Okay okay okay - far above my budget...
But absolutely worth it.
Amazing ambience, food to die for, best waiter I've ever experienced, and great music!!!

Their General Tso's dumplings were out of this world. I can't stop talking about it.
I would have a birthday cake made of those
You can also literally eat the Braised beef short ribs with a spoon. Seriously. Immaculate.

I wanted to give them 4 stars because of how expensive everything was but it is so worth it!

We walked out. We arrived at the time of our reservation and had to wait in bar area for quite some time. When we were finally seated it was at a table scrunched in the corner. Way too small even by NYC standards. We sat for an interminable period of time with no wait staff even acknowledging our existence. After a wasted 20 minutes we got up and left and had a wonderful dinner at Fig & Olive.

Wonderful, splendid and stunning. Everything about this place is exactly that. The food is so well prepared, you must try their Ribs and the Pepper beef. Shrimp toast is out of this world. The service is impeccable, waiters really know their menu and make some great recommendations. Lots of attention from staff, always at your service without being overbearing, they really strike the right balance. The location is just magical, you re sitting in a sunken room in such beautiful surroundings, checkout their gorgeous chandeliers. Be sure to reserve in advance, worth every penny and considering the price, excellent value for such quality.

The design of the restaurant is great and very nice for everyone. The staff is very nice and the service was great. The food came within 10 minutes after ordering, and the portions are just right. Overall the food is delightful to eat and feels amazing on your taste buds. My personal favorites are the juicy, flavor-filled, perfectly cooked lamb chops, and also the tender, juicy, and amazing ox tail dumplings. Overall it is a great experience for everyone and I believe that anyone will enjoy the food and the atmosphere.

The food was good but not enough to merit a return visit. It has a very dark interior - that's ok for summer but .... Finally, the waiter's behavior felt condescending. I have lots of experience with a variety of cuisines. No need for hand holding. He got less haughty as the meal progressed.

The biggest draw is the atmosphere. It's hip, but still pleasant, and also a little bit stunning in how expansive the place feels (the central areas ceiling's are 2 or 3 stories high).

The food was good (I especially liked the black cod), though not amazing given the prices (appetizers ~$12, entrees ~$30, sides ~$10, desserts ~$10), and the portions were on the small side. The food is served family-style though, which is fun =) (at least I think so)

Made a reservation and came about 10 minutes before my res time, i was told i will be heading to a table shortly, guess what, i had to wait for 40 minutes to be seated and thats because i kept asking when i would be seated and why its taking time, honestly, if i wasn't with friends i would have left after few minutes of waiting, and my experience have been really bad at the restaurant, very slow service, attitude from most of the staff, food came a bit colder than it should be

I don't usually review places unless it really pisses me off, and this is one of the places that i will never come back and never will i recommend it
I guess you should book at a time and come to the restaurant after half an hour of your booking so you can be seated within a reasonable time

Hand a wonderful experience, from the beautiful decor and the amazing space. From the outside you cant really tell what it is but when you walk in it's a whole new world. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly and was very flavorful. Would highly recommend!

We went for the birthday party. There were 16 people all together but apparently there were not enough plates prepared even though table was reserved for 16. As a result of that there was huge mess and nobody was interested in helping us with finding seat for my friend. Tables were separated so we had to groups of people. Music was so loud that we couldn't even talk. Food was okey but not exceptional. We had a tasting menu as for party but it was very little food which resulted in going to a diffrent restaurat afterwards. As we were preparing to pay waitress told us we have to vacate the table as the next party is already waiting. This is first time ever that we were asked to leave the table, especially after spending over $3,000.00 for the party. Afterwards we went to the bar and my friend accidentally spilled a drink over the counter. Waitress saw that but decided to ignore it and not take any action. We cleaned everything ourself. To summit all up,place is loud, extremely expensive for the food they serve and our experience in general was very bad. Do not recommend.

Located just outside the Chelsea Markets, Buddakan appeared to be THE place to be for dinner and drinks on a Thursday night in New York. Everything from the entrance, welcome, bar, service, food, and vibe was terrific and we'd definitely return. Perfect for a nice night out in Chelsea.

3rd time here - always a awesome experience and consistently great food. Might be a bit touristy but defiantly worth it.
Two recommendations are the general tso's dim sum and the lamb chops.

Food is varied and interesting yet standard and offers mass appeal. Sea bass is standout. Service is abundantly solicitous and accommodating. Great place to take a large group. Space is dark, loud, and trendy. Continues to be a perennial fave.

It's loud and super dark.
The food is fusian that's never actually good on either side of the spectrum. We has the family style order for our large party of 12. The only outstanding items was the edamame dumplings. Everything else was weak.

I don't recommend.

Nothing to say about the location: whoever goes to Buddakan knows him. Of course, it is imagined that he will dine in the large central hall and, instead, unless "right knowledge", he will find himself eating from the side. But it doesn't matter: nice people around and nice local anyway. Pretentious cocktails but good cmq. Good food, fair variety. The waiter has misled us a little about the quantities (those who define SIDES for me are first and foremost, and I'm not one who eats little). price aligned to expectations (100 dollars are needed, if you want to win some money are not enough). Experience to try.

This is where you go if you want to impress someone. Incredible interior design (just wow) and service. Food: top notch. My favorite part was actually that they have non-alcoholic cocktails. THANK you.

The dishes are meant to be shared but be warned that portions are small (if you ve got 5 people, a dish will be a couple bites each). For a date, it s plenty. Someone got proposed to at the table next to us it s that kind of place.

The food was good, the place is lovely. They have different dinning areas which is great, and also more than enough space between you and the other table, so you don't feel cramp up like other restaurants in the city. They also have a bar area which is very nice. The staff is very good.

We all were a bit disappointed. Long wait at the bar despite reservation, but more importantly the food was not really exciting. Monkfish and rock shrimps were a positive surprise but the rest didn t blow us away and we left slightly disappointed. There are better fancy alternatives in the city.

Amazing setting!

Amazing setting!
Cocktails at exaggerated prices but really delicious dishes even if quite expensive, we pay a little the frame ... But I will return with pleasure!
To predict for a classy evening!

I went here with my co-workers for dinner. The establishment is amazing and trendy. The food is great and the drinks are on point. We had 12 of us in our party. We did the chef sampler. This was an amazing opportunity to try a lot of different dishes on the menu. Everything came out great. I would come back here in a heart beat.

My wife and I had a reservation for 8pm and were seated by 845pm. Need I say more? They need to create a more organized system for seating their guest. The experience was not good... Food was ok.

Despite it's stylish, over the top digs, the food actually delivers at this Stephen Starr behemoth (you just have to know what to order). The edamame dumplings and peking duck are musts, while popular dishes like the chili rock shrimp and lobster fried rice satisfied, but didn't thrill.

Beautiful upscale ambiance! Expected better food and service seeing outstanding rating. It seem good for people who love food with lot of sauce and oil. Our experience was unlike its rating shown. Ordered 7 items and entire family felt heaviness afterwards. Service was delayed and disappointing at every step. Restuarant of this level are expected properly trained servers. Spilling water while filling in glasses and leaving spill on table. Wanted to order dessert, left without ordering as no one came to take order. Food was a huge disappointment.

The food is excellent, the quality is very good but the prices are high.
The entrance of tuna roll is magnificent. It is open late.
You can go and have a drink to meet him.

Food was great, atmosphere is ideal for a dinner conversation amongst the table. Service was a slight concern, food was not timed properly as multiple dishes came out at the same time feeling cold. Tasted great though.
