I informed the team that the staycation is meant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and she got a surprised when we entered the room! Thanks for the effort and we all had a great time together. Like she said, one of the best hotel ever!

Good

The keycard they gave me upon check-in didn't work the first time. I had to go down again to get it working. Although I am a Gold member, the hotel was unable to provide me an upgrade. Instead I was offered a bottle of white wine. Although I love white wine, the white wine they gave me tasted terrible and both me and my friend were unable to drink it.

When I opened the curtains, all I saw was a white wall. What a let down, and the hotel was fully booked. What were you thinking when you designed this hotel?

The room was small but had everything I needed. Minibar was free and the ipad was great. All amenities available at the bathroom. Housekeeping good but the first time they didn't clean the toilet properly.

Breakfast tasty, but sometimes dreadful services and more than 10-15 minutes for just a "signature" hot chocolate? Come on. Sometimes the milk for my coffee was forgotten and I had to ask it again. Sometimes long waiting times for the eggs. At 9 AM the staff has to improvise to get seats for everyone by changing tables and getting chairs from somewhere else. They do their best but there's a problem with the organisation and seating.

WiFi good and strong connection. Bed very comfortable. Shower very nice and those shampoo/shower gel/conditioner pumps were great.

I will not come back here again.

Our stay was at the So Sofitel Singapore was exceptional. We cant speak highly enough of the staff, in particular Paulo and Sally.

We felt extremely valued and our daughter was spoilt by the Team, creating a memorable experience for her. We have been sharing our experience with family and friends and will certainly be back to visit again.

Having recently traveled through Europe, we can share that our stay at the Sofitel was the highlight.

Why? The consistency of service excellence.
Wether we were dining at breakfast, or quite drinks at the pool bar, the staff were all friendly, professional and engaging. It was their professionalism, energy and warmth that resonated with us.

Our room was fabulous, however it was the team made our stay exceptional and memorable. Congratulations So Sofitel Singapore for fostering a culture of service excellence and making us feel so valued..

I wasn't too sure about booking this place since I saw some questionable reviews, but I'm so glad I did! Beautiful room, excellent location (walking distance to China town) and nice staff. The hotel is also next to Lau Pa Sat, where you can sit in the middle of the street and have satay. Only slight improvement could be to the breakfast menu. In terms of the hot food, it was a limited for vegetarians such as myself. Also some of the tongs were shared over two or so dishes, so even if the dish was vegetarian (e.g. potatoes) the tongs had already touched other meat products. But overall, lovely stay.

Such a nice hotel in the middle of the city and in the hustle and bustle (positive). Everything is very easy to reach from here. The mega highlight is the food market directly on the street in front of the hotel, from 7:00 p.m. you have everything the foodie heart desires.

SO Sofitel Singapore is all about the look. The lobby is a bit weird in that its nearly all commercial space with space for people to sit and wait in the corridor leading to the lifts. The rooms themselves are also gorgeously designed but have limited natural light. Prior to going I had read people complaining about the fact that rooms were not ready when people went to check-in; and I had the same experience. If rooms won't be ready at the advertised 2pm check-in time, then perhaps they should consider changing the check-in time back to 3pm. Other than having to sit around waiting for a room an otherwise good stay. The pool deck and bar on the roof is often advertised for local parties - and to be honest it looks like it has seen better days and is worse for the wear. Hopefully they have some plans for renovating it - as it seems like it could be a nice space.

The hotel was very nice, clean and the personnel were friendly, helpfull and you get a little bit more than you pay for. Location is perfect for this part of Singepore eventhough it can be hard to find, as signs are not very visible. In walking distance from attractions and lots of shipowners.

This hotel with a French twist, while on the pricey side, is funky, yet elegant and definitely original. The staff were super friendly and the hotel was a joy to stay at. Mod cons aren't a miss and the bath is incredible! The breakfast was yummy (especially the mushrooms), but there were some things missing from our order that we had to chase, which considering the price you wouldn't expect. Aside from that we really would recommend staying here!

A beautiful boutique hotel. Well preserved. Cozy Room quite small for 5star hotels. Add Sgd 70 to change to Urban Room. Bigger Room, but still dont like the layout. Free afternoon tea every thursday for guests. Unfortunately, some of the staffs lack of smiles and warmth welcome. Location is superb.

The officers and staff particularly Paolo Manalo gave an excellent and personalized service. Anticipating our needs even before we knew it. Food is great, accommodation excellent, centrally located and the facilities more than adequate. Will book again.

Convenient location and great rooms. Meals are not that great but the front desk staff are very friendly and good. Same with house keeping staff too. Cannot say much about restaurant staff.. they need to up their game a bit

The rooms are tiny and may not be everyone's cup of tea. But they are awesome terms of decoration, amenities and technology. The staff is courteous and warm. The hotel is located bang opposite a street food circle with amazing food and cheap beer. Verynear to the tourist attractions in Singapore.

Good vibe and atmosphere, the hotel is location is very convenient considering walking distance for various sightseeing attractions, the hotel is close to Chinatown where you can find Chinese, Japanese, Korean or western style cuisine, it s also just besides Telok Ayer Market which offers late night meals, but some of the stores might be pricy, better ask for the menu before sitting.

Room is clean and overall quality good, however space is limited.

Breakfast is also good but not fancy.

Overall is a good bargain.

We booked the SO Urban King Size room. The photos ...

We booked the SO Urban King Size room. The photos do not depict what you get. Rooms vary in size despite a specific sqm dimension given. We ordered this room as it was bigger than the SO Cosy size room. But instead the first room they gave us didn t have the chair shown in the photo as it couldn t fit because it was a lot smaller. We couldn t even open our suitcase. The window was also smaller than what you see in the picture. We told the staff and they offered are larger room and asked us to pay extra. Unbelievable. We declined. How can you ask someone to pay extra when you didn t even offer or provide the original room as conveyed in the images. And if all other rooms as per the original image is already booked out, and you only got a larger room, then the right thing to do is accommodate your guest and provide that larger room that is available at no extra cost as you have already not offered what you originally sold to the guest.

They then asked us to wait and they got another room ready that evening. The room was darker but had more space and the lounge chair as per the original photos was there (so we were definitely being sold short previously). As we needed the space for our suitcases, we moved. They then said they ll look at finding another room which had a bigger window as per the original images the next day. That didn t happen. We had to stay in that room for 2 nights before they showed us another room.

They kept saying they can t do anything about the heritage building and the facade.... No problems. Seems like a common excuse they give since we heard it from 3 staff independent of each other. However, they should include photos of the variances that each room type has. The photos currently displayed are misleading. The following day they showed us another room. But the window was still small and the living space was even smaller. They simply said, that s all there is. I find it disappointing that the photos they provide do not depict what your actually paying for and that we would get a response like that when your display pictures show that s not all there is . Disappointing for a 5 star hotel.

Additionally, we paid over AUD $520 a night. We thought we d spend New Years on their roof top. Then when we got there they said it s SGD $180 per person extra to spend New Years up there. We said we won t be drinking so we passed on the $180 but we d head up there anyhow. They said we weren t allowed. When you pay over $520 a night and you re a guest of the hotel, I find it absurd to charge and extra SGD $360 to get access to the rooftop with unlimited drinks for 5hrs when you and your partner can t even drink because one of us has a medical condition that doesn t allow drinking. Completely unreasonable and if anything, discriminatory.

With a 5 star hotel, I d expect the tiles, tile grout and caulking to be a lot cleaner.

We needed just one nights accommodation in Singapore, and picked the SO Sofitel. Easy to get to, great location and a handy Hawker Centre right next door.
The Staff where FANTASTIC ! Especially Tyson :) excellent service thanks Tyson !!!!
We will stay again at this hotel. Its close to so many things. Yes the room we had was on the smaller side, but we only needed a bed to sleep in. The room was comfy, the bed was great. A good range of free drinks and snacks in the room, as well as quality tea and coffee. The room included breakfast the next morning, which we didn't realise when booking so the value was even better !

Look forward to staying with you again, and hopefully for more nights with you !

The stay here was great - staff were great and always willing to help. The standard room was a tad on the small side - but the space was used well and was super comfortable. Would recommend and sad I didn t stay here for my whole trip.

Good location. Lau Pasat is in front for hawker food in the day and satay at night. Walking distance to China Town and Marina Bay. Room is more luxurious than standard. Room control via iPad. No view from windows. Staff were professional and ever ready to help.

From check-in to check-out, we found the staff at the hotel to be very friendly and helpful. This makes a significant difference when travelling on business. Paulo, who works in the dinning room, was particularly good. The hotel is very comfortable and clean, with facilities such as a fitness centre and pool.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is amazing, equipped with high-technology automation for convenience. Love almost everything - the varieties at the mini bar, comfort of sofa and bed, and generous, thoughtful toiletries. Good location - Hawker and 7-eleven located just at hotel doorstep.

One of the worst hotel stays I ve had in recent years.
1. The aircon in our room doesn t work - I adjusted it down to 19C and in the morning when I checked the iPad it bounced back to 26C! Also without setting the aircon the lowest the room felt very humid.
2. We were arranged to stay at the nicer and most quiet room according to the staff. Boy are you wrong. Firstly the balcony is actually an area not segregated at all among 3 rooms. And it is next to the busy Robinson road. One night the group 2 rooms next to us just sat outside the balcony and made so much noise until almost 2am.
3. Breakfast. Staff were not attentive at all, looked like they did not want to be there. We were sitting next to the windows and I constantly felt bugs around my legs and being bitten. The breakfast food was the worst I ve ever had at a 5-star hotel. (Greasy soft hash brown...)
4. I understand that the overall hotel design was done by Karl Lagerfeld, avant garde and preserving the heritage structure. But the interior design is, in my personal opinion, far from aligned to Lagerfeld s level, and makes guest very uncomfortable to stay in. The yellow stool was the ugliest piece of furniture I ve ever seen. And you can tell that the hotel renovation is getting old.
5. The hairdryer in the bathroom was those China made brandless type that you would normally find in a China 3-star hotel. Seriously? The power is so weak, and it gives out burnt smell easily.

All in all, apart from the entrance staff who was relatively more friendly and helpful with luggage, I really cannot recall any other positive factors especially to justify such price level and the brand of Sofitel.

Small lobby/ front desk, made up for by great service and high tech rooms. We stayed in a studio king, room as advertised and quite comfortable. The rooftop bar probably lacks variety of drinks but quiet if you just want to have a private drink or two with your partner.

Cool boutique hotel in the midst of high-rise buildings with good metro connection nearby (about 350m). The rooms are extremely modern, cheesy, sweet and decorated with great attention to detail. In the room everything can be operated by iPad, from the curtain over the light, air conditioning, etc.
The room was very clean, the staff friendly, chic and helpful, the breakfast delicious. On the 6th floor is the rooftop pool and invites for morning swim and in the evening when the bar is open, to sip cocktails - definitely try the Singapore Sling there
Opposite the hotel is the Lau Pa Sat Street Food Market, where you can eat fine and cheap in the evening.

Recently renovated, rooms feel bit smallish! Courteous staff make up for that. The street next turns into a open eating place in the evenings. One could walk to Marina Bay stands and Gardens by the Bay in the evenings..

Decadent buffet breakfast. Quality food despite the smaller variety. If you can find a buffet breakfast that serve tasty sauteed vegetables, nothing else will taste bad. Room was fantastic as it is decorated with a Parisian feel, definitely compensated for the lack of view.

I had lunch at the Xperience Restaurant, and I must say the service and food was amazing! Even though I was young and wearing sloppy clothing, they still were professional and kind to me. Unlike most 5 or 6 stars hotels. And the roasted beef was amazing. Reasonably priced too!

A very chic hotel in the business district of Singapore, friendly concierge, nice chic room with top of the line smart living facilities. All command in a tablet (smart tv, smart curtain, smart audio, smart lighting).

The ceiling lamp to replicate a skylight is a very nice touch to the room. Definitely will stay there again!
