The pizza was okay, not spectacular. I really had my hopes up since it was a highly rated place. The drinks were decent, but came out about 30 minutes after we ordered them and by then, our food had arrived. You may only order off the drink menu and can't order a well drink of your choosing, which was very disappointing. (not even an old fashion)
The service was lackluster. Our waiter was kind of rude when telling us about the drink policy but, the manager was very nice when we ordered our desert.
Overall, I would not come here again.

Got seated pretty quickly. Ten minutes after being seated got water. 10 more minutes passed and no one ever came to take our order. Left after 20 minutes of waiting.
I hear the food is good!

Closest thing to going to Italy for a slice of pie.... oh wait, they don t slice their pizza. You want slices, go to domino s. You want real pizza that is like the real good Ones in Italy, in taste, love, craftsmanship and ingredients, go here!

Thank you so much for providing a piece of Italy in CO!!

The aperitivo was perfect; a well made Aperol Spritz with some very nice olives.

But then things went south...the octopus kale salad was a real disappointment; way too much kale which was so strongly dressed with a spicy dressing that it completely overwhelmed the thinly sliced octopus. Keep it simple; the beans & octopus is already a great combination. For $15, please more octopus and less kale.
My wife had the panzanella salad, nothing wrong with but the entire twigs of mint & basil was a turn off. Finely chop it up please.

They charged me $20 for a glass of mediocre rosso di montalcino. I know this wine region very well and this is way overpriced.

Last but not least the pizza. The kids shared a margarita and I had a salsiccia pizza which costs $19. I love a good salsiccia pizza but this was a disappointment to say the least. The fennel sausage was (lightly) crumbled on the pizza and could not be tasted because of the overload of green & red peppers. Not even sure what the peppers were doing on a salsiccia pizza? Keep it simple, make a margarita and put some decent chunks of sausage on it so you can taste it.

In general the pizza had a crust that lost it s crunchiness and turning soft/soggy quickly.

I m writing this review because I genuinely think these are things they can improve for future customers.

The GOOD: Their margarita pizza isn't bad, would be nice if they cut the pie for us though.

The BAD: Ordered the clam pizza and had no idea it came in the SHELL and all on my pie. Nothing like getting a clam pizza and then having to dig out the tiny clams in the shell and then cut my pizza. How is that good, and the clams must have not been rinsed well because occasionally my bite had some grit with it. Also witnessed the hostess drop the menus on the floor (floors were wet/grimy from snow fall) and then place those very same menus on the patrons plates.

OVERALL: Honestly not sure what the attraction is to this place but it was disappointing both service and quality. They have a corn pizza does that come with the corn still on the cob? Service was cold, caesar salad was descent but portion size was small. Try a different place.

My wife and I appreciate a good wood fired pizza and had a very enjoyable lunch experience. We started off with an arancino made with saffron rissoto which was a perfect starter.

That was followed by a Margherita which is a must for us, as it is the bar by which we judge all pizzerias. Little did we know this come with a drink and side salad as part of their lunch special. We also ordered up an Al Funghi for good measure. The San Marzano tomatoes were spot on and rich with flavour. The hen of the woods mushrooms were full of flavour on the Al Funghi and the soft roasted scallions were deliciously sweet and a brilliant addition. Of course the key to any good pizza is the crust on which it is topped and Pizzeria Locale does a great job here. The dough has some bite to it, and is savoury and slightly sour from a ferment. Highly recommended!

Best pizza in Colorado that I've had and possibly the best I've had anywhere outside of New York or New Haven. Napoletana-style pizza which is thin, crispy, and charred in some places with phenomenal dough and sauce. Great Italian cocktails, delicious appetizers that are a killer deal during Happy Hour, and amazing fresh ingredients put Locale on top. You can't really go wrong with any of their pizzas, but the Diavola and Calabrian are personal favorites. Maybe the best cannoli that I've ever had and some interesting gelato flavors wrap up the meal perfectly.

The pizza was good, but not great. We had two pizzas, one crust was undercooked and the other was overcooked. The toppings were excellent. Staff seem inexperienced (albeit on par for Boulder). Blaring techno music was dated and irritating.

Update: We returned to our new favorite Pizzaria today after being so blown away on our last visit. Our expectations were pretty high and things started out well, the staff greeted us and we were seated right away even getting there early for our reservation. Things went downhill from there We ordered the pizza with the palisade peaches, gluten free and noticed that there was only one young guy assembling the pizzas and working the brick oven. Not good. When our pizza came out to us it was black, crispy burnt. Not edible. We sent it back. We received another pizza in it's place, not as burnt but it was a mess. All the toppings were slopped on, it tasted okay but nothing like the amazing pizza we had a couple of weeks ago. As we watched the pies coming out of the oven all of them were burnt, not kidding. We left and felt really bummed. We really want to love this place but please bring back the guys that really know what they are doing and take pride in each pizza! It was literally night and day difference. The attached pizza oven chef is the one you want for the best pizza ever, made our first pie on our first visit.

This is a good pizzeria trying to do "the right thing" (Neapolitan pizza) and managing reasonably well. I tried the salsiccia pizza and it was pretty good, although I would have liked a bit more cheese and I think the dough would benefit from raising a few more hours. Good beers on the menu and a great selection of amari for lovers of the genre.

As an Italian living in Colorado I can say the pizza (I got the Margherita) is acceptable/good, I just wish it costs less (it's essentially less than 2$ for the ingredients...) so I can go there more frequently.

Pizzaria is a fun spot to go with friends. I received a gift card from my team at work and treated a friend to dinner.

The crust is excellent, the wine selection is wonderful. The restaurant is always joyful and bustling.

However, even though I made my reservation in advance, I didn t receive a notification that it was a special guest chef takeover that evening. Our waiter twice said, It s your choice to join us, which I thought was strange wording to say to a guest already in the restaurant.

It wasn t the takeover that was the issue he s a well-respected chef but the limited menu and lack of communication beforehand to those with reservations who are not also on their newsletter.

None of the pizzas offered had a marinara sauce. Even when I was craving a simple margharita pie, they said they would not accommodate it. There was only one dessert option, which was a sweetened pizza. Too much bread for me for one evening, so we passed on that. We were able to get the tomato salad that was delicious to break up the bread train.

Previous times I ve eaten here, I ve really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Update: My boyfriend and I enjoyed lunch here, his first time! A good experience, fresh pizza as always, and attentive staff.

Don't understand half of the words on the menu, but the pizza tastes better than the sandwich I made for lunch yesterday. That may not sound like a great compliment, but I make some pretty good sandwiches.

We got the pesto piccante pizza which was really good but the burrata e fico was incredibly disappointing. For $13 we got arugula with some cream on it. Definitely not burrata, definitely not worth $13.

Excellent made from scratch Pizza and Caesar salad with great atmosphere. We love sitting at the open air bar during happy hour or watching pearl street from the patio. The entire menu is delicious and uses only fresh, quality ingredients.

I love this place. Would visit again and again - and I might just order for delivery before I leave town. If you are alone or in a small group sit at the pizza bar and watch the symphony of the staff. Great food & ambiance, friendly employees.

It is great to sit at the bar and watch the pizza get put together and cook. Don't forget to order wine.

Consider a cheese-less option, e.g. carmelized onions, pine nuts, smoked bacon on a marinara with extra garlic and too much oregano, perhaps a little fennel too.
