Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center Reviews

Well appointed vacation destination. This property boasts an excellent assortment of ammenities sure to please any audiance, and at a reasonable price. I have noted that the price at this property is very stable, which is usually an indication of quality. I rate the value for the price at a 4.1 out of 5. Points lost for the lack of complimentary WiFi (except the lobby). This policy is prohibitive and could be burried in the price at a dollar a person. It would probably be more profitable than the current system. It is probably a bid to get people within throwing distance of the timeshare sales people (we had zero issues with this, no pressure at all). This is probably less relevant now that the property offers All Inclusive packages. The WiFi quality ia poor in general, save your money.

The location is great. A short walk from the world famous Malecon Boardwalk, close to shopping and plenty of Mexican culture/cuisine. The downside is the foreshore is not sandy; however the beach has lots of character. There is plenty of sand and beach chairs a little higher up near the pool and also a short walk down the beach. The ocean is still a ton of fun and thrre are plenty of waves. Please watch for weather and wildlife warnings. The grounds and gardens are stunning and well maintained. I rate the location a 3.9 out of 5.

Upon arrival we were greated with friendly bell hop staff and a tasteful semi enclosed lobby. Check-in was quick and pleasant. I rate the check in a 4.0 out of 5. Points lost for the lack of individual attention upon arrival, and "wow factor" by comparrison to new and renovated properties. We stayed for 7 days on the All Inclusive package.

We were travelling in a party of six (three couples) and the room locations were excellent and the rooms themselves were quite large. We technically had "garden view" rooms, though all three had full or patial ocean views and were seconds from the lobby and pools. We did note a cleanliness issue specifically on the floors in all three rooms. This issue was easily rectified upon request. I feel the hotel is missing out on an opportunity for guest experience points. A light tropical scent in the floor cleaner would be extremely well received and could even have "brand potential". Just thought I would mention it if the management is reading this. The huge king bed was comfortable and the sheets were fresh. The AC works really well. I rate the rooms 4.1 out of 5. I would suggest that the new and newly renovated rooms, based on what I saw of them, would rate in the high 4's. We were in the original side of the resort.

The food here was great and we had many satisfying meals. Take advantage of the poolside snacks (mmm pizza) and room service from the get go, you won't regret it. The seafood stands tall at all locations in this resort. We had stellar service and an excellent meal at the Italian restaurant, highly recommend. Secondly the lobby/gastro-bar is a hidden gem right in plain sight. Hand made cocktails, pub food and gourmet options (seafood!) as well make this place a huge win. No reservation or dress code required and the live music certainly didn't hurt. The buffet offers a large variety of options and is a no brainer for breakfast and lunch. Avoid it at Sunday brunch. The lineup is crazy, the variety is the same as regular days give or take, and it is open to the public. Not worth it unless you are coming from a different resort. The only complaint I have is the reservation policy at most of the restaurants. Keep the flagship goutmet restaurant reservation only, and transition to a standard restaurant model for the rest (or thereabouts). This is clearly a cost saving attempt. A mixed reservation/walk in model would likely improve guest experience. In fact profit margins would probably increase as guest ratings would likely improve by a couple of points, and rates could be raised at an additional profit percentage.

The pools are heated, clean and equipped with activities. Make sure you ignore the "towels on a chair" policy or you may be a row back from the pool.

We booked A 5 days all inclusive hotel, the stay was ok but all the time they try to add more stuff and not everything was included.

Excellent service, the staff always with a smile and willing to attend. Pleasant facilities and the best are the views. Very good location, close to the town and a good distance from the boardwalk. A good place to vacation!

Very expensive, careful because there are hedgehogs on their beaches, the internet must pay extra, 200 pesos per day, the food is very expensive and not very good

The location was the main reason for our stay since it's close to downtown. The resort is top notch and the room we stayed in had a great view of the ocean.

This resort scores tops for location and amenities. The Sheraton Hotel also has good food and spa options. Try the hot & cold therapy retreat. It's both refreshing and relaxing.

Undoubtedly, an excellent vacation resort, the facilities very beautiful, remodeled, the services of excellent quality, the friendly treatment of everything Sheraton is great, a great variety of food and exquisite drinks, good game dynamics for children and adults in swimming pools , an unforgettable vacation spot.

Have spent week vacations here several times in last 20 years. Great location to be able to walk to downtown spots and enjoy local restaurants. Rooms are fantastic and service at the resort is the best. All of the staff is very friendly and very helpful. I'll be back.

I just returned from a fantastic 7 night stay at this awesome resort, all of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Both my family and friends enjoyed all of the amenities this beautiful facility has to offer. A special shout out to the pool staff; Jorge and Oscar for their great service!! Hope to return in the near future.

This place is beyond amazing!!! The staff at this resort is exceptional! I've never received the level of service provided by the staff here, they've made me and my fiance like royalty. The location is prime, and the beach is awesome! And other than a few guests who aren't as conscious about wearing their face masks, I've felt very safe and comfortable. Well worth the all inclusive, too. Definitely stay here, you will have a good time! In this incredibly difficult time, I'm glad I booked with the Sheraton Buganvilias!

Very attentive, many children very familiar and luxurious place

Without words ... This type of hotels are always a guarantee ... I recommend asking for an 11th floor and an ocean view ... The sound of the sea at this level is incredible ... The wonderful view ... The sunset I talk ... It is definitely worth every peso you pay !!! Nothing much more careful to pay ... Very aware of what to leave guarantee ... Then they want to charge more and without you realize ...

Great all inclusive resort, complete with waterfall pool and swim up bar. Nice well maintained beach area with cabanas. Friendly, fun, and fast staff. Great food with large selection. Only a mile from the Malecon nightlife and shopping area. Over all beautiful resort with well kept grounds. A little on the high side on the price, but it is a Sheraton and right on the beach.

The resort is good food just ok but beware of the time share sharks very aggressive and keep passing you to another shark after telling you the promotion is over. Each person is more aggressive than the last. The final straw was when the last person told me his boss was watching us on a security camera and he had to keep showing me options so he wouldn't get in trouble. Really how stupid does he think I am. Then he sent me to a guy in the lobby and told me to get promotion gifts but that guy tried to get me to go to a promotion at another hotel. Beware of the sharks.

I did not like it for several reasons. In principle, upon arrival the staff is unfriendly, and insist on speaking in English (perhaps, due to the large number of American guests). The decoration, as well as the furniture and finishes are in bad taste. Internet service must be paid separately and is expensive, the same happens with food, prices are high. I suggest not to accept sales talks or promotional invitations, the sales team of that hotel borders on rudeness. I suggest you meet Fiesta Americana, which is very close and much more beautiful. Really liked this resort. Rooms were nice. Service was great. Staff was friendly. Didn t experience pushy time share sales. Proximity to town is nice. Would definitely return and recommend.

Excellent option to enjoy Sunday, costs less than $ 500 brunch and you can eat until 2 pm, you can also use the pools until 8pm

Bad attention, the maid did not even sweep, the servibar did not appear until the 4th day, the bottles with water have to be ordered more than once, well, they do not miss anything good, if they can look for another option to stay.

Great location in proximity to the city and good pools. Would give a higher rating if rooms were updated which are in process.

Nice hotel and very expensive, but very bad service and the beach is not very nice. Care must be taken with the eryeds are poisonous (they are black with peaks usually found on rocks)
But at least me and our family do not return to that hotel

Great resort with lots of restaurant options. Very good pools and pool bar facility. Negatives include - SPG GOLD does not get you the lounge access though. Late check out was another problem for gold members. Had to fight for it.

Overall 4star as the service was excellent. All of them were professional and had a great smile. Kudos to the service professionals for the 4star rating.

Excellent place to vacation, food a la carte good option if you do not want buffet, weak point the rocky beach, and the attitude of the waiter Javier in the viilita restaurant, since he always attended me very unwillingly, the other staff very well !!!

Excellent sunsets can be appreciated from this beautiful place, the service of all the people who work here is excellent. Only the beach has a lot of rocks and it's hard to get into a start after you get used to it

Nice place, great service. The beach is not the best, very hard to swim in and really rocky sand. At night time and morning, the cleanup is extremely loud. They have garbage carts and you can hear them up to the 8th floor. If you come here to party, its a great place. But not to rest. Its definitely not a hotel to rest. And also, really annoying salespersons when you go out of the elevator to offer you time share.

Everything is excellent, the view of the sea is pleasant, the food very rich except the staff of waiters (Angel) since every time we went to the restaurant we wanted to attend with the intention of not putting any food or drink so that we could be paid with effective, apparently all the staff is contaminated with this type of strategies to take advantage of the guest.

If you have experienced a true 5 star resort and expect at least a 4.5 star at this one; dont go to SHERATON BUGANVILIAS IN PUERTO VALLARTA
This Hotel was sold to me as a 4.5 and its NOT. Its barely a 3 ! The pictures are a lie!! Obviously not everyone has experienced a true 5 star resort but if you had dont go to SHERATON BUGANVILIAS IN PUERTO VALLARTA unless you want to be disappointed.
2. Staff at bars are rude and inattentive. One has to keep tipping so they act nice and serve you.
3. Someone stole money from my husband's wallet and nobody did anything about it.

4. We had to wait for at least 15min to enter one of the restaurants, even though we had a reservation. When we finally got in, it took at least 40min for us to get something to eat and I ended up going to the buffet next door to get something to eat.
5. Servers need need need training!!! They have absolutely no organization. It took them for ever to sit us at the buffet. Thee servers didnt even know which tables we being used.
6. They were doing renovations which is good but I heard more the construction noise than the sound of the ocean waves!!
7. The food was mediocre and no variety. The desserts were tasteless and flies and bees were stuck to everything. And glasses were hot and made my cold drink warm!
8. The A/C was on all the time and the room still felt hot. They advertise a "mini bar" Its just a mini fridge with 1 beer 2 sodas 1 juice and a bag of nuts. Im not a big drinker but calling that a mini bar is a Joke!
9.They asked us for our room number EVERY TIME we got food or drinks. Soo annoying!! We had the all inclusive package and still had to be giving our room number!!! Also they wouldn't let us order from certain menus because "we were All inclusive " Hello!!! Do you know what all inclusive means?!
Thats why you have the bracelet!!! By the way they have at least 5 different bracelet colors and no one of the employees knows the meaning of them.

This was a waste of vacation!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK! THIS STAYED MADE ME MORE MAD,FRUSTRATED AND DISGUSTED THAN RELAXED. I WASTED MY MONEY AND TIME.

Excellent for groups and conventions, sun sand and sea the perfect combination for a relaxing stay, in addition to the ease and proximity of the typical and picturesque village with its beautiful seawall that melts the sea with the mountain we visited and you will not regret

The food is generally excellent, and for the most part servi e is outstanding. Staff are very friendly and patient. Service and quality in the alacarts can vary widely, particularly in the Giovantis gastro-restaurant. (Had a great meal there, and then had one of the worst. With half the items we ordered not being available, and the items we did order came out nothing like they did the last time we ordered them.)

The beach is a little rocky, but still ok. Unfortunately in our case there was a sea urchin warning so we did not get a lot of use out of the ocean. There are two pools, one quiet pool with a jacuzzi and then the main pool. Both are great, but the main pool does look like it will need a refresh very soon.

Free WiFi is only available in the lobby, which is really annoying for an all inclusive resort of this calibre. It would also be nice if they made available some cards or board games in the evening when people are gathered around the lobby bar or nightclub. (We asked, and we're told they were only available during the day.)

Beautiful views, excellent location. There is a lack of entertainment.

Excellent grounds, beach and pools. Staff are great! Some have been working there for 12+ years and remember my family! And as one of the waiters said, "Anything is possible!"

Very nice place, very attentive staff, but it lacks variety in the restaurant buffet either at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It does not have a snack restaurant near the pool and further expand the restaurant hours. They run it as a resort but it lacks many things to achieve it.

The service is perfect and clean. The dishes and the buffet buffet was nice. But we couldn't eat mexican food.
