Loved visiting here! My biggest disappointment was we didn't have time to view the museum before the tour.

Pur tour guide turned what could have been a dry and boring tour into something enjoyable and funny. They talk about why this location was chosen for thr Globe and where you can go to see the original location. Apparently they still put on plays here which is awesome!

We had someond in a wheel chair on our tour (they coule walk with help) and that person was able to do everything on our tour, including visiting the seats in the Globe. To be fair, I don't know if they have a lift for that part if the person couldn't walk.

Interesting hearing so much about the Globe, what it used to be like, what they've done to make it similar, and what they do there!

I saw a rendition of the Midsummernight's Dream here. Fabulous! The ideas, the costumes, the interaction with the crowd, the music (marching band sound) - and even though my daughter knows English to a limited degree, she engaged in the play and understood what it was about. Thank you, Globe Crew!
Plus: it was a terribly hot day, the globe gave out water and paper hats to the auditorium for free.

A visit to London is not complete without a trip to Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Nestled right along the River Thames, you have to stop by for a nice evening performance of your favourite play followed by a promenade along the water. However, it is recommended that you avoid the standing section as it is often filled with students who can be quite rude and disrupt your enjoyment. #Oktoberwurst

While the venue itself is fine, one of the staff there was rude, condescending, and racist towards customers. The sass and insinuated racism is unacceptable and I expect better from such a popular tourist attraction. On a brighter side, our guide was amazing

Fun show venue. Seats are expensive (unless you buy for the one Deutsche Bank sponsored show a year where all seats are the same price), but standing for shows that are less than 3 hours isn't too bad.

Arrive early to stand right in front of the stage or lean against the wall in the back.

If you do buy seats, middle level (not too far or blocked by groundings) or the back row (have a wall to lean against) is nice.

The Globe theatre was built by Shakespeare Playing Company. The original building was destroyed by fire on 29 June 1613. A second globe was built on the same site by June 1614. The theatre was closed by Ordinance issues on 6th September 1642.

The current globe is reconstructed and opened in 1997 which is approximately 750 feet from the original site. The location is right next to the River Thames.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I've been here on a tour and then to see Othello and both were incredible! I love every part of this fantastic theatre. Reasonably priced, beautifully remade, Shakespeare must be smiling down on this place because the staff, actors, builders and everyone else involved with the Globe has done him proud.

Such a wonderful place to visit in London! I would recommend paying to see a show rather than paying for the tour. The tour was very expensive for what you actually got. The tour did not contribute anything that you couldn't read in the first 5 lines of its Wikipedia page. Definitely worth seeing though!

One of the biggest success stories of the age. What sounds like a cheesy tourist trap is actually a brilliant location in which to see Shakespeare's wonderful plays, complete with a usually very high standard of production. Maybe the acting isn't quite RSC level but it is still pretty good. And now the whole place is surrounded by bars and pubs and restaurants making it a perfect destination. Sam Wanamaker must be smiling in heaven.

Very good performing arts theatre. Good place for kids and adults especially if interested in 14 to 15th century theatre. Perform all Shakespeare plays and others and have only stopped twice for weather. There is live music and everything is done as would have been in shakespeares time. Access to all places but have to usually reserve a ticket. The place has tours and an exhibition and has an indoor theatre for winter. It is worth the visit.

London's Globe Theatre, in it's third iteration, still worth the nickle tour to view inside and out. You are not allowed to take photos while actors are rehearsing. Well some Eastern European woman took a picture it the tour and did not get thrown out so...who was going to stop me and here is mine.

The visible part of the building is small but well structured. The prettiest part is that of Queen Victoria. Very funny are the representations in costume by 4 artists who remember a particular episode of life at the Palazzo. The park in front of the building is very beautiful and continues into Hide Park.

Had a great time, saw some famous actors rehearsing on the tour we were on. However if not for seeing the actors rehearsing, the tour wouldn't have been that great, probably 3.5 stars but it is the globe.

A fantastic experience, make sure you get the cushion for comfort if you are sitting! A backflow seat might also help as you can rest your back. Actors were brilliant, funny and engaging. Fabulously colourful!

Great place to see. Even if it's not the original, it is a great replica and the tour is very good at putting you in the time where the globe was at its peak and in the shoes of the people that went there.

About Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare's Globe is a world-renowned theatre, education centre, and cultural landmark located on the bank of the River Thames in London, UK. The Globe is not just a theatre but an institution that has been dedicated to preserving and promoting Shakespeare's legacy for over 400 years. It is also always open online, making it accessible to people from all over the world.

The Globe was founded by Sam Wanamaker in 1997 as a reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre where Shakespeare's plays were performed during his lifetime. The new building was constructed using traditional methods and materials to create an authentic Elizabethan experience for audiences.

Today, the Globe offers a wide range of performances throughout the year including Shakespeare's plays as well as contemporary works inspired by his legacy. The theatre has become known for its innovative productions that push boundaries while still staying true to Shakespeare's vision.

In addition to performances, the Globe also serves as an education centre offering workshops and courses for students of all ages. These programs are designed to help people understand and appreciate Shakespeare's work while also developing their own skills in acting, writing, directing or other aspects of theatre production.

The Globe is not just a physical location but also an online platform that provides access to its resources from anywhere in the world. This includes live streams of performances as well as educational content such as podcasts and videos that explore different aspects of Shakespeare's life and work.

One unique feature of the Globe is its commitment to sustainability. The building uses renewable energy sources such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems which help reduce its carbon footprint while also providing a model for other institutions around the world.

Overall, Shakespeare's Globe is much more than just a theatre – it is an institution dedicated to preserving one of history’s greatest playwrights' legacy while inspiring future generations with his timeless works. Whether you're visiting London or accessing their resources online from anywhere in the world – there’s something here for everyone who loves great literature or wants to learn more about it!
