I posted this same review on their Corporate IHG website and it was deleted for being, "irrelevant information provided". Oddly enough their corporate site has only 4+ star reviews. Obviously I was a bit too honest and because I dont like being silenced, I am posting to all review locations.
I booked a studio non-smoking suite and planned to stay 22 days for business. I stayed 3 nights and couldnt get out fast enough.
The training of their Hotel Clerks is horrible. I walked in carrying 3 arms full of luggage and was greeted by a slouching dis-interested desk Clerk. No greetings, no offers to help with bags, just looked at me. Anyhow, she didnt provide any amenity details nor do much but hand me a key. I asked about Wifi and breakfast. Was told the Wifi is fast and breakfast starts at 0630.
The room itself was clean. The Maid staff are excellent and obviously trained very well. Only problem was they gave me a smoking room and it reaked. I am a non smoker and so this was an obvious problem. I called Slouchy at the front desk and she said it was MY error when I booked and she can look for another room the next day. Great, I thought Customers were always right? Oh well.
The Wifi they provide is from ONE access point, which is probably down in the main office. Reason that is not good is, my room was on the outskirts of the building on 4th floor and the connection was an intermittent 55-65%. Netflix wouldnt stream, iPad would take 5 mins to load 1 page, smart phone would not connect and PS3 Network was a no go.
The next morning I left at 0545 and noticed people eating breakfast in a small maybe 500 square foot room. I was told the breakfast was at 0630? I wasnt sure and couldnt ask a clerk because there were none around. So I asked a big hairy guy eating eggs and he said, "Eat up Chief, its free." I then proceeded to eat the free breakfast. I served 12 years in the Military and I know cheap powdered eggs, frozen bacon, and canned gravy when I see it. No thanks!
Lastly and the last straw.. there were no curtains in my room (436) on 4th floor. Just the sheer thing, which blocks absolutely no sunlight. I asked a desk clerk if all the rooms are missing curtains and she looked at me like I was asking her what the square root of 8 trillion is, "uhh believe so.." Sleeping here was impossible, so I checked out and went elsewhere.
Summary: Terrible Customer Service, No darkness in room, HORRIBLE WiFi, and "canned" breakfast.
