dealership took it to Stew Hansen for an air deflector and sunroof seal repair. It took over 2+ weeks for the repair without any communication, transparency, or update. They would not return calls after my dealership made several phone calls to the service department. I did talk to the service adviser and they said that they had to order parts (this was after a week and a half of no communication). It has been over a week since that conversation took place and we are finally getting our car back today! I am very disappointed in the service department at Stew Hansen Hyundai after not providing communication to the other dealer and myself!

Wasn't to bad, but could of been better. I didn't like the disconnect with the financing end of things. Also they mention the under coating sealant I signed to get it and they cut it out of our loan to meet are payments we wanted. So I might of been okay if they mentioned it right away, but instead I was anticipating it and waiting for my associate to call me back with times. Two weeks later I call him to ask and that's when he let's me know they had to make some cut backs and that was one.
Additionally they can't keep paper work and keys in order either..... Had to make another trip done there to get title corrected and second key that was MIA for 2weeks.
