Gorgeous, extremely comfortable, luxury finishing touches, close to so many attractions and stores, front desk is helpful, kind, and professional. Front desk manager is doing a great job I cant say enough about this place besides I'm in love with it.

I stayed in this hotel during my honeymoon and it was a memorable stay. Starting from the greetings and the smile as the staff welcomes you upon the smooth check-in; in addition to the great concierge service to guide you through out the city. As for the room it was roomy, comfortable and spotless clean and I loved the amenities available at disposal. Great experience and I would love visit Sofitel DC Lafayette Square again in my visit to Washington DC.

Where do I begin...I surprised my spouse for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Valet parking was a breeze. He took our luggage and we never had to touched them again. Once we walked into the hotel our immediate reaction was, Wow! The hotel is beautiful, but the staff make it amazing. Check in was smooth and very quick. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. I called ahead and notified the staff that we were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a list of recommended restaurants and places to sight-see left in the room. Upon going to our room, to my surprise there was complimentary mineral water, a Happy Anniversary note along with fresh fruit and chocolate mousse with a white chocolate Happy Anniversary label waiting for us. (Of course I took credit for it. LOL) Germain, the concierge, kindly made dinner reservations at DC Coast for us to complement the concert we were scheduled to attend at the Kennedy Ctr. And what an amazing dining experience we had. Unfortunately, I left the concert tickets in the vehicle which was valet parked. Tim, the concierge, was kind enough to retrieve them and hand delivered them to the Resturant during dinner. Talk about service!!! Overall our stay was wonderful, but the staff also made it memorable. We look forward to returning in the near future.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel. The room had the potential to be amazing, if it were CLEAN! The bed skirt was filthy and I know it hasn t been changed in a while. Either someone spilled coffee on it or had the bottom of their shoes up against it. Either way, that s disgusting. The bathroom could ve been cleaner, but there were bottle tops under the sink and the mirror could ve used a little windex. The furniture looked as if someone was sitting on before we got there and there were also stains on it! For the money I spent here, I was expecting better quality and more cleanliness. I wouldn t stay here again and I wouldn t suggest it to my family and friends.

Great location, metro was really close and so were most sightsees(?).
Staff was awesome, Danny at the front desk was great. Contemporary look and feel, great vibe, great bar, super clean, free Wi-Fi, great service. Would definetely stay there again and recommend to friends.

Luxury! The bath products smelled so good, as did the hotel itself. And the employees were fabulous. While I waited for my taxi, one of them offered me a bottle of water and said: "Even as you are leaving us, you are very important to us." Next time I come to DC, I will definitely make an effort to go there.

Love it

The hotel is very nice and the staff were great. We did not like the fact the hotel would not offer to clean the rooms daily. I cannot understand why they would be ok cleaning rooms in-between customers, but not take the time to offer the service while we were away for the day. For the price they charge each night, I would expect a higher level of service. Additionally, most hotels and restaurants are open even during the pandemic, yet the Sofitel doesn t have anything open. Valet services, restaurant, bars etc are all closed and we had to park 2 blocks away in a parking garage set up by the hotel. I wish they would have had an arrangement with the parking garage that is literally right down the street. Not impressed and not sure if we would stay there again. There are other hotels that are almost fully open for a better price.

The location of the hotel is very good. A very nice hotel and staff very obliging. The downside was that the restaurant was only open for dinner one night, which left us to seek alternative places after a long day as a tourist.

An absolutely superb hotel in a premium location.
Close to and within walking distance of all the major sights.
We have travelled from Australia with 3 children aged 8, 10 and 11 and I can't recommend any higher the professionalism and courtesy shown by the staff. Our children were treated like rock stars instead of like bystanders by other hotels.
Top marks to the Sofitel and the staff.

The doormen are very friendly and eager to help in any way, as well as the front desk staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-appointed. You can tell that there is a French influence in the design and decor of the rooms. We had a king-size bed that was heavenly and plush.

Lovely experience at the Sofitel Lafayette. Professional yet friendly staff from entry to exit. My Mr took a point off because of no ice cream available only on the late night menu. Otherwise a great choice of hotel near the National Museum of African American History & Culture on the Mall.

It was a very memorable experience. It's all close to a metro stop and many of the DC attractions are with in walking distance. The hotel is wonderful with great amenities and a very nice staff.

This was a 40th birthday weekend for my husband and we found the hotel to be beautiful and in a great location. The bartender in the bar area was quite rude, but besides that everyone else was great.

Great hotel, beautiful and spacious rooms. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable! Gorgeous decor and very friendly staff! Walking distance to the white house and all major shops and restaurants. Absolutely recommend this hotel 100% if you re staying in DC.

If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

This is an excellent hotel. Very friendly staff. Common areas are always clean. Place smells wonderful. Very pet friendly. Nicely decorated on the inside and out. Close to all DC landmarks. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautifully appointed hotel, great location in downtown D.C, so nothing is to far away. The staff is very helpful. Value for the money is lacking though if you pay the full price of approximately $300 per night, the rooms have weighted mini bars containing $8 bottled water, and $12 pringles. The fridge is not for personal use and houses $40 mini liquor bottles, and $100 single glasses of champagne. For the price being charged you would think the water, a cookie, and an in room microwave would be included.

I booked a luxury king room through AmericanExpress Fine Hotels. Upon check in I was denied an upgrade even though it was available acvording to the Sofitel website. In addition I was put in the smallest room on the whole 10th floor (room 1008) which I do not believe is a luxury king. The day before check out I requested a late check out and after having to go back and forth with the front desk staff I was told that they had a lot of checkin the next day and the most they could give was a 1 pm check out which is just an extra hour. The Americab Express Fine Hotels program guarantees a 4pm checkout. I should not have had to negotiate. There are no coffee makers in the room, nor room in the fridge for left overs which are standard now in most hotels where I stay. The coffe and tea bar in the lounge in the morning was sparse. There was no honey, stirrers, cup sleeves or stevia. I will not be staying at this hotel again as there are many other better options.

I found all of the staff to be kind and professional. The tone of the staff was respectful and the delivery of services was excellent. The accommodations of the facility were wonderful and my needs for a comfortable stay were met. The location was perfect in that i was close enough to walk and visit the historical sites and far enough away to separate myself from other tourist and attractions to enjoy the area around the hotel.

Amazing hotel experience. This is my 2nd visit and more are planned at different locations. Easy check in, great front desk staff, and delight to see all the amenities in the room; 2 plush robes, plenty of toiletries, soaking tub, plush towels, and soft music.

I stayed her for leisure just for a night. Check in was fast and easy and I was able to get a room right away... concierge was very nice and friendly. The room itself was a bit small and dark . My biggest issue was the quality of the towels... they all looked old and worn same for the bath robe looked very used. If I were staying longer I probably would have just went to a local store to buy my own towels. Also there wasn t a trash receptacle in the bathroom.

While I probably won t be staying here again I would not necessarily discourage anyone from doing so since the customer service was diligent

On the morning we checked out we were running a bit late and my husband left his camera behind. The super helpful staff sent it over to us in the house car before our transport left, thank you

Not cheap but what a location, just round the corner from the White House and walking distance to both the Capitol and Lincoln Memorials. No hotel parking, but plenty is available locally - expect to pay $30 overnight +$20 per day Excellent cocktails in the bar and very. Helpful staff

The 4.5 star rating at the time of writing this must be due to the hotels bribe at the front desk where you get free Champagne for a five star rating! Nice but unprofessional staff, limited breakfast subpar for a five hotel and overall an outdated feeling.

We were in the mood for French for lunch, and the Sofitel has always proven to be good choice. It being a nice day, we sat outside on their patio. As usual, the food was both nicely presented and delicious. The wait staff were very attentive and helpful, even working with us to order off-menu. Whenever in town, this is a favorite spot to revisit.

Was there for a 2-day meeting. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable meeting rooms, but... The first day in a smaller room the chairs weren't as comfortable as the larger room on the second day (both on the second floor). The food (continental breakfast, lunch and snack) were outstanding. Didn't stay at the hotel, so can't comment on the guest rooms.

For the price and 5-star rating my wife and I were disappointed. Lobby is small and plain. Rooms are a decent size and bed comfortable. No fitted sheet though; just a top sheet tucked tightly around the mattress. Bathrooms are nice. Long story short, we ve stayed in Holidays Inns that we re the same quality with free breakfast for half the price. Really what you pay for at the Sofitel is the location.

Nothing but good things to say about the hotel. From the comfort of the rooms, to the overall cleanliness of the hotel we were more than pleased with our stay. We enjoyed ourselves so much we even extended our stay a night.

From the moment we checked in we were treated like royalty! We just can't say enough about this hotel and the staff are by far the best I've ever experienced. It was my first visit to DC and when I come back I will definitely stay at Sofitel again! The room was perfect, nice comfy bed and the room was kept immaculate at all times. At night the room was nice and quiet which made for a restful night! Breakfast at home just isn't the same, I've been spoiled by Taofiq! We miss you all!

Me and my husband had stayed in a room that was completely unsatisfying due to the fact the shower tile broke with my son in the bathroom. Luckily the manger upgraded our room and had given us a very nice complimentary breakfast. I was very pleased with the management and staff at this hotel. Will be returning again sometime in the near future.

Simply amazing hotel, with great service and wonderful rooms. The price is a premium but it is well worth it if you want a romantic getaway. Also the location is primo literally minutes from the white house by walking.
