What a great place. So much to see. Totally worth the $18. Reserve early to get to the crown.
It's a good trip for the price. The statue looks small when compared to the buildings on shore. But the close up view is impressive.
Other than a close photo op and tour it s best to just take a ferry tour.
Truly an amazing experience. It is absolutely beautiful
Do the nyc taxi boat and if you are lucky you will get Lee, he makes the experience worth it. Well worth the money
It is the most desired visited site in the USA though there are lots of other things are there in the USA.
The majestic Lady Liberty. Prepare to queue for just about everything, from bathroom, to food, to scaling up the statue of liberty.
You gotta see it at least once right? It was a good experience, the view from the boat is great first of all. And second of all I was surprised by how much there actually is to see there. Not only can one walk around the statue but I would highly recommend going to the museum and reading up the history of the statue. I learned quite a bit! I would recommend going in the morning to beat the bigger crowds. 8/10
Well for those looking to see the Statue of Liberty, this is it. It's worth noting that Liberty Island doesn't particularly have too much to offer. Other than the statue, there is a museum which has a lot of great information and artifacts but it isn't super large. You can spend a decent chunk of time there but don't expect to spend all day on Liberty Island.
You'll likely spend more time on Ellis Island than Liberty Island.
Be prepared it's a bit cold sometimes. We had a lot of fun walking around the island. There were some individuals that wandered off and got lost so the patrol officers didn't notice that. There are rest areas there so you could get a snack. The place is overall nice
A must visit ICON when in NYC! Buy tickets online and try to arrive early in the day. Amazing views of Manhattan are an extra plus!!
Once in a lifetime must do. Overcrowded and super touristy but cool to say you've been.
Amazing site, and very cool place to visit. Nothing tooo exciting for a family to do, youd likely have kids complaining about not wanting to read plaques on the walls but has tons of information and is always very clean anywhere you go. Sadly the statue itself was less exciting than It has been built up to be but still cool to say I have seen it.
After all those years going on the Verrazano Narrows Bridge as a little boy & asking my parents where is she .
I finally got to see her up close in person for the first time. It was a Great experience that I shared with my family. I also went to Ellis Island as well which I really liked.
Great experience, from the ferry ride to the climbing up the stairs to get to the pedestal (all 196 stairs!! ) .
Highly recommend if you're coming in from out of town!
There are 2 security checkpoints. Dont bring picket knives etc .
Allow extra time for clearing security
Truly everyone, citizens and visitors need to come here, it is a cornerstone of Americana. Don't forget Ellis island to complete the day.
One of the most well known landmark in the world. You re going to get unforgettable view of New York City here. Great atmosphere, and decent price to come to this landmark. One tip that you have to remember, never ever go with or accept any kind of offer outside Liberty Statue because they re there to scam you! Go straight to the Liberty Statue ticket booth near the shore, and you will see a line of people waiting to buy the ticket there. The average price is about $20 per adult to Ellie Island and Liberty Statue. Don t hesitant to visit Ellie Island if you have plenty of time. One more thing, you could go up to the head of the statue if you want more view of the city, but you have to pay a bit more. Lastly, Enjoy your trip!
Do not miss this new attraction. Some artifacts that were previously exhibited under the pedestal museum are now moved to this separate and new structure along with many new exhibits. Folks who value US citizenship will know the true value and will enjoy the history behind each exhibit.
I had a great time on my statue of liberty tour. It was even better than imagined. Wasn't over pack with people and they made sure I knew when and were to be before departing and arriving
Great place to take the whole family or a wonderful day trip.
Best place to go if you have never been you learm so much about the statue and the land it sits in. Never a disappointment.
This island is so surreal. The history between the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island wow! There is not a bad view, the island is going through some renovations and a new museum being constructed but it is all out of the way and not a major issue for guest.
I still cannot believe we were here, I tried explaining the history to my girls and hope one day they will truly understand the history of this majestic place!
As it is one of national monument of USA. So it is worth visiting this island.
Cruise services are excellent. Island is well maintained and on top pictures with Lady Liberty will be unforgettable.
An incredible monument and symbol of liberty in the USA. Having seen pictures and videos of this icon in books, TV, film all my life, it was amazing to actually come and visit for myself. We didn't go up to the crown, but went to the level just below and that was absolutely fine. The stairs up to the crown looked rather cramped and wouldn't suit anyone with any degree of claustrophobia! The views from the balcony level were absolutely fine.
Good Historical Place. The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor within New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the More
Nice place to visit i had alot fun. The tour also takes you to ellis island is alot of walking so be prepared. You will need alot of money there is alot of store and places to eat on the island.
Historic and exciting place to visit! Best on a tour boat around the statue.
The most mesmerizing statue with unskeptically magnificent from inside out.
It's so moving to be there. Such a awe inspiring place to remind us of how important our freedoms are. And what this place means to so many millions of Americans throughout our history. Makes one stop to think about what our country represents to so many.
Suggest one buy's tickets in advance to avoid lines. There are audio tours available for both stops. If you wish to enter the "Statue of Liberty" we were told the tour ticket don't cover that entrance. The museum on the property was well done and worth see the Liberty story.
Ellis Island was fascinating and has audio guided tours.
Gift store and restaurant on property.
nice place to see via ferry from Manhattan, i tried to reach via land but unfortunately i was not luck to figure out how can do that! since it was my 2nd day in new york , but anyway being that close to Mrs Eilis was great joy especially when the tour guide told us the whole story of this amazing statue ..great memories from march 2013
Fun to visit. Interesting self guided tour. Book much in advance for pedestal or crown tickets!
Great history Great views, from queueing up for the ferry at the start & finish. You can hire a locker to store your coats & rucksacks. The walks around are fantastic. There is a lift up to the top & steps down.....(nearly 200 I think). An early start is best as the ferry across get quite packed, first ferry from battery park south ferry station @9-30 then every half hour. Pick a nice day because the views are stunning across the river.
It was great to finally make it to the monument. I was disappointed that it costs so much to access different areas, but I'm sure that it is expensive to maintain it.
Great iconic place to visit in New York. The ride takes a few minutes. Be aware that to get into the boats you need to pass security very similar to the airport one. Although the queues look huge, they move quite fast, they are boats arriving every 15 minutes so you don t need to wait too long. I believe the boat company should think how to improve boarding since it take quite long to get in or out the boat
Wonderful trip to the Statue, I loved the museum the audio guide, everything is very well explained. You can actually see the Miss Libertys face inside the museum, it s definitely a must do in NY
Crowded place but worth it. Full disclaimer: it's a lot smaller than it looks in pictures. You'll spend no more than 45 minutes here, and most of time will be trying to get a good picture amongst all the people walking around. You'll have a great view of lower Manhattan and Battery Park. If you want tickets to the pedestal and/or the crown book it with plenty and I do mean plenty of time. The government only lets a limited amount of people into the crown and the pedestal per day and they are usually booked weeks in advance so plan accordingly so you are not disappointed.
The Statue of Liberty is recognized as the universal symbol of freedom and democracy.....
This place is amazing and it's out of this world u have to visit this place
An experience you should definitely try when you are in New York. If you would like to go up to the grown or even to the pedestal you have to book a ticket before coming here because it is impossible to do it in place. Have fun!
The most historic place in the world. Definitely worth the visit. The only one problem with the tour organizers. If you buy the ticket after 2 pm, they have to give you the boats departure schedule. Ask them about this list, cause you can miss the travel to the Ellis Island, as we did. So as result, we paid 18 dollars, just for the ride to the Liberty Island. We even didn't have a chance to visit a museum.
The landmark which every human wans to view with own Eyes. Beautiful and highly safe efficiently managed loved the place.. Wheelchair friendly Child friendly awesome food awesome people
Awesome. America. You need to do this at least once. Statue cruises was great.
The whole of this experience was awesome.
The boat trip was awesome, you'll get some amazing views.
The statue itself is fabulous and one can walk all the way around it.
I would advice booking tickets in as far advance as you can as they do sell out.
The place is very beautiful and well managed..
I'm glad I got the chance to visit this historical landmark during my first visit to NYC. I had a city pass and it included one round-trip Statue Cruises ferry ride with stops at Liberty Island and Ellis Island. I got on the ferry from Battery Park and it was crowded. I had to wait for an hour to get on the ferry. It was really hot so, I didn't spend much time roaming on the island. Liberty Island is a great spot to capture the skyline of Manhattan. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and clothing according to the weather. Crown tickets have to be purchased separately in advance. I can now check this place off my bucket list.
What more can you say about America's most iconic symbol of freedom? Amazing!!!
Great part of history to visit. The reason why it's just 3 stars it's because they make no effort to make this better for the visitors. They make you wait outside in the sun, for close to an hour in my case, and no shades or any form of protection for your kids. Bring your umbrellas and water for the wait.
Just visited the Statue of Liberty I really enjoyed the whole trip. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are amazing.

Come on, it's *LADY LIBERTY*! How can you not love it?! We purchased the Pedistal tour, and went up to just below the Statue itself. Excellent views all around, and wonderful museum area. If you're an American and have never visited, this is a MUST DEE if you're in New York City!
On a pleasant day, it was a nice place to visit. Boat ride from NJ side goes to Ellis Island first, then to the Statue. Visitors are now allowed to go up to the crown of Statue if tickets are booked in advance. Usually, tickets to the crown are booked about two to three months in advance. For adults, tickets to the Statue cost $18.50 + $3 to the crown. Parking on NJ side is free for 2 hours. To go to the Statue and come back leisurely takes more than 2 hours, so paid parking is advisable. Paid parking is $7 per day.
We had a great time here! The tour was great and it was very surreal seeing the statue up close and personal! It is a must for anyone visiting NY! I would definitely go back!
Beautiful! My daughter made me climb up! But we had fun
I visited Liberty Island with my grandson. We did the Tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I have been here before but I did the Tour for my grandson. Parking Garages near the Ferry's. Liberty Island still a wonderful place to visit. Very educational especially for children. There is an elevator but it has been out of order. There is alot of walking involved especially if you go into the pedestal of the Statue or the crown of Lady Liberty. Also tickets for the crown are sold out so you must purchase approx 6 months ahead of time. Beautiful Views as expected!
We really enjoyed ourselves. The trip was worth it. We got to walk around and the ferry trip was fun with lots to see. The only problem was I didn't know you need a reservation to go up into the statue.
Amazing to get so close! Nice little trip round the islands despite the weather
This is a great memorial in the New York area. It is a great trip by the ferry and it will take half an hour including the stop in Elise island.
Watch out for the cruise you are purchasing. A few of them make it only the half way to the Statue.
It's not a place to give reviews on it
And you should see these kind of places and enjoy instead of searching reviews
Beautiful day nice hike up to the top with panoramic views of all the Burroughs in New York.
DO NOT take metal refillable water bottles, back packs or food. You will need to pay for lockers if you do. Lockers are $2.00 per hour cash and don't work well!!!
Plan on 2 hours for Ellis Island and 2 hours for Liberty Island minimum!!! We missed Ellis Island because we didn't allocate the proper amount of time:(
Very cool. Area is a lot larger than you would think. You can walk all the way around the statue and look out at the city. Gift shop is cool too
Not to miss this during anyone who is visiting USA. Wonderful and awesome experience.
Audio guide is good(Chinese voice is not).
Foods are great.
Had a great time lived iNH a very long time and never took the time out to.see the status but finally had the opportunity to share this wonder with my family.
Loved this place. So much history and beautiful view of New York City skyline.
Great statue, historical place, one of the famous attractions in the world, you can get by cruise, you can get inside the statue but be ready for the long que. But it is worth it.
Fun for the family on the trip to New York I would recommend going on the trip to the Statue of Liberty!
It's good to see. Long time I was waiting for it. And I am thankful that I had a chance.
An awe inspiring piece of american history. Tours are fun, but the FREE Staten Island Ferry sails right past it every 1/2 gr, 24 hrs a day. Something to keep in mind for those on a budget.
This was awesome and just reflecting back in what I have learned over the years this would have been amazing to see when this was used a main port of entry.
A must see of a Worldwide known iconic symbol of the promise of freedom for immigrants when they first arrived from fireign shores. If you want to go up yo the crown, you must book several months in advance! We lost out by a few weeks by not doing it and could only go as far as the pedestal.
Is funny because supposed to be something big but ny always is growing for this reason the statue looks like little
It was on an island which folled by a good and informative tour with a brief history on each point of the island relating to the statue.
The monument is an amazing experience to see as you have seen and heard it on the TV.
Statue of Liberty is a must-have sightseeing for all NYC and New Jersey tourists. It is pretty colorit place where you will feel a real history mark. What I did is I bought a small Statue of Liberty as souvenir and made a photo where all 3 were included: Statue of Liberty, Me with raised hand where souvenir Statue of Liberty was situated :) Nice, memorable photo. Visit Statue of Liberty for bright impressions and good memories!
Good value for money, but make sure you book in advance to avoid VERY long queues. Very enjoyable day out. Free audio guides nice addition. Once on island you can take any boat back and aren t rushed.
Always a joy visiting this place!!! How can a person rate less then 5 stars..
Enjoyed the ferry ride to Lady Liberty. It allowed us to take great pictures. I enjoyed walking around the statue and Ellis Island.
A must see when you're in New York. Lady Liberty is a symbol of Hope, Love and Freedom not only in the United States but to all Nations. She looks a little small in person but very inspiring. I'm not really a patriotic person but seeing her kinda humbles you and makes you real proud to be an American. With all what's happening in the world today we need her symbol. Our leaders needs to be humble.
Tips:
Tickets are purchased in Castle Clinton in Battery Park
You need to reserve at least 2 months ahead of time to get her crown access....a week for pedestal access....no reservation needed for Liberty Island Grounds
Dont forget a the view from Manhattan
In 2019 the new Statue of Liberty Museum will open...the Copper color near the roof of the building is what use to be the color of the statue before it oxidized and turned green
Amazing experience. Highly recommend embarking the ferry from Liberty Park in NJ, there was much less of a line than the New York ferries. You can spend as much or as little time as you want at each island, just be sure you catch the last ferry back to your destination!
universal symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty is America's most familiar icon and the largest statue in the world. Standing 152 ft in New York Harbor, visitors can admire the statue from various points around the city, particularly Battery Park, or take a ferry right to the statue. For people who plan to go out to the statue, options include grounds tickets, pedestal tickets, or crown tickets, which allow different levels of access to the site. Anyone who plans on going inside the Statue of Liberty is encouraged to make advanced ticket reservations.
Peace, Unity and friendship
To go near crown ...have to pre-book tickets online/at the counter
Atleast 30 days before your plan
Great historical place. Tip: get a free tour with headphones and a tape with interesting information around the statue.
Icon of America with French design! Unique... it is a must to see! And we recommend the fast food nearby, as well !
Park rangers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Good sense of humor. The store staff and cafeteria staff could use a lot of help in the way of treating people!!!! They were stemming on rude! The Lady Liberty Cruise boat crews were friendly and helpful as well. Thanks to all who made my wife's and my first trip here in 63 years so enjoyable. Please help the other staff.
Very nice to see, but takes a long time to be on the island.
