Unfortunately, the anticipation was greater. The arrival was a disappointment. The staff was very nice, but the hotel, where such lovely people work, deserves a complete overhaul.
Why not?

Rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. Hotel was clean throughout, with friendly staff that put up with my terrible attempts at German. Pool was small but a nice place to relax after a long day on your feet.

Very nice hotel in the city center, but we had no bathrobes in the room and there weren't any other available, as the hotel was almost fully booked, the pool was very small for the size of the hotel, and the sauna area was for a 5 star hotel joke
Otherwise the staff was very friendly and the breakfast left nothing to be desired

This is a nice hotel located in a decent part of the city centre with easy transport links. Staff are friendly and they are happy to hold your luggage before you can check-in or after you check out.

The hotel is quite nice (apart from the advertised queen sized bed actually being 2 beds shoved together..) and the bathroom is lovely, however, if you absolutely need an Internet connection while in the hotel, be it for work or skyping loved ones avoid this hotel by all means- the WiFi is slow and the signal kept fluctuating, Google maps wouldn't load, Spotify wouldn't download and I wouldn't even attempt to start a video chat with someone....

Can only rate a business breakfast. Good hygiene concept, everyone has their own table with their own breakfast at their place. Breakfast was ok. Staff very friendly. Parking spaces in the area are free until 9 a.m., from then on parking fees, otherwise public underground parking in front of the door.

Good location, nice breakfast, good sized rooms (we had the delux), clean, but the design of the hotel and the rooms is a bit boring.
Price was reasonable - about 150 euros per night, including breakfast. Good place to stay in Berlin!

We booked a room for New Year's Eve at the Steigenberger Hotel, for 2 nights. Deluxe incl. Bath, breakfast, city view and on the 5th or 6th floor. When we arrived there, we unfortunately had to realize that we ended up in a standard room without a bath, without breakfast and view to the rear. The disappointment was great and when asked whether or why we did not get our room, we could not give an answer, except that there were no free rooms. That we have already paid and the price for a standard room during this period is 200 less was answered with a "yes this is not my fault and the price you can definitely do nothing more". After a long back and forth, we were finally promised our booked room for the next morning, but the next morning this was unfortunately forgiven again. After several complaints from different people we finally got our room on the evening of the second day, the joke was that this room was already open all the time. That we were looking forward to a relaxed weekend for two was absolutely not fulfilled. As compensation there was a sparkling wine and a damp handshake. The only positive thing was that the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Very classy and very accommodating. We liked it.

We brought our luggage to the room and drove our car in the underground car park. And without a word, our car was pulled up again when we left.

so! the hotel itself is getting on in years, but still nice to look at.
Room spacious and clean.

We had the Sen Spa Massage 90min at a very high price (110 ) which I would like to have given me again.

The massage was just "massaging" nothing special, no familiar feeling to the woman who performed the massage. My husband could have done that at home as well.

That disappoints me today, one day later still and it's a shame about the money!

If you want a good massage, you shouldn't look for it in the hotel itself.
We wanted to give it a try and were disappointed.

We check out today and have breakfast out, because 25 for what is offered does not seem justified to us.

Maybe we're just not decadent people;)

A really lovely place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. There's a superb selection of hot/cold drinks, continental and cooked foods. My room is really amazing. All very plush. The Nespresso coffee machine was particularly appreciated. It's in a very convenient location, with nearby restaurants and shops within a short walk. There's also a bar and restaurant within the hotel itself. I will certainly visit again. Highly recommended.

The hotel is not bad, breakfast is very good, staff very friendly, BUT rooms 362 and 363 are right above the sauna area. You wake up when it is cleaned from 4:30 clock. If someone takes a shower there, you hear it too.
Room 362 has the added benefit of having goods delivered under the window early in the morning and running the engine of the delivering truck.

Well

We spent our wedding weekend at the Steigenberger ...

We spent our wedding weekend at the Steigenberger Hotel at the Chancellery. We rented the suit for 2 days and 620 and paid for it on site. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the behavior of your employees. We had to call 5 times and wait 1.5 hours until toilet paper and fresh towels were brought to our room. In the end, the receptionist came up himself and personally brought us the toilet paper and towels. Furthermore, the joints in the shower are quite moldy. The room is very dusty and the carpet was partly dirty. Housekeeping was talking Asian in the hallway and laughing out loud. What we found unusual. When we tried to check out we were told we had smoked in the room. Housekeeping apparently rummaged through the trash can and found cigarette stubs in a container that my wife smoked outside. They actually took cigarettes out of the garbage can and brought them to the reception in their container. We were shown this "as proof" that we had smoked in the room. We explain that my wife smoked outside and did not want to dispose of the stub on the floor. I am a non-smoker myself.
Then we should pay 58 for the parking garage. My credit card was declined during the payment process. I asked if I could get an invoice and transfer it the same day.
Ms. Schilin told me that I cannot be let go without payment. Then there was a long discussion. Ms. Schilin explained to me that you have to call the police (about 58 !). Which Mr. Romeo, who got louder, did. I explained that unfortunately this does not change the situation in which the card is rejected. I said I found the behavior very embarrassing about 58. Ms. Schilin replies that we are embarrassed! Nowhere in the world have we experienced such an underground treatment in a Steigenberger hotel! I said it was embarrassing to call the police about 58, again Ms. Schilin replied that I should be ashamed of my behavior. Unfortunately, the level sang extremely and we felt worse and worse because they didn't want to let us go. My wife and I were shocked and waited for the police. The police came 1 hour later and criticized the lack of signage and the information that the parking garage had cost money. We felt it was a hidden cost. Ms. Schilin said the prices are on the pay machines? Why wasn't this pointed out at check-in when we asked if there was parking in the house. They said yes and we assumed it was free. However, you don't see a price tag when you drive in. At least I didn't see anything. I also missed an important business meeting.
We told Ms. Schilin that we didn't think it was okay that she treated us like that. She replied: I'm pregnant and I don't talk to people like you anymore. Also, you didn't want to give our vehicle out if you didn't pay cash immediately. The hotel wanted to keep our car as a deposit for 58! We imagined our days after the wedding to be quite different and we will certainly never forget that day. In other countries and until this incident, we were actually always satisfied with the Steigenberger hotel chain. You should watch out for hidden costs at this hotel, the mini bar is free in some rooms and not in some. The costs for the parking garage are not adequately signposted and no information is given about costs. Parking is NOT included with a room rental of 630. I do not recommend this hotel as we were treated like criminals and insulted.

We stayed for one night in Steigenberger hotel and should on our arrival a mastercard as a deposit. Since we did not have a credit card, we deposited cash. The way Mr. X reacted to that at the reception was a joke! As if it would have been a great effort for him to make this possible. We also had to inform him that he handed us the Berlin Travel Card. Otherwise he would have forgotten it. Our first impression of the hotel was therefore unfortunately not positive. The lobby and the corridors are rather dark and cool, we thought that was a pity, as well as the rooms, which should be modern, but in our case not addressed. Arriving in the room, we noticed a nauseating smell in the bathroom. As it turned out, the toilet had not been thoroughly cleaned and on the edge under the toilet seat we found fecal residues. Simply terrible! On the furniture there were brownish traces, possibly coffee stains or similar. The screen of the TV in the room was tiny. In addition, with us in the bathroom in the shower the light bulb out and the ventilation looked dusty. In addition, the staff spread an unpleasant mood (not everyone, but we were, for example, a strange patterned by a lady, because we came in jeans and sneakers came along, what with many guests also occurred!). Finally, we also had a free welcome drink available. Not a word of it at the front desk.
Our conclusion: for a 5-star hotel is not the price-performance ratio.

Great breakfast, great location!

Great breakfast, great location!
Facade is not very appealing. Rooms are small, but ok. Unfortunately, our bathroom fittings were not in good condition and extremely stiff due to heavy calcification.

The central location, the very nice service and the good breakfast buffet make up for a lot.

We were only there one night. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Actually, that would be five stars but unfortunately the dinner, which was in buffet form, only lukewarm to cold what a five star hotel should be an absolute no go. The peak of audacity was, however, at 21 clock in the spa. Above the hotel pool, a large hatch can be opened in the roof. Even though we were in the pool with semi-nude people lying on the loungers, this hatch was opened in the middle of winter. It poured icy air into the bathing area. Incidentally, the staff is at 21 clock closing time. So you can get rid of your bathers very quickly even though the spa area is open until 10pm. The breakfast was great again. Too bad - such a hotel stands and falls with its staff.

There are really very good Steigenberger hotels, in particular the Handelshof in Leipzig, the Frankfurter Hof, but also houses like the Hotel des Saxe in Dresden or the Steigenberger at the Chancellery in Berlin. The Steigenberger at Los Angeles Platz, however, has left nothing out during my stay to stress and annoy me as a guest and leader of a conference massively. To start with the positive: The location in walking distance to Kudamm is pretty good. The room was ok, the breakfast o.k. That's it. The architecture of this prestigious prefabricated building is deliberately scary. The food is a maximum average. The vegetarian and vegan offers are boring and uncreative. The service is indeed partly committed, but sometimes crass inadequate. For example, we asked for a quick serve at a three-course dinner ordered many hours earlier on the evening of the conference. This was also clearly agreed. After over two hours sitting at the table, we were still allowed to wait for the desserts - which is why most of them just left. Upon my question at the check-in on the opening hours of the gym I was told: "Until 22.00 clock." In fact, the area was completely closed: "under construction." In a sent to the hotel, correctly addressed and hair exactly receiver-specified package with important documents the hotel refused to accept, so it had to be sent again by express. A one-time process! In fact, no half day went by without stupid surprises and waiting for the service. I would never book this hotel as a private traveler, especially since the Pullman Schweizerhof is an excellent alternative in the immediate vicinity.
P.S.
The answer from the hotel below is almost funny again: it was, as it says our "request for a speedy service at the event evening agreed". How generous! However, we had two evenings, chose the menu for all participants several hours earlier, came - contrary to what the hotel now claims - exactly at the specified time and then allowed two (!) Hours to wait, although not even until then the desserts were served. And the "misunderstanding" with the parcel service from the hotel not accepted package with important documents, is also original. What can one misunderstand when accepting a package for a guest?
