Centrally located, good breakfast.
Stayed here twice now for business, rooms are adequate, you get good wifi.
Bathroom is not my favourite, with the shower over a bathtub arrangement.
Plenty of wardrobe space and irons are clean.
Free use of the gym is great.
Breakfast included is really good, as the gave the usual buffet and also allow you to order a la Carter eggs, waffles, etc. Specialty coffee is also included in breakfast, which is nice.
Staff are fantastic, super friendly and not over enthusiastic.
I d stay here again.
We had our work function here. Nice setup ans ther food at the restaurant was lovely.
Lovely place and convenient location. Some of the room fittings starting to look a little tired.
The best location, but the room is kind of small and not doesn t have a comfortable bed - it was broken and the sink was clogged. Otherwise overall good. Bathroom is not as nice, as it looks like in a closet
Went for drinks on friday night...there's a lovely chill piano bar there that was great!
Last Saturday my partner and I had dinner at the restaurant. The food was amazing and meal size was great. Thanks to Dimitri who suggested meals and matching wine - we really enjoyed our dinner. We also noticed how cooperative Dimitri was with other staff, they had a very energetic mood and attitude during which made it a pleasant experience. We definitely will recommend the Sofitel restaurant to our friends and we will be back soon.
First holiday without kids. Before I could get to my room I was slapped with a $50 per day parking fee by Sofitel. Three days parking in their own building cost over $150 what a joke. Great way to begin your holiday
Best quarantine ever. If i ever have to be confined to a room for 14 days again this place would be my first choice, without question. Despite not being a paying customer I was never made to feel by staff who treated me with the highest respect and hospitality.
No a bad place to stay, booked a early check in, arrived at hotel was told room wasn't ready, waited till 2 to check in, not impressed. Staff were friendly. Close to circular quay, bed was comfortable and room was clean. For value I think next time I would choose a different hotel.
The Sofitel website claims to have live music at piano bar at the Wentworth. I planned an evening out and visited the bar in July only to be disappointed and told the Live music at the bar was stopped a month ago and it was the marketing department's job to fix the website.
Its been 1.5 months since I flagged the misleading information on their website to Kajsa from Sofitel and almost 3 months since the live music stopped. Although she says her team are "looking into it", I don't think they really care about customer service.
This also shows in the bar having filthy glasses with stains, which I had to bring to the duty manager'a attention.
Wouldn't recommend this place.
Location was easy to get to. The food was pretty good. The high tea is just in the bar location.
We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. The service was impeccable, food was brilliant, bed felt like I was at home. It is the only place I want to stay in Sydney from now on. Well done team, you are doing a fantastic job. Merry Christmas to you all.
The room is perfectly clean and fine but the window is pretty much up against the next building over.
Friends of mine were with some business clients having a drink and they stopped service to them thinking they were drunk. Be careful going for a drink here.
Great hotel, friendly staff and a great cocktail bar
This is a nice hotel however comes at a high price. The services are not what you would expect after paying AUD 280 per night. Extra AUD 8 if you want to dine in. No dental kit unless you ask for. No in house laundry. Not a real return in investment but since it s in the city and very close to Harbour and Opera House a must place to stay if you are with family or coming for business. Excellent staff.
We love returning to this magnificent hotel. Perfect for couples
Be sure to visit Kylie when she's playing in the piano lounge.
Stunning venue close to all city sights! Thanks for having us
Excellent, neat and spacious rooms with all amenities. Located in Sydney central business area and very close to good restaurants, shopping centers, museum, Quay, Opera etc. We had nice outside view from hotel room.
Polished tiling provided in the bathrooms and hence one has to be careful especially while using bathtub.
Being Indian citizens on tour, we didn t find Indian dishes for buffet breakfast which needs to be improved.
Friendly great staff
Room fabulous and thankyou for the upgrade
Breakfast - very overpriced. Was the most expensive plate of fruit I have had in a long while - will not be eating breakfast there again.
Large, beautiful and spacious hotel. Centrally located.
the service and attention from staff was exceptional
No free in room WiFi. Maintenance problems. Great service and breakfast.
Great interiors in function room and beautiful floral displays in foyer.
Nice place to stay..
Would be better if they extend their gym hours..
Closed at 8pm? Really?
Check-in was quick, the room was clean & well set out, parking was easy and a great central location - walking took 5 mins to Circular Quay, 10 mins to Pitt Street Mall, 10 mins to The Rocks. This is our go to hotel when staying in Sydney.
Pleasant staff, poor restaurant service, great location, room not 2020 five star.
Good hotel with really great staff. Highly recommend staying here.
It might look like a Sofitel but act like a 3 star. No pool, sauna, spa. Very good breakfast buffet. Brilliant concierge. Nothing too much trouble for these guys. Very comfy beds. A bit exy for what it is but it is in a very convenient city location.
Hotel restaurant has a great selection of quality meals. The staff are also great.
Room a little small, but otherwise, except a swimming pool all there with a nice little garden and good breakfast. Concierge very helpful. You can walk to Circular Quay from here.
I have stayed their 5 nights over the past week and a half. I have been staying at the same hotel on and off for the past 3-5 years and May rewards balance does not seem to ever increase? The staff are always very polite and helpful. It would be nice to be upgraded and see some return for my loyalty.
Went to dinner here and the waiter called claude was the best waiter i have had
It was great. We checked in early for our 10th wedding anniversary. We requested a high level but opted to have room 652 a suite overlooking the courtyard. The room was great, the service in the concierge lounge excellent and the staff even had the All Blacks game playing for us. The food in the lounge was excellent. Lovely afternoon teas. Service of fulling the trays at breakfast was a bit slow but not unacceptable. The concierge staff suggested malls and shops for buying particular items. I would most certainly book this hotel again based on service alone. The restaurant in the lobby was great and as a Le Club Accorhotel member we receive half priced food. There is no swimming pool or spa pool level. There was a beauty spa just off the foyer of the hotel which was excellent and great at short notice. We received a late check out at no cost, chocolates and water and a large fruit platter on arrival in our room.
I attended a conference at this hotel and the staff were friendly and the food provided was very good.
This 5 star hotel is nicely placed, just 300 meters from Circular quay and 600 meters from Opera house. Royal botanical gardens is just a short walk. It s convenient location, good facilities, nice and well trained staff makes it one of the obvious choice for accomodation in Sydney.
Lovely elegant old style hotel high level service delicious food and a lovely bar parking centrally located easy access to all the main tourist attractions also a very good place to hold a corporate event
While it has been refurbished, it still feels quite dated. The lobby area is nice, particularly the area off to the side with the newspapers.
Very attentive staff. Lovely breakfast, though a different brand of coffee would be better as what they serve is bitter.
Had a nice stay but didn't seem like 5*. Rooms basic and lacking amenities
Room is pretty small comparing to the price. Location is confusing on the Google map.
We had a great time.
The room was excellent and dinner at the Garden Court restaurant was also excellent.
Amazing place, I got bumped up to a suit for free, there was building at 730am on a Friday and Saturday morning.
Pleasant fast service. Only issue is that it took my forth stay for them to finally complete my sign up together membership.
OK. Was a business trip. Efficient, polite staff. No WOW though.
One of our favorite hotels in Sydney. The history, the service, it s just wonderful.
It was a great experience we had at Sofitel, staff were very accommodating and friendly, approachable and very professional.
We booked a superior deluxe room for 3 nights. However when we walked in the room we found a wrapper of ferrero rocher underneath the curtains and a condom wrapper behind the bedside table. We were quite disappointed but the lovely staff at the reception area(apologies I was not able to remember her name I think it's Reez?) handled it well and professionally, upgraded us to a luxury room on highest floor. It was such a great pleasure to be served by this lady.
Overall experience was fantastic! Would recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues.
Thanks Sofitel!! :)
Very friendly staff (Nick @ concierge with directions and Hahn @ club Sofitel) - very comfortable rooms (nice temperature & air did not feel stale) - my family loved the "bon jour & bon soir" - fun - great location too close to Circular Quay and Hyde Park
This is one of the best places we've ever stayed - everything was just as expected for a 5 star hotel
BE AWARE:
We booked a hotel at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth for 2 nights stay. The hotel stated 5 stars hotel but it wasn t. We arrived and checked in, the staff said our room wasn t ready even though it was 5pm afternoon and asked us to pay more if we wanted to upgrade. We rejected the offer and wanted to wait. The staff said we upgraded the room for us without fee.
What a Sofitel Syd Wentworth treated us: old design, old room and the hotel didn t meet a 5 stars hotel standard. As a regular traveller, we never stayed in 5 stars hotel like that before. However, it wasn t a big deal until night time. If you never believe in haunted, you must to change your mind.
I felt something not right when I already turn off the air con before we went out for dinner but we came back, the room was so hot so we wanted to open air-con but I found strange that the aircon turned on by itself on 26 degree even I already turned off before however I did not mind much about it.
Until, first night in the room where we got, it was really haunted. I had a bad nightmare, I woke up with my heart racing very fast. I couldn t sleep back so I started to hear different weird noise. I heard someone knocked on front door for few times, I heard the door opened sound by 1am where the level didn t have anyone outside.
When I closed my eyes, I heard a lot of people talked and a lady cried into my ear. I tried to talk to myself that I must be scare myself but it wasn t. Suddenly, Some stuffs in the room started make noise even we didn t touch.
Excellent location and service. Compact rooms are due a refresh but always pleasant.
Easy check in and check out. Nice and clean room. Walkable distance to station and shops. Very friendly crew. Overall awesome.
Initially refused valet as I hadn't checked in yet. How am I meant to check in without first parking?
No advice given to location or time of breakfast buffet.
I was told I would receive WiFi access, but this was never given.
Room had dirty sink and broken shower head handle.
Room service: the meal was luke warm on arrival, and of average quality. A fish and chip shop does a better sandwich.
Had about 2 hours sleep as the elevator noise was very loud through my room. I had to resit supervised physcometric and cognitive testing the next day for a new job, something of which my performance was notably hindered by the lack of sleep.
Breakfast buffet was limited in options compared with most other hotels. Food was stale/dry.
Throughout my stay, most of the staff offered excellent service.
The hotel itself was terribly underwhelming for the price.
Was here for a function. Very well run and thy room was really well set up. Professional audio staff.
Perfect. In the center of Sydney. Near the port. Close to everything. Excellent hotel.
Lovely room but took a while to get the king bed split - had to ask a second time.
All of the staff were courteous and helpful, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
We enjoyed most of the food that we had there, although some of the fresh fruit at breakfast was not ripe and unenjoyable.
