Nice environment and excellent service. Grace and Kendall at the counter were friendly and helpful; happy to accommodate a custom order.

Absolutely fabulous. Loved that they carry Ale-8-One!
this place is very slow and the employees are inefficient and disorganized. i hope the food i bought will be worth the outrageous prices i paid. they say it is.
Whoa! So good. The coffee...DELICIOUS! The quiche... FANTASTIC! The pie...I'd slap my real mama for a piece of any of their pies!
I enjoyed this place a lot! Go here if you are in the mood for pies, sandwiches, or coffee. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey.
It only got two stars because I spent the whole afternoon writing a research essay and they didn't bother me at all. Coffee and free wifi got it another star. However, their pie is nauseating. I had a slice of banana cream because it is one of my favorite things in the entire world. The pie itself was the equivalent of pouring sugar down your throat. GROSS! The bananas were cold, the custard/pudding was basically overly sweetened whipped cream and who put white chocolate on this pie? I took 3 bites and threw the rest of it out. It also doesn't help their cause that each piece is $6. I can make a whole pie for that much at home (trust me, I do it all the time). What a shame. I had such high expectations and I was let down big time.
Great place to have a cup of coffee or glass of milk with a piece of pie. Wonderful staff.
Pies are delicious. People are very friendly. Did I mention that the pies are delicious??
Long lines and kind of loud but the coffee is great. I just wish they had one thing that is dairy free. Would be such a nice treat
I have tried several pastries here. I always order the honey cinnamon latte, it is sweet but I feel better having honey than any kind of sugar. I recently tried a buttermilk biscuit with strawberry jam and it is delicious. The biscuit is soft, well layered and, the crust is perfect.
Some of the best quiche I've had in the area, tender and flaky crust, delicious fillings!
Despite the rapid service and delightful food , the service was a very unpleasant experience. The red head at the bar was Extremely rude to me. Horrible experience for my first time there. It is quit shameful that the employees do not Match the standards to what this cute place could have.
Very good food, chicken pot pie will fill you up, and tastes amazing. The 'sweet' pies are always changing and always pretty delicious. Loses a star for being always packed to the point you almost have to fight for a table (double edged sword being popular), and they seriously need a pager system or a PA or something, when it's busy it's almost impossible to hear they call you up for your order in my experience.
Oh so delicious and a bit pricey. Outdoor seating with shade. Always busy. Get there early if you need a particular pie.
Great pie, pastries, sandwiches and coffee but service at the register can be very slow.
One of my favorite study spots with excellent dessert options. Highly recommend the pie flight - three half slices of rotating daily pies available after 6 pm for only $8. Today I tried out the chocolate cream, sour cream rhubarb, and bourban pecan. All were phenomenal, though I think the rhubarb was my favorite - very creamy and tart with a nice crumble.
Pecan pie was much looser than I am used to. The chocolate cream pie is super rich, and was too much for me by myself.
Always enjoy their selection of pies! Especially the hand pies!
Best pie anywhere. Try the Jeffersonville or Fat Elvis if you love your chocolate.
Absolutely fantastic experience here. I was able to ask questions about ingredients with some of their foods that I was unfamiliar with , their prices were great and their food came out delicious. Can't wait to make this a regular breakfast spot for me and my boyfriend. Thanks for the great service! :)
What's better than a delicious slice of pie on pi day? Two slices of pie! Better yet, make that three slices of pie! They offer 3 half slices for $8 after 6p... caveat: you have to choose from a shorten list and dine in. I decided on apple (classic), chocolate creme (smooth & rich), and orange creme (like an orange creamsicle with a delicious pecan graham cracker crust).
Really loved the pies. The lamb is delicious. Can be super packed but the outdoor seating makes it easy. Beautiful setup make dine-in the best. Located in cool neighborhood. Paid parking along the street. Loved going here. Definitely recommended.
Friendly staff and fast service. The music is a little loud but it's a very comfortable atmosphere.
Love love love this place.
Great coffee, delicious pies. Experienced and friendly baristas. Deli style counter service so listen for when your name is called.
Best. Pies. EVER! great coffee, pleasant atmosphere...
I had a piece of there pie last night. First time. Went home, and was sick as a dog. Felt like I was going to die. Never again will I return.
A great trendy place to meet friends in Evanston. Staff is nice and ready to serve. Lot of outdoor seating and families are welcome.
My aunt told me to try this place out because she loved the pies here. I got the apple pie. Not only was the apple pie amazing, but the coffee was great here too. The decor and atmosphere here was amazing. We got the special, seasonal latte. It tasted fresh and nice. Delicious, cute place to try out.
Omg, the coffee here was AMAZING. I just can't even tell you how good it was and it was just a basic drip coffee. The atmosphere was so cool too- sort of industrial, but it felt so homey at the same time, and it's also quite a big space. The cashier who helped me was absolutely lovely. Even their bathroom was cute. 10/10 would recommend.
How do I Love your Pies??? Let me count the ways....amazing tasting ol' school modern pies
Oh my gosh every pie I've tried here has just been the very best pie in the world.
Great place to get homework done and have good coffee
Breathing space has finally arrived for the hard-working pastry chefs and kitchen staff of Hoosier Mama. From a tiny Ukrainian Village outlet, this crew has produced first-rate pies, pastries and more, spawning national recognition, and now, they have a brand-new place to flash those wonderful wares. Do not pass up those scones! I had the chocolate-chip version on my first trip, and it was delightfully moist but also flaky. Sandwiches are great too, served on fresh bread with generous portion sizes. My third-trip to the store led me straight for a cortado and classic apple pie, both outstanding. My only "complaint" is slight: I wish the space were a little less "new," a little more cozy with the homely patina of its original location. But take that "indier-than-thou" comment with a generous grain of salt, this place is sure to please and is a welcome addition to Evanston.
Reasonable prices for expertly crafted food. Excellent place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!
i want to love this place, but there's always lots of cranky laptop people. Cheer up!
The bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is awesome And their cold brew is worth the trip all by itself. Friendly staff and beautiful space.
Great variety of food and drink options. Bright, open space. Yummy desserts!
Delicious pies and hot chocolate was yummy. Huge focus on being eco/enviro friendly.
Great pie and coffee. I had the Apple Raspberry with Pecans crumble pie. Daily Pie selection split between fruit and cream pies. Note; also serve savory pies, too. Coffee was great. I had the dark roast. Good flavor yet not too strong.
Go for breakfast, get the quiche and cry with happiness. If you don't feel like a full cry, get the breakfast sandwich and slowly weep with joy. Go back for lunch and get the hand pies and contemplate what you've been doing with your life before this moment. Return after dinner and get one of their fresh baked pies. If you get the chocolate cream pie, you may need to lie down until you've returned to our plane of existence.
Great coffee and even better pie! Love the feel of this place and the friendly staff. Why would anyone go to a national chain when spots like this exist?
Awesome spot. Especially with Bang Bang right inside
super friendly staff, serves decent coffee and great pastries
This is one of my favorite places. The staff are all SO friendly, they've set up great covid precautions, and everything on their menu is delicious. I can't wait until its safe to open back up fully, I used to love hanging out here!
Ran in here to pick up some lunch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Got three different slices of savory pie: chicken tomatilla, roasted veggie and lamb curry. I only had the tomatilla and it was very good; my office mate had the other two and he said they were also very good. The inside is very cute and cozy; when warm, they have a patio area outside. If you've not had Hoosier Mama Pie, I would suggest having a savory and sweet one-just to make sure you get the full experience.
Always a delight for that special treat- food is excellent! For the occasional higher calorie meal (bread, pastry crust, pie) you won't be disappointed. They always have diverse variety of pie which is not to be missed.
Best pies in Chicago, and the coffee's not too shabby either.
Great recipes and great food. The only thing is that sometimes the wait times are little more than desired, but it's really good and so most of the time it's totally worth it.
A relaxed, family friendly place. But , please, do keep the kids under control because there are older patrons too & some have service animals on duty. Food is good & some dishes are seasonal. Wifi is available, so study groups are seasonal as well. A very sociable place to met a friend at.
The pies were amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful! If I lived in Evanston, this place would quickly become an addiction.
Took someone there today from work and it was beyond any expectation I could imagine had the chicken pot pie which was amazing and then I had a piece of chocolate pie in a cup of coffee. If we're up to me I would have never left ... possibly stay for dinner :-)
I'll Savory and sweet pies are good. Not really any pricier than other bakeries for their pies and they have a very good selection. Good place to go for lunch too
Best pie, period. I m partial to the sugar cream and rarely deviate unless it s sold out. I don t recommend coming EOD for your favorite pie because it s most likely gone by then. Clean bathrooms, self-serve water tap, nice outdoor seating, and plenty of trust-fund baby snobbery to entertain you. A go-to date night spot.
Terrific savory pies! Great veggie options. Particularly fond of their Roasted Veggie Savory Pie and the Mushroom Leek Hand Pie.
The chicken pot pie was very delicious and the passion fruit meringue was tangy and flavorful. The staff were super friendly. There is also a board by the back of house that lists their ingredient suppliers. Their pies will pretty much change your life.
Food is good. Quiche is recommended. They have coffee, bakery items, big pies from apple, blueberry, key lime to chocolate mouse
Awesome, huge shop, big bright spaces. Delicious, usual coffee selections and baked goods. Lots of spots to sit, read, work, chat, etc. I had a particularly pleasant visit as the young lady behind the counter, Grace, was FULL of Christmas cheer!
