Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Reviews

I always stay at Sofitel Wentworth when in Sydney. I love the lobby perfume, the comfortable rooms and the location. We enjoy the Club Lounge benefits for the convenience however this time from check-in to check-out the desk staff were very strict, made me feel inferior and the food service in the lounge was very slow. At check-in the reception staff member was very short with me, maybe because my husband and I are younger she felt as though we were not travelled or have the money like other guests? Whatever the reason, we were eyeballed every time we entered the lounge, as if they weren't sure if we were allowed in there. It made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable.

This place works hard to be perfect, and it shows. Go here if you want to indulge. It's main entrance is quiet at night, which adds to the level of privacy in the city.

Well presented, modern hotel, with excellent conference facilities

My wife and I had recently decided to stay here on our wedding night. We were relieved that our special day was able to go ahead after a few stressful days due to the government announcements. After turning up to the hotel after the wedding still in our wedding attire, the last thing we expected was a room with an unmade bed and dirty towels on the shower floor. Not what we expected for a hotel with this reputation and price. We would have preferred to pay the $30 for the uber home.

I have stayed at the Wentworth several times before and I am always happy with the experience. This was the first time in a Junior Suite so it will be hard to go back to a standard room after that.

Sadly not the best place I ve stayed in. Room was not serviced when got back at 4.30 pm, and when they knocked on door later as we were getting ready to go out, all he said was it should have been done by now. Had already made my own bed and tidied bathroom! At breakfast I was offered coffee , twice and it never came. Got my own. The rooms are pretty dated and I was woken numerous times overnight as you can hear everyone coming and going, opening doors, talking AND traffic from outside as well .

I liked the Sofitel but they need to do some thing about the lighting system in the bedrooms
The computer light switches do not work properly even the people who work there don t have any idea I
This needs to be attended to as soon as possible

This stay is a bad experience, because we can't order a menu at 2 am, even we already request because one of us got a stomach ill. We stay at room 1231, 1236 and 1237, there is no tissue and slippers in the room.

Over booked in the restraunt and didn't notify us about our original booking being pulled. Ended up looking after us in the end with some great food

a beautiful and luxurious stay with impeccable attention to every small detail, from the soothing aromatherapy scent as you enter the hotel, to the complimentary water and chocolates in your room, and the wonderful Club Sofitel experience on the 5th floor. Just stunning!

The suite (1452) was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well fitted out. The experience of linking my electronics to the room was easier than usual. The staff were friendly and discrete

It's Frozen Christmas was a bit Disney commercial, but the food drink & staff were lovely.

2 Locked door to neighborhood in the room. No comb , no toothbrush unless u ask for

Recently attended a work conference at the Sofitel. The ballroom was beyond freezing and the hotel failed to adjust the AC settings despite numerous requests. Also, the quality of food provided was sub par and the service bordering on apathy. At morning tea, a large number of attendees missed out. All in all, an absolute disaster considering the number of attendees (i.e. 400) and existing relationship.

As always the overall experience was 1st class. The standard of Customer Service consistently offered was exemplified by Hanh at the Club Sofitel reception. She was simply outstanding.

First time staying at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with my wife for a date night and had such a wonderful experience! Big thank you to Harshita Chawla for creating a great customer experience and making our stay so pleasant.

The hotel is elegant, and the staff and service further elevate the experience to a modern day 5 star service.

Nice hotel in Sydney CBD, very close to opera house, harbor bridge and Pitt Street mall. We had buffet breakfast for special price $25 per person, good value with healthy selection of choices

Well id say its slipping out here- its not the same it was in terms of its quality and overall standard. People who work here hold it up but other than that way better places to stay

I went tho the Sofitel for a conference. Conference hall was comfortable and bright. Hotel position is convenient as I could easily catch a train to Martin Place and walk there in 5 min.

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is a warm and welcoming hotel that feels more like home. This is only possible with a team of professional and dedicated people who are responsive and take pride in their work.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The menu was very tasty and there was plenty of food. Vegetarian options at lunch were limited to sides.

Nicely positioned to wharfs train stations buses and downtown. Need to update soiree bar and restaurant

It was lovely staying here with great housekeeping and a beautiful clean hotel in general with all in a great location. However, asked for a room with a few and were looking straight into an office building, rooms are very small and reception was not very helpful on one occasion.

Great location. Walking distance to shopping center, not far from Opera House

There's nothing wrong with the hotel and the bar has good service.

I wouldn't recommend this as a conference facility however. There is a large amount of sound that gets through between the various rooms. Even the doors to the doors shudders and vibrate meaning every late arrival or early departure disrupts the whole session.

It was a special occasion to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary & we were really spoilt! It was lovely.
Especially in the restaurant for dinner, where the waitress, (sorry can't remember her name, she was Indian)
brought us some little cakes for dessert & she had "Happy wedding anniversary" scrolled on the plate in chocolate - such a lovely thought & a lovely surprise. Much appreciated.

Good breakfast. I really liked the club house, where you can take a quick shower too. In the middle of the city, very close to hunter street

I had a great three days at this hotel. All the staff were excellent. The event that i attended was well run. I couldn't ask for more.

Your in room dining is inedible. Truly revolting and expensive.

That said your Club sofitel experience is really great as is your breakfasts buffets.

Everything was very easy, from check-in to check-out. Room was in great condition, staff were very helpful and friendly.

Had a meeting there in Adelaide room. Was a fantastic experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Sofitel Wentworth. I was attending the Mary Kay Seminar and stayed 2 nights. The food was amazing and service was so friendly, helpful and genuine. I'll definitely be back.

Friendly staff, and a five star experience.
The Suite we had was tidy and had good ambiance, definitely worth the upgrade.
My wife said the suite could do with a paint and new carpet but it did not bother me.

We recently had dinner in the Garden Court restaurant, it was a lovely experience, as always. Service was excellent, food delicious. This is why it is one of our favorites.

Room old and tired looking. Bed very old and uncomfortable. For the money they charge, you would expect a lot more. Won t be staying there again.

Attended a professional event here. Have to say the politeness of the staff was incredible, facilities were tip top. Probably wouldn't stay here as it's not my style of hotel, but those that love opulence, this is the spot.

Meh. Wasn't worth three cost. Plus if you arrive late they don't mention that its cheaper if you prebook. From $40 to $30 shocked

Best place to end up my quarantine M super super happy with my quarantine spent here . Being a non paying guest , all the facilities provided were much above my expectations Everything was too gud from food to room entertainment. My 14 days were gone so quick in such a relaxed environment . Will definitely say its a fabulous place to stay , whenever i get a chance in future

I absolutely love the bright breakfast here, but dinner is equally atmospheric... I even had the pleasure of meeting hotel manager Claud last night, just kicking around helping the wait staff, and ensuring his selection of fine wines and careful input on the menu are being enjoyed to their fullest.

This is one of the few hotels I've found with a truly well-rounded offering of well appointed rooms (I love the marble bathrooms & their lighting), superb service staff, beautifully well-balanced menu and lovely atmosphere.

Really great hotel. Room was spotless, for was excellent, service was matchless.

This Sofitel is a step above the standard Acccor experience. As Plus members we were booked in on level 5 not on the ground floor, and then shown into the club room which is rather like a 1st Class airport lounge. Here we were treated with coffee and snacks until our room was ready.
Between 5 and 7 pm we were welcomed back into the lounge with an elaborate array of snacks and excellent wines. We went then into the Garden Court restaurant for the special De Bortoli's wine dinner also excellent. Then the next morning we also were welcomed into the club for breakfast, all included.
The only slight minus was that the staff at checkout tried to charge us for a room upgrade that I had specifically rejected.

Nearly 20 times I called internationally to reach the reception .....nobody picks up the call....all the time "all operators are busy" !!!

Friendly staff, the hotels easy access, great food.
