Sofitel Brisbane Central Reviews

I don't usually do bad reviews but today is an exception. We got into reception and were waiting to be seen to but the reception desk was unattended for a good 5 minutes during which time we were completely ignored by all staff. Once we got our room keys we were told the incorrect floor which had us going up and down the lift trying to figure it out for ourselves. We tried using the phone outside the lift but no one picked up. Ended up having to go back down to reception for the correct floor. It would be helpful to have room numbers and their floors listed in the lift. Finally get to our room and find the lighting is attrocious. One good light would be better than lamps around the room.

Great location. Very well maintained and managed. Quiet and comfortable.

Fabulous for so many reasons. Location was a huge plus, just step out and you are THERE. Facilities- excellent with something for everyone, exotic Day Spa, lovely pool, most excellent restaurant choices. ALL the staff that I had contact with were exceptionally well mannered yet friendly as well, going the extra mile to make sure I was being looked after. Room was smallish but beautiful, enjoyed views, huge desk and comfort. Bed was heaven, nescafe pod machine was a nice touch. Highly recommend breakfast and for economy try the bistro downstairs for super cheap meals at " mates rates" for guests. (Happy hour is great too, 5-7pm $5 - not bad!) Some people complain about the candles in the huge foyer, but I thoroughly enjoyed the almost ritualistic experience of seeing them lit in the late afternoon and the beautiful aromatherapy fragrance that enhanced the experience of staying at this hotel... Add this one to your bucket list - superb!

My overall experience at Sofitel Brisbane was great, rooms were very spacious, beds were very comfy and service staff were friendly. The only let down was the breakfast how can Sofitel justify charging guests $49.00 for breakfast. The food is average at best you're better off eating breakfast elsewhere. Food choices were limited compared to other hotels, the Mocha I ordered was bland and watery . Would not recommend guests to pay a obscene amount for a mediocre experience.

Fantastic service: friendly but professional, informative but not pushy or condescending. Genuine right down to the French lady at check in. Pity the constant 'Bonjour's from the other staff didn't sound as good, but stop best customer service I've had from hotel in a while! Location was perfect: right on top of central station and short walk to mall with plenty of food, shopping and entertainment nearby. Room was slightly dated but immaculately presented. Food in restaurant and as room service was delicious. Snagged this stay as mystery wotif deal - best we've had yet!

Staff are ALWAYS ever so happy to help with any situation and work as an excellent team. Very happy with our stay. So luxurious.

From the moment we stepped into the Sofitel Brisbane Central we were treated like royalty. Very helpful. Brilliant service. Amazing food. Made our 30th wedding anniversary so memorable and special. Beautiful, highly recommend high tea. Wonderful food & staff.

I was invited for dinner at the Digital for a friend's birthday and from the time the doorman opened my taxi door the service was excellent. The restaurants staff were very obliging and warm without any air of pretention that often comes with a restaurant of this caliber. The food was delicious and well presented. Over all it was a really good experience.

We had the seafood buffet, it was okay, but very expensive for what it was.

Visit one of the best hotels in Brisbane. The service is an absolute 5 star and nothing less. Helpful staff and concierge services. The appearance is neat from the gardens to the front door and host many conference facilities in the heart of Brisbane CBD, with a taxi service form 13Cabs and Black and White cabs.

Staff always go above and beyond, Very Friendly. Great rooms and very central.

Always a classy place to go, and a great place to eat, especially if you are an Advantage Plus member.

I went there for a social dinner with a few friends, very enjoyable and the food was delicious

Connected to the central station just a short escalator ride below. The front staff is adequately staffed and are very helpful. Each room is equipped with a convertor which is great for us travelling from us/canada.

Good location, walking distance to south bank. Train Station right in the hotel premises you don't need to go out. So happy we got this hotel. Got early check in and late check out.

An excellent hotel brilliantly located above central station for hassle ( traffic) free transport to the airport and gold coast

A very pleasant environment. The food was delicious and had a nice variety of seafood and meat, it was a spectacular layout for dining. I liked having the buffet with my family here and I won't mind coming here again because the staff was welcoming and always tending to your refills. And thank you kind waiter for the chocolate box and the cake before we left.

Great place for drinks at the lobby, eat, relax and easily access by public transport.

I had the breakfast buffet at the Thyme2 restaurant.

$39 dollars well spent, definitely 5 star, I was very impressed and very satisfied when I left.

Incredible amount and variety of food.

The Indian? man serving us was very friendly and good to chat to, I liked how he was going around asking people for feedback about their experience and how they were doing, I thanked him at the end and wished him a good day.

You also have a few others that will make lots of different coffee's/tea for you.

I liked watching chefs make omelette's and other ways to cook eggs at the station.

What I really enjoyed was Vegetable Frittatta, Banana Honey Smoothie, Eggs Benedict, and their huge selection of bread which can be toasted.

Also enjoyed the fish, breakfast cereals, cheese and meats available.

They have a lot of different milk options to try and cater for everyone's needs, I have the lite and soy milk.

Excellent hotel. Service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent as always, although I've noticed it isn't as extensive than it used to be.

We went to see jackie Gillies shine it up live and wow she was out of this world great place Valet parking was great bat was good good night out

I can't comment on the accommodation aspect as I have not stayed here. I have been to the Thyme 2 restaurant and have been impressed on both occasions. Good deals to be had if you're an Accor loyalty member.

Great location for conference. Very central. Food supplied was pretty good although a little limited in choices. Was disappointed with the drink options. Coffee or water. I dont drink coffee so water it was i guess.

Lovely entrance and bar area. But OMG $56 for 2 classes of wine and it wasn't even top shelf wine. What a joke. That is the cost of a bottle of super nanny goat pinot noir. Really guys. I will pass on this place.

Very nice upscale hotel in an excellent location within the city. The buffet is very good as well as the al a cart restraunt. If you have club sofitel access the lounge on the 30th floor offers beautiful views of the city. Staff are all very helpful and cheerful throughout.

Easy parking, lovely greeting, quick and caring customer service, nice pool, simple but quiet rooms, fantastic food (had the seafood buffet, included sand crab, mud crab, oysters, prawns, mussels and bugs!!).. breakfast was great too (included champagne). Overall one of my favourite stays in Brisbane city.

Having stayed here over 10 to 15 times, I can not reccommend the Sofitel more highly... being a member of the Accor loyalty program, I have been effortlessly upgraded each time I have stayed and have enjoyed such benefits as the Sofitel Club, which offers some of Brisbane's finest views and canapes...

It's nice in here but way over priced for what it is.

Attended an expo in the function area here and found everything to be nice and tidy.

Great food, central rail and bus, next to central parks including South Bank and main city outside malls, warm and lots of nooks to chill in and friendly.

Room was ok, but the view was bad. Hotel service and staff was great.

One of my favourite foyers in the city. A great place to meet friends for a drink in the bar or dinner with family in one of the restaurants.

Stay a night here for my 10yrs anniversary, got a really warm welcoming from the receptionist. As soon as we enter the room, received a champagne, choc cake and a hand -writing letter from the hotel manager. Got a upgrade of the room. Make me feel very special, perfect memories. Thank you the team of Sofitel.

Nice hotel well placed.but take rooms as high as possible since there is no double glass on the windows...result street noise is for free! Same for the room temperature too cold at night...too hot summer...quite special for a 5 stars?

Stayed on one of the club Sofitel floors. Apart from the loud banging from the gym above my room during the day my stay was excellent. The staff are attentive to your needs. Quality service from a quality hotel.

Seafood buffet didn't disappoint, even with the price tag! Great service and the more popular items such as the Tiger prawns and Moreton bag bugs were always in plentiful supply.
