I enjoyed my experience, I really like it when the desk staff and concierge say good morning when you walk past, it costs nothing but helps me feel valued as a guest and compensates for being away from home

Excellent hotel in Sydney CBD. The luxury room was great, check in was smooth and the lady was friendly. French vibe to the hotel. Gym and spa on the lower levels. Courtyard area on level 5. Breakfast was very nice. Expensive hotel but worth a visit. Enjoyed my stay.

Carpet in the room was stained, furniture in the room was very worn and stained, black marks on the wall, I advised reception immediately but my advice was ignored till I asked to speak to the duty manager the next day. I eventually after some hours was shown to a new room. This room had to have a new lounge chair brought in as it also had a very worn chair. The bathroom in the second had considerable mold in the bath and basin grout. Service at Breakfast was shambolic with plates not cleared and advice that I would have to pay extra on top of the full breakfast cost if I ordered Eggs Benedict; eventually I was told that they would make an exception on that day. Breakfast chef had very limited English. Request to have bathroom serviced was ignored. When I asked for new towels only bath towels were brought it took 3 trips to actually get the towels I needed.

Service in the Dining Room was good as was the Bar service.

There was a clear lack of attention to detail evident during my stay. The experience I had was not one expected in a 5 star property. The Account was wrong with car parking I didn't use being added and it took 5 phone calls to receive an accurate bill

We have stayed several times and always enjoy the Sofitel. Paying for the upgrade to a courtyard view room is always worthwhile. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, well designed, large bathroom for an older building.

I was told when I checked in that the room I had booked had 2 single beds. I was then offered a king room, which I accepted. Unfortunately when I got to my "free upgrade" room, it had 2 singles! I then ordered room service, only for the order to be wrong. When the correct order was delivered, it contained a jar of mayo that had already been opened and used by another guest

Poor quality

Poor quality
Does not deserve to be called a 5 star hotel
Dirty tables and rooms
Mold in the bathrooms
The gardenroom refused entry to guests and was redirected to the bar downtairs
The wine glass I was given had already been used and found a lipstik stain on it .. also water in the wine

From a people prespective, staff and friendly and nice
House keeping needs a kick in the right direction.

Upgrade Suite - Very dark...... a little disappointing compared to many other hotels.
Service - very slow... from getting a return call from a Concierge, to service in the Restaurant/Bar.... had to chase them several times.

This is my second stay at the Sofitel in Wentworth. Staff are always friendly and service is great. Convieniently located close to harbour, main roads and all local stores. Definitly worth the stay and is my future regular when in Sydney for both business and holiday.

I didn t realise we were booking on top of a night club. From 11pm a dj was playing down stairs and the noise was very loud. When I called reception at 11.25 they told me the event (wedding function) should have finished at 11pm and that they would sort it out. Going on 12pm and although the volume of the music was slightly reduced it was still loud and anyone would have trouble sleeping through... very disappointing and frustrating.

The room was nice, although expensive at $1100 for two nights, and parking was overpriced (at $55/d). The club lounge was only just ok, with ordinary service and a poor selection of breakfast (hot) food; the club lounge afternoon tea was ok, with nice little sandwiches. The restaurant/bar downstairs had too many dirty and uncleared tables (when not even busy) to have a nice atmosphere and the lighting was ordinary. The checkin staff were exemplary however, as was the concierge.

Saturday 7th December, was at the sofitel bar for some after dinner drinks for a friends birthday. Let me just mention how amazing Costa was in making a long island iced tea.one of the best in Sydney! Thank you Costa for doing it right!

My husband and I stayed one night on May 6. From the minute we arrived, our experience was very special. The offer of champagne at check in was amazing and then to discover that we had received an upgrade to a fantastic suite! We enjoyed our complimentary drink at the bar and ordered a tasting platter. This platter was absolutely delicious and extremely good value - not expected in a hotel of this calibre! I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Very happy from the moment we checked in. When reception heard it was our anniversary, they upgraded the room which was nice, and then surprised me with champagne and strawberries which were delightful. On top of that, the service was great - I couldn't fault it at all.

Great staff and ambiance. Attended the ballroom event and stayed the night. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Dissapointed with the bathroom and the toilet in our room. The lighting in the bathroom was very poor so shaving was very difficult, very weak flow in the shower and the toilet needed repeated flushing to work properly. Despite those issues the staff working there were fantastic. However I'd expect better room facilities for a hotel with the star rating. Please update your bathroom facilities.

This is a pretty average hotel - considering the amount we paid for our room. Luckily we had a 100$ gift voucher because the "City view room" was 300$ per night. The "city view room" is not a city view room. You couldn't see anything except a couple of buildings - I was kinda expecting a tiny view of the harbour.
Our TV was not working properly - it was fuzzy and the so called "cable tv" was rubbish. You had sports and a few entertainment channels which...didn't appeal to me. Not everyone is into sports!

You have to pay money for movies to watch. Not enough options for kids to watch anything. The bathroom was nice and the room was cosy but the shower head had NO pressure and so I hated showering. My shower head at home has more pressure then what you get for 300$ a night...The pillows were absolute rubbish. I had 2 pillows to sleep with and they were split in half and very flat.

There is no wi-fi for free!! How can this be when the Pitt St mall offers free wifi to it's customers. In this day and age...you should be offering free wifi to your customers.

The location is really great because it's a short walk to the Sydney Opera house, Pitt Street Mall etc so that was nice. I wouldn't eat at the hotel because you have so much to choose from around you. I was disappointed about the t.v - my partners goal and mine was to just lounge around and relax and watch movies at the hotel but we ended up going out which really wasn't a bad thing but when you're paying 300$ to just sleep...Next time I'd rather stay at home.

This hotel actually went to great lengths to try and minimise the cost of running their hotel rooms but manage to charge a big price just because they are conveniently located to tourist spots.

Had a terrible experience here, I would give it no stars if I could. I was there with my partner who was in Sydney for work, 3 days of intensive meetings, she is also a wheelchair user and was using her manual wheelchair. The hotel from the start isn't really accessible, there's no drop curb at the taxi rank, they do have a ramp but the guy did next to me watching my partner get out the taxi and only went to get it when it was too late, the carpets aren't very wheel friendly, there's no low check-in desk, the staff don't move out from behind the high desks. The first accessible room we were in was quite small, all the tea and coffee facilities were high up, the taps on the shower aren't great for some people my partner included, the shower hose is high up and therefore doesn't really have the reach for someone on the shower bench, it also really smelt of urine. We reported the smell they said we would be able to change to a new accessible room the next day but that room was given away so my partner asked if we could sleep in a non accessible room but keep the key to use the shower in the wee room, which they agreed to, but she had to come up with the solution. The non accessible room was much larger, much more space for someone in a wheelchair to be able to move about. The toilet was actually better, the flush was easier to use for someone with limited reach. So the third night we were put in a new accessible room which was back to being small and the same issues as the first but without the smell of wee.
My partner is extremely independent, I come on these trips because we know the world still seems completely surprised and unprepared for someone to arrive in a wheelchair, but she is usually quite capable of a lot more without my help.
This place is one of those examples of places that create disability. I would expect a lot more from what is meant to be a 5star hotel and an iconic venue for Sydney. It's places like this that should be leading the way.
Obviously for the service we received it was hugely overpriced, I also thought the food was only ok for the price. Some of the staff were lovely, particularly in the soiree bar, but mostly they were pretty clueless.

A fantastic elegant hotel in the heart of the City. Accessible to everywhere you want to go in Sydney with Public Transport at your doorstep and Trains around the corner. Great restaurant, staff and entertainment. An awesome Piano Bar with a fantastic female Piano vocalist whom attracts the crowds with her singing and her personable, approachable and fun going attitude.

We were celebrating our 25 yrs anniversary so ordered a bottle of champers for our arrival and my husband upgraded our classic room to a better room with a bath. On arrival no champers, and soooo disappointed with the basic old musty room. With an awful view of a office building. The bathroom was awful with a shower over a dirty old bath. We purposely booked the Sofitel for its luxurious reputation it upholds, until now. I called the reception thinking they had made a mistake with our upgrade and to be told no, the room we stayed in was the actual upgrade room. There was nothing classic about it and felt quite depressive decor and tired outdated furniture. You couldn't even open the window for some fresh air. The Staff were friendly and professional.

I requested an early check-in. I understand that this is not always possible as explained. I completed registration and returned at 1448 only to be told my room was still not ready (2 hours later) and after normal check-in time (14h). Fiona was not terribly friendly but still managed to find a room after about 10 minutes. Not acceptable for an institution of your stature. The concierge staff was absolutely amazing.

The Dymocks book launch there was a little too crowded and not enough staff. Coffee was served at the last minute and we had to chase that down. Otherwise food was good and the meager staff doing their best.

the staff were very polite apart from a rude French bus boy who was very rude to my husband and I outside breakfast he also smirked at us in the tea area when we were waiting for our car.

Your staff are really a credit to you, they were really the stand out of my stay. I was only in the hotel in the evenings as I was there for business but it was really comfortable and my room was immaculate. My only complaint was that I was woken frequently by bumps and noises through the floow and walls.

We stayed at the Sofitel Wentworth 4 years ago for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed it so much that we came back again this year to celebrate there. The staff are very warm and welcoming and go out of their way to make us feel special. The concierge even had water bottles waiting for us after we went for our morning walk! Club Sofitel is fabulous with delicious food, drinks and service. We would again highly recommend the Sofitel Wentworth for a luxurious stay in a great location in Sydney.
