Amazing wine. Unbelievable views. My husband and I were married at Copain two weeks ago, and we still have guests commenting on how beautiful the venue was, and how much they loved the wine!

A Wonderful place to visit and taste exceptional wines!

The Farm Table tasting was an elegant setting under the covered patio with lovely views of the Russian River valley.

Margaret was a gracious, exceptional hostess, that provided wonderful conversation, was super-knowledge about the winery s portfolio of wines, and overall provided great service. We were even poured a few glasses not on the tasting menu to demonstrate the variations between vintages. You can tell when someone pours their heart into something they love and it showed on all levels. Would definitely come back again!

Copain was delightful. My girlfriend and I sat out on the Adirondack chairs one sunny afternoon and shared a bottle of Chardonnay. The service was incredible and the wine was crisp and delicious. Copain' serene views tied everything together perfectly. Give it a try.

Copain has the best view from Sonoma!! We joined a tasting of 6 different wines, we loved the Pinot Noir! Highly recommend this place. Our host Phil was excellent. Thanks for a great afternoon.

The staff are great (like really great). Venue is beautiful. But the wine is highly variable. We were members for several years before cancelling.

We've had 4 or 5 wines from Copain, over several shipments, stored along with 100+ other wines in our wine fridge (58 degree) tha that has been terrible on opening. We've tried everything to figure out what happened -- contacted the vineyard about replacing them, asking about if we're storing them wrong, but other wines we got in shipments from other vineyards around the same time, held in the wine fridge for the same time - are all GOOD. None are corked or have any problems. Except the Copain. I'd say less than half the bottles shipped to us were good. They end up super acidic with little fruit, and *tough* to drink. Unlike the Copains when they are good (which are great when they're not bad). We've canceled our membership unfortunately. When they are good they're really good, but when they're bad, they are awful.

We enjoyed a wine tasting there last week end. Great views, nice parks and roads nearby, nice people and good wines. They were very nice to accept kids when everyone else doesn't (I wonder why). They were also pretty nice bringing additional food and wine and not charging for it. It reminded me Provence on some ways :)

This is a mixed review. Esposa and I came with 2 other couples. This was our first of three wineries as part of an Eastside Meets Westside experience, which included lunch and three library tastings at $200/person.

STAFF: 5 stars. Talk about nice, positive, and energetic. Yup, these are the guys. They look like GQ magazine cover models, but are so approachable and down to earth. They made us at home. Our host took us to a private tasting room. He was unpretentious and guided us through several wines, then served us lunch. Although he mentioned it, there was zero, no pressure to purchase wine or join their club. High five!

FACILITY: 5 stars. Wow. Talk about a great view and a beautiful building. This is it. Weather allowed for outdoor seating, which appeared quite busy. Our tasting room felt warm and cozy like we were staying in a casita with family.

FOOD: 5 stars. Made off-site, the food was excellent. Unfortunately, we had just eaten breakfast at our B&B, so were unable to finish it. No problem. Our host graciously packed a nice to-go bag.

WINE: 2 stars. This is the real reason we came. Of the 10 wineries esposa visited, this was the only one where nobody found the wines worthy of purchasing. We all enjoyed the welcoming Pinot Grigio the most. The single-vineyard wines were (in our opinion) overly simplistic and lacking in depth. The wines were enjoyable but not noteworthy. We felt very badly that we did not purchase. Alas, back to the staff, there was no pressure.

CONCLUSION: We had a blast and really enjoyed the hospitality.

Really elegant touches on some cold weather syrah, a few nice pinot noirs, and a very refreshing piquepoul. Then small plates to play with and beautiful setting. Pretty chill and laid back wait service made it cool and classy. Probably go back.

Copain is my favorite winery - elegant wines, warm hospitality and unforgettable setting. Very happy that I decided to become a member in 2014. Besides the wine, the modern farm house architecture and the panoramic views of the Russian River valley will make you sad to leave. Chris and Phil are the consummate hosts and always take a personal interest in ensuring a memorable tasting experience for me and my guests.

First time we went here we had a decent experience. The location is stunning and the wine is okay. The second time about a week ago, we received terrible service. We were made to sit outside in 95 degree weather to taste wine, the taste of which was completely ruined by the heat, and when we asked to move inside to the air conditioning, were told that we should have worn shorts on such a hot day. Considering it is an appointment only venue requiring prepayment, the service should be of a much higher standard. I would highly recommend avoiding Copain and trying one of the dozens of other wineries in the region which have better wine and definitely better service.

Great place during the pandemic. Outside under a tree, super comfortable and nice whites and a great Pinot. The wines were worthy of the incredible view. Everyone had their dogs with them today but well spaced and well behaved. Worth.

Copain is among those wineries that have defined new trends in California wine making. Expect a light, subtle beautiful Pinot Noir and some other unconventional wines for California, like Pinot Gris.
The view from the winery is stunning. One of my favorite places to visit in the wine country north of San Francisco.

Beautiful place for a tasting. Service was fantastic. Wine selections were great and the cheese plate pairings matched perfectly. First time to a vinyard for tasting and the bar is now set high.

Ah, Copain! Every time I look at images from this venue, my heart skips a beat and I smile SO BIG! The view from the top of the hill, where you can see vineyards and hills for miles during the ceremony, and the Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy a glass and the view give this laid back feel while still feeling classy. I LOVE how open the space feels, but intimate. The light is a photographers dream and the vibe of relaxation is perfect for a wedding where you want to truly savor the moment!
