Stevens pass had a great mix of easy, moderate, and intimidating runs close to the greater Seattle area. It is worth mentioning that I have limited experience snowboarding on mountains - The staff were fun, friendly and helpful.

My first time skiing ever; so I can t comment on the technical aspect. But what amazed me was how friendly and helpful all the staff were. They would literally bend backwards to accommodate all your needs.
Tip: be there before 8 AM and be careful in the parking. our car was boxed by other cars and there was no parking security on duty when we were leaving.

Stevens Pass is located farther away than Snoqualm...

Stevens Pass is located farther away than Snoqualmie, but makes up for it in more favorable snow quantity. That isn't to say you'll always find fresh pow, though. If you get here early enough you can make first tracks on the backside, which can be absolutely stellar, but later in the day you'll be competing with plenty of other skiers and snowboarders. If the snowfall the previous night was particularly good, you can find relatively undisturbed lines through the trees on the backside all day; otherwise, there are usually too many hard chunks to make this type of exploration worthwhile, and the marked runs on the backside tend to get icy since the backside faces south. Seventh Heaven also tends to get pretty mogully and skiied out over the course of the afternoon I would say the best day on Stevens rates just under the best day at Crystal, and you can find great deals on lift tickets at Costco (around $44 last time I checked). Last but not least: if you want to avoid horrible traffic (thanks to a single lane road and traffic lights in Index and Gold Bar), leave at around 2pm before the crowds do.

If you live far away or have kids don t bother. Was turned away due to no parking (common occurrence after talking to friends) with a screaming infant in the back and the attendants wouldn t even let us pull in to feed him. For the time and effort there are better mountains to visit until they figure their stuff out.

I've never been to Stevens Pass in the winter, but when I come for bike season it's always fun. I love the inside of the lodge, the staff is always helpful and friendly, and the food is really good. Treat yourself!

Steven pass is one of the preeminent ski resorts in the Pacific northwest. Offering numerous chair lifts and runs that encompass beginner to black diamond a full day of skiing can be enjoyed.

Although there are no overnight lodging facilities, the daytime use is great. Food and beverage is available at more the one location.

Summertime usage provides the opportunity to mountain bike and extensive set of trails.

I've only snowboarded here twice but it was a great time both trips! They have the best learning area for the young ones or even less experienced adults. The magic carpets make it so much easier for them to learn. They have the longest begginer area that I've been too as well. Overall it's a great place to board. Parking was superb definitely need awd/4WD or chains for the parking lot. Sometimes you get stopped on a hill and getting traction can be a bit tricky for 2wd vehicles. Also the food was good, pretty standard overpriced resort food. But hey you're in the mountains what do you expect. :)

This place was amazing! Most of the staff were happy and very helpful. Joe a snowboard instructor was the best. He helped my wife and mother in law and myself learn the basics. In the 2 hours we had with him it felt like an old friend teching you. We all had the skills and confidence needed to have a great and safe day.

I deeply regret taking a beginner snowboarding lesson here with my family. In hind sight, I could have saved $240, had a lot more fun, and been safer if I had watched a few YouTube videos. SnowboardProCamp has an excellent beginner playlist!

Our instructor, whom I ll call E, has no business teaching- I m sure that they are a great person, and an awesome snowboarder, but those two things do not make a good instructor.

To start E had us skate around a bit and then take a couple magic carpets to a safe and tiny slope of about 10- 15 degree decline that extended for about 15 feet. We went over some basics like sliding forward, toe slide, heel slide, slide with the board perpendicular forward and backward, and how to go straight when you start perpendicular. But E was very quiet, I had to keep asking them to repeat what they said because I couldn t hear. I asked E about how to get up after falling, as I was spending a lot of time falling, she did a quick demo, but I didn t get it. I asked for tips about better balance, E said to keep your arms out pretend to hold trays with a bunch of water glasses. We stayed at the tiny slope for two hours- it was pretty boring and it was clear E didn t want to be there.

Finally, we moved on but I think the slope was too much for our first time. It was the hairpin slope with the sign fastest way to the lodge . None of us made it without taking some serious tumbles. I m sure the slope would have been a piece of cake for most people, but for complete beginners, it really sucked. I couldn t keep my board straight or slowdown, and I couldn t get up without falling right back down on the hill. We were all pretty miserable so I ended the session an hour early- E thought that worked out well since we started 10 minutes early.

Later at home, I watched a few complete beginner you tube vids, and wished I had watched the vids instead of paying $240 for a couple hours of misery.

Since being taken over nothing but higher prices and less parking with no upgrades or additions to infrastructure. Now they are charging $94 a day, that's a joke and pure greed. Go to baker instead they're prices have only increased by $6 in the last decade and you know you'll be able to find a parking spot. Stevens is dead to me

If you want to start learn to ski or snowboard, this is the place. Affordable lessons including equipment rental. Only for $200 they guarantee that you'll learn in 3 lessons. I was able to ride daisy on day one. But make sure you arrive very early, the latest 8am if you want to get your money's worth so you can ride longer. Parking is terrible. But still my favorite place to snowboard.

Now a member of EPIC. Very nice faciliites for the NW. Good crosssection of terrain and decent lifts. Pretty although occasionally treacherous two lane drive up from the west. Only 30 min drive east to Leavenworth.

Stevenspass has been my Go-To mountain in Washington for 15 years. I have been a seasons pass holder in the past and have loved the mountain. I will say though, ever since Vail has acquired Stevenspass, I have noticed a few unfortunate things. Of course, Vail has brought on several positive aspects like future projects to upgrade lifts & and I am sure they will be making the resort nicer. However, they have brought on many negatives. The prices have SKYROCKETED. You are paying nearly $100 dollars at the window, and maybe $80 if you get your ticket in advance. This is about the same price as going to whistler, which is 6 times the size of this place. Night skiing is over 40 dollars now as well. We are talking about a resort that used to offer night skiing as low as $20 dollars on black friday and under $30 if you had an "advantage pass". No Deals like this ever show up anymore. They got rid of the Costco tickets, Advantage Pass, Tickets at REI & no black friday deals. They also got rid of the machines that automatically senses your pass and lets you through and gone back to hand scanning passes? Seems like they have regressed with technology and chosen a less efficient process. It has really gone from my favorite mountain, to just another over priced Vail resort.

By far some of the best boarding I have had the pleasure of experiencing. Met a lot of great people on the slopes and in the kitchens! An all around blast in the winter, and I have heard the summer mountain biking is wicked awesome too!

Awesome no-frills resort. Great variety of terrain, from mellow groomers to some really fun, steep sections on the backside. Lots of cliffs and rocks to jump off if you want it. Lifts and lodge are certainly not high-speed or and swanky, but I much prefer that to some of the uber-luxury resorts you find nowadays. If you're there on a weekday it's great, no lines. But be warned, if you are trying to ski Sat or Sun, you're advised to show up by 8 AM latest; the parking is a nightmare when all of Seattle descends upon the inadequate parking space.

Steven's never disappoints. The terrain and the amount of lifts allows for an eventful day no matter what. I especially love riding on the backside of the mountain. I would say Steven's is the best Washington has to offer, on a pow day anyway!

The place is a well oiled machine. They get you through pretty quickly if you are renting equipment. Wendi and Marisa who work in administration and Rentals were wonderful! Very helpful and sweet. Wendi walked me to two different buildings instead of just pointing them out.

Love this area while visiting the Washington area. Beautiful place to visit while on the Stevens Pass mountain with a relaxing atmosphere. Great views and some of the best skiing to done around.

Fun for the whole family and friends. Access friendly entrance. Clean facilities throughout including the bathrooms. Our visit was cold and sunny this time.

Beautiful views all-around the nearby mountains. Great exercise, photography opportunities and fun to be found here also.

Be prepared for a little adverse mountain weather if necessary on the way in or out.

Parking was plentiful and easily accessible. Spots were a little tight in some places. Snow was fast and flowing.

We loved the skiing trip which was relaxing and the variety of entertainment that was provided to us here.

Better snow than Crystal! Less moguls than the other Seattle "home" mountains makes this place muuuuuuch more fun for snowboarders. Make sure to make it to the back side of the mountain if you want less crowds!!
