The place is overrated

Had a dinner booking at the 3 Michelin star Lecture Room & Library in Sketch. Firstly the entrance is very interesting with the snow and decorations, proceed up the left side stairs beyond the velvet ropes for the lecture room and library. Staff are exceptionally well manned and it's clear they're well trained. Going out of their way to ensure the Customers were comfortable. The food was good and the tasting menu did skew more towards desserts, so if you have a sweet tooth it's great. But it did not really give off a genuine 3 star vibe. The floors creeked and sent shock waves as the waiters walked past repeatedly.

Wow!!! The service was amazing and the food was good. We go to the afternoon tea, in the gallery room. The room is so beautiful, don t forget to visit the toilets, they are really beautiful too and the design of the room is so creative. Maybe a little bit overpriced but this place is amazing and must to visit in London.
We came to the afternoon tea without a lunch before and it was enough food and we are satisfied and even take some of the food for take away, so don t eat lunch before!

Quirky, lively restaurant with a good selection of food at a range of prices depending on where you are booking. Excellent service

I use to really like sketch, but over the years it has turned into Disneyland for adults. The quality of the food and service has gone down hill. The atmosphere is lost to the sound of the staff putting putting dishes away and knocking the back of your chair every time they squeeze past your seat and the over crowding of the space. The food has become very American and is no longer art french. I miss the amazing food sketch use to have and well as the old art smart chic and finesse.

What else can one say? Sketch was amazing!

We went to the Library room for a most fabulous lunch. We started off with a glass of champagne followed by various selections from the la carte menu along with several half bottles of wine. The sommelier was fantastic as well guiding us along with selections for our meal as well as some new wines we'd normally never try.

The entire experience while pricey was well worth it, if you haven't been to a 1 star restaurant though I'd do that first for a comparison between 1 & 2 stars.

Beautiful rooms. Phenomenal toilets that have to be seen to be believed! Would recommend booking in advance as very busy and may have to wait an hour to be seated for drinks. Nevertheless a fab place to visit but probably best to book first.

sketch is truly an amazing place. One of my favourite restaurants I've ever been at. The interior design is spectacular. Different themes and lots of little hidden details. The service was excellent and the food was also very good.

Although the ambiance was beautiful, we were left wondering if the chef had called in sick the day that we dined.

Every dish left us puzzled as to the combination of flavors which were chosen. Rather than complimenting each other, the flavors clashed to the point where I found myself eating charred bread to get the taste out of my mouth.

After having the waiter spoon Guinness foam onto the wrong dish, I asked if they had made a mistake. To the contrary, I was told that it was the menu that was printed wrong. Seems like a two star michelin restaurant should surely be able to afford to reprint the menus to accurately reflect what is being served.

After being there for 3 hours (I wish I were exaggerating) we had to ask for them to hurry up and serve the dessert so we could finally wrap up and leave. Of the 9 desserts they served us, not a single one was decent.

When it came time for the check, we noticed a donation of 1 pound was included on there on our behalf to a charity I never heard of. I do not mind donating, but this seemed like a ridiculous thing to include on a bill of over $600. Typically, you would see the restaurant donating their profit to charity, not charging you for it.

Needless to say, we left beyond disappointed. Easily the worst "michelin rated" restaurant I have ever visited.

Super cool restaurants, bars, tea rooms with loads of different propositions in the same establishment. Highly recommend it as there is always a great vibe, superb service, and great choices.

What an experience! We had afternoon tea in The Gallery; great service, attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing; great flavours and very presentable. A special belated birthday treat enjoyed by all.

Booked here for Mother s Day , had an amazing evening we really enjoyed the food and the wonderful decor not to mention the interesting loos , however the best thing about Sketch was the staff and service , if only more restaurants paid this much attention to their employees , who in turn create a great experience for your customers.
Can t wait to return

Very disappointing from how I remembered Sketch a while ago. There was almost nothing I liked about what was in the Afternoon tea selection and the last piece of sponge cake made it worse. I probably won t return again

Live the english experience at Sketch, a little expensive but you will have a great experience.

Went there with high expectations as my boyfriend kept on saying how amazing it was. But really sad to find it was an overrated Michelin restaurant. The service was good, but not spectacular for a two Michelin star restaurant. The deco is interesting if you are a Instagram fanatic. But the food was so so... So salty that you basically can't taste the original flavor of the ingredients both for appetizer and the main. Luckily there is not much salt in the dessert. I guess the salt was on sale, so basically you buy one get one free

Lovely vibrant artistic place with a most delicious afternoon tea. The staff are so well- organised into different roles and work hard at making it a memorable experience.

Sketch is located on Conduit Street. Oxford Circus is the closest underground station and is situated about 200 metres to the north of the restaurant.

Sketch is a contemporary restaurant with a fusion of European cuisines.

Beautiful setting, very grand and opulent. We came here for the highly rated tasting menu but was utterly disappointed.
Although the service was amazing, we felt the plates were just so underwhelming in taste and imagination.
For the price, there are so many other better tasting menus in london. Not worth the hype!

Delicious food with excellent service is a MUST GO

One of the very unusual places in London. Contains different rooms and bars and all in different styles, so you could have unforgettable experience of enjoying 'few' places at once. Lovely food, high class service and egg shaped toilets. Evening there will be fun and delight.

An amazing experience for every sense. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave three hours later. Food was mind blowingly good. Wine recommendation perfect. Service immaculate. Unlike many upscale restaurant, here you don t feel uncomfortable being more casual and relaxed. By far the best dinner I had in my life. My partner shares the sentiment. If you wonder whether it s worth the visit- it is. Finally, it s an experience type of restaurant where you leave completely full and don t to pop in for a pizza afterwords unlike many similar places

For all it s glory and long queues outside it s a heavily themed restaurant, no matter how good their food and drinks it will always be known as an IG destination. Delicious cocktails, mind bendingly expensive.

They have a number of different rooms where you can stay and either have a drink or an actual meal and they re all great! I love the different atmosphere each room has and let s not even talk about how sweet the staff are. Definitely recommend and definitely coming again. Ps: Don t forget to take a picture in their toilet

Can t believe how rude the receptionist is, I will never come back again. We are extremely disappointed!!!!!!

Inner design was breathtaking. Very original, and catchy, extremely complex and colourful and still managed to not tire out the eye, coming said from a person who isn t easily impressed I think also has its values.
Very wide range of food variety. Dietary, such as vegan/vegetarian, gluten free, etc. options were present. Every plate seemed to represent the perfect outcome of experimentations of foods which would have never been categorised together otherwise.
Staff was extremely friendly, always assuring that we were having an enjoyable evening and gave us some laughs through their good sense of humour.
Would definitely recommend for all types of special events or even for a simple night out. The experience apart from being entertaining, is definitely worth it.

Overrated, food average, drinks pricey & fast-food service

Cocktails are super great, it s a funky spot with the most bizarre toilets ever. It s a place to come for cocktails. The food was good, but super pricey for portion sizes!

If you are in London this place is a must visit. Be careful and book way in advance to avoid disappointment. Lunch is a better experience if you keen the check out the entire place, but break fast was great. Porridge is must try and so is the poached eggs.
So much history to this place that it carries an awe. I would highly recommend this place to every traveller visiting London. The cutlery, the style, the ambience, the staff every thing is 7 star.

Well worth a visit! The unique decor of each room gives a very through-the-looking-glass vibe. One gets to love and feel the modern art decor with the added bonus of a tasty beverage or two. I'll have to pay another visit to give the food a sample.

Food is very good and Mayfair pricing. The crazy interior design from the tables to chairs to bar to the toilets will make it a memorable place. #selfielevel 8

Unconventional, peculiar, quirky... A few words come to mind when trying to describe this cocktail bar, restaurant, disco, lounge, etc ... place. I saw many people reviews had a few words about the toilets... "Just go to the toilets", "fanciest toilets in town"... Well, I paid a visit and all I can say is that I hope the disco bar beneath the toilets area doesn't serve the type of Ale that comes from what lies above its ceiling... Jokes aside, it's a good place to visit to surprise friends. It's pricey - quite pricey - but location and decorations dictates in this category here. Also, the staff are great and gracefully polite and... don't forget going to the toilets.

Outstanding in all categories. In the cafe section, food was served on fine tableware, was creative, perfectly seasoned and reasonably priced. Interior has a highly creative layout, is spacious and seats comfortable. The service is high standard.

The high tea here is a must do! Probably the best scones I have ever had - could eat 10 in a row!!
The restaurant itself is great and lots of fun! It is very well decorated with lots of different frames on the wall! Toilets need to be visited for a fun experience as well.

The price is high but for good reason. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming. The food was great especially the scones, and the waitress gave great recommendations on the wide verity of tea. The bathrooms really fun as the decor was an experience in itself. I went with my mother on a trip to London and it is located in a beautiful area close to attractions. Make sure to book in advance to visit this beautiful restaurant!

My boyfriend and I went to the David Shrigley Gallery on a Friday night. The service was absolutely stunning, with an incredibly knowledgeable Sommelier and professional host who was able to tell us as much about their dishes as about the story behind Sketch. They also serve great vegetarian dishes (the bouillon with Ravioli was really good although a bit small), so it is perfect for a date night. Definitely try out the Panna Cotta dessert- I'm sure you'll be surprised!

Pricey, but for the price, ITS WORTH IT! EGG TOILETS?! You feel like you're in a sci fi flick one minute, then in the pink room you feel like you're in breakfast at tiffanies! Fantastic place. Wonderful art, well trained staff, overall an experience to remember!

Simply lovely place to be, we are lunch in The Glade room which was beautiful but the other areas looked amazing as well. Our server was Rosalia, and she was wonderful, willing to look through the menu with us and talk about the venue/ the artist who designed The Glade. It was a very cool experience & I would highly recommend.

The food is very well presented which compliments the taste in a delightful way. Unfortunately the service is terrible, no one is intersted in taking your orders, I had to ask 5 times to order my food & had to order my drinks from a separate waiter which then took 35 minutes to arrive at the table. They then have the cheek to place a service charge on the bill which when asked to be taken off the attitude went from poor to disgraceful!
Plenty of better quality restaurants near by regarding food and service. Would not recommend

Breakfast in Glade, really nice experience, service was good and food was fab.

It's touristy and overpriced but could be a neat experience. Be ready to be next to people endlessly taking pictures

So what to say the place is lovely great decor, beautiful art on the wall, the bathrooms are exceptional. But it s just good for the photos. The service was a disaster got here a twelve for afternoon tea and it took us a total of 3 hours and a half to get served all courses. The food was alright but again nothing great about it. I wouldn t come again and I won t have a lasting memory of the food I ate. Expensive for what you are actually getting. By all means go and have a look at the room which is impressive. But I was expecting good food and it was mediocre at best. Still thanks for having us!

Such an overrated place I must say. I don t really get it to be honest. Expensive food which was nothing over the ordinary and just a big pink square room...however the service was great, the sommelier was awesome as well as bartenders at the bar area, if not for drinks the toilets are reason enough to go there.

Decor and food were okay. Crowded tables, bad lighting. Service was horrible. We were seated/had our orders delivered the same time as the two tables around us. Huge discrepancy in explanations of the food between us and the guests around us - ours were short and lack of details - not sure if the staff were racists or assumed we either didn t understand English or had a lack of interest?

Missed our tea order - again the guests around us all had their tea for long and we had to follow up. Afterwards, a server ignored our request and walked away.

Service had not improved since my 2014 visit. Or maybe it had worsened? Will not return.

Beautiful and quirky restaurant, food was 'nice' but I have to say the service was amazing never felt so welcomed and the older guy (maybe Italian?) that shows you to the tables is very funny thank you for making our experience unforgettable

The interior is just amazing and worth the visit alone. We had dinner at The Gallery. The drinks and most of the food was good. I just had the feeling the food came a bit too fast. The made me feel I m in a rush and didn t have enough time to feel cozy.

We all know this is an expensive place, but it is definitely worth the price for the experience!

A trending hip restaurant in London where they divide the whole place into individual area with different design. Definitely an interesting spot to visit for their interior design. But the food and service is rather disappointing- booked a table for 2 online on Friday night for Saturday lunch the next day, to my surprise it wasn t full. The food was well presented and I personally felt that they are lacking remarkable touch of taste. We ordered a drink each they were both good and 2-course set lunch at The Glade. Approaching the end of the lunch while I was having a coffee we were politely asked to return the table because the next customer was waiting for the table but it was only 1 hour after we seated and our reservation was for 1.5 hours. The waitress even asked if we were late for our reservation which we weren t. I asked them to double check our reservation and later they told me it was some sort of mis-arrangement of the reception and we could stay for another 30 mins as per reservation. We had great conversation with this waitress along our lunch and we were not mad but our mood was clearly ruined. Suggest to come for a drink and you still get to see the interior.

The staff here are amazing. They catered to my many allergies and intolerances with no complaints. A bit slow to serve tea.

We loved Sketch so much we came back for dinner after having lunch there!!!!! Each dining room is a different concept and so worthy of checking them all out! Dinner in the Gallery (most instagrammed restuarant of all time) was wonderful! Delicious food! Helpful staff! Very fun and a bit of quirk for food measure!!!! We need more concept restaurants like this in the world!!!!

The place is really nice! Worth visiting the toilets, quite peculiar! The staff is extremely friendly and polite. Mains in the set lunch menu are spectacular (I would recommend the beef cheek), starters are good (my favourtire the foie), but i would not order desserts!A bit expensive, but worthy for a special ocassion.

What a magical experience. I ve never had high tea before and I am glad this place was my first. Have to come back for drinks and eat.The violinists play such beautiful songs, it s breathtaking. Overall experience was above expected .

Loved our tea at Sketch! Three glasses of champaigne, there grape juice and two tea came in a little steep at $282 USD though! We did make the best of it and stayed 2.5 hours though!

In London is easy to get disappointed when talk about food.... Reading the other experiences I felt a bit unsure about... After have tried the breakfast and the service I could say that I'm very happy and satisfied! Food was fresh and staff very kind and available! The atmosphere of the breakfast room let you feel so relaxed .... Also the decorations are so lovely! Will come back for an afternoon tea for sure next time!

Decor and ambiance are incredible but food and service were subpar for our meal. Lots of staff on hand but seemingly difficult to get anything done. Definitely recommend checking it out for a drink (and a visit to the loo).

Sketch is one of my favourite places in town. Always great music and variety of bars, makes you feel like you are in a special place. Restaurant opens until later hours and the menue caters for various tastes.

The service was good for most of the evening. The table turnaround time is quite strict because they are very busy so we didn't have time for dessert. The waitress brushed past the amount of time we had left for pur reservation so our options were to rush the dessert, eat it at the bar (which was only offered after we queried how much time we had left), or skip it altogether. 2 hours is not enough time to enjoy all three courses so try to go earlier or later so you can really enjoy the food.

It would be nice to see some more variety on the menu, or an alternative menu for vegetarians as there are limited options on the main menu. The truffle mac and cheese side was delicious and could be a nice hearty vegetarian main.

Great little adventure, great drinks and service. My only qualm was some Really stuck up groups of people looking down their noses at everyone else going about their business like they shouldn t be there. But hey, this is Mayfair, what can you expect!

Bloody hell.. if you're in London and not stopping in for some sort of food or beverage (recommend beverage) would love to hear what's beating it out on your itinerary. This is an absolute must. Interiors, ambiance, staff, and overall experience takes all the 5 stars google has to offer. We haven't even elaborated on the bathrooms..

Such unique interior design and decorations. Love it! The afternoon tea we had weren't as superb as the decor but still definitely worth a visit.

The place is beautiful, the service even tho they are atentive it was very slow it took them around 40min to bring our main course plus another 20 for the dessert plus 15 more for a glass of champagne, they also forgot one of our starters. We did not like the fact that the busboys wear an outfit so different from the waiters it feels a bit classist but maybe we could have overlooked it if it had not been for the fact that the lady who cleans the bathroom wears a maid dress and scrubs the floor on her knees!!! (Yes we saw it and could NOT believe our eyes) it s 2019 please change that ASAP!! We know we won t be going back no matter how hip and cool the place is until they change the uniforms. It can also be dangerous for the lady who cleans the bathroom to be there, alone considering that the bathrooms are mixed and each toilet is inside and egg like capsule that is pretty much sound proof so.... add drunk men to that and make the math!

Loved the ambience, service and experience. Slightly disappointed in the only vegetarian option being the well used risotto.... Would have been great to see more imagination in that department. My meat eating companion had no quibbles.
