Beautiful interior and design. Very instagramable place, so if you want nice photos you should definitely go here. We had a breakfast during our stay in London. The food was good but nothing special considering the super high prices. 60 pounds for a breakfast for two is a bit too much in my opinion.

Beautiful place, very nicely designed and lovely for pictures and drink. Been here on two occasions, once for drinks which was great and second time to try out their afternoon tea as I've heard so much about. We arrived and I was happily surprised they had my favorite White Jasmine tea. Food was not more than average, as I have a gluten free and dairy free diet (which is actually, not that hard to accommodate) they seemed to struggle. Sandwiches was alright. Scones was very bad, served with margarine.
For lecture and the library room, the word perfection is the only one suitable here. Perfect tasting menu, wine and service. The room is briliantly decorated and it feels if you are treated like a King or Queen.
We had been recommended to visit this very interesting bar. Well worth it, a memorable experience. Music by DJ but not so loud you couldn't talk with one another. Drinks were pricey, but hey ho, don't get to visit our Capital that often!
What a cute place! From the unique bathrooms to the delicious food, this place does not disappoint! It's a little bit on the pricey side, but the atmosphere makes up for it! Although the tea room is great, I'd recommend trying the bunch experience at The Glade! Whichever room you choose, it'll be an experience to remember!
We had lunch in Sketch s Glade room. The location is truly unique and, for many, may be worth the trip and price in and of itself. In addition, the service, from start to finish. Was excellent.
Unfortunately, that s where the rave review ends as the food left much to the imagination. We started with the Shellfish bisque. This was the highlight and we especially enjoyed the floating bread and cheese.
For our mains, we had the Sea Bream and Rossini beef fillet. The former was fine, the latter was unappetizing. I couldn t stomach the truffle sauce.
It was our wedding anniversary yesterday. I booked into The Library for lunch. From the moment we arrived we were surrounded by the most attentive staff who went way beyond a normal lunch experience. I could not recommend this restaurant highly, the quality and detail of the food was heavenly. That however will be only one part of an amazing memory. Thank you
Words cannot describe how much I love their cream tea. This place is a feast for both your eyes and your stomach. Highly recommend their champagne cream tea. It's so much fun.
Booking is an absolute must but it is well worth the wait and you can ask for a box to take home anything you are too stuffed to eat
Sketch, a two star Michelin restaurant gives a sense of great expectation before anyone tries it for the first time; however I was neither impressed or disappointed. To achieve one or more Michelin stars, I believe a restaurant needs to really push the boundaries of the culinary world and create beautiful and unique tastes and sensation, and a service to really blow you away. From my experience, I had a subtle hint of this, and perhaps in the pass this restaurant truley did manage to achieve this but I felt that they have long forgotten that sense. I struggle to see them holding onto their stars. I had the tasting menu with dover sole and duck as two mains, the sole was cooked beautifully but slightly tarnished with a sort of beetroot yoghurt on top. The duck was thinly sliced along the tendon lines which created chewy lines across soft delicate sous vide duck. The tasting menu was filled with, what i would describe, as incredibly strange and disappointing. There was one side dish that stood out the most was the mackrel jelly which left a horrible fishy and gooey taste. Overall the menu was crammed full of gelatine amd gimmicky ways of presenting raw food. We informed the sommelier, who was our first point of contact for at least 15mins, that we didn't drink alcohol. this information did not get passed on and unwittingly when ordering the tasting menu there was alcohol in a number of the side dishes.
A first afternoon tea for most of us on a trip to London. Mom, daughters and granddaughters all agree Sketch was a highlight. Beautiful and colorful decor, tasty sandwiches and cakes, the food kept coming and we enjoyed every artful bite. 12 year old got the child tea and she loved the marshmallows, fruit punch tea, and the take home teddy bear sporting a sketch sweater. Very memorable and well worth the price.
Very interesting and creative place, lots of cool art. In gallery part - loud music and only 2 vegetarian main meals, small but very tasty portion. Staff is super nice :)
My sister, my 10 month old niece and I went for afternoon tea today in the Sketch Gallery. It was on both of our bucket lists to go here and it didn t disappoint. The staff were so accommodating with regards to my nieces buggy and helped us around and provided us with a high chair when needed. The service was great and staff were really attentive. We had the regular afternoon tea, with delicious sandwiches cakes and scones, they also provide goody bags if you can t manage everything! The addition of a string trio made for a wonderful atmosphere. We weren t rushed out after our 2 hour slot and the whole afternoon was really enjoyable. Looking forward to my next visit!
Not sure if the service is truly up to the standard of a three star restaurant, but the atmosphere & food make up for it.
They have a vegetarian & non-vegetarian tasting menu, as well as separate starters & entrees.
Sommelier was eager to lecture on why he couldn't make a recommendation, which meant a discussion of different wines until he finally chose a bottle. Would have much preferred a set of wines served by the glass and paired to each course, but that didn't seem to be available.
Waiters are friendly and match your attitude, and of course there are many of them.
What a disappointment!!! We visited for afternoon tea. The food was terrible! Most of it was inedible; the scones were cold, dry, and tasted stale. The salmon tasted like it had gone bad. The sandwiches were bland and dry. The service was just as bad; very slow, lots of blunders. Staff was very condescending. They seated us at a table for 5 even though we made a reservation for 6 people a month in advance. (they required a credit card to reserve) Considering the extremely high price, the food should have been amazing. The one bright spot was the tropical punch tea and the live musicians were good.
We visited recently for the full tasting menu in the Library & Reading Room. I have no idea how this restaurant has 3 Michelin stars; the food is incredibly bland and in some cases actually unpleasant. The decor would have been interesting if it wasn't for the depressing music we were subjected to all evening. The service is stuffy and uptight.
Fantastic afternoon tea with champagne. Whilst they say the sandwiches, scones and tea are bottomless they can be slow to serve (couldn't help feel like it was on purpose...)
This place is very different and super fun. Service is excellent from the moment you walk in and are greeted. There are many options at this multi-venue restaurant/bar from fine dining on the top level to more of a swanky casual pink seat dining room below and 3 seperate and very unique bar and small bite areas. Restrooms on the landing are individual pods...you have to go experince this fun place. We enjoyed it, will definately go back. The food, drinks and service were wonderful.
Artsy place with great cocktails! Pink room was just a little too busy for my liking but the rest of it is otherwise a go-to place for drinks and music.
The decor and service is amazing. Normally I rate a restaurant primarily for the food. Their food is really good. But the decor is something to behold!
Fantastic decor, atmosphere, cocktail list and excellent service. Many different rooms offering different experiences ! Sketch has been known for years but never fails to deliver a great time from dusk to dawn.
Great and contemporary afternoon tea style. The tea room is so pink and cute.Every single afternoon tea items is delicious. You can't go wrong.Book online first before you go.
I really REALLY wanted to like this place. My sister and I really wanted to go, and I saved up to afford it knowing it was pricey but hearing it was totally worth it. We went in for dinner and were told we were a bit early for dinner, and to come back in half an hour. We asked if there would be seats and they said if we spoke to the host (a second host?) he could reserve seats for us. We spoke to the host and he didn't take our names or anything, but he said he could seat us if we came back at a certain time. We left and came back at exactly that time and we were told there were no more tables left for dinner. I told them the second host they sent us to said he would hold a seat for us, and she let us in to speak to him. Thankfully he remembered us, but I'm not sure what the point of having two hosts was. When we got our seat, our waiter told us that their debit/credit card machine was down due to a Europe-wide problem that had been happening for a few days. He said the same thing to another table next to us, and the man at that table was not having it. Neither were we - we were on a trip of a few places in Europe, and had had no problems. We also saw other tables paying with cards. If there was genuinely a problem with their machines, I believe them and that's totally fine, but I felt like I was being lied to as to why there was a problem. My sister had to leave the restaurant to take out enough cash to pay. We wanted to order a few appetizers and drinks to split, and were told that the restaurant's policy was that each person had to order a meal. My sister, as a vegetarian, only had one option on that menu - lentils. Basically just a bowl of lentils. I had the fish and chips, and it was soggy, and the potatoes were unseasoned. There was an hour and a half time limit for dinner, so after having to leave to get cash (in a city we didn't know) we had to scarf down our food. When we paid in cash, including the tip that was recommended on the receipt, our waiter stood there and counted the cash in front of us before he walked away from our table. And then I started to feel like maybe there wasn't a problem with the credit card machines, but that they thought we looked poor or something and wanted us to pay with cash. Not only did I not have a good meal there, I felt incredibly uncomfortable in the atmosphere they created, like I was being judged or something. Yes, the decor is beautiful. So if you look affluent and can abide by all their rules and don't mind paying a lot for food that's just okay, sure, eat here. But there are lots of other pretty things to take pictures of in London, so if that's the reason you're going to this restaurant, skip it. (Photo below is a still of a video I took while I was there that was on my Instagram story.)
unique place to eat and daydream. seems like one of the it places to go. different theme rooms. loved the Alice in wonderland feeling room with the bar food was good.
Rude, self indulgent stuck up bar tenders. Especially the guy in the front bar on the 4th of December 2018. Nice Decore although the staff act like they own the place and are not there for service.
You do not go there for the food, you go there for the entertaining cliental. The two bars are absolutely outstanding and worth just looking at. Well done!
Interesting interior bound to catch you and spin you into a world of imagination. The bars whilst serving the same wine list are rather different from each other and a world apart from the main Resturant in terms of look and feel ... That said even the toilets here get people talking.
Let me start off by saying while I did enjoy my visit, I most likely won't be returning. The restaurant is very very cute and each room has a different theme that will satisfy your Instagram aesthetic needs. However, it is extremely pricey for what you get - mediocre food. I had the afternoon tea set myself and despite all the choices, I probably enjoyed one sandwich. The rest were just average - something that I could buy at a grocery store.
I do think this is a very cute place and worth visiting once for the experience. However, stick to the cheaper a la carte options rather than choosing the hefty $60+ afternoon tea option. Also, even if you don't have to use the restrooms, go. The egg shaped stalls are incredibly interesting.
The place is as beautiful as you would expect and more! The staff is also very attentive, helpful and friendly (or at least the girl at security guy, the girl receptionist and the blonde guy who took our orders, were). Food is obviously pricey, but I think worth it. I have nothing to complain about!
Me and my sister visited Sketch for my 23rd birthday and we booked a table in The Gallery room. Overall, the place was lovely and the staff were very attentive. It is very expensive (which was totally expected for this type of place), however, in my opinion, the food was only mediocre (might just be a personal taste issue though) which made me think that it wasn't really worth it...
Prototype decor and very good quality of drinks. Also I was really amazed by their politeness and their professionalism. Well done for your excellent job!
Great selection of teas and cocktails! Menu is pretty interesting, but meat heavy, so vegetarians your selections are limited. Breakfast ends early, and then it's a lunch menu. Something to be aware of for weekend brunch. Excellent selection of teas and cakes. Loved the rose bud tea! Really cool decor and atmosphere as well. Worth a visit to see that alone!
If you like pretentious overpriced restaurants that serve appetizers as oppose to an actual meal and are happy to leave them hungry, then this is the place for you.
The owners should be ashamed! And the toilets are pathetic.
Really cool place! Loved the decor in all the rooms. The pod bathrooms are a little small and hard to navigate but I really enjoyed the food and cocktails - I wish they would have had an Easter brunch in the pink room but they only had tea! I'll have to try that next time.
Really interesting decor. Food is probably more 1 Michelin star than two but the 'event' warrants two. Their are 2 restaurants and 3 bars to pick from so look carefully for what you want..
Without question, the best afternoon tea in town. Sorry Ritz! However my back was continuously bashed by waiters coming and going, in and out of a swinging double door. It definitely made the experience less relaxing than planned.
Beautiful place, the food is great and the overall experience is just amazing. Not too happy about them not allowing us to share an afternoon tea, it doesn t make sense and it just comes across as them being greedy with our money. They told us instead we could have takeaway, that pretty much everyone gets takeaway there, so I think it shows the fact that it s an issue that they won t let you share a huge plate just because it s their policy . Might be there again or might not.
Best in the area. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff. Large portions and good food at reasonable prices (especially given portion sizes). Awesome spot for any occasion, drinks and good eats. The happy vibe of this place makes it a really good experience.
Oh Lord it s a beautiful place great interiors ! Great for photos. I went there for drinks only, with a little queue at the door. Not surprising as it s a Popular place.
Right from the Gorgeous gentleman at the door - Ash .
To the lovely waiters at the Glade. They made me laugh. Great experience! I will do it again
Had a lovely afternoon tea at Sketch. Huge selection of (unlimited) loose leaf teas and several quirky courses. The washrooms must be the most instagrammed in London?
wish i could give this 0 star review. the dinner was overpriced and awful. the only good thing was the decor and egg toilets. the staff all had a stick up their arse and forced two of my girlfriends to sit at the bar instead of sitting the More
The best thing i like in it is its beautiful Combination of art and dinner experience It has super friendly staff and the food was very delicious.there was a very good atmosphere.super fast service it will be an ideal place to do birthday party and have snacks with family or friends if you visit London you should visit this fantastic place.
For the price, I was a little disappointed, that's why only 3 stars. The upholstery in the pink room has seen better days, the chairs are a bit worn. We were sat by the entrance and there was a cold draft, could do with some doors. When we asked for the bill the waitress disappeared and never came back. 3 stars mainly for the amount of food you get, it's a lot.
Very nice drinks and such an experience to visit! Its obviously very expensive but I recommend going for a drink if you cant afford a meal just to be able to see the place, It's so cool!
There are many caveats about this restaurant. It is not where you would eat regularly, it s special occasionish, so (as a business) does not need to be especially subtle in its approach or, notably, good value. It is constantly vying for your attention (the sommelier (who is then only floor staff member who is allowed to take your drinks order), the 3D fork menu, the in-restaurant DJ, the 2010 toilet odyssey, the laying the cutlery upside down) and so is constantly exposing itself to success or failure. Sketch makes itself difficult to review by virtue of doing so much at the same time, but, judged on lower denominators, such as what I put in my mouth , it is a very good restaurant, deserved of its reputation as somewhere you should definitely eat in before you die. That is not to say that the higher denominator factors are universal failures; the decor is excellent, the service is good (overbearing and unsubtle but efficient and thoughtful which is still all you need to be taken care of) and the fact that a DJ is rotating in the corner doesn t make the music bad. However, you can of course eat as well and better in restaurants with fewer accoutrements and with a much smaller bill, or you can eat as well (maybe not better) in restaurants with fewer accoutrements but a beautiful view (and the same sized bill).
An enchanting afternoon tea experience. Captivating decor, kind staff that happily accommodate any needs, and unlimited sandwiches and tea. I enjoyed the Iron Buddha and will dream of the warm scones. The cocktails are also delicious and refreshing. A highlight of my trip to London!
I thought this place was really fun. There are a few rooms and we were seated in the front room. There back rooms had more of an interesting vibe, but clearly the restrooms were there star. Pretty sure I saw at least five people capturing just the perfect Instagram picture. We are brunch there and the food was ok.
Mixed feelings about this visit. The staff, sommelier, interior design, the crazy egg-bathrooms and the atmosphere were all really good. We received great service and got great recommendations regarding the wine from the sommelier. But the most important part was sometimes lacking in quality. The flavours were missing salt and some components were a bit dry which took its toll on the overall experience. And relative to the very expensive price and knowing it is a 2-star Michelin restaurant, one shouldn't have to point out the essentials. What I did like about the food however was the new combination of flavours that really challenged my "usual" food experience. But considering the value-for-money, I'm not sure if I can actually recommend Sketch.
Pay for the ambience and IG pics. that s pretty much it. Afternoon tea tasted like play-do. Would recommend corinthia or mandarin oriental instead if you re looking for quality.
Lovely afternoon tea, never disappoints. Beautiful tea room, helpful staff. Scones were delicious and so was the tea and pastries. Loos are so nice. Individual little pods.
I. MEAN. WOW! Yes, it was my daughter that discovered this, the most "Instagrammable" restaurant in London, and yes we loved-loved the bathrooms, which are the coolest ever - but each bite of the food was delicious! Service immpecable - so definitely go, even when your teenager begs you!
One of my all time favourite places in London. Quirky interior, good menu for any occasion and one of the best afternoon tea places in London! It s sure is special!
