Good food and service, prices high but not outrageous for the upscale offerings

Tried this place in the past with a friend and I am obsessed since then. I love the great ambience and delightful food and beverages. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best kosher wagyu steak you'll ever have!

I have gone to Shallot's every year pretty much for the past 9 years because the big radiology meeting is in Chicago every year after Thanksgiving, so I have seen the restaurant change over the years. This year I was blown away with the changes. If you haven't been to Shallots since they changed chefs in the past year, then you haven't seen what they have now on the menu. There is no comparison. The sushi is **AMAZING**!! I mean I have eaten the best sushi in the NYC area from Sushi Metsuyan, China Glatt and Prime Grill, (and Fumio in Livingston) and in my opinion this is at the absolute top, on par with the very best. I found it no more pricey than the best NYC restaurants, and well worth it. Service and ambience were lovely, a great place to bring business dinners. The rest of the meat menu looked tantalizing, but the sushi was so good and so varied I chose to eat only sushi. My friends' steaks looked absolutely awesome, though. The spider sushi flambe was spectacular in both taste and presentation. The Japanese nachos were very tasty and interesting, unlike anything I've ever tasted, and I am a fan of unique dishes. Desserts were great. Even the tea was great, the way they serve it in individual teapots which they refill. Hard to imagine a fancier menu than what they now have. I can't wait to go back. Used to be I could never get any kosher sushi in Chicago, now they have some of the best anywhere. Even if you are not a sushi lover like me, the meat and fish dishes are really varied and intricate, and impressive. This restaurant is not overpriced, it is on par with regular expensive restaurants and the quality far exceeds the price in my opinion. Go ahead and treat yourself once in a while, it is well worth it.

Service staff are unbelievable. I probably ate the best/ freshest sushi here. We got about 5 rolls to share for the table.

I had a burger which was delicious. You get what you pay for.

We got 4 appetizers to share - grilled steak pincho, chicken brochettes, caesar salad and sesame chili cauliflower. Everything was delicious! We also got the peanut butter silk pie for dessert - amazing!

Shallots is a favorite of mine. The ambiance is fine dining: white tablecloths, cloth napkins, beautiful decor. The staff are courteous and professional. The food is delicious. The menu has a great selection of classic French style dishes with modern taste in mind.

No gluten-free choices other than ordering a $20 sandwich and skipping the bun? Really?

WHY did I come?
I came to this steakhouse because I heard ppl travel from NY to eat here and head back, that sounds sick or stupid or both... So I was a half hour away at the so called mega houseware show and worked up a appetite .. I came to investigate is this really so good..
EXPERIENCE:
We were seated by a AWESOME waiter Daniel.. the guy was amazing.. I told him listen up, let s cut the menu thing... show me what steaks and dishes to ppl travel from NY for.. We ended up ordering 3 Steaks, 1, The MEGA mouth watering wagu steak, Daniel explained this is the best of the best because in its lifetime it was massaged daily..lol grass fed.. and after slaughter was wet aged for a few months. 2 the Yummy dry aged prime rib eye. 3 the SUPER DELISH Delmonico steak
ALL 3 STEAKS WERE SOOO DELICIOUS SUPER TENDER AND SO TASTY

What a great Dining experience, the food is perfect and the service was out standing, we told the waiter that we are on the way to catch a flight and they served us very promptly, I also appreciate their portable chargers they loaned us while dining, we had Filet Mignon with grilled artichoke both were just perfect and juicy, I live in NYC and I would fly in just for the dining experience, I have to get some excuse for my business, SEE YOU AGAIN

Excellent Waitress who was familiar with the grand offerings throughout the entire menu. She was patient, able to ask the questions of the customers to help pinpoint those appetizers, soups and main courses that would meet their satisfaction & budget. She allowed the time and demonstrated patience & care. She was knowledgeable. Perfect service.

We ordered the beef carapace and the tempura asparagus for appetizers and schezuan chicken and natural prime steak for entree the beef carapace was amazing and the crispy asparagus had a great sauce on them an the steak was perfectly cooked and very good worth the flight from nj

Everything is so tasty and good here. One of the best steaks I ve ever eaten. It s a very upscale and fancy designed restaurant with a wide range of wine selection. Feels cozy and romantic. Good for business meetings as well. All the dishes we tried were perfectly cooked and delicious. The service is top notch, the waiters pay attention to all the details. Clean and neat. I d recommend this place. However, be careful, it s extremely expensive.

Very pricey! Some foods were not up to par for me. I had a problem with the eggplant not being peeled. I couldn't chew it! I would think it should be peeled since you can't eat it.

For years I have heard how great this place is but honestly was disappointed. Ambience is great, but service is lacking, food did not measure up to the sky high prices. The fish on crackers was great though.

We enjoy to go out. Yesterday we visited this excellent restaurant which friends recommended to us. We had a delightful experience there with very good cooking and a nice crew and a talented cuisine. We put this place in our list and we shall no doubt return soon. We highly recommend.

Manager is a total Shmuck. Pretends to be nice but really couldn't give a s**t about you. His attitude is horrible.

Used to be good. Now way over priced ($500 for 4), and never has wine in stock. Get ready for 4 wine selection all over $100 per bottle. Not worth it.
