One of the biggest success stories of the age. What sounds like a cheesy tourist trap is actually a brilliant location in which to see Shakespeare's wonderful plays, complete with a usually very high standard of production. Maybe the acting isn't quite RSC level but it is still pretty good. And now the whole place is surrounded by bars and pubs and restaurants making it a perfect destination. Sam Wanamaker must be smiling in heaven.
