I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, and the service was pretty good. Up until now. I needed to cancel my stay, for which they have already charged a deposit. It is refundable, however, do you think I can get a refund without a hassle? first, they will not answer their phone directly. I needed to go to the customer service 800#.. I have been on the phone over 2 days for a total of 2 1/2 HOURS. They still don't have this resolved... so now I will have to dispute on my cc because they have an inadequate staff in San Francisco that can't seem to figure out how to do a refund. I've left vm's on the acctg vm -- no callback. I also had a problem last year with accounting getting another issue resolved. Their accounting staff is terrible.

Old and old. Def not cat 5 property. Im forced to stay here because of a conference. Very expensive, but that is just san fran. Did i say this place was OLD. Smells, carpets dirty, rooms are tiny and old. I guess its not starwoods fault, its a historic building, but at least charge less. Overall its "whatever", but do not expect typical cat 5.

The hotel I think of when I think of San Francisco. Right off Union Square. Single rooms a bit pricy for what you get. Still a very nice hotel. Just don't valet there. The nearby garages are the way to go.

Comfortable hotel right in the middle of downtown. Access to nearby convenience stores and shopping makes the traveller's life easier. The rooms are well furnished have most of not all accommodations you could ask for. My only downside is the shower doesn't have a more powerful stream.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and it is getting worse and worse. I paid almost US$550 in my room it was quite average and in need of upgrades. They benefit from the fact that San Fran has very few options for hotels and these are often fully booked. They do not recognize the SPG platinum benefits as well as other hotels. The gym is very good however their iPhone conductivity still uses the old plugs (minor point but...We are in the tech capital!)

It's quite a challenge to navigate to the meeting rooms in the Westin. The meeting rooms felt a bit small and claustrophobic with low ceilings. Catering and bar for the event were decent- beer, wine, and well drinks and a variety of quality Mediterranean appetizers. Lobby seemed nice and well decorated for the holidays.

Was at an event in Victor's Palace on the top floor. The views were amazing, but everything else did not match. The room was incredibly hot and humid, and we had to ask the staff several times to turn on the AC. The description of the food at each station made my mouth water, but they did not deliver. The sliced beef was fatty and tough, the dungeness had been frozen and was inedible.

Stayed @ Westin for the first time. Not really impressed by the property. They did upgrade me to a suite, but the rooms were not very clean, specially the bathroom. There were long black hairs all over, disgusting. I m a platinum elite member and I have stayed in Marriott properties all over the world and this is by far my least favorite. They don t have a lounge either.

Fantastic property. Large luxurious lobby. Perfect location, with good view over Union Square and generally great service. The room I stayed was very nicely appointed and humongous. I there on a business trip and sad not to be staying longer. I had to remove one star from my rating because checkin took far too long (around 20 minute wait) due to the hotel performing an upgrade. Also the water pressure in shower was quite poor.

Very decent hotel - all clean and spacious rooms. They have two different towers: one new and one a bit older. The updated one has excellent views of SF, and due to that they also installed a system that only gives elevator access to those with key cards. Staff were all very helpful - even when I lost my wallet. I would stay here again.

Phenomenal hotel! The infinity pool was amazing! The breakfast they serve are all delicious, and you have everything that you wished with an amazing view of the infinity pool, and the amazing terrace. The hotel was super clean, and everyone was so hospitable with a genuine smile. I will surely recommend this hotel to all of my friends and relatives.

HORRIBLE -- THIN WALLS and CATERS TO LOUD PARTIES.
We splurged for a Jr. Suite and the young people next door decided to party ALL NIGHT until 6am. The walls are thin and they kept us awake all night. Security and the front desk were useless in their attempt to quiet them down. This hotel seems to attract this kind of crowd. There are MUCH better options for hotels in SF so skip this one.

I didn't stay overnight since I'm just meeting my friend who stayed there. This review is only for the room and the lobby. The location and size are nice but the look and feel are a bit outdated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St. Francis. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the updates rooms are very large for an older hotel and the location is perfect! The only downside during our stay was the annoying protesters blowing their whistles and banging at 7am every morning. This is also a really cool hotel with lots of history and cool stories tied to it. Highly recommend.

We are here for an engagement party and as soon as we pull up from the airport protestors are outside the hotel .. I figure it must be politics or environment because I went to Cal and know the area, but the reason came much more close to our temporary home than hypothesized! 2700 people, exclusively employed by the 6 Marriotts throughout SF, are standing outside each of their places of work banging on signs and yelling into loudspeakers 24/7 (was up over half the night because of the noise). The employees at the hotel are not being paid fairly and are given multiple job assignments ontop of the one they are hired for apparently. Protestors are pulling marriott customers to the side to recant the tale of what working for this hotel has been like. They are truly motivated! something is absolutely awry! ON TOP of this, (and this is the stickler as a customer at this time) typical upper scale hotel amenities (such as room service and room cleaning) have been HALTED COMPLETELY! Our room hasn t been touched 2 days! No fresh towels, no garbage taken, no complimentary breakfast that I paid extra to receive! I thought to myself after the first day that Marriott would not let another day go by without resolving the conflict but I was wrong. Employees continue to play police sirens through loud speakers day and night specifically trying to make customers walk out and it is working! I cannot find another room in the city! But this part only strengthens the protestors argument... MARRIOT HAS NOT OFFERED ME COMPENSATION FOR THE PACKAGE I PAID FOR THOUGH I WENT DOWN AND SPOKE TO THE FRONT DESK! $150 paid for complimentary breakfast is in the toilet for me. I m so hungry right now I could eat a $2 hot dog that s available outside and I m a vegan. I m DoorDashing food to a hotel! I will never stay at a Marriott in SF again!

Location is awesome. Service is medium to poor for an hotel with such reputation. (Example: it took 20 minutes and 5 attempts for the checkout employee to write the correct address on my invoice)
Breakfast and food in general is crazy expensive.
There is a part remodeled but I stayed in the older part (paying same price) which are rooms from the 50 s-60 s

Didn t stay in the hotel but was advised to travel up the elevators. Wasn t sure why but once you ve travelled a few floors you know why. You get to see a panoramic view of San Francisco, wow is all I can say.

The staff was so incipient and condesnding. They had a computer malfunction and we could not check in which can happen to any buisness but the way it was handled was poor. They took my name and number never called at 11 pm we final arrived back to check in and room was not ready they had to find a room and roll away .the desk clerks passive aggressive. The bonvoy merger has been a disappointing I'm ready to sell out as this is how they treat there Gold Elite members

Attended a conference here and did not stay overnight. The conference rooms are nice, and the staff were great. The location is right in Union Square with easy access to BART. Nice hotel!

Stayed 4 nights, staff was accommodating. Rooms are social distanced. All services are closed, but you can get a light breakfast at the coffee bar in the lobby. There is no table service in the hotel, currently. The room was clean, beds were comfy. Easy walk from public transportation.

Our room was in the new Westin Tower level 20 with a view of Union Square over the old Westin building. We could also see a portion of the San Francisco Bay. I recommend this hotel for many reasons. First of all, which is a bit obvious, More
