Absolutely amazing performance of the tamein of the shrew .as well as the incredibly convincing cast of raw laid bare actors. The minimalism in props and costumes. The intimacy and decor of the theatre. The smell of candle smoke. The smell of the actors and other patrons. The music and the roar of the crowd Makes this a truly immersive experience.
If I hadn t know better I would have believed I had been taken back to Tudor times in London.
Highly recommend visiting here else you be a 3 inch fool !

Undoubtedly the best theatre experience in London or the world.

- Beer-hawkers keep things convivial
- Great shop with a range of souvenirs - study materials
- You can pay more to sit down or even hire a cushion, but why would you? Get down amongst the groundlings and jostle for a view.

If you come from abroad, be forewarned: rather than theater, this a rock concert featuring the BARD. The idiom of the divine Bill reigns supreme, and productions go from wacky to irreproachable, delivered with the energy of a Boeing plane (oops) roaring overhead. Yes, the noise from the planes can be heard once in a while. But that doesn't stop anyone. On the contrary. Alcoholic drinks, school groups, and bohemian types crowd the standing room, making each performance a full in- and out-of-body experience. Ten pounds for your soul!

I have no idea, having arrived at one o'clock in front of me I was unable to enter because of a show they were preparing, I wanted to stay for the show, but the time was short, I had to proceed with the predetermined London visit plan, but I give cmq 4 stars because I imagine it must be very beautiful.

I could not see the inside, need budget, however the architecture of the buildings seen from the outside is worth the detour !! I was able to get feedback from tourists who visited it and they were very satisfied !!

Went to see Henry VI last week. Great fun and a good performance, particularly atmospheric with all the candles-fantastic. The only reason for 4 stars is the seating was really uncomfortable.

Did the 7 pound standing ticket. Had hoped we'd sit at some parts but the workers came through before intermission ended and got us to stand again but totally worth it--saw As You Like It and it was phenomenal.

Half the tour was blatant marketing for upcoming shows and what's going on in the theater. We expected more history and tales about the origins of the globe, Shakespeare and associates, and the history of his time. Cool to see it but don't expect to learn much.

We attended Macbeth at the indoor theater. Having seen may professional performances of the play, I have to say this one was the best. The theater was period- appropriate, and only it by candles. The whole facility was marvelous.

It is a great experience, i mean the acting is sensational. The seats with restricted views are fine! Dont worry about that. I would say that whilst the experience and the view from the floor is good you WILL get horrific back pain that More

Went to a showing of King Lear last and thoroughly enjoyed it, beautiful weather and breathtaking performances in this remarkable old building. Remaining standing that long might be difficult for some so I'd bear that in mind when purchasing tickets but for a strapping lad like me this was no problem. I am forced to deduct one star as when one of the actors was walking to the stage he looked at my friend and I and said "Gosh, that's a lot of beer," and frowned but we were only holding 2 pints each.

Had a tour of Shakespeare's Globe on Bankside the other day. It took 40 minutes. It was very informative and interesting, I learnt a lot. There was a play being rehearsed in the open air theatre which was a real treat to observe. If you are looking for interesting things to do in London or you're a big fan of Will, make sure you pop in for a guided tour. The gift shop is well worth checking out.

A wonderful tour We had a spectacular guide. I spoke a clear English, even my 14 year old daughter understood everything they talked about. It is a must because of how beautiful the place is.

The experience at the Globe is second to none. The staff were knowledgeable, passionate and communicative and made active attempts to engage their patrons. Even on miserable London days, the guides made the tour interesting, informative and humorous. Even for those with no admiration for Shakespeare, it is still certainly worth visiting.

Exciting reconstruction of the original theater in...

Exciting reconstruction of the original theater in which William Shakespeare's works were staged 400 years earlier.
Thanks to the tenacity and commitment of the American actor and director Sam Wanamaker who has dreamed of realizing this project since 1970, in 1997 this building on the South Bank finally saw the light of day, which reproduces as far as possible faithfully the original theater, built few hundreds of meters away, for the first time in 1599 and destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt the following year and definitively demolished thirty years later.
For security reasons it can accommodate "only" 1400 spectators compared to the original which had a capacity of 3000.
You can visit it with a guided tour or attend one of the many shows on offer.
A curiosity ... Since 2003 there is a copy of the building in Rome in the Villa Borghese gardens which offers Elizabethan shows.

If you live in London, hopefully you go often. As a tourist an absolute must. We just got the standing tickets and leaned on the back wall, so perfect! And that giant vege patty for snack was so delicious.
