3 things that happened:

3 things that happened:

1. Booked hotel through luxury escapes deal that advertised a complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival. Was told we had to order wine ourselves after checking in and did so at 2PM. Left hotel room and returned at 6PM only to find wine not in our room. Called up guest services only to be told that it is a busy dinner period and would take 40minutes and ignored us when we told them we had already called up at 2PM. Called front desk to ask for help in chasing this up and copped a lot of attitude back - "It is busy and I will try" in a tone that made me feel like I was in the wrong for asking because it is suddenly my problem that they are busy and forgot to do their job at 2PM.

2. In the pillow menu they advertise 2 baths that very clearly states that the staff members would prepare upon arrival. Requested one of the baths only to find a staff member handing me a bag of bath salts - underwhelming. I would have no issues if they didn't falsely advertise the service.

3. Towards the end of our first morning at the buffet breakfast (food was good) we wanted to grab a takeaway coffee and walked up to the bar intending to place an order. The baristas and a lady (who I presumed to be a manager) ignored us and it seemed like they were busy so we just waited until they felt like they could acknowledge one more order. Another tall Caucasian male customer walked up 5 minutes after us and his order was immediately attended to by the lady. Great - I guess we didn't deserve service because we were too short...or asian?

This is a different type of Hotel than the Sofitel at Darling Harbour (which I was at prior). This Sofitel I would give 3.5 out of 5. I believe it is suited for busy business travellers on short stays as it doesn't have much in the luxury dept. The service I experienced from staff has been great though so I gave it another 0.5. The rooms are darker and older than I expected, the bathroom is a funny style and all the toilets (including those in function rooms) are very low set and I have to hit the flush button with my foot. The bathtub is very high and hard to get in and out of. (The glass may be a hazard as it is also hard to stand in it - be careful, everyone!). The tv reception on some channels is very poor and it didn't pick up the Foxtel signal in my room. However, it is very close to a number of eateries which is another plus! They put on a great function!

The service was great and lovely entrance.
My room needed a bit of attention; the shower bracket broken, the door leading to the bedroom not easy to close and the tv and tv options very outdated.
Breakfast; wasnt easily laid out for everyone to access and ordering eggs at the chef counter seemed a bit of a waste of time, my 2 poached eggs were not cooked to what I asked and they went to the wrong table, only after enquiring did they follow up.

I got a superior room, found it smaller compared to other Sofitel, and not as sleek and understated as I was used to seeing.

The room was clean, soundproof and well equipped: iron, soap, cotton swab etc ...

I found that the bathroom was not like the Sofitel decor.
Only a tub (tub and shower listed in the room description) and the worst part was the plastic toilet seat and no fall brake.
Average for a 5 star.

The staff were very friendly and I loved the little "Hello" the staff announces before greeting in English.

I was delighted with the breakfast buffet. Very well presented and loads of things to eat. Definitely worth the price.

Despite all this it remains a pleasant hotel and maybe I will return.

This has been an absolutely amazing experience from the first moment we stepped in the hotel. The warm welcome from the reception with a nice touch of red wine and cheese ( it's Christmas after all) and the fantastic view from our room, it was a "kind of magic", that made our vacation unforgettable. The breakfast is to die for...a great selection of everything you could possibly want. Originally I booked breakfast only for one morning. After the first experience, I booked for the remaining of our stay. It is cheaper when you book that at the reception, at your checkin. Also kids eat free with a paying adult. Truly amazing experience. Sofitel, I will be back here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The location is perfect, I had the chance to be upgraded to the penthouse floor, however the AC was loud during the night.
Immediately the manager James and his assistant Vanessa offered me to visit 2 other rooms, who surprise...were suites!
James has been incredibly helpful and made my stay at the sofitel a true luxurious experience!

At every touchpoint your staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. The champagne on arrival on Thu evening in the lobby is a beautiful touch along with the music, soft lighting and of course the signature Sofitel scent. Whilst the hotel interiors are a little tired the presentation is second to none. Next time I have overnight business in the city, I will definitely rebook the Sofitel.

I stayed at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth as part of the quarantine program in early June 2020. The staff were always responsive, professional and helpful. I had a large suite with plenty of room and good amenities. The food was high quality given the hotel was making hundreds, if not thousands, of meals at once. When it wasn t to my personal taste, staff were swift in bringing food that I had ordered externally up to my room. Thank you for making a difficult situation a pleasant and relaxing experience, and for providing this service during the pandemic.

I didnt mention anything on the day as I wasnt 100% sure if i was maybe getting sick with a virus, but i ordered room service on Monday night 10/04 and 5/6 hours later was extremely and violently ill for the night. I didnt sleep other than on the bathroom floor. The next day i was feeling awful but fine, and recovered after a good nights sleep back home.
I am pretty confident, as I skipped lunch, that the pasta that i ordered from your room service menu gave me food poisoning.
Obviously for a hotel of your size and reputation i think thats simply not good enough. Something went wrong in your food storage or preparation process to make the food i ate make me seriously sick.
So I will be rethinking staying at your hotel in future, which i have stayed at for years now, as i simply cannot afford to be going to important business meetings with no sleep and feeling sick in the stomach.

Great service, lovely rooms and loved both dining rooms. The flight of wines was fantastic in the formal dining area, while the burger with chips was great for a casual dinner. They go the extra mile to treat guests well and it is appreciated.

The best things about the hotel is the location, rooms are small and basic.
I don t recommend the hotel s restaurant as I had an unpleasant experience , with staff being rude and food not properly cooked that I couldn t eat, for which I had to pay full price, no matter the circumstances.

The facilities were really good, the staff were freindly and there was plenty of signage to get you to the right place. The food was very nice and there was heaps of it. The only issue I had (may not be the hotels fault, but rather the host) is that there wasn't a lot of room in the common area where the food was being servered.

This is booked every year for Carol's in the Domain with the family.
It certainly is a quality hotel, rooms always clean and we'll presented.
Love the full Continental breakfast in the morning after.
Well worth the stars and the ratings

Location - awesome, Staff were good... helpful... polite... but no hot water for 2 days over a weekend stay - plus no compensation offered at checkout - just left a bad impression.... definitely not a 5 star experience this time.

It was a lovely hotel and probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The room was a good size, very clean, and I couldn't hear a sound from anywhere outside my room which was very peaceful. Most places would probably like to you eat and drink there but it would be great if hotels provided an easy flyer of the local streets with their top picks for shopping and alternate dining. They did make a great Negroni in the bar though and that's always a good thing.

Don't believe the website when it says it has a fitness centre. It doesn't. The staff redirects you to the nearby (15-20min walk) Pullman Hotel for use of pool & gym facilities. Otherwise the local attractions are within walking distance. Hotel service is iffy....a lot depends on who you get.

Lovely spot. We had an anniversary to celebrate and were treated with champagne and macarons, great service and a lovely room in a central location . Easy walking distance to Sydney's attractions.

Accor Advantage Plus Member and have stayed at Sofitel previously. Coming in direct from Novotel Melbourne experience and, apart from efficient and polite staff in both hotels, noticeable quality difference for not significantly more in price. Luxury and well located Hotel - Booked Prestige Suite Club and enjoyed- spacious suite - lounge and room, club facilities-breakfast, tea and canapes/drinks, high quality and excellent service from club staff who looked after us and guests on one night really well.

Opportunity for improvement- improve tight study table, coffee, electric kettle layout and power points experience.

The Sofitel Wentworth is now getting a bit dated and rooms need a face lift and be modernised. Super comfy beds, but are out of stock of a number of items (pillows, mist, etc). Rooms are also smaller than expected, and the shower and toilet tiny - especially if you are over 6 foot. Location is fantastic, located in the heart of the city walking distance to all the usual spots. Parking is available for $57/day - so look out if you are driving.

Very nice French hotel, I enjoyed my stay. The only con is the hotel restaurant. The service is incredibly slow and some people really just dont care about servicing the customer. The food is overpriced for what it is. Overall I would stay here again and just not visit the restaurant.
