I stayed in 830. I checked on next morning of my original booking. Though the room was available at the time of arrival I found the room location to be rather unsatisfactory interms of view from the windows. Given that I stayed only 3 nights of the scheduled and paid for 4 nights I thought it was a raw deal. I somehow believe my original booking was on 10th floor but was shortchanged on arrival.

I believe that this is the 6th time that we have stayed at the Sofitel in Washington DC. It is always a very pleasant experience. Very kind staff make me feel so comfortable. We received a room upgrade, which is always welcome! The beds and linens are really comfortable, the bathroom towels large and thick and fluffy.
The location can't be beat. It is a walk to just about everything one might want to do in The District, being just two blocks from the White House. Great sights and restaurants are all near by. I look forward to my next stay.

Beautiful hotel, however charges just "appeared" on my account and couldn't be explained. They put a hold on your account for $100/day for incidentals. I totally get that part. That's there just in case you drink the water, wine or snacks in the room. Supposedly, the charges should come off of the incidentals hold on your account. However, an extra $151 showed up on my account the first night. I spoke to Dwayne, the manager, who couldn't explain the charges. It was the 4th of July, and he said even though he couldn't explain why, the charges would drop off when we checked out. I played nice and trusted him. The next morning after checkout, another $252 came out of our account! And FYI, they still hadn't credited the initial $151 that they couldn't explain, as well as the $200 incidentals that should have dropped off. And yes, you guessed it, they couldn't explain where the $252 came from, but assured me they would credit it. THAT'S NOT THE POINT! Why are you charging my card for nonexistent purchases! You can't even explain where the $151 and now $252 came from. And the response is, "we will credit it." Yes....eventually! But once again, they charged my account for no reason and just expected that to be OK because they can just credit it. That's not OK! Don't charge my account for purchases that you can't explain! We expected a $100+ room service, but most definitely not $403 in addition to the $200 incidentals. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND TOTALLY FAKE! We will NEVER go back there again.

Loved this hotel. The decor is awesome, the location was great, and more than anything the staff was amazing! The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and gave us good options for dining and local nightlife.

Didn t blow my hair back... speaking of hair, took me ten minutes to find a electrical outlet for my hair dryer.

Rooms are small, and we were double charged for valet.

Ps. There no wall outlet. It s hidden on the wall magnifying mirror.

Beautiful room. They have thought of everything. Reading lamps on the head board. Handheld shower head for use while taking a bath. Vanilla creamer for my coffee. Door bells outside the door to prevent that heart attack the surprise knock on the door gives you.

The service here is very good, the room looks nice, the bed is comfortable, and the breakfast at the restaurant is good. But the closet in the room is miniscule (18-24 inches wide, perhaps) and the ironing board is one of those tiny table-top boards. For a business traveler these are somewhat important drawbacks.

This Sofitel hotel is worth every penny - the staff is nice and attentive, the breakfast was at their restaurant (because their dining room is undergoing improvements) and the food was tasty.
The rooms are very big and the bed is comfy, the bathroom has both a shower and a tub.
The hotel went above and beyond my expectations, I'll come back soon!

The experience was wonderful from the beginning to the end...well almost end. The staff was efficient, personable, and pleasant. The only issue was that we picked up an item from the mini bar but it was not eaten and we were charged or it as well as an item that we never saw. I stopped by the desk on the way out and she said it would be refunded, but it hasn't yet. It was only $18 so not that big of a deal, but still.

My fiance and I recently visited Washington DC for the first time, so location was of the utmost important! I can tell you that this hotel is located right in the center of everything. You can walk to all of the monuments and museums, but you don't feel like you are right in the hustle and bustle of everything. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff was more than accommodating. We were traveling to celebrate our recent engagement as well as my future hubby's birthday and when we arrived they had upgraded our room (no charge) and had dessert and chocolates in our room. They made you feel like you were taken care of here and I couldn't have been more happy with our stay!

The front desk checked me in hours ahead of when they had to and greeted with a smile. My whole stay was seamless and efficient. I appreciated the attention and care to the details and the rooms are really top notch. The amount of outlets is laudable and all functioning with multi usb ports... Can't wait to return soon.

Stayed here while in D.C. for a global medical conference. It's absolutely lovely. Some suites are not as spacious as one would hope, considering the hefty price, but they do turn up on the luxury. Quite sure one evening I came back to find my bed perfectly turned over, soft lighting with a note and robe on my bed, and soft classical music playing. Also, it didn't hurt at all that fresh croissants are delivered in the morning with coffee. It's just down the street from a couple popular watering holes, White House as well as a couple more famous landmarks.

Great room, Well located, great services but breakfast don't with it at all : not a fresh orange juice made, bread and sausage seems to come from a from a Wal-Mart with lowest price. Too expensive for a breakfast.

I was going to DC for a few days to visit some friends and see some sights I didn't see the last time around. The Sofitel was really well located as a nice base to explore the city to see the wholesome sights like monuments and museums.

I didn't like that the receptionist didn't ask me if I was an Accor member or not. As a result I'm not having to go through the hassle of getting the nights redeemed through the website since they weren't credit with the stay and I obviously missed out on getting the benefits during my stay.

Would definitely stay again as we felt at home, the staff were all very nice, the location is great if you're seeing the big sights in DC, and best of all they cater to dog owners. And there is no pet fee! Just a $500 security deposit that is refunded at the end of your stay.

More details... Stayed at the Sofitel and explored DC to celebrate me and my dog's same-day birthday. Usually stay at Kimpton hotels since I know they are pet friendly, but learned the Sofitel was pet friendly and it was a great location for activities we had planned. Service at the hotel was good and they were accommodating, giving us early checkin and late checkout as we asked. The room was very clean and the bed was cozy. I liked the separate shower and bathtub; the tub was standard size FYI, not a big soaking tub. We ordered room service the next morning and saw pet meals at the end of the menu. Perfect to celebrate my dog's bday. He enjoyed his salmon with rice and veggies and the human food was tasty too. After our stay, I replied to a quick satisfaction survey from the hotel and then got a personal email from the general manager. Always nice when people reach out personally. Thanks for a great stay.

Good location. Restourant breakfast is good only at fixed menu. If you want smth different, you ll have to wait and quality would be low. Nice hot complimentary cider at the lobby good at cold weather!

Excellent and friendly service from hotel staff. Was warmly welcomed by the Sofitel team upon my arrival. My room exceeded what I was expecting with more than enough outlets and ports to charge my devices.

Very nice hotel, and also very well located. Staff was very attentious and polite. Excellent accomodations.

Two remarks: breakfast should be available earlier, and late check-out (I am a Gold member) was not available.

Excelent service and very kind personnel.

Klein Paris in Washington .. Outstanding cuisine Much of the baked goods, are made in a very high quality self. Top rooms. In fair times fully booked and very expensive. Here it can happen that one finds well-known heads of state and monarchs from other countries. The hotel is located about 100 meters from the white house. Central location many attractions, restaurants and bars as well as shops within walking distance.

This is my favorite hotel in D.C. and, probably, my fourth stay there. Boutique, with personalized service and great location at Lafayette Square, close to everything, including White House. Rooms and bathrooms are well equipped and nicely decorated. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They rebranded their lounge, but it is still good, with nice bartenders and outside seating. Not really inexpensive, but good.

My favorite hotel chain. Very modern, stylish and pretty spacious. Service level does not disappoint. You are one block from the white house and a block to Starbucks if you need the morning boost. Find DC Deli on your Google map if you want to opt in the local experience and get some hot sandwich in a block distance to start your day

I m a huge fan of Sofitel wherever I go and this one did not disappoint. They re always beautiful with a French modern feeling. The beds are just the most comfortable ever. Very big bathroom with both shower and tub. The gym was quite small and no pool. I d definitely go back though.

We stayed on the top floor for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice and the bed was super comfy. We never tried the food at the hotel as we thought it was too expensive compared to all the other restaurants close to the Sofitel. Only being a couple blocks from the White House was really cool. I recommend staying here if you get the chance.

Though I didn't actually sleep there, I had 3 days of interactions with some of the valet and front door staff, and they were the most kind, accommodating, and helpful to me, even being a non-guest. When I'm older, not in school and can afford it, I would definitely spend a night there just to have the full experience the next time I'm in D.C.

We had a block of rooms. The majority of the guests were very pleased with their stay. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful with many amenities. One guest had an issue with billing, another with the room location, another with the air conditioning and we would like to have had more coffee makers available.

Great stay. Wish our room had: more hangars, bigger closet, more room to store clothing, and more intelligent use of space in the room (lots of room to the left of the bed, nothing to the right). Room was quieter than expected.

UPDATE: the staff member and the manager worked with me to make it right. Got me a new key made (caused a minor issued, being handled), waived our valet charge, and are still working to help me get my key chain back that was a gift from a Soldier of mine from our time overseas. An invaluable gift to me.

Checked in, walked to see the sights and shortly later recieved a call stating my car keys had been lost.

We stayed here for our anniversary. We got a Priceline deal. The hotel is beautiful. Whoever did the interior design knows what they are doing. There is also tea and other beverages being served at no charge in the lobby.

Location is great. We walked pretty much everywhere, and you can from here.

The carpet in our room was dated, although it sorta fit with the decor. We were nervous to touch anything like beverages because we thought we would be charged.

In fact, you feel this way continuously while in the hotel. Maybe if you're a big shot and have a lot of money to burn, you won't be intimidated by this. However, if you're just looking to have a nice time with this opportunity of a five star hotel, be ready to have some extra money set aside for hidden/not as obvious costs.

For example, parking is around 56 a night. To get around this, we found a Groupon for Union Station. You will get charged a 25 amenity fee at checkout. You will need at least 100 in your account for the deposit. And for the love of God don't eat at the restaurant. The waiters, while very polite, will come up to you asking if you want juice or tea or another beverage, making it sound like they are included. They are not. There will also be a 18% food charge or something like that on your bill. The food was amazing however.

Always very positive. I am a gold Accor member so was able to get an upgrade. My only recurring suggestion is that your coffee makers are terrible! Please opt for Nespresso makers as your sister hotels and competitors have. Special thanks goes out to the concierge staff as always, especially Germain.

We appreciate being able to check our bags in early; the room was comfortable, quiet, & clean; breakfast was good, and your staff was magnificent! My only criticism would be to add a coffee maker in the room.
