I had such an amazing time visiting. She's so beautiful and I had the chance to go into the crown. It's a long double helix stairs you have to climb but it's worth it. The old torch is displayed and they are currently building a museum for it. I'm looking forward to returning and seeing the building fully complete. The gift shop has a lot of options and I had fun shopping in there too.

This is one of the best tourist stops I've ever been to in my life. It's so cool to think that my great grandparents might have seen her when they first came to America. She is such a beautiful statue! I
A great visit!! An amazing site to be when in New York. It is very easy and fast to get there. The way to get there by the ferrie is very comfortable and nice. You can take great pictures when in the boat or on the island. I encourage you to go up to the top of the statue, there is a museum with the history of it. A must go place!
Such an atmosphere! Se took a ferry from New York to Liberty Island, and even the view of the ferry was unforgettable. A piece of American history described in details in a museum inside the complex. This place definitely belongs to the MUST SEE site in New York.
Awesome. My family and I visited on a resent trip to New York. It has been something I wanted to do since I was a child and was not disappointed. The panoramic view of New York was incredible once you get up top, not to mention the view of the bay. Unfortunately we only got to go to the first tier since we had our infant son with us but can't wait to see the view from the top next time we visit.
It was a great experience. Since it's been on my bucket list for a while, I was not disappointed. Seeing it up close was fantastic. While we didn't have time to go into the pedestal, it was still awesome. The Statue Museum was also very interesting and gave a very good understanding of the Statue's creation. My mom was in a scooter and things were very accessible, including the ferry.
This is a one and done for me. Security and ferry to get there is about an hour long process. If you're going, get tickets in advance or stay on the ferry and observe from afar.
Its an awesome sight to look at this great standing monument in front of your eyes. The best way is to ride on the free ferry from stathen island station and statue will come across your right side. Go out on the deck on upper floors and take pictures or videos while enjoying the ride. There is one cafe on the ferry too and the ride is highly safe for families, elderly or people with special needs etc.
The ferry ride to the island was nice and to see the GREAT Statue of Liberty was awesome ! Great view of Manhattan from the island. Nice food and lots of souvenirs at the gift shop.
Its a obvious must see in New York. However I found central park, Ellis island, and time square to be way more enjoyable. There are 2 gift shops right next to each other, and a place to eat. The boat ride there is very nice and a great time for taking pictures of the skyline of the city!
The Statue of Liberty reminds me of Africa, it is a dangerous place. The landmark may look nice at first but once you get inside, it takes a turn for the worst! I was terrified and nearly died! Don't come here unless you want your children to die! Other than that of course, 5 stars, will come back in 10 years.
Another New York landmark which needs no introduction. You've seen it so many times on TV and in pictures, it's really something to see it in person. Unfortunately it was closed for renovation so we didn't get to go up into the crown. Despite that, it was still well worth the visit.
I visited this iconic place from NY. For new comers, go to Battery Park and purchase your tickets at Status of Liberty Cruise tickets at Castle Clinton. DO NOT purchase tickets from the person selling outside, u will end up getting cheated. If you just want to see from ferry do not spend money on tickets, there is a free ferry from Battery Park, get the info from the park building. If you want to go to crown, purchase your tickets earlier and get it confirmed. Statue of liberty, lake and Manhattan view is splendid from the island.
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
Historical. Seagulls are bad in the eating area. All they did was fly around are food! Put the eating area inside, man those seagulls were crazy. But otherwise, it was great.
This is such ana amazing place! Its so fun for kids, fort teens adults everyone really! There's so much you can do here! GOD Bless Y'all have an amazing day!
Such a lovely touristy attraction. A classic, timeless place for locals and tourists. The view of lady liberty is incredible but so is the view of surrounding areas. It's so nice. Definitely check out the gift shop, they have some cool stuff.
Went here got the most romantic and brilliant views of the city! you have a great view of the whole city, as well as a close up view of the New York sign. Recommended to avoid standing in long lines or be rejected, you can book your tickets online.
Best advice, take the New Jersey Ferry and get their early. I didn't stand in a single line the whole time I was there and I had the crown all to myself for 10 minutes before the next few people came. Be ready to hike stairs though!
The statue rapidly became a landmark. Originally, it was a dull copper color, but shortly after 1900 a green patina, also called verdigris, caused by the oxidation of the copper skin, began to spread. As early as 1902 it was mentioned in the press; by 1906 it had entirely covered the statue. Believing that the patina was evidence of corrosion, Congress authorized US$62,800 (equivalent to $1,787,000 in 2019) for various repairs, and to paint the statue both inside and out. There was considerable public protest against the proposed exterior painting. The Army Corps of Engineers studied the patina for any ill effects to the statue and concluded that it protected the skin, "softened the outlines of the Statue and made it beautiful." The statue was painted only on the inside. The Corps of Engineers also installed an elevator to take visitors from the base to the top of the pedestal. The statue is situated in Upper New York Bay on Liberty Island south of Ellis Island, which together comprise the Statue of Liberty National Monument. Both islands were ceded by New York to the federal government in 1800. As agreed in an 1834 compact between New York and New Jersey that set the state border at the bay's midpoint, the original islands remain New York territory though located on the New Jersey side of the state line. Liberty Island is one of the islands that are part of the borough of Manhattan in New York. Land created by reclamation added to the 2.3-acre (0.93 ha) original island at Ellis Island is New Jersey territory.
No charge is made for entrance to the national monument, but there is a cost for the ferry service that all visitors must use,[180] as private boats may not dock at the island. A concession was granted in 2007 to Statue Cruises to operate the transportation and ticketing facilities, replacing Circle Line, which had operated the service since 1953. The ferries, which depart from Liberty State Park in Jersey City and the Battery in Lower Manhattan, also stop at Ellis Island when it is open to the public, making a combined trip possible. All ferry riders are subject to security screening, similar to airport procedures, prior to boarding.
Visitors intending to enter the statue's base and pedestal must obtain a complimentary museum/pedestal ticket along with their ferry ticket. Those wishing to climb the staircase within the statue to the crown purchase a special ticket, which may be reserved up to a year in advance. A total of 240 people per day are permitted to ascend: ten per group, three groups per hour. Climbers may bring only medication and cameras lockers are provided for other items and must undergo a second security screening - Wikipedia
Wonder of the world. Well managed monument and the park for safety and convenience of the tourists. Nice guidance is provided by the speaker gadgets provided at the entry. Boat journey to and fro is comfortable and convenient even for elders. Snacks are available on the boat. Overall nice trip.
Buyinv tickets online through them and ordering the pedestal package was a good deal. It's faster than buying them there. There are scheduled times online but the ferries run often. The ferries are huge: Three levels, bathrooms and a place to buy food for a higher price than normal. A hot dog was $3.25 and Battery Park they were $3.00 but as you walk further away it can deop down to $2. Pros: You get a ferris ride to see the best World Wonder ever! Lol. Cons: It takes forever!!! It takes forever getting people in-and-out of the ferries. They really need a faster way to do everything from the security checks, to the $0.25 lockers if you have backpacks or food. We skipped Ellis Island and we still managed 2.5hrs. Prepare to be there for 3 hours if you want to really see everything there is and take elevators up there as well rather than walk the stairs.
What can you say, Liberty city? This statue is a heart of that city. Really impressive and awesome! The tourists area is also well planned. You can have a good lunch here as well as buy some stuff (mostly related to the statue) as a souvenir for those folks who've never been there :)
Went during a drizzling weather. Totally worthwhile. Ensure that you leave for liberty Island by 2pm at the most in order to be able to cover ellis Island while returning.
I love visiting famous landmarks especially this one it is so amazing. You need to bring a drink bottle if you are going to climb it because it is so high
I love American history. So i like to visit historical land Mark's. This is certainly a time tested one that has been taken care of. A real lady of beauty. Enjoy your trip to see our lady of liberty soon.
The Statue of Liberty is more than a monument. She is a beloved friend, a living symbol of freedom to millions around the world. The museum exhibits are a tribute to the people who created her, to those who built and paid for her, to the ideals she represents, and to the hopes she inspires.
The 26,000 square foot museum features three gallery spaces, each one meant to inspire visitors and educate them about the Statue of Liberty in interactive and thought-provoking ways. The museum features a walkthrough theater that immerses visitors into the Statue of Liberty s creation and construction and even offers a cinematic fly through tour of the Statue. In the Engagement Gallery, visitors see how the Statue was constructed and have many interactive ways to explore its symbolic meaning. The Inspiration Gallery invites visitors to share their own self-portrait and a collage of pictures to create an ever-changing visitor mosaic that reflects a collective view of liberty. Visitors can also see the original torch on display in a glass-enclosed wing with a view of the Statue behind it.
Great place to visit a lot of history on display. Get the package deal to go up to the crown of the statue YOLO. It's allot of stairs to walk up. The views are amazing!
Beautiful This Famous&Millionaires And Gilberto Lima Artist The creator, The N 1 in the world, With more drawings of Famous people, Asking for a opportunity to put all this Draws in an Museum. Thank you all. Diamond luxury Gallery By Gilberto Lima Artist
It's iconic and not to be missed. Arranged a guided tour ahead of time that was well worth it. Best recommendation is to be on the very first ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. The crowds and lines only get bigger and unfortunately can diminish your ability to take it all in.
A wonderful experience for the whole family. It was so much fun to walk around the island. The museum in the base of the monument was interesting. My son did not enjoy going up over 200 flights of steps and absolutely refused to go outside the statue. The views were amazing! It was pretty neat to touch the bolts holding the statue to the base of the monument. There are neat facts as you walk up the statue. We did not enjoy having to go through 2 security check points with 3 older kids and 1 toddler with a stroller, but understand why the extra security is necessary. Please make sure you have your printed tickets out and you'll move through faster. No food or drinks, but they have 50 cent lockers to put stuff in and a stroller parking area. In the end, it was worth it to experience a monument that has meant so much to so many. Definitely recommend!
Very nice but make sure you make reservations to get into the pedestal and/or the statue in advance, otherwise you just walk around outside of the island. The boat ride is nice and everyone who works there is very nice!!
A must place to visit in New York. The ferry takes you right up to the island and the ride is nice. You can capture beautiful pictures of the statue from the ferry. We had the pedestal tickets and the views from the pedestal are amazing.I liked the gift store on the island which is next to the cafe. The store has a variety of gift items at reasonable prices.
A must visit place for everyone visiting United states. Booking a few months ahead definitely helps to get a ticket to visit all the way up to the crown of the statue. They could help the line be more organized in the battery park ferry pick up point. Ellis island has so much rich history.
Still trying to visit, sad thing is I grew up very close by in Elizabeth, if I had gone when I was a child I could have gone up to the torch before they replaced it and sealed it up in a building behind glass on the ground. One day I hope to visit the only time I tried I just missed the last ferry and may vacation was over. :(
Unbelievable!!! The climb to the crown is worth it but make sure you book in advance as it was booked out 3-4 months in advance. Also the climb to the crown is difficult and has many stairs... so be prepared. Climb to the pedestal is easy for everyone and helped by a lift for those who need it.
An iconic US national monument with a tallest statue installed in the liberty Island at New York in the Hudson River. There is a cruise ship services from New Jersy side as well as New York side. The ticket taken at one side can be valid to return on the same side or otherwise also but one need to get in to the correct cruise. To enter the statue inside a separate on line ticket needed which in clouds a documentary film about the statue. Others can go round the statue along the park.Enough good canteen and rest rooms are there for vising people.
Statue of liberty ... what a place what an amazing place they built what a wonderful time and view ... one word AWESOME ... the ship makes it so special trip ... I recommend any person to visit it along with time square and union square of Manhattan
Such a cool experience to see the Statue of Liberty up close. The new museum is very well done and informative. I learned about the whole life of the statue from the original idea of liberty and unity, to the innovative design and construction, to the significance of the human spirit it still represents today.
The lines and general crowdedness extended the outing a bit, but did not detract from the experience.
It was a great experience for us. My oldest daughter has been wanting to come here for quite some time. Last week, we finally got the chance to go, and it certainly did not disappoint. It's much larger in scale up close, than I remember seeing it in my youthood several years back. Be prepared to wait in line though, sometimes for as long as an hour or more. However, our visit here was clearly worth the wait. God bless Lady Liberty!
A must visit place when you are in NYC. do visit Ellis island as well. Read through the history it s amazing. You learn a lot about how things used to work in past. Need 2 months advance booking if you want to go till crown. Better visit from New Jersey side because of less crowd. Helpful especially while returning back. They have large parking lot from New Jersey side. They charge $7 for a day.
If you visit New York, this is the number one place you have to see. We enjoyed our trip here. The food at cafeteria is reasonable. Nice and clean as well. Informative and professional staff.
Lots of stuff to see inside the statue, we even walked the stair inside.Good experience! However for the senior and little children, I don't recommend to take the stair to the upper floor. Elevator is the best option.
Super Super HIGHLY Recommend! I recommend to order your tickets online so you won't be needed to wait in line to buy them. The ferry departs from Battery Park. For 18.50$ you'll get to see the famous statue from up close on Liberty Island and tour around it. Audio tour is also available and included in the price. When you think you're done with the statue just wait for the ferry, it'll take you to Ellis Island, you can choose to enter it and explore the Museum of Immigration or should you just stay on the boat and wait for it to fill up and continue back to NYC. Enjoy one of the most iconic views of the US!!
So glad to have visited the statue while visiting my family in PA. Our family rode the ferry in from Hoboken, NJ to Manhattan then walked our way down to the ferry to the statue and it was well worth not leaving straight from NJ to the statue. When we got their we had plenty of time to get pictures but the crown tours need to be planned out Well in advance.
It was a nice experience. Put your walking shoes on and wear something comfortable. Please be ready for the crowds. The ferry was packed if you arrive early you can get a sear, if not be ready to stand. BRACE Yourself for exiting the boat you will be pushed by inpatient people going No where fast as I like to say. Overall it was fun walking around the island taking pictures, stopping to feel the cool breeze watching the tide hit the surrounding wall.
Historical site with the statue of liberty from France they have these phone that can translate captions under pictures and give a brief summary into different languages when you press the number, it can be very crowded and you can only take the ferry that you have to pay for based on age to get there. There is a gift store bathrooms, museum, telescopes to look off the island. And if you want to enter the statue you'd have to pay many months in advance (like 12 tbh). And the prices are higher if you want to get into the crown and a little less if you want to go on the pedestal. But you can take pictures at the base with the statue behind you.
