Tom was amazing with letting us try all the vehicles and very patient with my indecisive manner. Both he and Matt worked together once I found a vehicle I really enjoyed to make it possible for me to bring it home. I really appreciate the professionalism shared by both guys. I ll be sure to check with these guys again for future vehicle business. Thanks guys!

My wife and I had a very pleasant buying experience at Stew Hansen Hyundai in Des Moines, Iowa. We were not "overly" pressured when it came to add-ons from the dealership and our sales person was not only very knowledgeable, but also did a nice job truly listening to our wants.

Tristen, our salesman, was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He's definitely underpaid and deserves a raise. He made us feel very comfortable (as did everyone) with the entire purchasing process.

Terrible service. After being screwed around at a ...

Terrible service. After being screwed around at a dealership in Illinois for an engine burning oil I brought it here after moving. I brought it in Saturday was told no one there was competent to start an oil consumption test on Saturdays and that I had to bring my car back during the week. I asked how late they were open during the week and was told 730pm.

I brought my car in the following thurday right after work and was told everyone able to begin the test leaves at 4pm. This was the same person who told me they were open until 7pm. They suggested I make an appointment for a Saturday (appointments are 6 weeks behind). Why wasn't I told that no one was competent for the simple test after 4pm? God forbid your car has a serious problem. You can forget about being taken care of by this dealership. I can see why there are so many negative reviews.

This 1 star review is for the (non) service department. For 2 business days, I have attempted for speak to or have have a voicemail returned by a service advisor. Revise rating after updates

I have a 2018 Kona Limited and my interior hood release lever broke after the 4th use. I have tried multiple times and methods to speak to someone. I even explained this to the online chat as was assured some would contact me. No joy.

I had 3 simple questions - is it under warranty? is the part in stock? when can I get it repaired.

I finally gave up. I called the Parts department, left a message, and was contacted in 5 minutes.. I explained what was wrong and what part I needed. He promptly looked it up, said he had to order, and would ship to me when in. This part was around $20, so that is the path I took. My local mechanic (I live in Ames so the drive is 40 miles+ each way, plus time off from work) will do the repair once I get that part.

This is unacceptable customer response from service department. Parts was great, but don't you dare reply that my experience was great due to Parts. This is directed to the total failure of the service department.

I will not use you for any routine maintenance and god forbid if I have a major warranty issue. I should have bought a Honda or Toyota in Ames. However, I have been a dedicated Hyundai buyer as this is my 3rd one.

On Tuesday I took an day off. My 2019 Kona had a check engine light come on. They took 4 hours to all they had to to do is read the code.. They were nice enough to give me a loaner so I did not haveto wait. Long story short - ihey blamed me fo a loose gas cap, bad gas, ect. Alyssa was great and waived the charge. I just started the car now, never got gas, never touched the gas cap and the light is back on.
Update: Much calmer now, I have another appointment. Hopefully thye can resolve this issue

Another update. Friday took another day off. 9.30 appointment. Again nice enough to give me a loaner. Checked 3 hours later and car was just now being looked at.?Appointment? Anyway they are keeping my car as there is a known problem with CEL as I find out now. Let me keep loaner while they work with Hyundai on this problem. So I will say that I am satisfied they're finally trying to get to the root cause.

Excellent, friendly staff who worked on my best in...

Excellent, friendly staff who worked on my best interests. Eric and Alan were very helpful and I drove away in my second Hyundai. Worked hard to get rebates and to get good amount for my trade-in. They gave me time to think about my purchase and advised in what would be in my best interests which is great when I don t have family in the area to bring with me. I wouldn t go anywhere else in the Des Moines area.

Great place to buy a car! We were immediately greeted by our salesperson, Izzo. He was exceptionally knowledgeable without being pushy. He was the most enjoyable part of the car-buying experience by far... They apparently have to accompany the car buyer during the test drive (which I absolutely detest) and, thankfully, he was able to add to the experience rather than being a detriment (which I ve experienced before with other salespersons). Normally, if the salesperson demands to tag along during the test drive...I leave and buy elsewhere. Izzo promised to sit in the back and only add to the conversation if asked...we tried the car and left with a new SUV a few hours later.

The overall experience was good (although I almost left during the financial portion of the process) and I would buy their again in the future...

If you go...try to get the salesperson, Izzo, he is a great person, a straight-shooter, and very pleasant to work with.

Had a scheduled appt for an oil change to which I said I needed shuttle service. I was a few minutes early to check in and signed in for the service. I waited 1/2 hr past my scheduled time before shuttle arrived. I know other people need to get shuttled, but if I put down a time, it's ridiculous to wait 1/2 hr past my scheduled time. I understand up to 10 minutes or so, but come on...30 minutes??!!! What is the point of scheduling people if you aren't going to follow it. I then Declined the shuttle thinking since I was already 30 minutes into the oil change, I'd just wait out the remaining 30-40 minutes. An HOUR after that my car was finally done. I was livid. With a scheduled appointment, an oil change shouldn't take 1 1/2hrs. Luckily my work is flexible and I can make up that time. THEN to top things off, I was told that my warranty I got ,less than a yr ago when I bought my car there, only included 3 free oil changes whereas we were told unlimited oil changes for the yr. We even joked when we bought the car that I'd stop in each month for an oil change and the salesman said honestly if we wanted to do that we could. The service mngr did honor that and didn't charge me, but from here out I will not be shopping there for our vehicles or using their service.

Twice my family has come here and both times we were told a great price until it got time to close. At that point all of a sudden the price became much different. Much higher. Not only that they denied even offering the lower price. Today we were told a price and stated that they were ready to sit down and close it with us. We were very happy. We went to test drive the car first and when we came back and sat down to close the manager told us he couldn't go lower than a certain price. Over $1000 than what was originally agreed on. Do not trust this place or the managers who work there. They will try to manipulate you into paying more than the agreed upon price.

I bought my 2013 Hyundai Sonata from Stew Hansen back in 2012 but the customer service is miserable.

I called on 12/10/18, to schedule a quick oil change and tire rotation and my call went to some customer service department that Hyundai hires to take quick calls. I was attempting to reach a Service Advisor at the Clive location. Each time I think I'm contacting the correct phone number to schedule a service appointment, I have it incorrect.

When I contacted customer service, I was told that I had a safety recall on my vehicle. I then asked if I could schedule a time for Saturday for the work but the customer service representative told me that would not work and I must schedule a time during the week. In the past, this has never been an issue and I would recommend that if you want work to be completed on your vehicle, call a Service Technician at Stew Hansen as the customer service representatives know thing!

I contacted Stew Hansen and then asked for a Service Advisor and of course "everyone" is busy. The operator asked if I wanted to leave them a message or if I would like to leave a message with the operator for them to track someone down. I asked to be transferred to a Service Advisor voicemail. A voicemail picked up and no name of the Service Advisor who I was leaving a voicemail with. This is very pathetic type of customer service by Stew Hansen.

Three hours pass and no one called me back so I called Stew Hansen and was transferred to the voicemail of Jeff. Several hours pass and I still have not heard anything back on if I can schedule an appointment. The customer service at Stew Hansen fails all the time and they need to work on bettering themselves on how they treat their customers.

Beware when financing at the used lot for changing...

Beware when financing at the used lot for changing agreed on pricing with hidden bundled items. Check your paperwork carefully for identity protection packages ect. Also get ready to say no a lot of times if you don't want something. Ex: gap coverage.

Was once again a good experience dealing with Stew Hansen. Have dealt with alot of dealerships in the past and they were night.ares. As a single woman , I appreciated the respect given to me and was not made to feel like as a woman I disnt know anything about car dealing. Also that it doesn't take hours to get things completed . So keep it it you are doing fantastic!!

Great service. The agent walked me through all the details of the car I was looking for. Got a great car for a decent price. The car felt smooth on test drive and I am looking forward to being the owner of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra I bought yesterday. I would recommend trying out this place if you are looking for cars.

Steve and Devin were awesome to work with. I didn t know specifically what I wanted, but Steve took the features that were most important to me and I got exactly what I wanted on the first test drive and then Devin explained all the features walking me through demonstrations and answering my questions. Even though I don t remember his name specifically (Sorry, I was a little excited), the finance guy was terrific also going through and explaining everything. Thanks for a great car-buying experience!

Though we had issues with our car our sales consultant, Nathan Horn, did an amazing job helping us out with the car issues. He did a great job fixing our situation and if anyone is to buy a car from here get this man to help you. We probably wouldn't have our car issues fixed if it wasn't for his guidance and for the great managers.

The Matt (sales person) and Luis (finance) were great. Found an excellent first car for my son and Luis was able to get me a better rate than I came in pre-approved with. This is the second car we ve purchased from Stew Hansen and although there have been some issues along the way. They always dealt with them head on and made things right. I would definitely recommend this dealership if you re looking for a new or used vehicle.

Couldn't be happier with my experience with Stew Hansen Hyundai's service department. Jordan specifically took excellent care of both me and my 2013 Sonata. I made it there shortly before closing and he ensured me that my car would be all set the next day and gave me a clear sense of what to expect.

Jordan and his team treated me with tons of respect and kindness despite my never having been to this dealer before. Even more important, they were able to fix the problem swiftly, replacing a part that an independent mechanic put in for almost half the price that the independent mechanic was charging. They also helped me gain an understanding of the issue that allowed me to seek a refund from the first independent shop that put in the faulty part. I came out of the service hardly in the negative because they took such good care to not only fix the problem, but to help me understand the situation too.

If I lived in the Des Moines area permanently, I would absolutely purchase my next car here too. Thanks Jordan!

Salesman Trinsten was very helpful on providing information and details I needed before making the long trip. Long story, short. My wife and I drove home, in our new truck that night. Bought a certified used car here and would have given 5 stars if the sales rep Monte C. that I had 1st contact with had been honest and told there is several lots. I had an appt set up and was told no one by the name Kris Kremin works there and was told the cars I came to see were no longer available. So after a wasted afternoon of being shown cars I had no interest in I weblog home to do more research and found the cars I had come to see and had messages from Kris who I had made appt with. That was on a Saturday so bad to wait until Mon. To try again and by then cars I wanted see had sold. Kris K. the sales rep was so nice and made the whole experience very relaxed and pressure free! I found a great car with Kris's help and drove it home that day! I highly recommend asking for Kris Kremin for a very relaxed car shopping experience!
