Lovely hotel right in the heart of Sydney. Great service, comfortable rooms (14th floor), fashionable decor. I give it a 4 however because there is no free wifi which is something I d expect from a hotel like this one. Also regarding amenities in the room there are no toothbrushes or shavers, so bring your own or ask for one at the front desk. I would definitely stay here again though if I travel to Sydney in the future.

Update:
After reading my review the hotel staff immediately stocked my room with toothbrushes and shavers for the remainder of my stay. Thank you for your eye to detail!

Recently stayed here with 11 family members for a milestone birthday. Very happy with the rooms, and dinner in the restaurant where we had a private area curtained off and our own dedicated wait staff. Highly recommended.

The staff were amazing from arrival till check out, the high level of service from eveyone can't be faulted. Club Sofitel is the perfect place to relax for breakfast and afternoon drinks. The worst part is having to leave and go back to reality..

Wonderful hotel and great location. Have stayed here many times and always given good reviews
Hotel and room was expected standard, still high
However, was disappointed that the bed was not comfortable. Mattress seemed to need replacing.
This especially so given that it was a club room, upgraded or higher level room.
Not acceptable from this respect
Breakfast in the club was a little plain

Five stars from start to finish! We absolutely loved our stay at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. The rooms are on the smaller side but we were there for 6 nights and didn t feel cramped. Just exactly what you need and nothing more. We stayed for our honeymoon and they went out of their way to make us feel special and welcomed. The service is impeccable- the beds and pillows I d love to ship home for myself. We loved how central this hotel is- close to all the excitement in Sydney including the opera house and shopping districts as well as the circular quay terminal. Buffet breakfast was 10/10. You won t regret your stay here. Fabulous- thank you!!

Staff are very corteous and helpful. They always greet you. I even remember until now one of the conceirge, he is very welcoming. Positive vibes starts with him.
Nice and comfy room, I always love sofitel beds.
Foods and menus are also very good.
Very good location.
I hope that one day, wifi will be complementary for us. Most of our crew hotels in sydney has free wifi in the room except sofitel. I bought for a $15 wifi and use by only me i didnt share to anyone but the connection is really poor, it is on and off.
I am an accor silver member and i wasnt recognized nor give any complimentary e.g (wifi), but somehow I understand because my stay was paid by my company.

Beautiful hotel situated between Darling Harbour and Chinatown. The rooms are beautiful, albeit a little on the small side, but the huge floor to ceiling windows with stunning views more than make up for the missing few square metres. The restaurant below is excellent, make sure you try the bread... Warm bread and butter at its best. The hotel is next to the ICC convention centre.

as a fly in fly out person, I found the room very comfortable and I also was lucky enough to get an upgrade. Everything was available for my needs for someone only staying 1 night. On a Sunday there are limited options for dining, but I thought the service on offer was excellent.

This is the hotel I stay in Sydney. The crew are really nice. You will be greeted BONJOUR every single time, and the amazing smell of flowers will meet you every time. The hotel is expensive, however the location is superb. Worth the money

This was our first stay in a fancy hotel in Sydney & was quite disappointing. The room
was very tight, there was 3 of us & it was quite pricey. There was only 2 of everything in the room & it seemed an effort to get the extra towel etc. I feel you can get alot better value elsewhere, we won't stay here again.

A bad experience , we were miss lead at check in that breakfast was included if fact is was not . The room we had booked as Accor members was a Luxury 5* hotel room , this was more like 3 * the bed was old , no additional blankets or covers the room was tired looking , the shower had no water pressure and limited hot water , no coffee making machine This room was not up to 5* accor standards

The Sofitel Wentworth room we stayed in is starting to look a little tired. Our TV was blurry and your technician described it as being a problem with an analogue TV broadcasting digital channels. Not sure how accurate that statement was but it seemed nothing could be done to fix it.

However, the other more important issue was our pillows. Upon booking, we asked, as we always do for firm pillows in our room. The pillows didn't seem firm to us so upon requesting same the pillows that arrived were the same as those in the room. Once we received the 'solid foam pillows my neck issues from the previous night disappeared. We will be sure to make this more specific request in future however, we haven't had to do this in the past.

You would expect a fancy, well maintained hotel in the heart of Sydney - quite far from that. The reception staff isn t very happy nor very genuine. All requests meet their annoyed facial expression.

I never use the mini bar, but looking for some water in the morning I discovered half eaten salad in there. Toilet amenity kit bowl was left with rubish in it. When this was adressed to the staff, all I got was: okay, thank you not even apology.

Receptionist named Mirra was not happy at all at the moment of check-in, when asked for a colleague room number seemed very annoyed.

Rooms in the hotel are little smelly and dated, dust here and there on the bed stands.

Bonjour is not enough.

Loved staying here, loved the champagne on arrival, loved the service of just about all of the staff here. Unhappy about the unhelpfulness and attitude of the parking attendant. He was rude and abrupt. Otherwise, I hope you company's annual conference is here again.

From the moment you walk in the door the staff come to look after you and make you feel special. I felt thoroughly spoilt and would love to stay here again. We got an upgrade as I am gold level on accor plus. Could choose from several things for our welcome gift. Staff were all attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was really comfortable - had a great night sleep. Buffet breakfast was great - lots of options. Will be back!

Staff generally very pleasant and friendly. For my last two stays, the concierges were more aware of guests coming and going than they were last year; this awareness is the first step to being relevant and helpful. The staff in the Executive lounge are, without exception, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Their track record in remembering guests - including the initial welcome at the desk and then things like one's wine preference - is superb! The hotel takes the Loyalty program seriously and staff invariably enhance the experience.

Attended a conference at the Sofitel, beautiful design, large conference room with good view of presentations, friendly staff, nice views. Dinner was ok, lunch menu was very delicious with many vegetarian options.

Breakfasts each morning and room service was tasty/quick. Only downside were that the bath water was warm not hot, tv remote was temperamental, program on tv didnt work so I had to flick through every channel.

We had booked for an overnight stay on weekend to attend a function in the city. Got a good deal on Accor website which includes parking and breakfast also.
On check in, we were absolutely delighted to get an upgrade to Junior Suite. It was really appreciated. Also the Accor Plus bonus was a nice touch. We got a cheese platter and bottle of wine delivered to our room. It made us feel very spoilt and special.
We didn't have any problems during our stay but I feel I must make mention of a few things that were perhaps not in keeping with a 5 star hotel such as this one.
1) despite 2 separate requests for a turn down service, this never happened.
2) Contacted housekeeping for several items and only got partially delivered.
3) Needed to print off a few documents the next morning. The business centre was inadequately staffed and stocked. It took over an hour to sort out what I could've done at home or in the office for 10 minutes.
4) Check out was painfully slow and inefficient. It seems that not all information from the booking is transferred to hotel even though its booked on Accor website (info such as inclusions like breakfast and parking and partial payment by le club points). Or perhaps more training is required.
5) I informed the reception that we had consumed a bottle of water from the mini bar. She said she will waive the charge. A few hours later I got notification that my credit card was charged separately for this. Now, I don't mind the charge itself as I was prepared to pay for it anyway (which is why I mentioned to reception on check out). I didn't ask for the fee to be waived either. But to be told there's no charge only then to be charged later, is not good form I believe.

Anyway, I think the upgrade and the early VIP treatment put us in a very good mood that these minor issues didn't detract majorly from our stay. If we were to come back again, we'd expect top service throughout, with or without an upgrade.

Stay at the Sofitel Sydney Wenthworth over night to catch up with friends. Quick service, staff efficient and helpful. The hotel itself is very beautiful, the decor of the lobby is very tasteful and the atmosphere delightful. My lunch at the soiree was delicious and there are a lot of choices for breakfast. Room: comfortable bed and soft pillows but the bathroom is small compared to the standard of a Sofitel hotel. It's comfy for 1 person but I don't think it's the same for 2 people and for more than 1 night. I made the remark at the reception when I checked out and was told the bathroom in the superior room is more spacious than the classic room. So I hope it's true because I will be checking in one of those next time I will be in Sydney. All in all, I enjoyed my stay there and my thanks to all the staff I encounter in my journey for being friendly, knowleadgeable and professional.

The location is the only reason I stayed .
There were constant small problems with the heat and the tv in the room and the first service person told me all was well, that the heat was on at 28, when it wan't even running and the tv worked fine and that I just didn't know how to use the remote. Really?
Every afternoon at about 5 the wi-fi lost connection rendering me unable to call back to the U S. Eventually, after 3 days of the hotel's unsuccessful attempted to repair it was fixed.

We stayed overnight as we were attending a concert at the Opera House and had a lovely stay. As an Accor club member we were given the option to bid for an upgrade for a small fee, and ended up with a superior suite on the top floor.
Staff were very friendly and professional through out the hotel. Food and beverages great. Premier suite was very comfortable and lovely but surprisingly noisy from street traffic for so high up.
Overall very good and we would definitely stay again.

The doorman that worked in the afternoon of the 13th and 14th that made my daughters day with balloons went above and beyond. he is a star. upon check out had to explain to the lady working 3 times that the charges were incorrect until she figured it out. Drinks vouchers should be monetary so you can use them as you wish not as per some hotel policy. could not get onto the wifi and being a club member was not given any p/word or info on the wifi which should have come with my room. otherwise it was a pleasant stay

Dislike it a lot. Small rooms and minute bathrooms with shower only. Bathroom smelt like a dirty drain and shower water drained poorly. Toilet seat dirty! Bed saggy and uncomfortable. Just not good enough.

It's located in the north of Sydney and it feels calm, it's a business district, so it seems like there are many people staying for company use! Convenient for sightseeing and close to the opera house.

Level of service has dropped... asking for a top sheet for my bed & arrive at my room to find the folded up sheet just left on the end of the bed - Seriously, I am staying in a 5 star hotel & have to make my own bed... not acceptable!

Great

Sofitel Wentworth was the perfect solution for me,...

Sofitel Wentworth was the perfect solution for me, a resident of Brooklyn NSW, to meet friends and a sister in Sydney City for dinner and a little VIVID viewing at the weekend. Comfortable, clean, well-appointed and convenient, the Sofitel gave us access to our restaurant in The Rocks, the ability to enjoy a little of the VIVID displays, and to enjoy a drink or two without having to worry about driving the fifty-odd kilometres home. Loved it so much, stayed a second night and enjoyed the Piano Bar and Kylie Stephens' excellent singing and piano-playing!

I recently attended High Tea in the restaurant at Sofitel Wentworth. The atmosphere on arrival was fantastic with a string ensemble playing, champagne being handed out and many helpful staff on hand to help.
The food overall was decent. The bread on the sandwiches was a bit crusty as if they had been sitting out for a while, but other than that the food selections were quite enjoyable.
After the first half an hour the service appeared to be preoccupied and our table had to ask 3 times for a new pot of tea. Finally (45 minutes later) we were given a new pot and the server asked if we wanted more milk as we did not have any. He then walked off and never came back. 15 minutes later I pulled aside another server and asked for milk (tea was getting cold by this point) and he came back straight away with a jug of milk. Upon pouring the milk into our now luke warm tea we found that the jug was dirty it looked like it had been used for gravy and not cleaned properly Needless to say we had had enough and just left.

Also while there were still quite a few guests in the area, the servers started setting up for dinner, moving furniture etc. This was very unwelcoming as we felt as if we were in the way and they were just waiting for us to leave to use our table for something else.

In Sydney for the weekend only (sadly) - staying at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth was a memorable experience. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Service delivery, a very high standard with no judgment regarding any inquiry. FANTASTIC!

What is there not to like when you get an upgrade to a beautifully appointed suite?

Well located - walking distance to central district and opera house precinct.

Hotel staff are polite and helpful although there was quite a wait to be served at breakfast.
