I saw a modern version of A Mid- Summers Night Dream. The venue is a marvel to see and be inside. The ticket prices vary according to whether you stand or be seated. Definitely worth a visit in any bodies book. I do recommend it.

The guide was great but you have to be there by 12 30 No where in the London Pass did we see that listed and 2 other couples arrived at the same time we did in the afternoon and said they did not see it anywhere
In a rush to catch the very last tour, so I did not get all I could have from the exhibit, but our guide Angie was MAGNIFICENT. I teach Shakespeare and have done quite a bit of research, but she made it all come alive. Needs to be ON the stage as well as in front of it!
It is essential to visit if you are a lover of Shakespeare. Small theater but very beautiful. It has its charm. It is worth the guided tour to know all kinds of details.
The tours are awesome. It was great to learn about the history of the current building and how it came to be. I haven't seen a show there but I can only imagine how fun it would be.
Superb open-air theater. A must see for Shakespeare lovers, while ticket prices are reasonable. Bring warm clothes if you are not going in summer, as the parts can last nearly 3 hours.
Magical place even when it wasn't performance season. Excellent guided tour. The guide was an actor and director. Great his "performance". He managed that one could move in time. Applause for those who support this undertaking to maintain this fundamental part of the history of theater, literature, art and culture. BRAVO!!!
We had a lovely time here for a show. We came to the evening show of Pericles. Fantastic cast! They were hilarious. The show lasted a bit over 2 hours, with an intermission. We sat at the top. A bit hard if you're afraid of heights! I recommend the lower middle section. The gift shop has lots of neat gifts for the Shakespeare fan. I would definitely come again! The volunteers are extremely helpful.
Amazing Place, loaded with history. The exhibitions are very interesting, costumes, history, etc ... The visit to the theater makes you think of the working conditions of the actors in the era of Shakespeare. Enjoyment very much.
We love going to the Globe. The atmosphere is great. Seating is basic, but we know that and it doesn't put us off from seeing the plays....always get a cushion! And try and get seats with backs as we take the mother in law.
Excellent guided tour in the morning. Hillarious performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in the evening. Experience Shakespeare's theatre and his plays as a 'groundling' for 5 pounds only.
Very cool experience, plays are cheap but sell out days in advance, so buy your tickets soon if your interested. Also tickets are cheap so it's worth it for sure.
Authentic recreation of Shakespeare's Globe theater. Watched a modernized version of 12th Night. Cast was very energetic and loud enough to be heard in the top rows of the theater. The adaptation was thoroughly entertaining. Although we occasionally had trouble with the English brogue, it didn't effect our overall enjoyment. Highly recommend going.
Experience the plays of the greatest English writer. The existing Globe Theatre is situated on the site of the Elizabeth 1 theatre of the same name. Shakespeare's plays and more are performed for those wanting a cultural night out.
We got a great guide, a native English, wonderfully told about the theater, very funny, the time passed extremely quickly, the theater beautifully reproduced, in the middle there are student rehearsals, high ticket prices.
What an experience to see Shakespeare in the Globe! Worth every pound! Would have expected this to have the very best actors, but we were a bit disappointed.
Incredible performance. Book seats on either side as seats facing the stage also face the sun! Groundlings pay only 5 gbp if you don't mind standing for three hours.
Emblematic site where the original theater of Shakespeare was installed. I give it 4 stars simply because it is not the original because, as in many big cities it happened many years ago, the original was grass of the flames. Interesting to look for references about the theaters and their area in London as well as the role these played in the society of that time. If you walk a little farther on that side of the river towards the London Bridge, you will find quaint pubs of the time where you can eat and drink in true London style. Of course, if you walk around when the sun has already fallen, I advise you to be careful with the runners :)
A great environment in which to watch the offerings of the bawdy bard. Standing places and seats are available. We know the stories so this is about the "original" presentation but with a uniqueness provided by the players on the day; especially how they deal with the "metal birds" (helicopters) interrupting the proceedings. If you aren't standing in the stalls then remember to take a cushion, the wooden benches are not at all soft!
My daughter is a thespian and stared in a Shakespeare production last year so this was on the top of her must see attractions in London. Didn't disappoint.. tour was informative and the guide was entertaining. Worth a visit and great stuff in the store
Amazing place, and a lovely welsh guide(Sorry, can't remember your name) that made lot of funny jokes and explained every.single.think. about the theatre and Shakespeare. Loved it!!!
Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse for which William Shakespeare wrote his plays, in the London Borough of Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames ideally located just yards from southwark bridge close walking distance from borough market and London bridge station both underground & overground trains, excellent place to visit ticket price reasonable
Really great visit. Definitely worth going on a guided tour, get so much more information than if you went on your own. I did the tour by myself in a group of randoms but the tour guide was really good in getting everyone to feel comfortable. The information inside is also amazing. Highly recommend it.
Theater modeled on the original Globe. Leadership was good but entry is expensive for what is offered. I wouldn't necessarily do it on my first visit to London.
Historical significance aside, the building is clean, organized, and my wife and I were able to pick up our tickets and get inside easily and quickly. The show (Romeo and Juliet) was likewise wonderful. It was great when the actors expanded the show beyond the stage and performed parts from the crowd.
I didn't try the food but prices seemed reasonable for theatre refreshments.
Saw Henry V here, in the seated section. I really enjoyed the venue and the performance. The most annoying part we're some audience members I sat near, but that's not in the control of the venue.
Had a great experience here watching Romeo and Juliet, nice wine and great atmosphere. You really feel as though you're part of the production you're watching. There are super cheap tickets available if you can stand for long periods, More
